As an update to this I feel like I probably don't have the flu anymore but based on my breathing I probably have pneumonia 💀 what is my fucking luck, right?

On the bright side, I'm coughing SO much less, and am feeling infinitely less miserable than before, so- you should all see a return to usual posting within the next week, I'd imagine. You might not see the fic quite so fast, but that's because my stylus for my laptop came in, so the first thing I wanna work on when I'm well enough is gonna be reinstalling SAI (or something) and moving over some of my unfinished mobile sketches to go Fully Apeshit on them!

First, disclaimers: we all know Ed Edd n' Eddy doesn't belong to me, and the "Assassin AU" of the series is by "C2ndy2c1d". Secondly, it's recommended you zoom into the image for better quality, however possible. For more about this piece and my thoughts, click the "read more" below.

If you're wondering how some animal hybrid, like Claire, exists in this world, I came up with an idea that could make sense. I'd imagine any organization running a business involving assassins would want to craft something that'd make their jobs easier: hybrids that combine humanistic and animalistic abilities, "werebeasts". At the very least, it certainly helped me come up with one idea for a more original series based on assassins.

Just think about how handy it may be, if you could have a servant/partner that was un-dyingly loyal to the point of dying in your place? Plus, the human body would make for an easier time of protecting you and assisting you in tasks, while the animal senses/parts are pretty easy to guess the usefulness of.

Back to the comic itself, I had some issues here and there, like the upper perspective toward the forest ceiling at times. Also, I'll be honest: this AU version of Sarah and Jimmy freaks me out, so that was a mental obstacle to overcome, via getting myself into the Zen of looking at and drawing them. What? They wear masks, they call themselves a creepy-sounding duo name of "Dollies," their main method of weapon is acupuncture and thus means they prefer controlling your body-- don't even get me started on some fan art portraying them as puppeteers, by as simple as their hidden strings being drawn from their fingertips... If that wasn't enough, I've seen how cunning and manipulative these two could be in the actual EEnE series: "If it Smells like an Ed" and "Run Ed Run," and I'd imagine they'd be 10x more clever and conniving, possibly having honed those skills as assassins.

Even creepier, I just know those two would realistically have a field day with Claire, since her small size and animal features would probably make her look like a living doll/teddy hybrid in the duo's eyes. I doubt they'd actually hurt the poor, terrified thing, but I still do not envy her being a likely target of their fun: the teasing, the ability to push her around, the ability to manipulate her smaller body-- even without the puppet strings and acupuncture... Geez, it's like Claire has her own Kanker Sisters, except there's no "lovey dovey" stuff involved-- but I can't decide which is worse!

I also had a bit of trouble with the drawn motions, and I'm not especially proud of the movement in Claire zipping into Ed's arms up there. But, at the very least, I think we can all agree it looks better to use lines and draw SFX, than to do some sort of "overlapping" effects and what else could hide the expressions/etc.

Recently I did one where I made the hybrid kids look more human and the other kids more hybrid?

Djali still partially creeper but the majority is human to be honest if kid was ever turned human they would most likely Haidet,  Grumbot... parents not supposed to have a favorite but I love his design! he’s a cyborg and he likes wearing those TV heads it just makes him feel secured I like his hair and how it’s reminiscent of Grian but it’s still his own style. Jiggles is just a baby! She’s not as droopy and I gave her a tie-dye hoodie I wanted to try something new with my pencils. Tizzy... i’m on the fence with her originally she was going to be Hoglund but then I ended up scrapping an idea and I know technically choose from the void but I didn’t wanna make her the ender dragon or something and then I remembered that one comic where she carries Junie over the lava... speaking of Junie I really shouldn’t blame him for this but he might be my least favorite to draw simply because I end up draw tiny feathers! i’m on the fence with him too I like the idea of bird people and feathers for hair but I don’t know I probably could’ve drawn it better or something Plus the thing on his mid drift honestly looks like a goddamn chip bag? I like Aislinn‘s design to I kind of pulled a Ranboo it’s more like half human and half of the vex’s I feel like even though vex are tricksters normally, they grow too enjoy the finer things!

Were I to have an insane and unrealistic amount of power over at Marvel I’d re-organize the Spider-Man relevant trades. I share the belief that the hurdle to new readers isn’t so much that there is a long history so much as a history spread all over the place. Wanting to read Spider-Man isn’t simple even if you do have the time and patience to read 50 years worth of comics. You need to know WHICH comics and WHAT ORDER to read them in. And the latter has a multiple choice answer!

This is part of why USM was so strong in it’s early days. 1 title, no satellites, no spin-offs. All you needed to do was pick up issue #1 or trade volume 1 and read sequentially from there. Not just easy to follow but easy to catch up and thus allow readership to grow.

Thus I propose that we simply organize the Spider-Man brand into a series of sequential trades. Functionally these will be like the Deadpool Classic trades, but with multiple trades following the various characters of the Spider-Verse. Want to read just about Peter Parker, you pick up his trades. But want to read just about Miles or Venom? The trades will have you covered going across their respective histories in the in-universe reading order.

In other words you need not worry about whether story arc A in ASM happens before story arc B in Spec and where Guest appearance C fits in. The trades would sort it all out for you. You’d just pick up any volume and read cover to cover, with tiny subplot pages and text inserted where relevant to clarify things. E.g. if there were 2 three part stories happening at the same time, you don’t want to interrupt that, so you’d just print one then have some text saying ‘the following three issues take place during the events of the ASM #X-Z’.

Additionally, in order to not make things unnecessarily confusing I’d omit retroactive stories like Untold Tales of Spider-Man, Symbiote Spider-Man, etc from these trades. My rationale is that not only would these spoil certain things but more significantly as time goes by people will inevitably write more retroactive stories meaning the trades would need to be constantly amended.

Instead I’d simply make a ‘Companion’ trade series reprinting such stories in publication order with a few notes explaining where they take place relative to the original issues. E.g. you’d pick up ‘Peter Parker: Spider-Man Classic Companion Volume 1’ and before you read Untold Tales of Spider-Man #1 a note would inform you it happens after ASM #3 or whatever.

So what would these trade series be exactly?

Something like this:

1.       Peter Parker: Spider-Man Classic: Simply every Peter Parker appearance or relevant comic book. ASM, Spec, New Avengers, Secret Wars, guest appearances, everything!

2.       Mary Jane Classic: Same thing for Mary Jane, albeit to save some time we could simply reprint the MJ relevant pages from various comics as there would be little need to reprint a whole Spidey adventure she just cameos in. The info text could simply give you context for each appearance before we got to meatier stories. I’d employ this method for all of the following whenever relevant.

3.       Black Cat Classic: Obviously this would include her solo minis but also and team appearances like in Heroes for Hire.

4.       Daily Bugle Classic: It occurred to me there were several stories focussing upon a lot of the supporting cast that didn’t feature Spider-Man himself. That aside people love the supporting cast so I figured some trades chronicling their exploits would make sense. For this trade series it’d focus upon J. Jonah Jameson first and foremost but also Betty Brant, Joe Robertson, Ben Urich, etc

5.       The Many Loves of Spider-Man Classic: Same idea but with the Spidey girlfriends who don’t have that many appearances to their name. The main focus would be Gwen Stacy because for good or ill she’s a character who people are interested in. But you could also throw in appearances from Deb Whitman, Carlie, etc.

6.       Spider-Man’s Tangled Web: TBH I couldn’t figure out a good name for this one, but essentially this would be about Peter’s friends who aren’t superheroes, Bugle employees or girlfriends of his. This would include Flash Thompson (pre-Venom), Liz Allan, Randy Robertson, possibly Glory Grant although she’d also fit in with the Bugle trades I guess. Throw in the Tangled web issues and your good to go!

7.       Clone Classic: As you might expect this would chronicles Ben Reilly and Kaine’s exploits, but also for good measure ALL the clearly clone related stories. So we’re talking appearances involving Miles Warren and Gwen’s clone too. Although I guess the latter could fit in ‘the Many Loves of Spider-Man’ trades.

8.       Spider-Man’s Amazing Friends Classic: All of the superhero friends Spider-Man has who are closely associated with him and have had off and on titles over the years. Prowler, Silver Sable, Rocket Racer, Sandman (when he reformed), Jackpot, Alpha, Will O’ Wisp, etc

9.       Goblins Classic: I thought of doing a trade purely about the Osborns but this seemed more logical. It’d cover every appearance of the Goblin related characters. We’re talking Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, Bart Hamilton, Roderick Kingsley, Ned Leeds, Jason Macendale, Phil Urich, Green Goblin V, Hobgoblin from Bendis’ Secret War, Gabriel+Sarah Stacy, Lily Hollister and whoever else will become a Goblin

10.   Doctor Octopus Classic: Speaks for itself, and yeah it’d include his clones from Superior onwards too.

11.   Symbiotes Classic: I thought of having this be about all the symbiotes OTHER than Venom and Carnage but having 3 sets of trades for symbiotes seemed ridiculous. This would cover every symbiote (Venom, Carnage, Hybrid, Scream, Toxin, Mania, Sleeper, etc) along with major hosts of theirs. Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady, Mac Gargan, Flash Thompson, Andi Benton, etc

12.   Sinister Six Classic. Maybe you couldn’t call these guys A-listers strictly speaking but these would be the real famous Spider-Man villains who haen’t already been mentioned. We’re talking the Vultures, Electros, Kravens, Mysterios, Chameleon, all the really classic costumed Spidey bad guys you could think of with the exception of some of the folks I’m gonna name below

13.   The Many Foes of Spider-Man Classic: This would chiefly chronicle the stories about the characters from Deadly/Lethal/Superior Foes of Spider-Man, most importantly Boomerang, Beetle and Shocker

14.   Spider Women Classic: All the 616 centric Spider Ladies. Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, Cindy Moon, Anya Corazon, maybe even throw Madame Web in there for good measure. I think it makes sense to consolidate them together into a trade series as their publication histories meant they were usually passing the baton onto one another.

15.   Miles Morales: Spider-Man Classic: Guess who this is about. Obviously this would include his appearances in Champions, Avengers, etc

16.   Gwen Stacy: Ghost Spider Classic: Every Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider/Earh-65 Gwen appearanceD

17.   Spider-Ham Classic: You get the picture. Although I’d also add in versions of Spider-Ham that are from different Earths as well

18.   Spider-Man 2099 Classic: We’re actually already doing these in real life, but I’d want them to include every version of Miguel too and brief appearances across other titles

19.   Ultimate Spider-Man Classic: Obviously the same deal for Ultimate Peter Parker, but I’d also include Ultimate Jessica Drew as well

20.   Web of Spider-Verse: A trade series that reprints in publication order every other AU Spider-People out there. All the What Ifs, the Earth X stuff, House of M, X-Men: Forever, 1602, Noir, India, Peni Parker, Fairy Tales and of course Web Warriors

21.   Spider-Girl Classic: We’re already doing this one too. Just wish it’d come out faster!

22.   Spider-Man: Japan Classic: ALL the Japanese Spider-Man stories. Every appearance of Supaidaman from Spider-Verse and beyond. Every appearance of Spider-Man J, Mangaverse Spider-Man, Spidey Fake Red and most controversially Spider-Man: The Manga (deffo gonna have to put a mature readers disclaimer on those ones.

Did you ever read the Infinity Countdown: Captain Marvel oneshot? I just did and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I had not read it and now I have and what. WHAT.

For those who aren’t familiar: for crossover event reasons, Carol has the Reality Gem, which gives the wielder the power to alter the laws of reality and (in this canon) access all other versions of reality. This offers wide scope for a multiverse-spanning oneshot story in which Carol encounters multiple versions of herself and other Captain Marvels (Captains Marvel?) while grappling with the immense power of the gem. Perfectly solid premise. So far so good.

But what could drive Carol to risk tapping the gem’s powers, as dangerous as they are? An imminent disaster? A terrible tragedy?

In the process of successfully and non-lethally subduing a dangerous supervillain, Carol causes property damage and alarms a half dozen civilians. In cape comics, this is what we call a quiet Tuesday, but here we’re expected to see it as an utter catastrophe. People are afraid of Carol! Instead of applauding and cheering for her, they are fleeing in panic! Clearly this points to Carol’s utter failure as a superhero and as a human being, and is in no way a natural reaction to two heavy objects hurtling from the sky and slamming into the middle of a road!

Carol completely drops her bundle and spirals into questioning every decision she has ever made, which prompts her to recklessly and frivolously use the Reality Gem to scour every other AU for clues as to where she went wrong with her life.

In Earth-669, she finds a world where Civil War II ended differently. You remember Civil War II, that universally beloved masterpiece of character fiction turned Carol into a raging fascist poised to tear apart innocent lives on a single precog’s say-so? I know I’m sure thrilled to be reminded of it!

Well, in this reality she also became a raging fascist, before experiencing such an abrupt change of heart that everyone around her interpreted her poorly-expressed olive branch as a renewed assault. Instead of putting Tony in a coma, 669-Carol is the one who ended up comatose.

616-Carol wails and cries self-pityingly. Yes, her actions led to people dying and being grievously wounded and having their lives ruined, but she was also a victim! Because she... became unpopular. Everybody was sooooo mad at her, you guys! They treated her like she’d killed Tony, even though he was still alive and she didn’t mean it and anyway he’s find now so it’s totally okay. HER LIFE IS SO HARD.

Next stop: Earth-10774, which is broadly the same as the House of M reality, where Carol (as Ms Marvel) was Earth’s premier hero. Except that in this universe, the Marvel mantle belongs to Monica, who is beloved, while 10774-Carol is a pitiable alcoholic who sleeps in the gutter.

“No. That’s not right at all!” wails Carol, who still doesn’t appear to understand the concept of an infinite multiverse. “I knew how hard Tony fought his alcoholism, so I got help!” Which is a weird way of phrasing it and kind of implies that Carol’s sobriety is entirely Tony’s doing.

In Earth-9289, things veer into the incomprehensible. Carol meets a version of Rogue who, unlike in Earth-616, absorbed “all of [Carol] -- powers, personality, feelings”. Except... that is literally what happened in 616 continuity.

I think the idea is supposed to be that, whereas in 616 Carol and Rogue were both ultimately able to reclaim their identities and recover, in 9289 their identities and powers became inextricably entwined, resulting in a hybrid Carol/Rogue persona... or possibly some kind of body swap situation, because for some reason there are two of them here?? I've read the page several times and I can’t figure it out at all.

Moving on to Earth-70875, 616-Carol muses that she was “trained ... by the best”, referring to Mar-Vell, who -- while he was her friend and love interest -- absolutely did nothing to train her. When Carol met Mar-Vell, she was already a highly trained military officer. The only thing she got from him were (inadvertently) her powers, which she learned to use by her damn self.

Anyway, in this universe, Carol had the Nega-Bands instead of Rick Jones and she sacrificed herself to save Mar-Vell or something. Whatever.

Carol has some trite revelation about defining her own reality, returns to Earth-616, beats the bad guy again and decides to accept all the choices she’s made.

She concludes that she now understands how devastatingly dangerous the Reality Gem could be if it fell into the wrong hands, because they could use “information” from other universes to make “choices”, which, I’m sorry, bullshit.

This gem is supposed to be capable of tying the laws of physics in knots and moulding reality like putty, which is a chilling power in any hands. This comic reduces it to a window into the multiverse, a kind of hall of Mirrors of Erised that’s dangerous mainly to the wielder, who risks becoming consumed by second-guessing their own choices and longing for a world that’s not their own.

Yes, there’s a fleeting detail about Carol using a piece of advice from an alternate Captain Marvel to defeat a villain in her own universe, but it’s hardly a terrifying demonstration of the gem’s power. We could have had Carol punching through the walls of the multiverse, pulling an army of alternate Captain Marvels into Earth-616 to thwart a cosmic threat before exiling the villains to a desolate universe. We could have had her dipping into the gem’s reality-warping powers to counteract a villain, with frightening consequences.

Instead we got... ‘Woe, woe! My life is terrible! Tell me, Magic 8-Ball, where did I go wrong?! ... What’s that? It could be worse? Gee, thanks, 8-Ball! I guess I know myself a bit better now! But I can’t help but wonder: what would a villain do with this terrifying power of... INFORMATION?’

Who the heck is/are my muse(s) anyway:

In the main crew, we have Sammy, a nerdy ghoul boi who is the embodiment of Samhain (of the Celtic calendar) and Guardian of the Veil; Nightshade, his soul-sister and cat-turned-human witchy familiar; and last but not least Axel, the sadistic, cannibal crow mythos who’s only interested in revenge and fucking people (up).

They’re all super old and supernatural and 2/3 are always happy to meet new people!

Points of interest:

Samhain & Nightshade: guarding the Veil, keeping the balance, protecting innocent humans and mythos alike, adventuring and exploring new places, meeting people and learning new things. Sammy enjoys reading, treasure-hunting and getting lost in his research. Nightshade enjoys cooking, eating, listening to music, and keeping up with the latest memes.

Axel: looking for the biggest, baddest, toughest rivals he can fight to the death with, enjoys challenges, exploring new places, witnessing genocides and mass-murders, causing genocides and mass-murders, fucking people (up) psychologically and physically.

What they’ve been up to recently:

Samhain & Nightshade: their work and responsibilities as Guardians of the Veil. Though the Veil is at its thinnest during Hallow’s Eve (31st Oct), they work 24/7 by hunting malicious spirits and whatever dangerous creatures threatening both humans and mythos that are already existing in the world. When not on the job, they’re either out sight-seeing and visiting friends or chilling at home. They also run a small business from home by making potions, charms and selling spells or rare ingredients. Merchants and traveling caravans often stop by their place so they always have a lot of stock to trade.

Axel: whatever the fuck he wants. Mostly spends his time hunting down prey in the human world, or spreading his wings and exploring new and faraway lands/dimensions. He’s still on his quest to journey to Hell and get his revenge on the demoness who killed his whole family. Always easier said than done, but he’s patient and he plays the long game better than anyone.

Where to find them:

The crew live on an abandoned, magickal island called Sundown. Geographically, it’s somewhere up in Northern Ireland but can’t be marked on any human map. It was magickal long before any of them settled there and because of its supernatural properties, it can hide itself from the naked eye. At the same time the island and its forests are connected to every labyrinth, maze and neck of the woods across worlds and dimensions.

Samhain is always saying that the island has a mind of its own and likes to spirit people away, regardless if their living or dead. People either end up in Sundown when they least expect it, or because it’s where they’re supposed to go.

While you can easily find Samhain and Nightshade at home, Axel can’t stay cooped up in once place too long and travels all over the place. When he’s not hunting, he escapes to the quiet of the wild or the bustling big cities.

Current plans:

The narrative starts with Samhain and Nightshade already experts in their fields and doing their jobs as Guardians of the Veil, and continues with them helping Axel achieve his goal of ultimate payback. The timeline for this blog is infinite after that because I haven’t quite figured out the endgame for anything just yet. Which is why any plot that involves Axel killing Ketele, getting his heart back, and even Nightshade’s life after Samhain’s death, is considered an AU.

In terms of plans for this blog, I’m still working on things so that they can fall into place and serve as proper material for a comic. Once I’ve gotten all my ideas sorted out, those AUs might probably not stay AUs and end up being one huge main timeline.

Desired interactions:

I’d love more threads that explore the darker side of Samhain, whether it’s in the Mainverse or in any of the AUs where he’s not his usual, warm, friendly self or where he’s morally grey. Which is why I love writing him in his criminal verses! Some of my faves are: - Pirate AU: He’s the first-mate and quartermaster who has the gift of ‘Sight’ but he’s as pirate as they come. - Green Eyed Devil: Human-Ghoul hybrid bandit whose crew would do almost anything for money. - Mobprince AU: Classy and more reserved, the quiet but bloodthirsty type. I’ve always been a fan of mobs/gangs/syndicates. - Dark!Samhain: Angsty, overpowered hermit. I rarely get opportunities to write him in this verse which is a shame because I’d like to develop it more.

Nightshade’s all fun and games but once in a while, it’d be refreshing for Nightshade to do a serious thread. Like maybe deal with heavier, more sensitive topics. I’ve emphasized how she’s seen the same amount of horror Samhain has seen but comes out more mentally resilient in comparison, so I’d really like to explore that more about her. I also feel like she hasn’t been able to really connect with anyone as a real friend?? Idk how to explain it but like, I feel like she just floats between different muses and she’s so friendly with everyone, it’s hard to pinpoint whether there is a real connection between them or if it’s just Nightshade being...Nightshade? It’s none of my partners’ faults BTW! I’m reminding me to fix that about myself and how I write her.

Speaking of darker topics, I don’t mind pushing the boundaries when it comes to Axel as long as it doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable. I used to write some disturbing shit with him back in the day (like he broke into a drug lord’s flat and killed everyone in it so he could use it as his personal nest, killed and ate two police officers who were investigating the break-in, mutilated, tortured and ate a rapist alive after catching him in the act etc.). But the partners I used to write with are long gone and I feel like Axel needs to get back into the game again.

Though the blog is advertised as a WEEKEND blog (cus I work 9-5 on weekdays), I am usually lurking online thanks to mobile and will answer IMs when free. I don’t like replying to threads on mobile so I’ll usually reply on the weekends. Unless I’m busy that weekend, then sometimes I change up the rules and reply on a Friday or whenever I’m able.

When I reply to threads, I like to release a bunch at a time and then I’ll tag my partners so that they can see how many threads I’ve replied to out of the total count, like so! The total count often changes because we could have dropped threads in between, or partners go on hiatus and they get moved from ‘ongoing’ to ‘cold’ threads. Howdy Ya’ll, I’m just gonna do a spot of rambling because I’ve been thinking about this for a couple of weeks,,

I’ve loved writing since like, early middle school, and I still love writing, although I don’t do it nearly as much as I used to. I wanted to try and get back into it with zest and zeal this summer but, although I certainly am doing more writing than I got to last semester (maybe all of last year?) at school, I haven’t done nearly as much as I want to. It makes me kind of sad?? 

I feel like my writing takes a backseat to my drawing, and while that’s not at all bad, I do miss producing copious amounts of Word documents on stories and written ideas that went absolutely nowhere. I still go back to revisit those stories and there are so many documents to go through and so many goddamn pages to each that I get annoyed with my past self sometimes -- like girl, where did you find the drive???  And I do definitely feel like I’m neglecting you guys a lot sjskldadf. It takes me literal weeks and sometimes months to get to even small replies. There’s also all these ideas in my head all the time [I’m never at a loss for ideas or inspiration, only motivation.] that could certainly benefit from being written out before I try to jump into drawing them, I think. Well, not “I think,” I want to do comics at some point, so it would definitely be beneficial. 

As far as roleplaying, lately I get all of my most fulfilling interaction through a sort of half-roleplaying half-plotting hybrid kind of conversation with other muns. I don’t think that’s bad? I just don’t know if that’s how most prefer to do it. But Please Lord, do feel free to tell me if I’m wrong on this because I do really love having these long talks with people about our characters and actively throwing them into things and seeing how they react. It forces me to think about things I may have never thought about and makes me and Kaibara make decisions and is just so good for development. Not to mention, I’ve made some lifelong friends by talking this way while completely neglecting one another’s threads ahaa. I’m lookin at you Mion and Coco. Not to be a sap, but ya’ll really mean so much to me. That said, I am definitely willing to do this in groups! We could start up a group chat on Discord and run with it! 

Another thing I’ve been contemplating is whether or not something like a little, live IM-based roleplay would be a better environment? Because it basically forces me to sit down and focus on writing -- because there’s another person right there actively waiting for my reply -- actively responding to it. When Tinierme closed down (god, I just threw it a little too far back ajslkdf) I did the majority of my roleplaying on Google Docs and/or a private Chatango chat with a certain group of friends -- active sessions of roleplay. Sometimes several roleplays going on at the same time with Google Docs, since we could just hop between Documents and work on a reply while our partner worked on another. And I’m talking multiple-paragraph replies, sometimes written in less than 6 minutes. We were writing fools. 

This was also back when I was more spontaneous with roleplaying, I think? But I think that’s because I was never really faced with plotting? Because I had a regular group of people who I’d known and roleplayed with for years, and we were pretty much up for working with whatever we threw at one another. Then I was introduced to plotting when I got to my second blog on tumblr (this one) and it turned out to be more than a little addicting, sdjvlskdf. I don’t know if I could be as spontaneous as I used to be. Something else to experiment with in the future, I suppose.

The problems with this, of course, include time constraints, other non-IM-based threads, et cetera but, I don’t think I’m looking for anything that huge just yet. As we can see, I already have problems with even small replies. 

I think part of that is also my over-editing thrice-times over, my anxiety over making mistakes, and my need to be very verbose while also saying things exactly as I mean them (as exemplified by how long this is getting, and how I started this at 4am and it’s taking me until 5am to finish ahaa.) I wouldn’t mind that Kaibara’s blog is primarily an ask blog on most days, but it takes me just as long, if not longer to get through asks (let alone drawing things for them) and I usually end up hoarding them for absolutely no reason.

I also think a big part of the problem is that I don’t have a big project/AU/plot just pumping inspiration and motivation into me? 

The last time that I thought that was going to happen I poured scores of inspiration and ideas into something that the other party didn’t really seem interested in. We agreed to plot and I got really involved with creating this exciting and intricate world for our characters to experience together -- through what really seemed like one-sided conversations, looking back on it -- and then didn’t even get a reply to the starter. I mean, really? I may have felt better if there had been at least one back-and-forth, which was then abandoned in favor of plotting/interacting via IM,, because it be like that sometimes. That’s fine! But the starter, which I worked so hard on and was so excited for, sat unused and discarded on my blog. And it remained that way, even when I put art and askbox interactions into the AU after posting it, even though it was going nowhere (trying to spark as much interest as I had, I guess. For naught, of course.) In the end it felt like they were only in it for the ship art they got out of me, any my stupid ass just went right ahead and gave it to them with minimal effort and maybe even some faked enthusiasm on their part, smh.

Looking back on that, honestly? I’m a little afraid that that’s what ended up draining a lot of the drive to write out of me. We all have that deep-seated fear of pouring lots of effort into character interactions that the other party barely gives a second thought to, right? Experiencing that shit first hand with this huge,, intricate plot that you get really attached to? Doesn’t really feel good,,, like at all. Feels so bad thinking about it that I had to lapse back into my ultra pause multi-commas, apparently.

And, well, The Depression™ (or what I highly suspect to be depression) doesn’t really help matters? Roleplaying is escapism and all that. I don’t quite feel like getting into that, however, so I guess I’ll just leave things here?

If there’s any advice or input, or even if you’re open to that plotting/roleplaying hybrid or interested in the quick IM-based roleplay I mentioned, please let me know? Undertale: In the shadows of time project

Yeah thought i would post this thing up here so here is the news:

Yeah i got this idea from a friend of mine  and i thought it would be awesome if i did a idea like this too, In other words i want to see and try out doing a collab story with others pretty much by roleplaying with each person then using the roleplays to put together a whole story and all. I thought this would be quite fun and awesome to do since it always fun doing team work stuff with others after. The plot of this story is that timelines in aus are slowly falling apart and being tore up and the characters from my own aus end up having to search out for others from other aus to form up a powerful team to seek out on what is causing all of this chaos and destorying the time . I open for anyone taking part in this so long as they follow the rules and all . Since i got Skype i can do the roleplay through Skype too if others want to roleplay together with me and one more person and all since that is okay with me too. 

Message me or send me a ask if you want to take part in this project pretty much and if you want my skype then ask me in a message please. Here are the rules : - No God Moding seriously man take it easy with that since no likes their characters being killed without being given a chance to dodge or fight back or being asked first if the characters is going to die and all.

- I am not fussy with what length the person types in replies and i am fine with both short and long ones during the roleplays.

Chapter list: (WIP that means that this is not all of them and there is like going to be alot of chapters since i want to try and make this long that i can make it go) : Chapter one: Kingtale Gaster vs Heartless : This chapter is about the kingtale au getting evaded by a huge group of shadow beasts that are trying to take over the au and Kingtale Gaster and the monsters in his au have to battle the shadow beasts and get them out of their au before it gets destoryed or many are killed, Kingtale Gaster has to fight Heartless in this chapter who is a skeleton/shadow beast hybrid who is being mind contorled and being forced to fight on the side of evil and Kingtale Gaster has to fight him to try and help get Heartless out of that mind contorl and save him. Chapter two: Saving the dragon kings : This chapter will be set in the SoulAuratale Au and Soul Sans will be seeking out for some help because both of the kings in this au had been captured and are in serious trouble and a team is needed to work together to save both of the kings and force the enemies out of the au and make sure they don't come back into the au again. The enemies being some kind of shadow werewolf race that are trying to over run the place and are kidnapping many of the monsters in this au to use them for lab tests subjects or to force them to do slave work. ( will need more chapter and name for chapters ideas to help me slowly add more as time goes and all pretty much but for sure all of my undertale aus that i made will be used in this story of course   ). Weekly Update: 3/11-3/19

Paragraphs ahead for: comic work, fan work, comic advice, advertising plans, gaming...

Jeez, why can't I seem to remember that Saturdays are when I'm supposed to post these? Aw well, at least it's being posted on a weekly basis, ja? So then, let's get into it...

I'm wrapping up the sketching portion of Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes' 7th page, and I've learned how to make lines less blurry: I need to alter the resolution before any potential drawing, and harden the lines for extra crispness. Hopefully, that fixes my little "fuzziness" problem...

Also, I've been thinking about blazing the entirety of Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes in a future post. I mean, I'll be doing a post with all the pages together, for viewer convenience, anyway. You see, I figured it'd be the best way to show my comic-related works to the world, via making posts with 50-ish comic "pages" to view. I know, I said I wouldn't do "blaze" posts with fan-related work, but work samples are work samples, ja? Hopefully, I'll have better luck in gathering a following and building up potential franchises, if I use the visual medium of comics, rather than simply posting chapter images with the accompanying paragraphs of literature.

Of course, I'm not just using a comic-styled medium for reasons of "easier attention-grabbing" alone, I also enjoy the idea of utilizing visuals/drawings than simple text walls. Why do you think I decided to add chapter images to Getting Your Goat, back when I stuck to mostly literary forms of entertainment? Plus, I feel like my art style would help my works be seen as more iconic/recognizable, compared to just a familiar writing style and the like. If you're gonna get anywhere, people gotta recognize your works as YOUR works, ja? Can't just rely on my blonde, little wolf-hybrid mascot to always tell you you're viewing something of mine.

Speaking of comic work, I really suggest doing it digitally for convenience sake. After all, do it traditionally and you'll be having a rougher/longer time altering outlines, panels and whatever else that'll take you a few seconds digitally. Sure, I won't tell you to fix what's not broken, nor am I demanding you forsake traditional art; but I will give recommendations where recommendations are seen fit. Of course, I don't want to forego traditional art myself, but I think I'll save it for reference sheets and other things that don't involve a bit more... "complexity," I guess is the word?

In relation to the workings of Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes, as well as the over all desire to make a fan comic series based on the "Assassin AU" of Ed Edd n Eddy, I admit a bit of nervousness toward people's potential reactions regarding Claire. No, I wanna include Claire and include her as is, so she's getting included and included as is: namely, animal-hybrids recently being made as the "perfect tool" for the organization's assassins.

Of course, there'd be hints the organization also plans to eventually make the dubbed "Werebeasts" independent enough, so it can MAKE its own and better brand of assassins, rather than spending the time/effort into abducting and grooming people as kids. At least, I think that's supposed to be the AU's backstory: they were taken by the spaceship, in the "Invasion of the Eds" episode, and "trained" into their assassin lifestyles?

However, you don't get anywhere in life when you're too scared to do anything, so I'll suck it up and see what happens. The important thing is, as long as Claire doesn't hog the spotlight nor be more Mary-Sue than character, it should be fine. Plus, I'm sure some of the EEnE fandom would appreciate the "Assassin AU" making a comeback, characters like Claire present or not.

In matters unrelated to creative workings, I've finally gotten Pizza Tower, and I love it! It's fun to take the slow, steady pacing of platforming while exploring the levels-- and then run like HECK, Sonic the Hedgehog style!! I don't think I'll go for all "P" ranks, nor even one, as I like my games to be fun. Instead, I'll go for the collectibles and find all the secrets!
