​no! vashj embraced that transformation fully, so it's one of the few things i think she does not resent azshara for doing. ultimately, it allowed them to survive - but, as she says in sl, her time as naga also allowed her to be seen and acknowledged for more than her beauty, something that is deeply meaningful to her. as kaldorei, all she was seen for was being beautiful. as a naga, she was seen for her strength and cunning and resolve.

i don't think she was happy from the start. she was likely bitter, at first. but ultimately she came to appreciate her new form. if azshara didn't make that deal, they'd have all died, and she wouldn't even have gotten to live free of azshara's own influence. her end wasn't the better, but she does appreciate her time in outland and as part of illidan's forces, something that wouldn't happen if they weren't turned.

but even though azshara sold them out, i think it's pretty clear vashj never held any regard or respect or willingness to serve the old gods themselves. she remained as a servant of azshara - until she finally left her behind as well. if anything, i feel vashj would resent azshara more for being stupid and vain enough to force them to stay in the palace when that was a death sentence, as well as all the other atrocities she may have done in their life before. the deal that ended up with them turned into naga is one of the things she'd resent the less (although, surely enough, despite coming to appreciate her new form, vashj would never have been happy about the fact that was never her choice).

she would love it! generally speaking she is just. the kind of person who's not just a knowledge-seeker, but a lover of knowledge. sindragosa loved learning, and valued research and similar activities so much she was the one responsible by the archives. but in that sense, she was never simply a hoarder; the preservation of all that knowledge was also for it to be shared, something she would always defend as the right thing to do (in life, at least).

her interactions with kalec indicate she'd be a great teacher, as well (and i feel it's the sort of thing she would have loved and would have acted on as frequently as she could). she'd love to share her knowledge, but more than that, she's patient and caring and ready to encourage curiosity, to offer guidance and support for students to be able to take matters in their own hands, helping them grow and improve.

the way her simulacrum acts towards him, i also think it's obvious she was very motherly towards the young ones in her own flight, but honestly i think she'd be that gentle and caring and supportive, that she'd easily assume that sort of mentor role, towards anyone who loved to learn or wished to dedicate themselves to research. so i think she'd enjoy being in a teacher sort of position, and i think she'd do really well in it also.

it is not natural, nor even common, for him to find himself in the company of the boss without some kind of other party involved. typically he would linger obediently at the colonel’s side, studious and silent, watching every moment with a dutiful gaze. it was a façade, of course — a pretty face is always disarming, unassuming, even when the beholder has blood on their hands ( or their teeth. ) his leg muscles always primed for movement, his fingers twitching for the trigger of his makarov.

the boss is american. defector or not, her blood runs star-spangled, and raikov cannot bring himself to believe in her supposed allegiance to their cause. the colonel would chide him if he knew, the same as he had when ivan had expressed such disdain and concern at the sudden appearance of sokolov's mistress. and it is that which keeps him silent.

❛ they're called the star of bethlehem, a type of lily. ornithogalum. ❜ it's mindless. wrinkled brow maintained with a prominent frown. gloved hand holds a singular one, spinning stem between index and thumb. movements are always done in just a way that makes her seem, sharper, more aware than others. in fact most wouldn't have heard the approach, but there's a reason she is, who she is after all.

Centurion of the Iron Legion, Warmaster of the Vigil, Commander of the Pact, and founder of Dragon's Watch. The main story gal, and surprisingly normal despite all that. Kind, strong-willed, and a lover of all animals, but especially her smokescale, Snips. Firmly retired after the events of EoD, and enjoying a long and well-earned vacation.

GAVROS SCROLLSEEKER // Guardian - Firebrand // [tag]

Esteemed Magister of the Durmand Priory. Once a fearless explorer, delving the unknown in pursuit of magical artifacts, he now prefers the comfortable life of the research division. An avid scholar, he's never found without a book (or three) in hand. Despite his years, he's still quite the sharp combatant, happy to dole out his finely-aged wisdom at the end of a mace.

FELIX LIGHTFORGE // Engineer - Holosmith // [tag]

A misfit soldier of the Blood Legion, and later the Pact. Born with physical defects that would have seen him cast aside if not for the support of his warband. To overcome his perceived weakness, he devoted himself to studying holosmithing techniques, building his own Photon Forge as well as a set of light-powered mobility aids.

SOREX GRAVEWHISPER // Necromancer - Reaper // [tag]

A grousy old necromancer. After losing her warband to a ghost ambush, she became fixated on harnessing the Foefire for herself, and was banished from the Legions for unapproved tampering with spectral magic. She now spends her days hunting down ghosts and exploring ancient ruins with her soulmate, Vitalis.

VEDRIX RUINWRAITH // Thief - Deadeye // [tag]

Ex-Ash Legion. Part of a special warband tasked with hunting down and eliminating Legion traitors, deserters, and other undesirables on the quiet. Eventually he found himself on the wrong side of a job, and rather than become hunted himself, went into hiding. He ended up in Elona, where he took up a living as a freelance bounty hunter. Years later, he still has a massive chip on his shoulder regarding his former bosses.

DECIMA SPIRESOUL // Revenant - Renegade // [tag]

Once a disabled gladium, discarded by the Legions after nearly-fatal battle injuries left her no longer fit to serve their purposes. Her scrape with death caused her to develop strange magics, driving her into seclusion for many years. Now, she serves the Dominion as a formidable Centurion of the Frost Legion. Eager to enact retribution on those who cast her aside, her heart is as cold as the frigid magic that suffuses her body.

LIFEBINDER RANUK // Ranger - Druid // [tag]

A wandering Olmakhan healer, with a special interest in rare plants. He is extremely adverse to combat, relying on the strength of his pets and defensive nature magic to escape dangerous situations. Despite this, he is often found deep in the wilds of Tyria, braving the unknown to get even a glimpse at a unique specimen.

SANDSHAPER URIAH // Necromancer - Scourge // [tag]

An elderly Olmakhan shaman, one of many charr killed in an Awakened attack on Althoma. His body was taken and later raised as a part of Joko's army, made to fight against his own kin in the Battle of Gandara. Now free of the lich's influence, he lives as a lonely hermit in the Kournan desert, too tormented by the guilt of what he'd done to return home.

estranged is even a far off explanation of whatever they were . nerves settle white hot on skin , carving their way down to bone . he sits , stressed & intimidated before her . watching the way she so easily works herbs & minerals into things . questions burn at his mind , but unlike uncle . . . she is quiet , hardly speaks at all . it is unlike dismissive or harsh disappointed silence . it is comforting . the weight of sincerity in time spent . wordlessly preparing things to the prince's preferences . tea made just right . adjusting distance to ensure he's comfortable .

it hurts in a way . familiar ache of what it would've been like to be raised by the two of them rather than his own parents . what it would've been like to have been able to accept unconditional love much sooner in life . perhaps that is why lu ten was so playful , so laid back . but he too had a mother driven away by choices that still haunt her . ever present in the sadness lingering in golden hues . zuko cannot bring himself to speak . grip tightens on fabric against thighs . fearful that if he does , it will be to needlessly apologize .

good afternoon I’m here to talk shadowlands today (but only the parts I like):

in the night fae campaign, tyrande agrees to let you help save night elf souls sent unjustly to torghast/the maw. for my portrayal, this is not a given. she will not trust someone affiliated with the horde to do something so important, and she doesn’t care to hear what you may have to say about making things right. I personally think she’d be iffy even towards people from the alliance, depending on who they are. if you’re a nelf you’re good, if you’re gilnean you’re probably good, but the rest? not necessarily.

alleria? I can’t decide what she’s doing while everything’s on fire. taking a vacation in elwynn forest maybe. y’all can save the world this time, she’ll pass (I don’t blame her tbh look at this shitshow)

I think tiffin is the one I have a better structured sort of idea for shadowlands? she died many years ago, but the ascension process seems to be like... not easy? so she was in bastion for a while and ultimately she ascended as a forsworn because she would not let go of her memories. still, she’s one of those who followed devos without knowing about the mawsworn, because what devos intended and what they believed they were doing (reforming a flawed system that forced them to let go of what was important to them and gave them strength in life) is something she’d absolutely fight for, but she was never a ‘the end justifies the means’ type of person and siding with the jailer forces isn’t something she’d do. so once the kyrian campaign progresses and the kyrian realize change in their path is necessary, I think she’d no longer see a reason to oppose them.

alex should go to shadowlands but I’m still figuring that out. I do believe after the news from ysera she would want to see her sister again, and even before that, with the huge problems going on and all, I think she’d try to do her part to keep the universe safe. even initially, when it comes to just saving the kidnapped leaders --- she cares a lot for thrall, and I think she’d like to help.

kelantir is in bastion, but she’s not one of the ascended. she died fairly recently so she’s not an angel yet. unlike tiffin, who I think would want to keep all her memories, because even the bad things are important to who she ended up being, I think there are things kelantir would maybe like to forget, but they weight on her too much for her to be able to do so, even then. 

come find her chilling in bastion (maybe helping to save the universe too, probably)

lorna would go to the shadowlands to help tbh. if taelia and calia got there later, lorna can too -- except I don’t think she’d be content to wait in oribos, she’d want to actually go help. given she’s not a champion with an ability to enter and leave the maw at will, she wouldn’t go there I guess, unless someone took her with them. but in the covenants and etc she’d definitely go help. and if we get some info on how to fuck up sylvanas’ plans on the way that’s all the better.

besides, if sylv ran away to the shadowlands it’s a joke gilneas wouldn’t send someone. look at what they did in legion. let lorna be that person thanks.

She loves to watch them learn how to fly; it’s definitely her favorite. It is likely one of the earliest things they learn, but it is also something very important for dragons, and flying is in itself one of the things she most enjoys doing, so she’s always eager to see the babies being able to enjoy it too. Besides, there is something of incredibly endearing in watching the little whelps try in spite of fear, and most of all in witnessing them succeed, even if in unsteady wings that won’t keep them up for long. She is a Mom and loves children in general and loves watching them learn and grow but the process of learning how to fly is her absolute favorite.

   There was nothing left of the one she had known. Nothing. Alexstrasza would convince herself of it, remember every deed borne of madness, every action too atrocious, lest she forget nothing of Xarentia had survived. Because at times the other would speak things (things like this); so odd and terrible, so full of possibilities. 

   Possibilities that weren’t all bad, that Alexstrasza would always wish to believe, to deceive herself into thinking possible. 

   She would be wrong, of course. And then she would have to learn once again that no salvation was attainable, and that all bonds they might have shared aged to dust long ago. There was no place for wishful thinking for one in her position. The Crimson Queen would perish, those who opposed Xarentia with her; she would fail her duty to this world, fail all who believed in her. Did not matter if the Obsidian Queen would find it in herself to mourn, if Alexstrasza’s death would feel as a necessary sacrifice made with a heavy heart, as Alexstrasza herself would have felt, were situation reversed. Did not matter even if killing her left an open wound in Xarentia’s heart, if it would bleed long after life had left her.

   That Xarentia could be able of caring still mattered naught if in the end she was too blinded and lost to see the error of her ways. It made no difference if she would kill all who opposed her regardless, if her empire would be built no matter what. 

   She is beyond salvation, and you know it. Madness has too deep a grasp upon her, just as it has in every other black, just as it had in Neltharion. Even if her heart bleeds out for you when she watches you dying, those feelings are not enough to change her heart. 

   She’s one more in your long list of failures.

   The red dragon’s expression is filled with sorrow; a grief so overwhelming she cannot hide, cannot even think of trying. Xarentia will likely think her sadness is for herself; for the fate that nears with each passing second, fate she will share with what is left of her flight (Xarentia would be wrong). No, Alexstrasza’s heart weeps for her, new ruler of this world, she who is as divine as she is profane. It is Xarentia she grieves; even if heartbreak is, in smaller part, for herself as well. The weight of guilt in face of another of her failures, of another one she’s disappointed. No words answer the black dragon; whatever Alexstrasza could say, it would not be enough and it would not matter.

   If afterlife will reunite her to Ysera and Korialstrasz, it will be more than she deserves.
