Ishika let out a low laugh at that last part, swirling the last bit of her drink. “Day four: you storm the boardroom in combat boots and shut the whole thing down. I’d pay to see it.” Her gaze softened a little. “You’re right though. ‘Deserve’ is messy. It’s like chasing smoke—feels real until you try to hold it.” She let the words hang for a beat, then added, “Still doesn’t stop us from wanting answers. Even when we know better.”
She leaned forward slightly, her voice quieter now. “That line you mentioned? Between making an exception and someone earning one? I think it only feels clear until someone important blurs it. And by the time you realize it, you’re already stepping over it.”
Then, with a half-smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes: “But hey, if you're ever in the mood to bankrupt an industry, let me know. I make a decent enforcer when human decency needs backup.”
Elisa caught the contradiction in Ishika's words, recognizing the truth she'd rather avoid. "People walk away for plenty of reasons—fear, self-protection, whatever makes the nights easier to get through." The social worker in her brain categorized and sorted these justifications automatically. "Deserve answers? That's a loaded word. Nobody 'deserves' anything in this world, good or bad. We just get what we get." She shifted uncomfortably at being called out. "Yeah, if I stuck to my rules, we wouldn't be talking about this at all ... you got me there."
That observation really hit home. "Making exceptions versus someone earning one ... that's a fine line. Makes me think of all those women who come to my houses thinking their partners have 'earned' another chance." Rules existed for reasons grounded in real consequences. "The problem is, who decides what 'earned' means? Where's that line?" She grimaced at the thought. "Funny that you think I'd be good at running an insurance company. Those places are built to deny help, not give it. I'd probably bankrupt them in a week." The image amused her. "First day: everyone gets their claims approved, second day: mandatory empathy training, third day: board members calling for my head." She shook her head. "Though honestly? Watching suits squirm while I explained basic human decency might almost be worth it."

...so you don't know me, but Simon's asked me to ask you to meet him for a dinner.
@grillintimesforall
( Also, @asksprunkiestsimon )
10 thousand years later, and here I am. I was originally intending to make a full on drawing, but I got caught on other asks that I needed to do before this one. I guess have a non-drawn answer?? Vineria didn't even bother to open the door, she didn't want to terrify the anon by her miserable appearance, and so she answered from behind the door. "A.. dinner, huh..? mm.. I.. guess I could come.. do you happened to know why he invited me to one?"

Absolutely speechless.🥹

I can’t thank you all enough for this. Seeing your appreciation for something that I make is so unbelievable and just amazing. You have no idea how much this all means to me. If 8 year old me knew how many people appreciated her, she would cry in disbelief. Seeing this right now, just wow. Thank you❤️
All my love to you💋

Ishika’s lips curled into a slight smirk, her fingers lightly tapping against the side of her glass. “Then it’s a good thing you didn’t,” she replied smoothly, her tone carrying the same measured ease Amara had offered. “Truth has a way of ruining perfectly good conversations.” She let the silence linger a beat before leaning in just enough, her voice dropping. “But you’re right—nothing about me is accidental. Not even the parts meant to mislead.” Her gaze held steady, steady enough to match that unspoken challenge. “Question is… are you looking for answers, or just watching to see how the pieces move?”
Amara didn’t answer right away, letting the ambient noise fill the air between them all the while her eyes began following Ishika’s glass as it lowered once more. Then, with a faint exhale through her nose, she leaned back slightly in her seat. “I figured as much,” she said, her voice low and even. “Still—worth asking.”
Her fingers traced the rim of her own glass as she continued, gaze flicking toward the stage, then back again with a sharper focus. “People don’t wear things like that by accident. Ring or not, it says something—even if it’s just playing a part.”
She paused, studying Ishika’s expression. There wasn’t accusation in her voice, not really. Just a quiet challenge, wrapped in something close to curiosity. “Don’t worry,” she added, one corner of her mouth twitching upward in something that wasn’t quite a smile, “I wasn’t expecting the truth. That’d be far too easy.”

@lordblacktyde The Lord of Il Mare had accompanied the Royal Family, his family, to Valtolia for better or potentially worse. He'd made a promise to Aurelius that this trip would be one of decompress after the king assumed that Amare remained too high strung regardless of this new era of peace.
ALLEGED new era of peace. Even as he stood among the intermingled people of all the nations, he remained with a fluke in his hand, passing glares to those around him as if he was just waiting for malice of one of the foreign powers to finally give...
As he finally turns, he finds himself standing face to face with the Medesi Master of Coin. An acquaintance for years at this point in his life; one he found enough joy in to actually crack a smile.
"Lord Blacktyde. So you've traveled here as well? A pleasure to see another familiar face from home. How have the days been treating you?"

Me perdoe pelo deslize, vossa alteza.

@kinglucerys
He had taken his leave of his father's side from the balcony seating. Flask now half empty, the second born of Sollia swayed through the moving bodies waltzing on the dance floor as he tried to make his way towards his other father. Just before he could, the prince found himself being swept up by a noble, a Bergian bear who grasped his hand and grinned...with several teeth rotted away.
"Ew...No." Uriel snatched his hand back and flicked his wrist to beckon the noble to begone as if shooing a dog away. He felt the angry eyes on him but didn't care. Instead, he swayed onward towards the king of Sollia.
"Papi," he said falling into his father and giving him a quick hug. "Papi, do you want to go back home? I saw you looking like you were thinking of a Lost Lenore. Say the word and I will be right by your side to travel back..." he leans in, cupping his own mouth to whisper, breathy syllable punctuated with the strong scent of tequila.
"I'm. So. Fucking. Bored."

"Ah, he's a good one. I remember him from the days he was still at Hogwarts and I started working at the Three Broomsticks. Remus tried to keep the other boys in check. Keyword in that sentence being 'tried', of course." Because how much would those boys be able to be kept in check after all. A smile was formed on Ros' face when Aurora admitted to feeling a lot better, that was very good to hear. "What is it that Remus likes? Maybe I can brainstorm with you regarding a gift?" Not that Ros was the best at giving gifts but she could definitely try. "I'm doing well. As well as one can be with a war raging, of course."
Aurora nods her head when Rosmerta repeats Remus' name. "Yes, it would be him. I guess we couldn't keep away from each other." Things had been better than her birthday, even the last couple months when they oved in together. "His birthday is coming up and I'm wondering what I can get him." Her head nods. "I am. I feel like I got that piece of me back." A small pause. "How are you doing?"

Starter for: @lydiatravers
The thing with step-siblings… You didn’t know what you were going to get. Her father was on wife four already and it would not surprise her if he would add wife five (and a fourth divorce) to the pile as well. It didn’t seem to be in his nature to stick with one woman for a long time. Where Seth was her half-brother, Lydia was her step-sister and the relationships were completely different. Val would easily say that Lydia and here were complete opponents from one another. But still… Lydia was family and Val would do anything for that. So that was the entire reason why the darkhaired woman was currently seated in a fitting room in Diagon Alley, waiting for her sister to reappear again. “Come on, Lydia… How hard is it to get into a dress?”
