📱: a text exchange
(//Clementine does not own a Rotom Phone, but she does have a Holo Caster that her mother gave her before she left Johto. Therefore this exchange will be of Holo Caster messages.)
[🌻: Made it to the station fine, on the train now. ]
[🌻: I love you, Mama.❤️]
[🦋: (A holographic video of a woman in her mid thirties, with her artificially straightened auburn hair in an elegant bun and blue-green eyes. She looks nervously off into the distance every few seconds and has deep bags under her eyes that she’s obviously tried to hide with makeup. She looks into the camera and begins to speak, smiling, but almost fearfully so. “I love you too, my beautiful Clementine blossom. Stay safe in your new life, wherever it may take you, and don’t forget to look for beauty in the everyday. If you miss me and need to hear my voice again, go to “files” in your new Holo Caster and you’ll find the videos I put there for you, but Clementine, you must not message me again, for your safety, do you understand? So while this may be my last message to you, I hope that you remember me in all that you do, just as I will remember you, forever and always, because you will always be my little girl. Be safe, please, my dear.” She sniffs back tears before pressing the “end cast” button, but not before a single tear escapes down her right cheek.)]
[🌻: (A holographic video of a teenage Clementine on a train, with her ginger hair braided elegantly to tame her curls. She is crying over the loss of her mother, but it’s obvious she’s also nervously excited for the journey ahead of her. She speaks into the camera with a tremor in her voice and tears brimming in her slate-grey eyes. “Goodbye, Mama. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for my sake-one day, soon, when I have a place to call my own, I’ll find you and bring you to it so it can be our home. I love you, and will never forget you, and I’ll take you home with me as soon as I can, I promise, Mama, I’ll-“ She stops speaking and starts crying more heavily, and the video cuts off from there.)]

a text: am I allowed to let charizard out on the balcony to show someone?
Tumblr media
A text? Who in the world would be texting her, knowing that she is hosting an event of such a grand scale? A few, hushed pardons leave the heroine’s mouth, making her way off to the side-- away from most others-- before daring to bring her Holo Caster out and scan over the message. How curious-- why would Red be messaging her? Perhaps, she thinks, something has gone wrong, and he feels the need to reach out this way in lieu of hunting her down first. Pale lips turn downwards ever so slightly, yet before they can properly form any kind of pout, grey eyes flicker over the text sent her way, and such a heavy kind of worry is quick to dissipate.
He is just asking to let a pokemon out.
A small sigh of relief passes from Serena’s form, and with a short glance tossing itself in the direction of where most others dance-- specifically, to an area where a variety of pokemon seem to be having a grand time--, she cannot find any reason to say that he cannot. Perhaps the tip of a Charizard’s tail might be cause for alarm, esepcially when she does not know how much spatial awareness the creature has, but surely nothing could go wrong, right? From what the blonde has heard, Red is not irresponsible enough to set fire to the balcony.
‘I can’t see why that would be a problem. I mean... there are pokemon dancing on the ballroom floor. Just make sure nothing catches fire.’

heart eyes
motha f*cka
So yikes! like exactly one month late... here’s lacewoodweek day 2 prompt: hand/heart!
< Complete the heart!
“There!  I sent it!  Now to wait the minute and forty-eight seconds to follow up with ‘Oh no! That was for Emma!!’  So I don’t look desperate.”
“Because nothing says ‘I am totally not desperate’ like sitting with a stop watch to perfectly time your next text.  Yup.” Shauna said while emphatically smacking her gum and flipping through a magazine.  Serena flopped back into her pillows and clutched her holo caster to her chest and prayed that the picture she sent looked good enough.
“Do you think I sent the right one?  What if he doesn’t like it?  Was I showing too much leg?  Not enough leg?  Did it look like I was trying too hard?”
Shauna belly flopped onto her best friend and started patting her hair.  “Serena, you were trying very hard.  We took like 400 pictures.  And curled your hair.  And you then you put on lip gloss and kissed your mug so it wouldn’t look like you had just put on lip gloss.  You tried so hard.”
“Yah, but like, it’s fine to try, I just don’t want it to look like I was trying, you know?  Like it should look like I’m just winding down for the night and being silly with my best friend.  It’s like, I don’t want to look thirsty, just slightly parched maybe.”
Shauna rolled her eyes then rolled over Serena; her elbows sinking into her stomach causing her to buckle and replace her perfectly disheveled look with actual dishevelment. She still looked cute, with her freshly made up then washed face with lingering eyeliner and mascara that made her eyes really pop without looking heavy.  “Check your stop watch; you may have left that last message too long.” Shauna giggled as she poked fun at Serena.
Frantically Serena practically threw the stopwatch in trying to see the time. Shauna was right; it was now three minutes and one second, two seconds, three seconds—since she had sent the picture! She had to send the follow up.
Augustine had received a text message!  Most of his friends and colleagues preferred to call or email if it wasn’t urgent, so the sound alerting him to a text aroused nothing but suspicion.  Upon opening said text and downloading its accompanying picture, however, he could no longer just say it was just his suspicions that were aroused.  Brief instructions were followed by a picture of Serena who was apparently home in Vaniville. At first he noticed her face.  Her eyes looked so bright and her lashes so long, even though it was late and she was surely getting ready for bed.  Her smile was radiant as ever and the slight tilt of her head to the side was so endearing he thought he would die.  He tried not to look at it too closely.  It surely wasn’t meant for him.
He tried so hard.
The next thing he noticed was her hair.  It had been piled atop her head but little tendrils spilled out in luscious curls cascading around her face and shoulders.  The curls looked almost too perfect to have just fallen so, but then again, of course her hair would fall like that. Everything she did was perfect.
He set his holo caster down and tried to return to the paper he was writing on his laptop.
The third thing he noticed were her legs.  Bare and slim.  She sat cross-legged in the shortest of shorts on a fluffy bedspread.  Pillows seemed artfully arranged beneath and around her.  What he would give to be just one of those pillows.
Everything within him told him the picture was not meant for his eyes.  However… it had been several minutes since he received it and no further response, perhaps… maybe, possibly, it just might be, that maybe he was meant to see it?  The longer he looked at it the more he noticed how perfect Serena looked.  More perfect than was practical or probable. He quickly ran through how many perfectly poised things he saw in the picture and briefly wondered how he could collect enough data to draw statistical significance on whether or not this picture could have happened randomly before running his fingers through his fringe and snapping a picture and sending it back to her.
Her move.
Serena was still trying to retrieve her stolen holo caster from Shauna when she got the text.
“Ooooh he sent a pic! Do you think it’s his… baguette?”
Serena could have punched Shauna.
“Give it back!”  She reached over the brunette and snagged the holo caster out of reach and quickly opened the picture.  It was blessedly the Professor’s face.  He looked tired—more so than usual—with his long fingers carded through his hair.  She desperately wished he’d run his fingers through her hair.  He had a goofy sideways grin and it was captioned “I don’t think this was for me?” with an alien emoji.  She’d have to parse the emoji later, but for now, all she could focus on was his face!
“Shauna, I know I’ve said this like one thousand times but he is literally the most beautiful man who has ever lived.  Look. Look upon his face and tell me I’m wrong.  You can’t. He’s that handsome.”  Serena held her holo caster up reverently for Shauna to see.  She was less impressed.
“I bet you’re still sad it’s not his dick though.”
“SHAUNA!”

Rather than going the boring route of a birthday card and a physical present, it seems Lysandre has gone with another option: a text message with an image file attached! And within that image is the smaller male, whipped cream across his chest with two glace cherries placed 'tastefully' atop it. His face isn't completely visible, but it's clear to see it's him from the beard and the tongue sticking out and bearing the silver bar through it. The message reads: "Happy birthday! Café's open ;) x"
He’d just gotten a fresh mug of coffee, one that was thankfully devoid of glitter. However, when he checked the new message he got on his holo caster, he was mid-sip and immediately choked on it, sputtering and getting coffee on his already glitter-covered clothes. WELL, he was not expecting that!!
Choking aside though, it was certainly effective in making him want to drop everything and pay a visit... After a quick shower at least, he must have looked a complete glittery mess!

Serena ran to catch up with her old friend. Truth be told, she'd rather have no other valentine than Shauna.
*beep beep*
Serena glanced at her Holo Caster. Mable. Shit! Serena couldn't skip any duties with Team Flare --- she was the newest member and she was 12, and most of Flare hated her already for both of those. However, Serena didn't want to let Shauna think anything was suspicious, and she really wanted to spend time with her friend.
"Shauna! I have to take a message in private!"
Serena called out to her friend, hoping she would wait.
Tumblr media
Serena looked at her Holo Caster. Text Messages: 1. Thank Arceus, Mable knows not to make cast calls when I'm in public!
The message turned out to be just a warning of a security incident that happened at the Geosenge Base. It was irrelevant for Serena and for her plans for the day.
"Shauna?"
Serena hoped Shauna had waited for her. There was enough distance that her text message would not have been seen.
fiery-princess-serena:
Serena was quite happy with the candy exchange. Sure, she felt bad because the candy hearts she gave Shauna didn’t compare to the chocolate bar Shauna got her, but she was with her best friend, and that was all that mattered.
“Would you like to go to the park by the Prism Tower? We can eat our candy together. Unless you have an actual date that conflicts, of course.”
Shauna giggles. “I’m always free to hang out with you~!”
Truth be told, she’d been kind of hoping her friend would want to spend time with her today… Not to say that she’d hoped Serena didn’t have her own date, just that she liked being reassured that she’s important… Well.
She runs ahead, turning to wave at Serena and call “Hurry~!”
