“this is hard! because really, i think i have different tastes than the general population, but i’m gonna go with how i feel because this is about me. coming in first is….miss lee sooyeon! shocker, right? aside from the fact that we’re bound to marriage by an imaginary contract, she’s one of the closest to me! so it’d be easier to date her because really, there’s not that many secrets with us. she’s really pretty and fun to be around - also keeps it very real! but her downside is i think that if i screwed her over she would try to attack me with like….a butterknife. she’s got so much pent up aggression in that little body, so i’m not gonna lie….a little scared of her. very chaotic energy. next is…soojin! she’s so cute, like so cute, so i’d definitely get some really good girlfriend pics out of that relationship. but we did kind of….hate each other for a long time, so there’s always going to be a bit of awkwardness there. next is miss nari, she just takes the meaning of gorgeous to a whole new level and i can’t believe she’s real! plus, we’ve been rooming together for all this time, just the two of us, so i can’t say there’s much we don’t know about each other by now. her only disadvantage is that we might spend so much time together already that dating each other would be an overkill. then there’s sister ruan, who i’m only ranking so low because we’re like family! but also like….she’s definitely very gorgeous, and i love her to death. since we’re so close i think our relationship would be successful because we could talk things out and i think we bond over our mutual hatred for the same types of people. jiae’s after that, we’ve got this thing where we look out for each other and i know she’s got my back and i got her’s, so that’s great for a relationship. her downfall is that i think her fans would try to break up our relationship. next up is hinata because - well, have you seen her? visual goddess, for one, but it’s like my happy and childish side comes out when she’s around. it’s really nice, plus i feel like we have a lot to talk about and she helps me with my japanese! but she doesn’t like girls, and if she moves back to japan that could be a huge damper on our relationship…..unless i came, of course. such a shame, right? i almost feel like i’m committing a sin putting arabella so low, but she’s so powerful she can get with like...anyone and i don’t know if i can take that. then there’s siyeon, who’s ranked so low because let’s start with the fact that….well, she doesn’t like girls either. but aside from that, being the leader means she’s in control of all of us a lot of times, and as much as i love her it makes her feel like my mom. and i….wouldn’t date my mom.”

the last time yujin’s ever seen sooyeon around was for shared house where she would make frequent guest appearances thanks to joosung. she’d always been vocal about her love for the younger female as well as her group, but she’s never really had the opportunity to befriend her though she’s always wanted to. with their promotions overlapping this time around, she’s hoping that her little leap of courage will prove to be successful. 

standing outside sooyeon’s dressing room, she takes a deep breath before knocking on the door. maybe she should have brought sung with her. he would probably have been able to lighten up what she thinks will be a slightly awkward atmosphere. when she’s allowed in, she remembers to present her the signed cd that the members have prepared. her manager thought it was weird that yujin so actively volunteered to take it to sooyeon even though the group would most likely have to go greet her as a group anyway. seniority or whatever.

No one is surprised to see Sooah being all excited about the activities anymore. She was always walking from one side to the other, talking to people, or doing some of the classes they made available to the idols. To put it simply, she was enjoying the little break as much as she could while she could before they had to go back to the busy and rushed life that awaited her back home. It almost felt like she was on a school trip if she ever went on one, after all, she had already debuted when she was in high school, and going to places with her schoolmates wasn’t really a possibility at the time.

Compared to her roommate, Sooah was simply overly excited. Somehow, every time Sooah saw Sooyeon, either in their room or in some quiet place outside, the other was asleep and Sooah quite understood why that was the case. If she wasn’t mistaken, Wish would start touring and with how close together their comebacks usually are, it would come to no surprise if they started preparing their next song soon. But Sooah had pilates class and there was no one else she could have asked to make her company and somehow, she had managed to drag Sooyeon from all people to a more exciting activity than sleeping.

They were on a little break and Sooah felt her muscles aching a little from all the exercise when she finally looked at her companion, “I should have taken you to a less demanding class now that I think about it, are you okay?”

Being the performer that he was, Samsoo was excited for the festival concert. Even though Unity would only be performing three songs, it was still exciting for him because he hadn’t performed with his members in a few weeks. While a lot of idols would have taken that time to enjoy their little break, it had made Soo pretty antsy. He didn’t like not having work - it reminded him too much of the long gap between comebacks Unity had towards the beginning of their career. No comebacks, very few personal schedules, it was like a personal hell for Soo. He was just glad they were being given work now, even if it seemed like a lot. He wandered around the backstage of the venue, stopping short when he spotted a familiar figure near one of the snack tables. He came up behind her, gently tapping her on the shoulder to get her attention. “A little birdie told me that you guys are performing your new song - is that true?” He asked, snagging one of the little bags of snacks from off the table for himself.

“wait, are you even old enough to have cocktails?” it’s an odd question, but it’s also the first thing that comes to her mind upon seeing the younger female. she couldn’t remember sooyeon’s exact age mainly because she just knows that she’s younger than her by quite a lot of years. sooyeon could turn thirty, and suji would still think that she was twenty. that’s just how she appeared to her. 

she shakes her head a few times, realizing that the question could have come out sounding rude. “sorry. this is just me forgetting peoples’ ages. sometimes i can’t even remember my own age. someone will ask me how old i am, and i’ll blank out for a moment before doing the math in my head,” she explains, hoping that it doesn’t sound like too much of an excuse because it was quite true. with each year that passed, suji has started thinking less and less of her age.

comebacks are always an exciting thing. as much as she’s been doing this for almost five years, sophie still finds it in her to get excited about the possibility of releasing new music, of shooting a new music video, of offering new content for the fans. she enjoys the outcome almost as much as she enjoys the process – it’s inevitable for her to enjoy all the new clothes, the make up, the hair. sophie’s enjoyed being pampered and made to look good since she was a little girl and it’s not different now, as a grown up. being an idol makes it so that she has a lot of opportunities to look pretty, to have people take care of her, and that’s about half of the fun of comeback preparations.

if she thought they reached peak elegance with the fancy mv, sophie definitely wasn’t ready for everything involving the feel special one. as much as she sometimes misses their earlier concepts, she can’t lie and say she doesn’t enjoy the more mature looks. “ sooyeonie, ” sophie calls out for the maknae as she sees her getting ready, taking a seat next to the girl. “ are you going to shoot your solo parts now? you look so pretty, is that flower crown yours? ”

    he was a tad bit nervous, yet also excited. his compositons never really were out there. they were files that he kept to himself, things that he had written down. but, he had gotten the chance to show off a new skill that he was studying in his free time when he didn’t have things to do; on top of the fact that he was in the midst of learning english as well. but, that wasn’t important, what was important was the composing. but, nonetheless, it was exciting that he got to do; especially with and for sooyeon, a song that he was featuring on. he was basically beaming. 

they sat within the room, one of his favorite work rooms within bc entertainment. it would of been nice if was a home studio, but, duri was still working on getting a home studio set up within his home. he just couldn’t decide how to do it or what to do; but, he was working on it. his feet sat upon the chair, eyes looking upon the screens that were sat in front of the two, his lip sinking into his bottom lip. he was becoming familiar with the program really quickly, it was very close to what he usually uses on his home computer. once he knew all the buttons and where everything was, he was good to go. “are you ready?” he asked the smaller girl, looking upon her moments later. 

“where do you think we should start?” he asked, before his feet touch the ground, rolling over to the piano; his perferred instrument. “maybe we should try some different things out?” he suggested, eyes looking upon the keyboard piano. “something is telling me... create an opening beat with a piano... a piano that has a bit of a jazzy sound?”

IDOL HEADCANONS - accepting!

Jiwon is the type to run far away from the spotlight, disappearing off the face of the earth as soon as she is no longer under a company. Although music has been an enormous part of jiwon's life, she's not interested in extending her contract and pursuing a solo career after 7rophy ends. She's likely to attempt to become either a dance instructor or a vocal coach, as both are things she's been passionate about for years on end. Being a dance instructor would be the first choice since she doesn't consider her singing to be all that great but takes great pride in her dancing and work ethic. Hopefully, by the time that even comes around, she would have reconciled with her parents. She'd sacrificed her relationship with her parents to become an idol, but she still wants to have them in her life.

There wouldn't be much change in comparison to how she lives currently, as she values simplicity. Jiwon would've moved somewhere close to home at the first chance possible in hopes of finding who she was before becoming an idol. Just like any other person, she desires to have kids and to get married one day. She wants a big family that hopefully got along as well as hers did in her younger years. She learned from her parents in regards to what to do and what not to do while raising kids. Getting married in itself will be a challenge for Jiwon, looking at her past luck with dating. But since she isn't an idol anymore, she'd be more confident in pursuing different relationships, potentially finding love. She is most likely to become a serial dater, which would've caused many scandals if she was still a public figure. What she lacks in experience, she would be educated through that period in her life. When she finally decides to settle down, you can believe that she'd be head over heels in love, planning their dream wedding 24/7.

is it okay to explain that she has no career goal in mind? for most of her life, she’s been a girl that plays make believe and fills the shoes of what’s to be expected of her - sometimes, she’s girl on fire, and other times, she’s gone girl. of course, at times she feels like a phony for only playing a life long game of charades hidden behind a mask, but fuse has been her permanent home for the past six years and she sees no issues with that.

if there was anything career related, it might have to be related to fuse’s concepts. zimzalabim was the bane of her existence and she’d be terrified to have to repeat that era again. adding more darker concepts would’ve been preferred, but once again - that’s not really a goal, is it? 

maybe if anything, she’d want to dive more into solo work without restraints. for some unknown reason, gold star has allowed her to have a lot of creative control over her first solo, and for that she’s eternally grateful. however, she knows that if it flops, she’ll only be subjected to being told what to do and what to sing. so it’s really a blind eye and a free fall into the unknown at this point. but she doesn’t care about ratings or any of the charts, what she wants is a niche band of loyal fans who appreciate her eclectic taste of music crafting.

what can anyone say about a girl who is a jack of all trades? she’s exceptional, brilliant. but she’s not. she carries few skills, but really random ones that usually attract a lot of hype on variety shows. she’s good at drawing, painting and creating. pottery, she creates beautiful plates and vases for her flowers. painting, her favorite medium is water color, and she does a lot of abstract ephemeral colors. sketching, she can draw free handedly a strikingly uncanny realistic portrait of someone.  it’s mainly her outlet to relieve stress and the only thing she recalls ever resorting to in times of high stress. 

another thing is her flexibility. over the years, she’s dabbled in different things such as yoga, personal training, boxing, snowboarding, skateboarding, etc. but she’s never really found anything as entertaining as pilates and pole dancing. this in turn has increased her flexibility, which might just be a hidden talent.

the last talent, if you can call it that, is her poker face. she’s really good at hiding what she’s thinking. never one to reveal her cards to anyone, she’s able to tell people something while thinking about an entirely different concept. multitasking at its finest, and she’ll never divulge the secret to that one.

when she had gotten a lot of shit for her odd artistic drawings, there were a select few fans who remained true and defended her. they told off the antis in the comments sections, berating those who dragged her down. they were the first to remain steadfast, and offer words of reassurances of how they still loved her as an idol. although this wasn’t a direct interaction, it was one of the times that made her heart warm up knowing that she still had people on her side.

another good fan experience was when she was unsure of her singing ability as she had been taught to sing again and rework her voice. where once she thought she was the best singer in the world, she found solace when a fan slipped her a note saying to fight on and how much she admired her voice. they pegged her as an underrated vocal, one that’s like glass meant to be protected not shattered. it was the little things that she’s kept close to heart.

perhaps another good fan experience can be during fan signings when fans actually light up in front of her. although she has an apathetic nature by heart, she plays the role of a happy idol very well. when she’s subjected to these events, she adapts just like anyone else would. the glows on the fans’ faces and their little teary eyed expressions do make a mark by making her budge the slightest bit in her stone heart.

“sooyeooooon!” joosung felt heat creep up in his cheeks as almost everyone in his immediate area turned towards him. his hand, that had waved up in the air, slowly came back down. he gave a couple apologetic head nods to the people around him, before jogging up to sooyeon and linking an arm in her much-lower one. “you were so amazing! i didn’t know there would be a new song debut!” he paused, to unlink their arms and do a halfhearted version of one of the moves he’d seen, while he sung, “i feel so speciaaal.” honestly, as much as he wanted to greet all of his friends backstage, he wanted desperately to be in the car in an hour so he could watch the music video when it came out. “oh! and i saw the setlist for the show on sunday. are you performing there too?” there wasn’t much point in asking when he had seen her name on the setlist, but it came out anyway. “if i remember, i think you’re going to go right before our group. it’s like you’re introducing us. --wow, i’d be so lucky.”

oddly enough since debuting in 2008, taejin feels at ease during variety show recordings. from old school star king to the modern day knowing brothers or even weekly idol, there’s a formula for each recording that makes everything go smoother as the years pass on. 

personally, he’s recognized as a pretty good and sometimes boring with now polite he remains on the shows. on knowing brothers, they always make fun of him for his perfection that he promotes on stage and off with his acting roles. they complain that his face and persona are unachievable, leaving many girls with high held expectations that the average man cannot fill. but he tries his best to add humor with a twist of words and surprised expressions, but to be honest he’s now 30, so expecting him to make a fool out of himself is out of line with who he is as a person.

during decipher’s run in variety shows, he expects the other members to provide the humor while he just watches and puts on his ‘dad grin’. when it’s his turn to talk, he’ll talk but it just consists of him talking about the tragic early days in their careers where they were forced to wear weird outfits and really weird hair styles.

his favorite variety show is probably radio star because of how nosy they are. it’s funny to see the hosts pry into personal matters, and make ridiculous accusations to elicit a reaction. he’s trained not to divulge too much but it’s still fun to play along.

the self proclaimed king of image making. he’s been really good to keep his status clean as an idol, never once to get into a dating scandal nor step forth in the world of general scandals. he’s laid low for most of his careers and the crimes of his past were paid off by his parents. the public sees him as the boyfriend, or the wanted son-in-law. he has this clean and fresh image that makes a lot of hearts flutter, and the roles he plays in the dramas doesn’t hurt his image as well.

they see him as a very mom’s friend type because he’s always having a great smile on his face, and he’s polite to cameras. sometimes, hosts will call him out for being boring but in the eyes of elderly women, he’s the ideal type for their daughters. plus, after the success of his acting endeavors, many women have called him their ideal type. perhaps it’s his physique that puts him at 185 cm, and an extremely good build, people tend to fall for his boyish charms and eye smiles.

mainly his fan base consists of mid-twenties to mid-thirties. this gives him an overall mature aspect to his look. plus, decipher’s fan base is older as they were an older group to debut with. oddly enough, there is a group of older women in their late forties that tend to be fans because of all the dramas that he’s starred in.

overall, you could say his public image is pristine.

he is decipher’s lead vocal, and leader. however, he was chosen as lead vocal for his innate talents in singing. from a young age, he wasn’t really well-versed in singing, never envisioning it as a hobby or a pursuit for the future. when he decided to audition for bc, he sang and they were taken aback at the natural talent he possessed.

naturally he is higher pitched (references to hwang minhyun of nuest), which is a stark contrast to his talking voice which remains low. it’s not singing in falsetto, but just how his vocal chords operate moving around as he sings. bc’s taken advantage of this too, as they’ve taught him to control his voice and add power to it accordingly.

however, there are limitations to his voice as it’s not entirely powerful like eunjae’s. but that’s why they’re the main vocal and he’s only lead. truthfully, he doesn’t mind singing, but just doesn’t see it as a viable option for pursuing a future career based on solos. it’s more of a humming in the shower and walking around the house.

overall, his voice sounds like honey and there’s no doubt about it. but you’ll never find him flaunting it on a variety show or really doing much with it. if anything, he’ll just sing as he’s told and the lines that are given to him.

ash's public image has been very carefully crafted over the years, but not by ash himself. the mysterious image he’d been given at debut wasn’t thrust on him for his visuals (he was considered cute at debut, but he didn’t grow into being widely considered handsome or sexy until rather recently) like it is for many, but so that management didn’t have to worry about him doing anything too stupid. even as a teenager, management sensed that ash had potential to ruin himself in an industry with such strict standards for its idols to uphold. 

nowadays, his image is a collection of adjectives more than anything, but they form a more full image of a person than the two-dimensional label slapped on him at debut. taeyong is artistic, sexy in that heartbroken, makes-you-want-to-fix-him way, a little edgy but not too edgy to be an idol, and still mysterious. it serves him well. it matches the music he puts out and has developed a niche to market him for cfs and brand deals. it doesn’t lend itself to many offers to guest on variety, but, considering ash’s history in that area, it’s all the better for not raising anyone expectations for him to make frequent non-performance television appearances.

“wow, sooyeon, did you bring these back from your holiday?” wide-eyed, minhee leans in closer to sooyeon to get a better look at the chocolates. anyone would think she hadn’t eaten in days ... on the contrary, minhee just has a massive appetite and an even bigger sweet tooth. if bc try to say anything about her diet, she’ll just shrug her shoulders and vaguely apologize. after all, she’s fostering some good inter-company relationships right here, isn’t she? “they look so expensive. can i try one?” 

all minhee brought as a housewarming gift was a selection of herbal teas and a framed picture of her cat that she immediately planted in the living room. “i can’t believe you’re showing me up like this!” she jokes, nudging sooyeon gently.

“the song’s not even out yet, and i already know it’s going to hit number one on the charts. it’s just one of those feel good songs.” sooyeon’s made her listen to a song she insists is a “friend’s”, but hyeju’s known the younger female for too long to notice when she’s not being completely truthful. plus, the vocal tone was obviously sooyeon herself, and so she can’t tell why she’s trying to convince her otherwise. however, hyeju decides to let her have it. maybe she just needed an honest opinion, and she knows that hyeju is the one to go for those. 

sitting back on the couch in the middle of the company building, she swings an arm around sooyeon before gently patting her shoulder in assurance. “this friend of your’s nervous to release a new song?” she thinks about adding in how she was nervous before her own release, but that would be a lie. hyeju rarely got nervous. “you should tell them that they shouldn’t be because it’s really good. i think a lot of people will like it.”

There were a few upsides to being born the only girl in a family full of guys, one of them being that there was such a heavy emphasis on sports and working out. From a young age, she’d been playing sports and being physical active, which had kept her in shape for the majority of her life. That, paired with her fortunately rather fast metabolism, allowed Yaebin to stay in shape while eating virtually whatever she wanted. Even though Gold Star did put their artists on dietary restrictions sometimes, she almost always broke the rules. Especially on those nights she went convenience store crawling with Sooyeon. 

Their friendship was an unexpected one. Once Yaebin had found out that her ex and Sooyeon were on their way to becoming a thing, she did everything she could to encourage it and push them in the right direction. She just wanted them - both of them, to be happy. “Yah, pass me the chopsticks,” she said as she ripped open the paper from the top of her container of food, already dumping in the seasoning and cheese before she placed it in the microwave to warm up.
