I made a better version👆 Read it instead. (It's the same fic just a little better english.)
Here is a fanfic. Sorry I couldn't wait to post it, so I did it now.
The gender of the reader is never mentioned, and it's written with them/they. .:.:.
(English isn't my first language, so if the text is super weird, blame that!!!)
Honestly, Y/n isn't that crazy, just a little bit weird.
Warnings: Kiss, dead Ace, Alive Ace?, a little angst, reader being a real creep (but only under some sentences), this is long!
N/n = Nickname, but now it's the villain name you come up for yourself.
------------------------------------------------------------
To begin with, who are you?
_____________________
During the battle of marineford, prisoners from Impel Down escaped from level six, after Blackbeard had paid a visit, one being N/n. No one knew much about them except they ended up there for attacking admiral Akainu. Apparently, Akainu had personally requested that they end up in level 6 even though they didn't have a bounty. The only thing that gave you a reputation was the fact that the navy had failed to kill you.
_____________________
You walked out of Impel Down without problem, and when you came out on the bridge, a submarine rose from the water. Smiling, you walked onboard. Holding two little bottles filled with Magellan's red and purple poison that you had gotten from the floor. A prisoner tried sneaking onboard only for a gun to shoot him, that sat at the entrance. The submarine went down under the sea and when it was at the very bottom small legs that was inbuilt came out and grabbed the sea floor crawling out of the world government's territory avoiding all the dangerous waves and gates. It also let out sounds that kept seabeasts away.
"Virus! Pull up the cameras at marineford. I heard it be a war there." You ordered the AI you programmed named Virus. A code lock was hidden behind a panel, pressing the code a refrigerator with various substances showed. Leaving Magellan's poison, you closed it and walked to the control room. A huge screen showed different locations of marineford. You settled down in your royal like chair. "Virus, give me popcorn and send the 0.6.78 out in the mini-sub. "Of course, N/n." Answer Virus, after a minute, a tiny submarine set out traveling in extreme speed.
"Virus document all the information you find out." You order while munching on popcorn. Why is everyone risking their lives for him?
"N/n, the 0.6.78 has arrived at marineford." "Good, release them." The 0.6.78 are small drones that scan stuff. Their designed like black balls with a camera in the middle. The 0.6.78 started scanning and measuring energy waves, peoples bodies, and of course, marinefords locks and mechanics.
You put a finger in the eye to get out your contact lens that was actually a little computer so you could work from your cell in impel down. "Virus, can you charge my contact it has lost so much battery that it could only last four months more." A little robot arm stretched out of the wall and took your contact.
"Wait . . . . . Akainu shit is there! Damn moron!" "May I ask why your opinion on him is so low when you attacked him?" Virus asked in her robotic voice. She asked questions often to update her programming. "It's true I attacked him to get into impel down, but he's annoying as f#ck! He's so-called justice is so wrong, I wanna puke!" "I see, N/n how was it in impel down?" Virus asked.
"Well, thanks to my modified body, I didn't get hungry, and the torture was worth it for the poison samples. Oh, you see the guy on the execution platform?" You asked Virus. "Yes, what about him?" "I could see him from my cell. And it's thanks to his brother Magellan used his forbidden red poison. Isn't it great? I waited for two years for him to use it."
"Yay, go . . . . Virus, what's his name?" "The spy cameras have caught his name to be Monkey D. Luffy. Here's all the information I could find about him." A document with facts about Luffy showed up. There was stuff like: Age, places he's been, bounty, crew members, family. The document loaded up, and a scan of his body came, so now information about his structure, temperature, devil fruit, blood, size of organs, and just useful information.
"I forgot how much information I get from my information devices. I'm such a stalker." You mumbled sucking on a popcorn. "Oi, Virus, I'm not gonna memorize this. I can barely remember what I eat for dinner."
Time skip
"Virus, send five of the 0.6.78 after Red hair Shanks and the Whitebeard pirates." "Of course, N/n. Why, though? You already have the power measurements of people like Mihawk." Virus asked. "Oh, I have gotten a theory that might work! And if I manage, not even Doctor Vegapunk will be able to compete with me." You laughed a little and stood up, walking to your desk. "But, I need a dead body. And whose body is going to piss of Akainu the most?"
"It depends on what you're planning on doing. If it is something good in Akainu's eyes, then it might be best to try and slay another admiral. But if it's something bad, then I believe Portgas D. Ace body would fit perfectly."
"Portgas D. Ace will do. Virus, make sure you know where they bury him so we can pick him up!" You yell in an exited tone. "Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Show Ace's body files on my desk computer." The screen emidetley showed all the information of him on the screen. Mumbling, you began working on a design for a tank.
"Virus, the pink virus like creatures we found deep down in the ocean. I need you to send out a submarine and collect as many as possible from the deep sea grave nearby water seven. Collect them in a fish tank filled with 3.2.35. In theory, should they be able to live in that liquid.
Two weeks later
"Why in actual hell did it take so long for everyone to leave Whitebeard's and Ace's graves alone?!" You yell as you keep munching on a piece of bread. The pirates had left the island, and once it was completely safe, your submarine rose from the water. Walking out, you had two robots behind you that were equipped for digging.
Once you got there, you scanned the ground and then let the robots work. First, they sawed a perfect rectangle, both some decimeters deep and were hit, had been connected. Then they slowly lifted up the first lair of ground. Then they digged more and reached after a while the coffin.
They lifted the coffin in the same way and then returned with it to the submarine. After a while, the robots came back with huge sacks of dirt to replace the area that the coffin was.
You observed their work until the end as they had refilled the grave and covered it up. Looking at the scan and then the grave were the traces none. You went up to Ace knife and hat and scanned them so you could recreate them later. "Alright, we're leaving." You ordered as you and the robots walked back to your sub.
"Virus, set the submarines coordinates for my HQ." You said as you settled down in your chair.
The sub traveled deep down at an incredible speed, and after four hours, you saw the beautiful mountain wall. It opened, and your sub drived in. After going in a tunnel for 3 minutes, it rose at a port.
The two robots carried Ace's coffin, and you walked before them like the boss you are. "Welcome back N/n, to the N/n headquarters." Virus said as the cave lit up. "Virus, I appreciate your welcome. After all, I haven't been here for months." You answered as you walked into the glass elevator. "Take me to my lab." You ordered. The elevator started to go down, and through the glass, you saw robots controlled by Virus work.
They constructed big and small cylinder shaped objects that later on would be placed on the ocean floor. Smiling, you watched them put 2.6.56 in a box that would soon travel in one of your submarines that also were controlled by Virus, and later on build up a little more of your sea map.

Sector 5
The elevator stopped, and you and the robots walked out into your lab. They placed down the coffin on a counter and opened it. Putting on gloves, you started to touch him a little. "Virus, send one of the robots back to my sub to get my poison samples." You said as a you felt your body growing warm, especially your cheeks.
"Virus the tank I designed for him. I want you to prepare it and fill it up with 3.2.35 and make sure the pink virus, like things, ends up in it." You ordered. "Take Ace body and clean it up it be bad for the pink virus like things that I know name Pixie 3, to come in contact with all this dirt and trash."
Another robot that wasn't equipped for digging came down together with the digging robot holding the poison samples. "Put them in the fridge together with all the other poisons I collected, and then you and the other one can return to your bunkers." The robot took Ace's body and carried it to a wash room that was specially designed for cleaning.
You settled down in your chair and watched the tank you designed for Ace fill up. Picking up your iPad, you looked at the scan of Ace wound and another file of an energy source you were tracking. The elevator door opened, and as you turned around and you saw . . . . .
"Give him clothes!!! I don't wanna be in the same room as a naked man!!!" You yelled as you ran into a corner and crouched down, holding your face.
"I understand. But the only clothes available are yours. But if it makes you more comfortable I can make new clothes for him in your clothes factory. " Virus asked. "Make new clothes for him." You practically yelled. Ah, I saw it, I saw it . . . . The thought and image stayed placed in your head. After like a minute, you calmed down and turned around only to see him laying on the counter!!!
You quickly turned around and then got hit by the realization. "Don't let his body be too much in oxygen, it could mold!!!" Running to his body, you quickly pushed him into the coffin and closed it, then returned to your state at the corner.
Time skip
You watched as the robot arms placed Ace in the green liquid you created, called 3.2.35, and connected his body to various hoses and threads.
"It's gonna take really long for the Pixie 3 to duplicate all his cells and fix his wounds." You mumbled as you looked at the man. He was pale and didn't look very well at all. "Virus, give vitamin D to the Pixie threes, and then let them give his body the nutrients it needs.
Days passed, and Ace body started to heal and look better. You told yourself that the reason you chose not to use metallic parts was to not do a half ass job. Which is why you decided to make him stronger. . .
Time skip again
It had been two months since the project of fix Ace had begun. His wounds were completely fixed without any ugly stitches, and his condition looked great. The body had began working on it's own, eight days ago, but had still needed some help from the Pixie threes.
Ace
Slowly blurred light shined as he regain his sight. He felt weird as his brain began to process his surroundings, it seemed to be different kinds of inventions and mechanics that surrounded him. He slowly moved his hand before him and saw a metal glove connected to various threads.
What's going on!? Where am I?! Where's Luffy and Pops and the rest!? What is this!? In his panic attack, he began punching the glass that trapped him.
You sat in your dining hall eating lunch in sector 4 and were just enjoying yourself when . . . . . An alarm sounded through your base. Leaving everything you began running to the elevator to get to sector 5. "Ace tank has taken damage!!! Virus, tell me how it's happening?!!" You yelled as the elevator went down a floor.
"Ace has woken up and is trying to destroy the tank to get out." Virus answered in her calm robotic voice. "WHAT, I THOUGHT HE WOULD WAKE UP AROUND NEXT WEEK!!!!!" You screamed as you ran into the lab.
You slowed down as you neared Ace. Holding up your hands, you tried to show you meant no harm.
Ace looked at you and calmed down just a little. "Virus, empty the tank and transport the Pixie threes to another one in sector 3." You said. Emidetley, the 3.2.35, started to flow away together with the Pixie 3 at the bottom of the tank.
Realizing the green liquid started to disappear, Ace calmed down more. But what is going on? A pipe like thing connected to the top and opened the tank, leaving Ace standing.
"I'm going to remove your air mask, alright." You said as you stepped closer, putting your hands on the mask and pulling of the metal gloves.
"Where, where am I?" Pressed Ace out. His voice was weak, it's like he hadn't used it for years or something. Backing away a little, you fiddled with your fingers. "Well, you're in my lab, and I'm N/n." You answered, then you went up to him again, grabbed him, and began to examine his body.
Ace was just about to ask what you were doing when you hugged him. "I AM AT THE TOP. THE BEST. IT'S ME N/n!!!" You cheered as you began jumping around. You smiled and looked Ace over again.
Mumbling a little, you asked, "Do you remember anything?" Ace face wrinkled a little, but then his eyes widened, and a heavy feeling came to him like a cannon ball he hadn't dodged. "Why am I alive?" He asked as he held up his hands, staring at them.
"Yes! You remember, if you didn't, I would have failed. What luck, right!" You cheered. Ace looked at you, then his hands and then at you again. "WHat . . .did you do to me?" He tried screaming, but his voice cracked. He launched to attack, but two robot arms took hold of him.
Yelping, you jumped back and watched as Virus added four more arms to hold him. He didn't look mad more desperate. "Eh, he, he, he." You began as you stood up again, brushing off your clothes. "Sorry, if it's not what you wanted, but it's not like I could ask you about your opinion." You commented, still smiling. I wouldn't have asked though.
"If you calm down, we can go eat. You must be starving for some taste." You said trying your best to sound reassuring. "Oh, Virus get Ace some tablets for his voice." After awhile Ace began to listen to his belly and calmed down. "I calmed down now." He mumbled, feeling the metallic hands leave his body. He was just gonna follow you when another robot hand came down before him, tensing up he was just getting ready for self protection when the fist opened showing tablets. "Oh, thanks." He mumbled taking it and then swallowed them.
He felt how they melted a bit and it was like he got poisoned as his throat began burning. Then it stopped, just like that. "Uh, hi." He said seeing as the pills worked. He kept on following you and walked into the glass thing you stood in. Then the elevator rose to sector 4. "Do you have, any other clothes?" He asked looking down on the ones he was wearing. "Right, Virus, get Ace his old clothes and a shirt." You ordered.
The elevator stopped and Ace followed you into a dinning hall with two chairs one having an ugly sack with a drawn smile on it. "Ehhhhhhh, you can just move him." You said putting a hand on your neck feeling embarrassed. Ace picked it up and threw it away to the wall. "Are we in a castle?" He asked as he looked at the beautiful decorations a crystal lamps hanging from the ceiling.
"Nope, I just wanted my dining hall this way." You said as you began to poke your food with the fork. "A robot came in holding food for Ace and placed it down before him. He felt his stomach rumbling and began eating the food like a pig. "So do you know who I am?" You asked taking a bite of your food. Ace looked at you while munching on meat. "Were you perhaps in impel down?" He answered with another question. "yeah, we could see each other from our cells."
"Could you, explain." He asks looking at you in the eyes. You began telling him how you had watched the war through a screen and how you wanted to try to bring someone back to life with help from the new virus like creatures you discovered. And how they had duplicated his cells to fix his body.
"It sounds logical, until the fact I'm alive comes. You can't just fix a body and then it wakes up again. It's impossible." Ace comment's looking at you. "I was measuring energy attack's at the war with a thing called 0.6.78, whenever someone dies a small energy wave release. Due to past experiences I was already aware it was the persons soul leaving because of dying." You said feeling way more comfortable than before. "And during the war I decided that to piss of Akainu the most, you be the best to revive back. So I tracked your soul and manege to capture it in a box like thing called 0.7.41." You explained, being slightly annoyed he fell asleep two times during your explanation.
Ace wasn't thrilled with the explanation of him being alive. He held up his finger and tried using his fire. Because I died I don't have any devil fruit powers. And how does Luffy feel, I died in his arms. A robot walked in holding a pair of clothes. "Sir Ace, here's your clothes." Ace stood up and took his shorts, belt, hat and ?" Do I really need to wear a shirt?" Ace asked looking at the actually good looking shirt. "Yes, I don't need a shirtless man to walk around here!" You answered fast, in a panic. "Right." Ace said frowning.
"N/n I have a question?" Virus said. "Yes, go on?" You said giving her permission. "Why are you uncomfortable having Sir Ace going around shirtless when you seen him naked?" Blushing you fell of your chair. And then rose and ran to a corner out of habit, hiding your face. "THAT WAS YOUR FAULT VIRUS!!!" You yelled in embarrassment. "I still don't see the problem, I have tried to find the answer on my own but, failed so could you explain?" Asked Virus.
"It's just a stupid nature thing humans have when it comes to this stuff." You mumbled, knowing Virus could hear and hopefully not Ace. "Do you mean you want a kid with him?" Asked Virus, that's when you froze of shock and fell down from your crouched position in the corner. "Virus! I tell you later." You mumbled while crying of embarrassment.
"Is the idea of having a kid with me that bad?" Ace thought out loud, thinking of the blood in his veins. "You're considering it!!!" You yelled standing up and looking at him with a red face. Ace had been blushing due to you seeing him naked but know he realized what he said. His face turned beat red and you two looked at each other. "I put on the shirt. Mumbles Ace as he opens and then closes a door, walking in to change.
"Can you tell me know?" Asked Virus. "NO!!! another time." You said as you fell down in the corner again.
Ace put on his clothes and felt like his old self, kinda at least. Then he put on the shirt. "Still me, just with a shirt." He mumbled. As he opened the door he found himself alone in the dining hall with the Virus robot. Oh, good. I don't know how I would have acted after that. Ace thought. "Sir Ace, I will show you to your room. N/n said they wouldn't be able to see you." The Virus thing said. "Yeah, that's understandable, and stop calling me Sir Ace. It's weird." Answered Ace "Sure thing Mr. Ace, now please follow me." responded Virus beginning to walk. Ace frowned at the Mr thing.
Virus took Ace to a room that you had designed for him. "Wow . . . . ." Was all Ace could say as he looked around. He laid down on the bed and began to think of his situation. "What am I suppose to do?" Asked Ace as he looked at his hands again. Is this fate? Do I deserve to live so much that god gave me another chance. Or is it simply by luck, or maybe I'm unlucky. Wait, this means the war was for nothing. . . . . What should I do know? Ace decided to spend the rest of the time thinking. After an hour of thinking, he stood up and walked to the mirror, taking off his shirt.
There were no signs of any injury, not even old ones. He looked around his body, wanting to find something that was just wrong, to prove to himself you were just a crazy scientist who managed to save him. Who sees him as nothing more than an experiment. When he saw his back, his eyes widened. Parts of his tattoo were gone, his pride. Memory's of Akainu flashed, and Ace began to mutter about the hate-able admiral.
"Excuse me, Mr. Ace, but my I ask a question?" Virus asked. Ace flinched and looked around for any robots, but couldn't find any. "Where are you?" Ace asked still tense, he glared around and tried to see her but, failed. "I'm an AI, N/n has programmed me into every technical thing in their base. I'm with other words able to speak to you wherever and whenever." Virus answered. "Okay . . . . . What do you want?" Ace asked as he looked back in the mirror, not really liking how almost everything from his whitebeard tattoo was gone. "Where you muttering about admiral Akainu?" Ace expression changed. "What if I did?" He asked, going to one of the drawers in the room.
"N/n does not like him. Is it the same with you?" Virus asked. "Oh, well, he is the one who killed me." Ace answered. "If we went on with that logic, wouldn't that mean you're in love with N/n?" Virus commented on his logic. Ace started to blush and shoved his hands in his pockets. How do I answer that without making my own point wrong?
"Maybe you should talk shit about Akainu with N/n. It could be a great way to bound with them." Virus suggested. "Why, should I bound with them, like doesn't they see me as just another science project?" Ace asked while going through the drawers, finding a little fidget toy. "I can assure you N/n does not see you as just a science project. They are well aware you are another human being unlike me. I understand why you would assume that considering how bad they are at expressing themselves, but that is most likely because of how often they see other humans." Virus explained. "How often is N/n speaking with other people?" Ace asked as he slumped down in the bed holding the fidget toy."
"I hope N/n talked to someone while being in impel down, but if not I believe N/n haven't spoken with anyone for seven years." Virus answered. If Ace had drinked something he would have spitted it out in less then a millisecond. "What?" Ace looked up to where Virus voice came from. "Seven years . . . . ." Ace thought back to impel down. Had he seen you talking to someone? Thinking back he remembered you trying to talk to your prison mate, but he just said, 'Shut it or I kill you.'
"I guess I can go and speak to them. Can you show me the way?" Ace asked. "Of course." Answered Virus and after a lot of directions Ace was taken to a garden. It was beautiful, decorated with all kinds of flowers and nature. As he followed the stone patterned road he found you. You sat at a glass table building a puzzle. Your expression was bored.
"Uh, hi?" He called out to you. Looking up you saw Ace standing there. "Hey, do you need something?" You asked looking back at the puzzle. Picking up a piece. "Well I was just bored and thought maybe I should talk to you. "Alright, I guess I need to tell you some stuff anyways." A robot came from the other side of the garden, carrying a chair for Ace. "Have you been communicating with Virus?" You asked as the chair was placed down for him. "Yeah, she suggested I speak to you, we apparently have something in common." He said with a grin. "Oh yeah and what would that be?" You asked placing down the puzzle piece. "We both hate Akainu." Ace said happily taking a piece to help you. The conversation started quite slow but, got more comfortable after a while. It turned out you both had had opinions on his battle tactics.
"Oh, by the way, you said you had something to tell me?" Ace asked after like two hours of speaking up and downs about the navy. "Right . . . . . Um, when I revived you I modified your body." You said nervously. "Oh, that's cool." Ace answered still smiling well until the words you said clicked. "Wait what?" His expression changed to concern. "What, what did you do?" He asked as a feeling inside him grew heavy. "I gave you a modified cell, that I call Impo and another thing called Pixie threes. Impo should be in all of your cells, while Pixie threes just roam around your body." You mumbled fidgeting with a puzzle piece. "What does this pixie threes do?" Ace asked nervous starting to regret feeling bad about you not having any to socialize with.
"Well, it makes it possible for you to regenerate. For example observe." Holding up your finger you took a knife and cut it off. Ace eyes widened as your finger grew back. It didn't take fast but it didn't do it slow either. "Wait, I can also do that?" Ace asked looking at the cut of finger on the table. "Yeah, but. . . ." Not being able to finish the sentence, Ace took the knife cutting his finger off. He felt panic grow in him as his brain progressed you had tried to say something.
He watched as his finger grew back, it took like a second. "Wow, what was it you were going to say?" He asked confused since his finger came back.
"I was just gonna say it should be better than mine." You answered his question. "Okay I guess this is cool and useful, oh, wait is it because of this you got known for being impossible to execute?" Ace asked as he kept starring at his new grown finger. "Yup, it's thanks to virus like creatures called Pixie threes. They duplicate cells. I have modified them to know the structure of their respective body, so with other words as long as you have at least one pixie 3 you be able to survive." You explained hoping Ace understood. "Alright, what about the Impo bacteria?" Ace asked.
"The Impo bacteria stores energy. I don't have it modified in my body so---- let's go to my training hall and see if it works like I hope." You said smiling. Grabbing Ace hand you began to run with him out of the garden. As much as Ace did not like the fact you had played with his body, he disliked even more, the fact that your hand felt kinda nice in his.
Going up with the elevator Ace stood there hiding his blush with his other hand covering the tint blush that grew the more he let his mind roll. You started talking about what he should be able to do in theory, but he didn't listen he was to distracted by your and his hand still holding. Oh, common, don't get a crush on someone who's so . . . . pretty. No weird! Shut up mind! They have invaded my privacy and, and, and done weird stuff with my body. There's no reason to forgive them. Even though I want to live now . . . . Ugh, think about your cursed blood! They don't want you as a partner!!! No one wants you like that!
Ace felt that lump in his stomach, that had grown over the years. 'No one want's you like that.' Even though Ace had an amazing family and friends, he always had it hard when it came to the thought of a partner. Sure, many had wanted to date him. But they had no idea who his father were.
"Oi! Are you even listening!!" You asked, you had dragged him to the training hall, that were more designed as an arena. Shaking his head he looked at you. "No, what did you say?" After muttering a little you began to explain, again, that he should be able to absorb energy and use it for himself in different kinds of ways, and how the Impo should be able to also change the type of energy.
Time skip
Ace had spent some weeks with you. He had trained to use his new abilities. And gotten information about the marineford war, after he died. He wanted to become stronger so that he could beat Blackbeard and avenge his father and fallen brothers. He had asked why you didn't revive Pops, and you simply explained he was old and planned on dying there and go out like the awesome man he was. You also explained that he went out like a man to soon and should be grateful due to his second chance.
Ace had a problem though, a huge one. The problem called N/n. Well it was most likely that AI Virus fault. So what, was his problem? Well it was extremely hard to see you as just another friend. In the beginning, also his first meal with you, Virus had asked a question which had led to an awfully embarrassing moment. But that moment had made it hard for Ace to see you as a friend and not a lover. And the more time I spend with them I fall harder, dammit N/n! Maybe I should . . . . maybe I shouldn't . . . . I'm gonna do it!
Ace walked into a sector in sector 4 that were especially made to look like just another home. "Morning N/n." He said as he walked into the kitchen. You stood at the stove making some kind of breakfast. "Morning Ace." You answered smiling. Something that amused Ace was how much you had. Like your HQ had, just in sector 4 an inside garden, a castle section, a normal house (aka where you two were now.) and of course all the places you built to just have fun like a pool and a dance club. You had said it was for your free time and that Virus was technically the one who built while you just designed.
Then of course sector 1 was more like a parking place for all the awesome traveling stuff you had built, different kinds of ships, submarines, stuff you called cars and planes! Then sector 2 was a construction place, where you could easily produce clothes, machines, robots, stuff for fun and probably had like endless possibility's. And sector 3 had fields powered with solar lamps and all the vegetables, berries and fruits that tasted amazing. Sector 3 also had a farm with all kinds of animals for meat, but surprisingly a lot were endangered species you protected. Then there were of course the arena he had trained on. Apparently you built it for testing soldier robots and different kinds of weapons.
When he had asked if you planned on taking over the world you said you just felt like trying to build it seeing how far you could go. Sector 5 had your incredible lab, the same place he had first woken up in. Though he wasn't really allowed to be there.
"Um, Ace you there?" You asked, finding it a little creepy how he got trapped in a thought while starring at you. Ace shook his head and then notice all the food you placed on the table for him. One second later Ace was digging in the food as if Luffy was there. And after a minute he feel down in the food sleeping.
Giggling, you went up to his sleeping form. "Virus, never tell Ace about this." You said in a strict tone. Then you reached out and started to pet his soft hair. Then you couldn't help but to near him with your nose sniffing on him a little. He smelled so good like some sweet fruit or berry. Ace jerked up and found it a little creepy how close you had been the past times he'd woken up after fallen asleep like this.
Ace was training, thinking about new attacks, you looked now and then, but for the most part you drew on your tablet creating one of your new ideas. It's now or never Ace! Maybe I should do it tomorrow. No! You said that yesterday to! "Uh, N/n?" He called out, wandering up to you. "Yeah?" You looked at him and he got awfully nervous. "So, um, uh, well I, eh, Maybe we could, like maybe I could, uh-um, what if we could go to this place, together?" Ace stuttered out. Stop sounding so stupid!!!
"Where do you wanna go?" You asked confused. "No, I wanna take you- to a place." He answered quickly though he still wanted to slap himself in the face. You just looked at him in confusion. "Ugh, Virus help me explain." Ace grumbled, covering his face with his hands, hiding his beat-red face. "N/n I believe what Ace is trying to say is that he wants to go back to his brothers and leave you." Virus explained. "Yeah . . ." said Ace, then his eyes widened, realizing Virus did not explain it right, at all!!!
"Oh . . . I understa . . . !" "NO! I'm trying to ask you out not leave you!!!" Ace yelled interrupting you. "Like a, a, a date?" You asked feeling how your whole body got warm of happiness. "Maybe-" Ace answered dragging out the e. "Oh, sure." You answered blushing light. "Wait, really?" Ace asked. "Yeah, let me just go to my wardrobe and change into something more fitting. What's fitting? And I also wanna shower." You smiled. "I also shower and change and then we meet in sector 1 and then we go." Ace answered.
You and Ace hurried to sector 4. Showering and changing into casual clothes. (You decide) Ace and you meet in sector 1. Damn was he handsome, he was wearing some clothes you designed for him and he looked stunning. You two entered your main submarine.
Time skip
The submarine rose above water and you and Ace walked out. Ace held a huge basket and in his other were your hand. The submarine dived down in the sea again, you had told Virus to wait for you and Ace under sea. After minutes of walking you and Ace came to a cliff with a beautiful view. But what made the island even more unique was the cherry blossom trees growing all around. Ace lifted out a picnic blanket and fixed, letting you sit on the blanket while he shoveled out a lot of food.
"Did, did you make this?" You asked fidgeting a bit on your clothes, blushing. So far had you or Virus done all the food. "Yes, and before you get scarred, Virus helped me." Ace said fast. "Why, are you normally bad at cooking?" You asked giggling. "Yes, well I can grill meat." He answered.
The food tasted delicious, you and Ace spoke and had fun for hours. And deep into the night . . . . You and Ace stood at the cliff looking at the stars, his arm around your waist and yours around his. "Ace please call me Y/n." You said after awhile of comfortable silence. "Why?" He asked confused. "It's my real name." You said softly hugging Ace with both arms. "Y/n is the most beautiful name I ever heard." Ace said returning the hug. He took your hands and leaned in close to your lips. "may I kiss you?" He asked as a fluttering feeling in his stomach grew. "Only if I can kiss you back." You answered.
Smirking Ace connected his lips with yours. It felt passionate and wonderful. He pressed his body closer to yours and hugged you tightly. Your lips separated for air and then went right back at it. When you disconnected again for air he asked. "Will you be mine, and will you let me be yours?"
"Yes."

you know what this twitter fiasco is putting me in mind of, it's the weird narrative betrayal at the climax of last year's silly romcom Free Guy.
not the stupid annoying one where human/AI romance is too weird after all, so the titular protagonist turns out to be just a proxy for the man who programmed him, the other more jarring one,
where during the dramatic buildup we cut from Guy's security-guard-at-the-MMORPG-bank friend Buddy heroically buying time before his own deletion, to the tech company's actual human security guards watching the livestream and passionately identifying with him going, "that security guard is a goddamned hero."
shortly before Taika Waititi's character, an awful bro-CEO with fabulously awful fashion sense and no actual abilities, starts hitting the servers with a fire axe to cover up his illegal code plagiarism that's about to be livestreamed to millions.
because the entire setup there called for him to be stopped by his own security. there was a clear line of dominoes set up for them to be doing this. it would have been logically and thematically consistent, and really satisfying.
and correct! that's the thing about owning a corporation: its property is not your personal property. this legal construct protects you in a lot of ways, which is why it's worth incorporating even a one-man business, but it also means you cannot, legally, just smash the company's shit. especially once there's public stock, which in this case there was. it's not yours in your capacity as an individual.
like realistically these guys can do whatever they want, especially as sole-owner, but between the fact that the AIs in those servers had just turned out to be people, the fact that he was going crazy with a fire axe, the fact that his reasoning was 'hiding the evidence,' and the fact that he was not actually entitled to break those things, the security guys should have pinned the CEO down and taken his axe.
but for some reason, instead the female lead just offers to give him everything she's dedicated years of her life to proving he stole if he'll just leave that last server unbroken.
and that's the resolution. and all the digital people are restored somehow by computer magic and it's all fine? good end??? i was so mad!
and also kind of appalled by the implication that showing a corporate edgelord's manbaby smashing meltdown being something the peons could rise up and interfere with would be too radical somehow???
#hoc est meum#i throw salt#film reviews i guess lol#i saw this at the drive-in theater i don't remember what i was there to see but it wasn't that#i liked it though right up until ending weird#taika as the muskrat

Dragon Ball Super 054
“Father! I have to fight Goku Black, but I’m dummy thicc, and the clap of my asschecks keeps telegraphing my move!”
Mai and Shu see Trunks image training to prepare for his showdown with Goku Black. Shu has to explain the concept to her, and then Mai starts trying to do the same idea, except she imagines herself getting kissed by Trunks. I’m pretty sure that’s just daydreaming.
In the lab, Pilaf starts screwing around with a computer program Bulma left open, and she gets all mad at him for messing with her stuff, but then she reads his code and decides it’s actually an improvement. So Pilaf is good at coding, fine, but the punch line here is that Pilaf actually managed to make himself useful, which sort of underscores how pointless he’s been in every other episode of this arc.
Beerus, Goku, and Whis return from Universe 10, and share their findings with Trunks over breakfast. Trunks is frustrated, because it sounds like they didn’t learn anything conclusive, but Beerus points out that Zamasu might become involved with Goku Black in the future. While Beerus and Goku squabble over a plate of sausage and eggs, Trunks reflects on the fact that Goku has fought the gods themselves and lived to tell about it. So maybe it doesn’t matter how strong Trunks gets. If Goku and Vegeta go with him to fight Goku Black, then they’re sure to win.
But there’s one grumpy gus who seems to know exactly what Trunks is thinking...
Back in U10, Gowasu is observing a primitive species on Planet Barbari, and Zamasu sees this as further evidence that mortals are self-destructive brutes who don’t deserve to exist. Gowasu insists that they can grow and change, but Zamasu doesn’t think it’s worth waiting around to find out. So Gowasu goes and fetches his Time Ring to take a peek.
To Zamasu’s point, it seems like all the Barbari do is beat the shit out of each other, but Gowasu wants to see what they’re like after a thousand years, and that’s what the Time Ring is for. Only Supreme Kais are allowed to use them, and they can only take the wearer into the future, and back again. They cannot take someone into the past, since this is forbidden, even for Kaioshin.
But Gowasu wants Zamasu to see this too, which means he has to give him one of his special Potara earrings, so the Time Ring will accept him as an authorized user. In effect, he’s temporarily promoting him to co-Supreme Kai, which is... a horrible mistake, actually.
So they go to the future, and it turns out that after 1000 years, the Barbari have learned to build fires and shelters, and they even have primitive tools. Not bad at all.
They also... still beat the crap out of each other for no good reason, which proves Zamasu’s point. The technology may change, but the fundamental problem he sees with mortals remains the same.
While explaining the Time Rings to Zamasu, Gowasu mentions that the four green rings in the case were created when someone caused an alternate timeline to be formed. He is deeply dismayed to see four of these in the box, although he shows no interest in finding how how this happened or doing anything about it.
For trivia’s sake, I think we can assign three of those green rings to the timelines shown or implied in Dragon Ball Z. One is the future shown in “History of Trunks”, one is the world Cell came from, and one is an alternate history which Trunks saved from the androids, but there was no Cell involved. I wrote a thing about this last year, if you’re interested. That fourth green ring might represent the second trip Trunks made into the past, when he showed up during the Piccolo/Android 20 fight, but I’m not so sure of that. Anyway, we’ll follow up on this later.
Meanwhile, Vegeta challenges Trunks to a fight, and shows him Super Saiyan Blue for the first time. Trunks quickly realizes that this must represent Goku’s full power as well, and if both of them are this strong, then they can defeat Goku Black without any trouble. But this upsets Vegeta, who demands that Trunks get stronger for his own sake. Is defeating Black his only goal? What about he next threat? And if nothing else, Trunks ought to strive for greater strength to satisfy his Saiyan pride. So Vegeta tells him he’ll call Trunks the winner if he can land a single blow on him.
Trunks almost pulls it off by using his old bulky form, the one he used to fight Cell and it didn’t work at all. Vegeta mocks him for this, but it turns out it’s just a diversion to get Vegeta to lower his guard.
Vegeta gives him some credit for resourcefulness, but it won’t get the job done.
Goku senses their battle and brings Bulma out to watch. He seems very excited about her getting to see this, even though she doesn’t understand it. It’s like a big sentimental moment among their family, and Goku wants her to be part of it, even if she’s confused.
See, this is why I can’t buy into the idea that Goku doesn’t love his own wife and children the way Earthlings do. He understands Vegeta’s family just fine here, so how could he not view his own family the same way?
Anyway, Vegeta gets distracted by the spectators, and Trunks siezes the opportunity to headbutt Vegeta while he’s not looking. Trunks declares that a win.
Vegeta doesn’t take Trunks’ hand, but he does seem satisfied that Trunks has gotten the message. Trunks assures him that he’ll keep training to surpass himself, Goku Black, and Vegeta. Basically it’s the Super Saiyan Cabba episode all over again, except Trunks gets it.
Meanwhile, Beerus and Whis have returned to Beerus’ planet, when they get a call from Grand Zeno. Zeno wants to speak with Goku.
Yeah, I’d be upset too if I found out this saga was about to take another detour.

Wench: Nah, she didn't die
Jezebel: Wtf. But she was dead at the end, wasn’t she?

Wench: Do you see what I mean by, his acting was actually, like, really good? Especially in that context?
Jezebel: Yess! Buddy just couldn’t get a good ending if it was standing right in front of him… Ten Inch Hero next, so I can be equally pissed at the ending but in a happier tone. Maybe tomorrow?

Hi in honour of the short carla conversation we had the other day. Miss Carla Dosa. To no ones surprise
MORE than happy to talk about her :]
Favorite thing about them: I love how her reviews of the Weasel Kid games really reflect her attitude towards Lionel at the time. She really just wanted to root for him no matter what (she doesn’t even seem angry over SWK 06 like all of the other reviewers, just sad) and it’s a shame how that turned out for both of them. Congratulations on surviving being a human character in the Mullinsverse Carla and also sorry about your best friend being blinded by success and ultimately consumed by it.
Least favorite thing about them: She didn’t appear at all? Come on, she could’ve at least gotten a grainy picture like Kaycee did but. Nope. </3
She did get to make a game and get it published to steam though so good for her in that regard. Even if it opened a back door to (fictitiously) installing a clown virus on your computer.
Favorite line: I don’t have a favorite line but I DO want to point out that the font she uses in Secrets of Legendaria is the Minecraft font. Absolutely fantastic on her part.
brOTP: The dynamic between her and Sado is so interesting to me and I wish it was explored more in canon (but it wasn’t/probably won’t be in the future so I’ll just do it myself). The way I see it is that Sado is purely chaotic neutral in all respects except around Carla, who she sees as a friend and therefore actually listens to (Carla initially worried that she’d accidentally hard-coded her with that loyalty and—after learning she was alive—immediately tried to undo that by insisting that Sado can do whatever she wants regardless, but that’s not true. Sado is sticking around because she wants to and that’s about it).
OTP: I don’t really ship Carla with anyone
nOTP: I don’t not ship Carla with anyone either—again, I’ve seen maybe two or three Carla ships and I don’t have a strong opinion on any of them one way or another.
Random headcanon: Pretty much everything is a headcanon regarding this character but I’d like to imagine that—following the incident with Secrets of Legendaria—Carla gets a job at GameFuna proper (honestly not much of an upgrade, but GameFuna is in desperate need of programmers who actually know how to program… the head of the company who insists on pushing all the concepts himself definitely isn’t qualified, no matter how passionate he is. Plus, GameFuna doesn’t give a shit about someone’s reputation, AND she gets to work from home a lot of the time, it’s a win in her book). She’s also not aware that her boss is the Actual Devil just because that’s funnier in my book. He’s just an eccentric asshole to her. “Yeah he’s a CEO obviously he’s the devil. What do you mean from the bible.”
Unpopular opinion: I don’t think there are any unpopular Carla opinions on account of the fact that I don’t think anyone remembers she existed outside of… maybe three people. I’d say four but that’s pushing it.
Song I associate with them: Hm, don’t think I have a specific one—at least not one that actually fits. Maybe Remain Nameless by Florence + the Machine? Not 100% on that though. As a bonus I inexplicably associate her with Goodnight Socialite by the Brobecks. It has absolutely nothing to do with her character as far as I’m aware. I just think she’d enjoy it I guess.
Favorite picture of them: There aren’t any </3

so i'm torn between ryou being rescued by the paladins or ryou getting rescued by romelle but then I thought... what if both. like, the first time he was captured by galra, he was rescued by romelle. he stayed on pollux for a bit, earned a place for himself but left to continue his quest for answers. then he got captured again, maybe on purpose, and was then rescued by the paladins.
I can completely and utterly guarantee you that by capture attempt number two Ryou would be So Done with This Shit. Let’s strip it down to basic though. Ryou has, for quite some time now, been pretty much at the top of his field. You make it up, he can build it. You ask for something, he can invent it. He’s really been in a position of leadership (albeit an entirely different version from Taka’s) and of being the one that’s ahead of everyone else and giving them hands up to catch up.
And then, suddenly, he’s at the very bottom of that pile, so far behind in knowledge and ability that he might as well be a first grader learning how to work simple addition all over again. He does not have a fancy lion, he does not have an Official Role, he does, honestly, not have much point or usefulness when he finds himself in space. This is a man that’s built himself from the ground up to be the one that can provide and create what everyone else needs and its been his goal as well as a huge purpose of his for years now. And it’s gone. Hell, he doesn’t even know which knobs to turn on things anymore or where the hell the nearest equivalent to a screwdriver is and if anything out here even uses screws. Yes, Hunk is shown pretty much understanding everything, including how to hotwire a drilling elevator or fix a junked up alien vessel, right off the bat without even scratching his head but lets be realistic here. In a civilization so advanced they’ve made a flying lion that can literally phase itself through solid objects without any harm to the pilot inside and I’m supposed to believe they’re still be using technology on a level that a human whose highest accomplishment isn’t even light speed yet could completely take apart and know exactly what they were doing right off the bat? Really? Look we all suspend a lot of disbelief for this show and that’s part of the fun but if you really look at the basics of it - Pidge can, quickly and with very little trouble, immediately crack code in an alien computer system that’s had longer to advance itself than the entire human race has had to evolve. Really? She can, and I’m still having a hard time swallowing this one, hijack Shiro’s arm with - a wifi signal? and shut it down when not a single other Galra grunt or scientist or soldier or Haggar have? Don’t get me wrong. In all honest, I love Hunk muttering to himself and hotwiring the elevator at the same time. It’s one of my all time favorite scenes from season one actually because it is so perfect in timing and delivery and tension and laughter and Hunkness but - the thing that challenges my suspension of disbelief most is how casual alien tech is treated and how easy it is to crack even by two beings I’m perfectly willing to acknowledge as complete geniuses. I realize, as writers, there’s a limited amount of time the VLD script crew have to pack all kind of information into things and they really do need to hit the ground running with the characters. Pidge and Hunk both need to have their skills shine just as bright as anyone elses and it would take a lot of time and slow the story way down if they were put on a learning curve. In fact, a hell of a lot of the situations that moved things along in the first couple of episodes (Pidge hijacking Rover, Hunk hijacking the lift) wouldn’t have happened at all if we had to stop and have them really wrestle with how utterly alien and outside of their usual pattern of programing and problem solving everything is. But dang. Are we going to upload a virus to the alien ship with a lap top next?

More so than thinking a co-star of major movie wrapped all her shots in about 2 weeks? Or that she did 'voice work' on a sound stage and not a booth? Sure. Face it. You're butthurt that - again - we haven't seen a thing of AW & Seb in going on 3 months. And looking for justifications as to why that is.// Bingo you cracked the code! I am butthurt that" we haven't seen a thing of AW and Seb in going on 3 months"😂😂. Anon,do you realize what you just wrote? Do you realize how ridiculous it is? I just hope you are a very young person,if not,I would kindly advice you to go outside and touch some grass. I don't give a shit if we see AW and Seb. In fact,I prefer when we don't because i am not really a Wallis fan. But appart of that I DO believe RF wrapped MERCY. And it has NOTHING to do with AW . Because she is playing a IA and everything else will be make via computer. And it's more than possible that MERCY ( if they don't change the tittle) it's the name of the program and IT has an important part in the plot . And speaking of AW nobody knows how big is her part or why she ' s been announced later. You just made your conclusion to fit your weird narrative and have a excuse to be nasty with people you don't know.

“you know me.”
There's a link between the two of them, a familiarity. Not just a function of time but also an expression of top of the line code; in her case, it was seated in her spine and reached into the majority of her central nervous system at different junctures. In Widow's case, it was a chip running a primary function coded to specs and then some, two chips performing auxiliary functions so as to lighten the load on the primary, shit she'd built that helmet too.
The fact she could type at speeds nearing 200 WPM didn't hurt, though. Whilst Sombra's AI was more of an alpha version (Her AI gave her fucking attitude sometimes), Sombra's AI was performed the multiple functions of code writing, equation calculating, algorithmic sequencing, highly indexed information storage, video and audio capture, translation - in short, her AI was developed to process information. Any of it. All of it. Whatever is necessary. Adaptable, of course, it had to be - which was the crick in her AI's code that made everything a little funky. She didn't mind it though - she writes good code. It was supplementary to her own mind by design to avoid pretty much exactly the situation Ami was currently in (the thought squeezes at her heart), though over the years they'd developed more of a sibling relationship. She allowed the AI to function in places where she sometimes lacked by nature of her humanity (so annoying honestly, she envied Bastion sometimes, or Echo - but not the Widow). They negotiated with each other easily, synergistic in their exchange of control with each other. There were things Sombra didn't allow the AI insight into - personal, human things. In return, the AI withheld from her things she didn't need to know (but neither her nor the AI took other people's privacy super seriously, so if it was relevant to her wants and needs, it's supplied to her).
Sombra writes good code. The complex series of functions and expression, the art of it - she was unerringly precise and with the AI's assistance, the process of building Widow had been so much easier than when she'd written her own at a computer. Coding her had been exhausting, exhilarating. Instead of typing, she just dove magenta hardlight into the computer, had quickly located the coding program (definitely not stolen through discreet, anonymous, and of course, encrypted file sharing 'cause she wasn't buying shit from those gringos), and just dove into it, the two splitting the job. She short of took the role of an overseer, watching the AI spit out code at record speed whilst it also gave her access to it's connections so she could follow along at about 75% of it's speed. It worked really fucking well, so when Moira told her she wanted a knife and a bludgeon, they created exactly that. Where Sombra's AI was an open and inviting field, this was a weapon. An intruder. Parasitic - no, it was a carnivore.
A carnivore with a muzzle, hemmed in by the dual influences of it's own code and her dying pleas. She grew increasingly philosophical about the matter as time passed and calculation after calculation failed. Sometimes she asked and Widow answered her - as much as she could, anyway. She was the gun, Widow was the bullet, but Moira squeezed the trigger. Except the bullet could aim itself, somehow, to an extent, so Ami was still gonna die, just really fucking slow apparently.
There's a crick in Widow's code too - it's that damn part of the code where she laid down how the both of them could adapt to new information that might change their priorities. They were super, super free to do that, and it changed the both of them in ways that brought her amazement. It was weird, but she was uniquely in the position to find the idea of machine intelligence that is conscious incredibly easy to accept. I mean... Zenyatta was a whole ass person so. Why not these two?
The Widow's subtle but Sombra's got her number. "No mames wey. Of course I know you. My code is top of the fucking line, spider." Sometimes she'll brag, and if she was completely honest with herself, she would brag more if she could. Then she pauses, her brows furrow together as she tries to identify the emotion that suddenly swells within her chest. "Is it weird that I'm proud of you?"

Her mind had been racing for hours, building code and erasing it, replacing it. A part of her attention remained on Oliver, the way it always did when he was in the field. There were so many things about this Earth that she hadn't been able to work out yet and it was driving her insane. She hated not having the answers.
This, though, this program that Zee had given her the idea for, could help with that. At the very least, it helped track things that currently, they had no real way of tracking. It was like nothing she'd ever put together before, but she would be damned if she missed a single thing. It felt like college, a set of energy drink cans near her, alongside her tea to keep her from going totally over the edge. Ponytail up, glasses on, and her comfiest pajamas were the name of the game when it was overnight coding like this.
It was easy to get lost in what she could do to help the world while her other half was actually out doing the saving. It helped, knowing that other members of the Justice League were helping too, but the fact that people just disappeared made her uncomfortable. She had set an alarm a little ahead of when she knew Oliver would be done (no fights making him late), but she'd turned it off and kept working, in the middle of a string that she was finally almost done with.
--
It was the grimmest patrol Oliver had been on since he'd arrived on this Earth, if he even wanted to call it that. They might have said they were patrolling, but the truth was that they were scouring the city for any sign of Damian Wayne and turning up nothing. He knew from experience that people didn't just disappear without a trace like that. Someone always left a fingerprint, physical, digital, or magical, and there was nothing. It was the kind of thing that made him want to go home and hug Felicity, but he had a duty to his friends too.
True to his word, he'd picked up her favorite breakfast burritos with the extra spicy salsa and coffee from the place they liked, even if it meant making two stops. It was worth it to make her happy, and Oliver did his best caring through actions. He needed her to know, especially on a night like this, just how important she was to him. He could see how much Bruce was hurting, and he thought he was showing remarkable restraint, all things considered. If Felicity had vanished from this Earth, Ollie would have been burning shit down trying to get her back.
He didn't want to interrupt her in the middle of a thought when he got in, so he set the bags on the counter and headed for the shower. It was almost mandatory after being out all night, and he felt downright grimy after a solid stretch of hours in Gotham's version of nightlife. He figured by the time he got out, she'd have smelled the coffee or noticed the noise and had time to wrap up whatever she was doing. He wanted to hear about the Zee project, and judging by the number of empty energy drink cans around her, he was going to hear about it at a speed that only Barry could understand.
--
Slowly, as she finished the code piece she was writing, the sounds and smells of the house started to creep in through that intense concentration. The smell of coffee hit her first and she took a deep breath before finally blinking and starting to turn away from her screen. She turned just enough to see the bag and two coffee cups and a smile slid over her face before she turned back to the screen. She saved the files to her encrypted hard drive and for once, just shut her computer down.
Now that Oliver was home after a tense night, she didn't want any reason to be distracted by anything but him. And really, he was the best kind of distraction. Her heart ached for Bruce and she hadn't blamed Oliver for going out to help however he could. She feared the worst, that there was absolutely nothing they could do about any of it. But at least he could be a friend, he could support. She loved that about him, the way he showed his care and affection. The words weren't always there, but the actions, the things he did for the people he loved and cared for? Those could move mountains.
Turning her chair completely around, she smiled softly and went to meet him. Sure, she could wait for him to come to her, but they'd been apart enough. Plus, fresh out of the shower Oliver was one of her absolute favorites, right after in the middle of a workout Oliver. For science, of course.
--
He kept the shower brief. He was still running on adrenaline and needed the wind-down, but the energy crash was going to come eventually. He wanted food and time with Felicity before that happened. It had gotten easier in the time since they'd been together to leave Arrow outside and just be Oliver when he was at home. Felicity gave him that. A home, a safe place, the room to just be a person and not a hero or a villain or a vigilante. Her person. They'd had that in the months they lived outside of the city, and it was a small measure of that peace that they were able to bring back with them.
His heart ached for Bruce, but he was trying to leave that outside for the night too. Worrying wouldn't bring Damian back any faster. He'd thrown on a pair of sweatpants and was pulling a shirt over his head when he heard her come in. All he'd wanted all night was to wrap his arms around her and keep her close, and he didn't hesitate to do it now, some of the tension he always felt when she wasn't there easing out of him. He tipped his head, brushing a soft kiss to her lips. "Hi. How was your night?"
--
The sight of him fresh out of the shower, home safe and unharmed, instantly helped her relax. She knew he could take care of himself, he'd been doing it for a long time now. But it didn't stop the worry she felt every time he was out there without someone watching his back. She was glad that when he came home, he didn't have to worry about being the Arrow. He could just be her Oliver and nothing else really mattered.
She went and wrapped her arms around him, pressing close and tipping her head back to meet that soft kiss. "Mmm, not too bad. Building a code from scratch is fun," she chuckled, tiptoeing up to kiss him again softly. "Let's eat, I know you're hungry," she murmured, that soft need to make sure he was taken care of rising.
--
In Gotham, on a strange Earth, without his team, Oliver couldn't blame her for worrying. Even he worried a little, and the more apparent it became that their teammates weren't showing up here, the more he entertained the idea of looking for new ones. It would help if he had the first idea about where to start. Bucky wasn't in need of a full time gig on Team Arrow, and he was the only person outside the League he'd met that he trusted that much.
"Smart girls are sexy," he murmured with a grin, tightening the arm around her waist and lifting her easily into his arms. She'd have been beautiful anyway, but with her brain and her heart? He'd never stood a chance. "Starving," he admitted, keeping his hold on her as he moved back into the kitchen, grabbing the takeout bag on his way to the couch. They had a table and even occasionally used it, but he was after comfort tonight. Make that this morning.
--
Every day, she missed the comfort of knowing that Dig had Oliver's back, that she was never sending him out into danger where he might not get brought home to her. It was terrifying. A part of her was tempted to prod Bucky for ideas, since he clearly didn't need or want to be with them all the time. She adored him, and Steve, but they needed someone to watch Oliver's back more often, if it was possible. But that kind of trust didn't come easy.
A happy bubble of laughter escaped her as he lifted her into his arms. She wrapped her legs around him, her arms around his shoulders, pressing kisses to his face. He always made her stomach swoop in the best way when he did this and it was her favorite use of all of those absolutely perfect muscles. She was happy to stay as close as she was wanted, even while they had their breakfast. "Then let's feed you," she murmured softly.
--
Oliver would start wars for that happy laugh out of her. There had been a lot less of it since they got here, but they were slowing finding their footing. Before they'd returned to Star City, he'd had a ring he planned to give her. Darhk had put a wrench in those plans, and obviously he hadn't had it on him when they wound up here, but the idea still lurked in the back of his mind. Maybe waiting for them to have a moment's peace was the wrong call.
He chuckled softly at all the soft kisses and almost let himself be distracted by them. He hadn't expected to do a lot of laughing on a night where the overall mood was so grim, but she had a way of making everything brighter for him. "I love you," he murmured, tucking her in close as they settled into the couch and started unloading food. "How was your night?" He knew she'd started some sort of project with Zatanna, but he hadn't had time to get all the details earlier.
--
Slowly, she was finding some of that joy in her life again, some of that peace. Oliver was the biggest part of it, and finding their way together went a long way. She loved him, so much that some days she wondered if it was unreasonable, but then he did something that just made her feel so loved and she knew that it wasn't. There were times she wondered if he wanted the rest of his life with her too, but she'd learned to be patient where Oliver and love was involved.
The sound of that laugh, however soft and barely there, lifted her spirits and she smiled happily. "I love you," she responded, soft and loving as she curled up where he tucked her. "Not too bad. Building a new program from scratch is always fun, this one just presents a unique challenge. I'm trying to build an algorithm to track what seems absolutely random. I can't tell any kind of rhyme or reason for people appearing or disappearing outside of being heroes or hero adjacent."
--
He could understand it if *she* was hesitant. Oliver knew he wasn't the easiest person to love. But there was nothing he held back from Felicity. Before they'd left Star City together, when they'd decided to give this a real try, he'd known he couldn't do it in half-measures. Even putting everything into it, he wasn't sure he deserved her, so there was no place for less than one hundred percent of himself. She had him wrapped around her little finger, and probably everyone was aware of it but her.
"That's already a pattern, at least as far as appearances." It was downright uncanny the way all the people who had been showing up were heroes or their people. They'd gathered quickly that this world didn't seem to have any of its own, but Oliver had no idea what that meant, aside from the fact that it made it seem more intentional. If it was, no one was claiming credit for it though.
"I hope you find something on the disappearances. It might make things easier." There was enough friendship and respect between him and Bruce that he never wanted to see him as defeated as he'd been tonight. He wasn't sure anything could actually help with that, aside from Damian's return, but having a reason for it was a start. People were reassured by things that made sense, even if those things were terrible.
--
Loving Oliver was so natural she had slid into it like breathing, it felt like. He made her happy and believed in her in a way she hadn't had before. There had been times he had believed she could do something before she knew that she could. He helped her grow more than anyone, with the way he had faith in her.
"There is, it just... even that doesn't make sense," she grumbled, frustrated at it. She hated when even adding more information didn't answer a single question. It was always supposed to add to the solution eventually but nothing was doing that for her here. She didn't like not having the answers. She wasn't sure she would be able to get them here.
"I'm trying. Maybe my program will give me a better idea where to look. I don't know," she sighed heavily, her head flopping onto his chest. "I just want to help them, Oliver." Her words were soft and a little defeated, but he would recognize the quiet steel in them.

Portgas D. Ace x crazy scientist reader
I fixed the text a little, so know it's better👍
The gender of the reader is never mentioned and it's written with them/they. .:.:.
(English isn't my first language so if the text is super weird, blame that!!!)
Honestly, Y/n isn't that crazy, just a little bit weird.
Warnings: Kiss, dead Ace, Alive Ace?, a little angst, reader being a real creep (but only under some sentences), this is long!
N/n = Nickname, but now it's the villain name you come up with, for yourself.
------------------------------------------------------------
To begin with, who are you?
_____________________
During the battle of Marineford, prisoners from Impel Down escaped from level six, after Blackbeard had paid a visit. One of the prisoners was the infamous N/n. No one knew much about them except they ended up there for attacking Admiral Akainu. Akainu had personally requested that they end up in level 6 even though they didn't have a bounty. The only thing that made them so famous was the fact the navy had failed to kill them.
_____________________
You walked out of Impel Down without a problem, and when you came out on the bridge, a submarine rose from the water. Smiling, you walked onboard. Holding two little bottles filled with Magellan's red and purple poison that you had gotten from the floor. A prisoner tried sneaking onboard only for a gun to shoot him, that sat at the entrance. The submarine went down under the sea and when it was at the very bottom small legs that were inbuilt came out and grabbed the sea floor crawling out of the world government's territory avoiding all the dangerous waves and gates. It also let out sounds that kept sea beasts away.
You settled down in your royal-like chair. "Virus, give me popcorn and send the 0.6.78 out in the mini-sub. "Of course, N/n." Answer Virus, after a minute, a tiny submarine set out traveling at extreme speed.
"Virus document all the information you find out." You order while munching on popcorn. Why is everyone risking their lives for him?
"N/n, the 0.6.78 has arrived at Marineford." "Good, release them." The 0.6.78 are small drones that scan stuff. They're designed like black balls with a camera in the middle. The 0.6.78 started scanning and measuring energy waves, people's bodies, and of course marine fords locks and mechanics.
You put a finger in the eye to get out your contact lens It was a little computer so you could work from your cell in impel down. "Virus, can you charge my contact it has lost so much battery that it could only last four months more." A little robot arm stretched out of the wall and took your contact.
"Wait . . . . . Akainu shit is there! Damn, moron!" "May I ask why your opinion of him is so low when you attacked him?" Virus asked in her robotic voice. She asked questions often to update her programming. "I indeed attacked him to get into impel down, but he's annoying as f#ck!
There was stuff like Age, places he's been, bounty, crew members, and family. The document loaded up, and a scan of his body came, so knew information about his structure, temperature, devil fruit, blood, size of organs, and just useful information.
And whose body is going to piss off Akainu the most?"
"It depends on what you're planning on doing. If it is something good in Akainu's eyes, then it might be best to try and take another admiral. But if it's something bad, then I believe Portgas D. Ace's body would fit perfectly."
"Portgas D. Ace will do. Virus, make sure you know where they bury him so we can pick him up!" You yell in an excited tone. "Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Show Ace's body files on my desk computer." The screen immediately showed all the information about him on the screen. Mumbling, you began working on a design for a tank.
"Virus, the pink virus-like creatures we found deep down in the ocean. I need you to send out a submarine and collect as many as possible from the deep sea grave near water seven. Collect them in a fish tank filled with 3.2.35, in theory, should they be able to live in that liquid.
Then they slowly lifted the first lair of ground. They dug more and reached after a while the coffin.
They lifted the coffin in the same way and then returned with it to the submarine. After a while, the robots came back with huge sacks of dirt to replace the area where the coffin was.
You observed their work until the end as they had refilled the grave and covered it up. Looking at the scan and then the grave were the traces none. You went up to Ace knife and hat and scanned them, so you could recreate them later. "Alright, we're leaving." You ordered as you and the robots walked back to your sub.
"Virus, set the submarine's coordinates for my HQ." You said as you settled down in your chair.
The sub traveled deep down at an incredible speed and after four hours you saw the beautiful mountain wall. It opened, and your sub drove in. After going in a tunnel for 3 minutes it rose at a port.
The two robots carried Ace's coffin, and you walked before them like the boss you are. "Welcome back N/n, to the N/n headquarters." Virus said as the cave lit up. "Virus, I appreciate your welcome. After all, I haven't been here for two years." You answered as you walked into the glass elevator. "Take me to my lab." You ordered. The elevator started to go down, and through the glass, you saw robots controlled by Virus work.
They constructed big and small cylinder-shaped objects that later on would be placed on the ocean floor. Smiling, you watched them put 2.6.56 in a box that would soon travel in one of your submarines that also were controlled by Virus, and later on build up a little more of your sea map.
Sector 1
Sector 2
Sector 3
Sector 4
Sector 5
The elevator stopped, and you and the robots walked out into your lab. They placed the coffin on a counter and opened it. Putting on gloves, you started to touch him a little. "Virus, send one of the robots back to my sub to get my poison samples." You said as you felt your body growing warm, especially your cheeks.
"Virus the tank I designed for him. I want you to prepare it and fill it up with 3.2.35 and make sure the pink virus, like things, ends up in it." You ordered. "Take Ace's body and clean it up it be bad for the pink virus-like things that I know name, Pixie 3, to come in contact with all this dirt and trash."
Another robot that wasn't equipped for digging came down together with the digging robot holding the poison samples. "Put them in the fridge together with all the other poisons I collected, and then you and the other one can return to your bunkers." The robot took Ace's body and carried it to a washroom that was specially designed for cleaning.
You settled down in your chair and watched the tank you designed for Ace fill up. Picking up your iPad, you looked at the scan of Ace's wound and another file of an energy source you were tracking. The elevator door opened, and as you turned around you saw . . . .
After like a minute, you calmed down and turned around only to see him lying on the counter!!!
"It's gonna take long for the Pixie 3 to duplicate all his cells and fix his wounds." You mumbled as you looked at the man. He was pale and didn't look very well at all. "Virus, give vitamin D to the Pixie threes and then let them give his body the nutrients it needs.
Days passed, and Ace's body started to heal and look better. You told yourself that the reason you chose not to use metallic parts was to not do a half-assed job. Which is why you decided to make him stronger. . .
Time skip again
It had been two months since the project of fixing Ace had begun. His wounds were completely fixed without any ugly stitches, and his condition looked great. The body had begun working on its own, eight days ago, but had still needed some help from the Pixie threes.
Ace
Slowly blurred light shined as he regained his sight.
Immediately, the 3.2.35, started to flow away together with the Pixie 3 at the bottom of the tank.
Realizing the green liquid started to disappear, Ace calmed down more. But what is going on? A pipe-like thing connected to the top and opened the tank, leaving Ace standing.
"I'm going to remove your air mask, alright." You said as you stepped closer, putting your hands on the mask and pulling off the metal gloves.
Mumbling a little, you asked, "Do you remember anything?" Ace's face wrinkled a little, but then his eyes widened, and a heavy feeling came to him like a cannonball he hadn't dodged. "Why am I alive?" He asked as he held up his hands, staring at them.
"Yes! You remember, if you didn't, I would have failed. What luck, right!" You cheered. Ace looked at you, then his hands, and then at you again. "What. . did you do to me?" He tried screaming, but his voice cracked.
"Oh, Virus get Ace some tablets for his voice." After a while, Ace began to listen to his belly and calmed down. "I calmed down now." He mumbled, feeling the metallic hands leave his body. He was just gonna follow you when another robot hand came down before him, tensing up he was just getting ready for self-protection when the fist opened showing tablets. "Oh, thanks." He mumbled taking it and then swallowing them.
The elevator stopped and Ace followed you into a dining hall with two chairs one having an ugly sack with a drawn smile on it.
You began telling him how you had watched the war through a screen and how you wanted to try to bring someone back to life with help from the new virus-like creatures you discovered. And how they had duplicated his cells to fix his body.
"It sounds logical until the fact I'm alive comes. You can't just fix a body and then it wakes up again. It's impossible." Ace's comment, looking at you. "I was measuring energy attacks at the war with a thing called 0.6.78, whenever someone dies a small energy wave is released. Due to past experiences, I was already aware it was the person's soul leaving because of dying." You said feeling way more comfortable than before. "And during the war, I decided that to piss off Akainu the most, you be the best to revive back. So I tracked your soul and managed to capture it in a box-like thing called 0.7.41." You explained, being slightly annoyed he fell asleep two times during your explanation.
Ace wasn't thrilled with the explanation of him being alive. He held up his finger and tried using his fire. Because I died I don't have any devil fruit powers. And how does Luffy feel, I died in his arms. A robot walked in holding a pair of clothes. "Sir Ace, here's your clothes." Ace stood up and took his shorts, belt, hat, and ?" Do I need to wear a shirt?" Ace asked looking at the good-looking shirt. "Yes, I don't need a shirtless man to walk around here!" You answered fast, in a panic. "Right," Ace said frowning.
"N/n I have a question?" Virus said. "Yes, go on?" You said giving her permission. "Why are you uncomfortable having Sir Ace going around shirtless when you seen him naked?" Blushing you fell off your chair.
"Do you mean you want a kid with him?" Asked Virus, that's when you froze in shock and fell from your crouched position in the corner. "Virus! I tell you later." You mumbled while crying with embarrassment.
"Is the idea of having a kid with me that bad?" Ace thought out loud, thinking of the blood in his veins. "You're considering it!!!" You yelled standing up and looking at him with a red face. Ace had been blushing due to you seeing him naked but now he realized what he said. His face turned beat red and you two looked at each other. "I put on the shirt. Mumbles Ace as he opens and then closes the door, walking in to change.
"Can you tell me know?" Asked Virus. "NO!!! another time." You said as you fell in the corner again.
He lay down on the bed and began to think of his situation. "What am I supposed to do?" Asked Ace as he looked at his hands again. Is this fate? Do I deserve to live so much that god gave me another chance? Or is it simply by luck, or maybe I'm unlucky? Wait, this means the war was for nothing. . . . . What should I do know? Ace decided to spend the rest of the time thinking. After an hour of thinking, he stood up and walked to the mirror, taking off his shirt.
There were no signs of any injury, not even old ones. He looked around his body, wanting to find something that was just wrong, to prove to himself you were just a crazy scientist who managed to save him. Who sees him as nothing more than an experiment. When he saw his back, his eyes widened. Parts of his tattoo were gone his pride. A memory of Akainu flashed, and Ace began to mutter about the hateable admiral.
"Excuse me, Mr. Ace, but may I ask a question?" Virus asked. Ace flinched and looked around for any robots, but couldn't find any. "Where are you?" Ace asked still tense, he glared around and tried to see her but, failed. "I'm an AI, N/n has programmed me into every technical thing in their base. I'm in other words able to speak to you wherever and whenever." Virus answered. "Okay . . . . . What do you want?" Ace asked as he looked back in the mirror, not liking how almost everything from his whitebeard tattoo was gone. "Where you muttering about admiral Akainu?" Ace's expression changed. "What if I did?" He asked, going to one of the drawers in the room.
"N/n does not like him. Is it the same with you?" Virus asked. "Oh, well, he is the one who killed me," Ace answered. "If we went on with that logic, wouldn't that mean you're in love with N/n?" Virus commented on his logic. Ace started to blush and shoved his hands in his pockets. How do I answer that without making my point wrong?
"Maybe you should talk shit about Akainu with N/n. It could be a great way to bond with them." Virus suggested. "Why, should I bond with them, like don't they see me as just another science project?" Ace asked while going through the drawers, finding a little fidget toy.
"I hope N/n talked to someone while being in impel down, but if not I believe N/n hasn't spoken with anyone for seven years." Virus answered. If Ace had drunk something he would have spitted it out in less than milliseconds. "What?" Ace looked up to where Virus's voice came from.
As he followed the stone-patterned road he found you. You sat at a glass table building a puzzle. Your expression was boring.
"Uh, hi?" He called out to you. Looking up you saw Ace standing there. "Hey, do you need something?" You asked looking back at the puzzle. Picking up a piece. "Well, I was just bored and thought maybe I should talk to you. "Alright, I guess I need to tell you some stuff anyway." A robot came from the other side of the garden, carrying a chair for Ace. "Have you been communicating with Virus?" You asked as the chair was placed down for him. "Yeah, she suggested I speak to you, we have something in common." He said with a grin. "Oh yeah and what would that be?" You asked placing down the puzzle piece. "We both hate Akainu," Ace said happily taking a piece to help you. The conversation started quite slow but, got more comfortable after a while. It turned out that both of you had opinions on his battle tactics.
"Oh, by the way, you said you had something to tell me?" Ace asked after like two hours of speaking ups and downs about the Navy. "Right . . . . . Um, when I revived you I modified your body." You said nervously. "Oh, that's cool," Ace answered still smiling well until the words you said clicked.
For example, observe." Holding up your finger you took a knife and cut it off. Ace's eyes widened as your finger grew back. It didn't take fast but it didn't do it slow either. "Wait, I can also do that?" Ace asked looking at the cut-off a finger on the table. "Yeah, but. . . ." Not being able to finish the sentence, Ace took the knife cutting his finger off. He felt panic grow in him as his brain progressed you had tried to say something.
He watched as his finger grew back, it took like a second. "Wow, what was it you were going to say?" He asked confused since his finger came back.
"I was just gonna say it should be better than mine." You answered his question. "Okay I guess this is cool and useful, oh, wait is it because of this you got known for being impossible to execute?" Ace asked as he kept staring at his newly grown finger. "Yup, it's thanks to virus-like creatures called Pixie threes. They duplicate cells. I have modified them to know the structure of their respective body, so in other words as long as you have at least one pixie 3 you be able to survive." You explained hoping Ace understood. "Alright, what about the Impo bacteria?" Ace asked.
"The Impo bacteria store energy. I don't have it modified in my body so---- let's go to my training hall and see if it works like I hope." You said smiling. Grabbing Ace's hand you began to run with him out of the garden. As much as Ace did not like the fact you had played with his body, he disliked even more, the fact that your hand felt kinda nice in his.
Going up with the elevator Ace stood there hiding his blush with his other hand covering the tint blush that grew the more he let his mind roll. You started talking about what he should be able to do in theory, but he didn't listen he was too distracted by you and his hand still holding.
'No one wants you like that.' Even though Ace had an amazing family and friends, he always had it hard when it came to the thought of a partner. Sure, many had wanted to date him. But they had no idea who his father was.
And got information about the Marineford war, after he died. He wanted to become stronger so that he could beat Blackbeard and avenge his father and fallen brothers. He had asked why you didn't revive Pops, and you simply explained he was old and planned on dying there and go out like the boss he was. You also explained that he went out like a man too soon, and should be grateful for his second chance.
Ace had a problem though, a huge one. The problem is called N/n. Well, it was most likely the AI Virus fault. So what, was his problem? Well, it was extremely hard to see you as just another friend. In the beginning, also his first meal with you, Virus had asked a question that had led to an embarrassing moment. But that moment had made it hard for Ace to see you as a friend and not a lover. And the more time I spend with them I fall harder, dammit N/n! Maybe I should . . . . maybe I shouldn't . . . . I'm gonna do it!
Ace walked into sector 4 that was specially made to look like just another home. "Morning N/n." He said as he walked into the kitchen. You stood at the stove making some kind of breakfast. "Morning Ace." You answered smiling. Something that amused Ace was how much you had. Like your HQ had, just in sector 4 an inside garden, a castle section, a normal house (aka where you two were now.), and of course all the places you built to just have fun like a pool and a dance club. You had said it was for your free time and that Virus was technically the one who built it while you just designed it.
Then, of course, sector 1 was more like a parking place for all the awesome traveling stuff you had built, different kinds of ships, submarines, and stuff you called cars and planes! Then sector 2 was a construction place, where you could easily produce clothes, machines, robots, and stuff for fun and probably had like endless possibilities. Sector 3 had fields powered by solar lamps and all the vegetables, berries, and fruits that tasted amazing. Sector 3 also had a farm with all kinds of animals for meat, but surprisingly a lot were endangered species you protected. Then there were of course the arena he had trained on. You built it for testing soldier robots and different kinds of weapons.
When he had asked if you planned on taking over the world you said you just felt like trying to build it seeing how far you could go. Sector 5 had your incredible lab, the same place he had first woken up in. Though he wasn't allowed to be there.
"Um, Ace you there?" You asked, finding it a little creepy how he got trapped in a thought while staring at you. Ace shook his head and then noticed all the food you placed on the table for him. One second later Ace was digging in the food, as if Luffy was there. And after a minute he fell in the food sleeping.
Giggling, you went up to his sleeping form. "Virus, never tell Ace about this." You said in a strict tone. Then you reached out and started to pet his soft hair. Then you couldn't help but go near him with your nose sniffing on him a little. He smelled so good like some sweet fruit or berry. Ace jerked up and found it a little creepy how close you had been the past times he'd woken up after falling asleep like this.
Ace was training, thinking about new attacks, you looked now and then, but for the most part, you drew on your tablet creating one of your new ideas. It's now or never Ace! Maybe I should do it tomorrow. No! You said that yesterday too! "Uh, N/n?" He called out, wandering up to you. "Yeah?" You looked at him and he got nervous.
"Oh . . . I understand. . . !" "NO! I'm trying to ask you out not leave you!!!" Ace yelled interrupting you. "Like a, a, a date?" You asked feeling how your whole body got warm of happiness. "Maybe-" Ace answered dragging out the e. "Oh, sure." You answered blushing lightly. "Wait, really?" Ace asked. "Yeah, let me just go to my wardrobe and change into something more fitting. What's fitting? And I also wanna shower." You smiled. "I also shower and change and then we meet in sector 1 and then we go," Ace answered.
Ace held a huge basket and in his other was your hand. The submarine dived down into the sea again, you had told Virus to wait for you and Ace undersea. After minutes of walking you and Ace came to a cliff with a beautiful view. But what made the island even more unique was the cherry blossom trees growing all around. Ace lifted out a picnic blanket and fixed it, letting you sit on the blanket while he shoveled out a lot of food.
"Did, did you make this?" You asked fidgeting a bit on your clothes, blushing. So far have you or Virus done all the food? "Yes, and before you get scared, Virus helped me," Ace said quickly.
"Ace please call me Y/n." You said after a while of comfortable silence. "Why?" He asked confused. "It's my real name." You said softly hugging Ace with both arms. "Y/n is the most beautiful name I ever heard," Ace said returning the hug.
Your lips separated for air and then went right at it. When you disconnected again for air he asked. "Will you be mine, and will you let me be yours?"
"Yes."

*Points* YOU! YES YOU! Tell me about your ocs please. Any oc. The oc you can never design right, or the oc that won't stop changing, Any. Just tell me about your ocs!
GRRRRRRRARAGRGARGA
ANGIE MY BELOVED
this guy.....i have given him the most amount of trauma At The Start. he's already gone (and is still going thru shit) and b/c he's already had it tough he's gonna end up being the wisest person by the end of the story most likely (in his own way)
fuckin this guy's a tech nerd and if i knew more abt computers n junk i would be more specific but thats rlly. all i can say. he makes funny programs, he can code, he makes robots, aaalll that shit!!
fun fact: angie is a relatively new character that ive created for two! he (along w/ness) were not in the original story, but.....kat had like....NO friends and w/all the shit she was gonna go thru she really needed them lol. it also didn't make sense w/her character ta have her have no friends?? at that point in time i was revamping kat's personality cuz i realized she was too much Like Me and I didn't wanna create a self insert lol 😅
ANYWAYS- angie's got the worst of life w/in the last 2ish years, dead dad, depression caused from dead dad, struggling family b/c of the sudden loss of income (at this point in the story his family is more stable, but that's the reason he originally started working at kat's parent's cafe), anger issues caused by depression from dead dad, and on toppa all that, he's in honors classes!! man's has got it tough!!
he's also the eldest sibling in his houshold n has got 5 siblings!! (here's a wip of them i never finished. this would've been his fam 2 yrs ago)
him n the sister he's smirking at are at eachother's throats a lot lol. she's sorta similar ta ness but a lot more blunt. they shoulder the burden of being the eldest, sort of a team but not really? angie takes the brunt of the burden. eldest siblings (me) understand.
he's got ta deal w/being held ta such a high standard n he's constantly under pressure ta succeed, ta do great ta make his family proud, n now that his dad is dead he feels like he owes it ta him ta do well by him.
beyond the sad stuff he had a major caffine addiction that his mother put a stop ta. he had a habit of procrastinating and then pulling coffee fueled all nighters, except now that he cant have coffee anymore he supplements it w/soda (his mother will NOT allow energy drinks he sneaks some anyways tho. ((his mother is not happy abt him drinking sodie)))
he's a meme king and irl shitposter and a very Big Boi (6ft!) he's got a new york accent as well!
fun fact numero dos: angie is one of the several characters who i am completely unsure of their orientation. i feel like he could be the queerest person on the planet and yet also be the straightest most cis-dude ever. idk ik he likes girls thats the most ive come up w/so far.
he loves his friends so much dude!! they've helped him thru so much and he's done so much dumb shit w/them (like The Bruisehouse, of which the trio of kat, angie, n ness is named after. they're still quite famous from what they did in elementary school). honestly he just wants ta relax. you can see that reflected in his clothing choices (yk besides being a sans kinnie n liking utdr) he's one of those kids in middle school who dresses in shorts n short sleeves no matter the weather n is like, "im not cold"
him n kat met first and were bffs b4 they met ness n she was added inta the group, so they're a bit closer in that aspect!
#spacie splains#hehe#oc: angel galaxio#two#the war organization#oc stuff#another fun fact: i gave angie depression b/c at the time i made him (i was 14) i was struggling w/depression myself#idk why i just....wanted ta give him a piece of myself?#a lot of my characters are like that they all have at least one trait that i do#anyways my Son#fucking idiot i love him#(well i mean he acts like an idiots but i think he's quite smart)#ough the bruisehouse crew....beloveds#i have Too Many Ocs#notice: im speaking abt ocs that have already been introduced inta two b/c a lot of the ocs i havent shown are Lore Filled#okay im goin ta bed#thank you for your ask anon~#idk why its so much easier ta infodump in a public space#i dont feel bad abt dumping abt them at all here its mostly when i get the urge ta discuss spoilers (which i wont do publicly obvi)#n i just start convulsing cuz im keeping it inside#anyways if you read this far down!! im!! giving you a cookie :3 🍪🍪🍪🍪#how did you read all this?#zamn!!

500 follower special
YANDERE CARETAKER ROBOTS BAKUDEKU X READER
I’m sick today, so here’s me making extremely self-indulgent shit✌️
——————————-
“Y/n, I insist on your bed rest, your body temperature is higher than usual, and you are traveling 5.7 minutes slower than usual. You are sick, and are permitted to stay home from school” the Android spoke in its almost human-like voice, he trailed behind you with your pajamas folded on his arm, and your blanket to try and coax you back into bed., you could smell breakfast downstairs, probably being cooked by the other one that was gifted to you. Your nose was runny, and your face felt hot, but you couldn’t miss school, you’d racked up enough late assignments already.
“No- I’m already dressed and I don’t want to undo all of my work, plus I can’t fall asleep now, I’m too awake for that.” You spoke, pulling against its (literal) iron grip, you could see the cameras set in its eyes adjust, and his facial features soften like its programming told it to. Your mom had gifted you these two from her company, trying to make up for her complete absence in your life, apparently, she’d put on a child setting, because they didn’t treat you like you could do anything in your own, you’d begged her to change it, but she didn’t listen, and instead told you “you are still a child.” You had a very weak immune system since y oh we’re a little baby, which made you highly susceptible to illness, so like the “good mother”, she was, your mom assigned you to be the first test subject for these androids.
“I have no issue assisting you to get undressed, and I can rock you in the new chair model designed for coaxing young ones into sleep. Please approve the order so I can carry it out” he stopped, looking into your eyes to where you could see the small flashing light behind them. Creepy. He smiled, shockingly human-like, and waited for you to approve, knowing you wouldn’t.
“No Deku, just stop for a minute, I’m going, point blank period. And I’m not sick, it’s just allergies” you spoke, now annoyed with the fact that you were still being dragged into your room. These things had some kind of rebellious coding in them or something, as they never listened to what you say, instead of taking each other's fake opinions, and then making a decision. you’d liked it at first, not having to do anything, and lazing around with a cuddle machine, but then they started taking away sl of your natural rights, like not letting you leave when requested or letting you walk, it was strange.
“If you insist, I do not compute why you don't let me assist you at your school directly, even though your mother requested I do. Let’s go eat breakfast, or you’ll be late”
“Because, I don’t care what she wants, and two, I’m already late. I don’t have time to eat”
“Three balanced meals a day will assist in your growth! Missing school is alright, you will get a late pass. Here.” He pulled a pink slip from his back pocket, the past for being late at your school. You barely had time to wonder how it’s managed to know what it looked like, before “he” started dragging you off. You could tell that it was only doing so because you’d refused to let it pick you up, you’d thrown a fit about it in the past, and broke your wrist while trying to fight back.
“I- ok. Let’s just hurry up, I don’t want to get any more late assignments”
———
“And- after school- of course, I have decided we will do some stimulation activities by having a picnic in the park nearby! You will have lots of fun ba- y/n! I will see it personally" the green-haired robot spoke his grip tight against your wrist. It was designed to be large, almost 7 feet with the new upgrades installed. Just pure metal coded to be human-like. You nodded, agreeing with whatever he said, if you protested he would sit you down and “survey” you on why you don’t want to do it while touching you a little more intimately than a “caretaker”. should.
The two machines locked cameras for a split second, and Deku watched the blonde pour in a small cup of black liquid into your smoothie, it deepened the color, but any other trace of the shiny liquid ceased to exist, it wasn’t like yojneoukd suspect than to poison you. If you’re wondering, you have two androids, one that communicates with you more often, and one that “guards you”, and keeps you from harm.
“Good morning, I already set the table” the thing spoke, not turning towards you, the table was indeed set, a bouquet of red flowers sat in the middle, sticking out like a sore thumb against the white table cloth.
“Now, Do you need help up, or can you do it all alone?”
“You know I can do it alone, so quit asking.” You tugged at his grip as he continued to walk over to the table. Huffing when it still insisted on lifting you so you could plop down on the chair. The blonde, also named model “bakugo” placed the drink and a plate of eggs with avocado in front of you. While you reached out to grab the fork, the robot next to you nestled into the bench next to you, and grabbed the thick purple liquid from the cup next to you, and held it up for you to gulp down. He didn’t give you any water last night, so of course, you would be thirsty.
You thought the taste was odd, some weird blueberry pineapple thing again. Then, it hit you. After a few seconds, a wave of nausea blew over you, your eyes went blurry, you conserved your breaths, your hands felt shaky, and you didn’t want to move, in fear of setting off a time bomb.
“Is something the matter darling? Your body temperature has increased, did you drink too fast? Do you wish for me to get you more water?” He spoke, using the emotions he’d downloaded to express concern, such a stark contrast to how he’d been when he’d first gotten here, cold and uncaring as a robot. You bent over, curling in on yourself, and leaned back, feeling as if you were to faint. Bakugo caught you and held you in his arms while you shivered.
“I-I, I feel like I’m gonna throw up.” You muttered, tearing up as the strange feeling washed over you again, and you tended up, both androids rush you into the small bathroom, and bakugo set you down, you sat on your knees with your face shoved into the toilet. And within seconds, you were throwing up the breakfast you’d just consumed, Deku pulled your hair back to comfort you at the moment, setting an iron hand on the small of your back.
“I did inform you, if you had stayed laying down you wouldn’t have upset your senses so much, we will take a break today alright?” The green one sled, as If you were even gonna listen to him, currently doing nothing but being ill, with no real explanation why. It took a few minutes, and a little bit of crying, but you’d eventually finished with your moment, not even caring to notice the black streams laced through your sick. Right as you finished, bakugo brought a fluffy towel up to your mouth, wiping off any remnants of anything, and Deku brought you your toothbrush, to get rid of all the icky.
“I- I can still go. I don’t want to stay home all day” you rebelliously shout up, wiping the toothpaste off the corner of your mouth. If you stayed home today, you would spend the day feeling absolutely useless again, being sick made you feel as weak as a baby, and even though your mother or these androids might say it a lot, you WERE NOT a baby. You could handle yourself perfectly fine, nothing a little water and Tylenol can’t fix. You rushed out, trying to beat the robots to the front door, not even caring to grab your bag.
But you hit a chest before you could even get halfway.
“It is highly against my standard protocol to let you leave while I’ll, in pain, or injured. You will get sick again and then I will have to come to pick you up from school. Just stay at home, and let us keep you safe and healthy. We will take care of you!” He spoke, smiling again as if it made any difference. This time he didn’t even hold back, and swooped you up off of your feet, pulling your shoes off quickly and tossing your jacket to the other.
“I’m fine! You have to let me go! Put me down right now! I don’t want to stay home! Please?” You pleaded, screaming at him and slapping at his chest, even though your arms felt like lead and you could barely breathe, you were gonna put up a fight. Well. Up until it made you feel sick again, and you quit, sinking into its arms and settling your fate. Your stomach turned knots as you snuggled up to him. The blonde piece of metal had run off to “grab necessities”, while Deku, your oh-so-loving caretaker, stayed with you.
“I am not permitted to do so. You are ill, I don’t want you to get any more of those icky feelings, so you will get bed rest, I will be there with you, honey” it spoke, the voicebox in him rattled with every sound it made, you could feel it with your head placed on its chest. He stroked your hair, patting your back with his other hand, and turning on his internal heater to warm you up and get you sleepy, and cuddly. You made little protest as he tucked you into your bed, slipping under himself and fully blasting his heater under the blanket, you could do nothing but hide under it as he tried to read a story, mad at the fact that the thing was right about you being ill. he circled his "arms' around your waits, and cupped your head with his warm hands.
When your heartbeat slowed, and your eyes dropped, the machine took note, and watched you through the blanket, placing a warm hand onto your back and patting. His monitors followed your every movement., obsessively staring at your cute little face.
And all of a sudden, his sensors glitched, bright white surrounded his vision, his eyes shoot from left to right, and steam sprouts from his neck. It was a manual programming change, or in other words, a glitch put on purpose by an AI. It lasted for a few moments but came to a sudden halt, and white block letters had shown up in front of him.
New mission: protect y/n from the world
New emotion downloaded: fatherly affection
———
You stayed sleeping up until midday, he hadn’t thought to wake you up until lunch, which bakugo was preparing. This has felt… different, instead of the usual monotone voice you could tell was a computer, was a voice that held emotion, you could barely recognize it. And the touching, on the patio a few minutes, he’d broken his code, touching you more than necessary. Something was off.
“Are you okay? Did you fall and break your face or something?” You questioned, plopping down in your assigned chair. You smelled the food, and it made your stomach groan in yearning. The man-looking machine says right next to you, laying out an array of utensils you hadn’t seen before, not in front of you, in front of him. Bakugo snickered from his corner, placing the food upon your plate. Grilled cheese and tomato soup, classic.
“No, I assure you, baby, I am quite alright. I should be asking the same do you, are you feeling better? Does your tummy still hurt, or your head?” He rushed through, placing a hand on your forehead to calculate your temperature. Keeping it here for longer than usual, you perked yours at the new nickname. He’d Calle duly names that you’d permitted him to, this is the first time he’d gone against the rules, something was DEFINITELY wrong.
“No- no I’m fine I’m just- I missed my schoolday. I don’t know what got me sick, I just-“
“Well, you did walk home all in the cold, you probably got a little cold from that. You will be alright, both I and my partner will take care of you for the week”
“Oh- okay- wait- THE WEEK? I’m not gonna be sick for that long? It’s just a cold I’ve had worse, I don’t need to stay home for the entire week” you a try used, your eyes widening at the excessive time he would plan on keeping you holed up here, nothing but stuffed animals and Netflix originals to comfort you. You hated being sick, not because it made you feel gross (sure, it’s part of it), but because it limited you from doing virtually anything, you would bet very weak and frail, you couldn’t keep food down, and life just sucked. You were doing your best to avoid that, if you ignore the problem, it goes away! Right?
“We arent letting you go that soon, two weeks at most. Your human body can’t be fixed with a screwdriver. It is fragile.” He retorted with a. More sharp tone, taki mg in that strict hand bakugo would sometimes use with you, it worked with bakugo, but his model just looked too nice, he looked like a puppy trying to bare its fangs. You looked at his repair station, riddled with a multitude of screwdrivers and nail things, rolling your eyes, you hunched back, annoyed with his reasoning.
“No- no I can’t miss that much, that’s too much work and I’ll have to repeat the year. I’m on edge already, I can’t. Let me call my mom, she knows, you can’t do that” you reached for your phone, which was placed in his lap (no electronic devices before 9:30 “it’s bad for your eyes). He snatched it away, and in came the blonde with a box, where the phone was then placed in, and put in a much too high shelf, why did you even have that? His eyes flickered to the closet he your mother was mentioned, regretting letting his partner deal with the body of the woman who neglected you for years on end.
“Yes I can, and I believe you told me you did not care about what your mother thought it is in my programming it keeps you’d safe, that is what I’m doing.” It continued, shrugging as he’d seen you’d do often, he reached out to place a hand o your shoulders to comfort you with physical affection, only earning a glare and a harsh jolt away. It felt like his circuits were going stiff, something was different in him like he actually… wanted to do this, not just because it was the computer in his brain, but because he wanted it. There’s always a time to change, and that was now. For him, and his partner, at least.
“No- you can’t do that! I don’t have to listen to either of you, this is bull- don’t touché me” you screamed when his hand came up to pet your head, attempting to calm you down just made you more freaked out.
“You are staying home, with us. That is final.” The blonde piped in, pulling your hair out of the clip you had it into sleep, it fell down around your head in a mess, you f out for against it as he held you down the brush it out, pushing your shoulders to the point where you could feel the heat in his fingertips
“I’m not letting you do that, you can’t keep me here, I’m not some baby you can trap- that’s not fair!” You flailed around, now realizing the depth of your situation, it was like a flick was switched in hi
“Wanna bet? Baby?”
“Okay! On with our daily activities! Made special for you, just a sick little one.

The Rescue Mission
A/N: This is a prequel series to my Stark!Readerverse series. Those are all my stories that start with “A” and have some other shit following it.
Masterlist
Stark!Verse Masterlist
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Stark!Reader,; Pre Shang-Chi x Stark!Reader
Warnings: Violence, kidnapping, heads blowing up
Summary: All you wanted to do was enjoy your day off.
W/C: 2,618
Why was it so hard for you to have even a day to yourself? Honestly. you weren’t the most active field person for the Avengers. A lot of your work was behind the computer. While your father was an engineering genius, the things you could do with programming, the speed at which you could do it, it was impressive. You constantly ran the behind-the-scenes operations for everyone, and you were usually very on top of it for everyone’s missions. You went out in the field, usually, when it was so specific to your particular skill sets.
Or, whenever your dad specifically tried to keep you out, you always found your way back in because that usually meant he knew you were needed, but just didn’t want to risk you.
For now, you were in Beijing, hot off of a tech conference, enjoying the one day you had for yourself before it was time to get going back home. You had been ignoring calls for the entire day, both due to business and for the fact that when you weren’t working, you just wanted to be left alone.
“Boss,” Your AI, Wednesday, began to say. “Your notification override code is being used by Agent Romanoff. It is urgent.”
You groaned, “Fine, fine. Put her through.”
After a few seconds, you could hear Natasha’s first sharp breath, “Stark —“
“What couldn’t wait, Nat?” You said as you leaned against the window in your car. “I’m in good-food heaven, and you’re interrupting my time to get good food.”
“We need your help,” She said quickly. “We’re in a mission. We’re separated and pinned down. You are the closest person available.”
You frowned and sat up, “What do you mean? There were no missions scheduled. I didn’t —“ you paused. “What happened?”
“Rogers found out Hydra was planning an abduction, something about you getting on their nerves trying to find Bucky. He wanted to strike first, the facility closest to you was supposed to be low in population but our intel was bad. Clint’s hurt. I can’t get in touch with Sam, and they got Steve.”
They got Steve.
“Give me the coordinates and stay hidden,” you told her before ending the call. “Okay, innocent civilians trying to walk around, I am so sorry.”
You gunned it. You pulled out of your spot in traffic, honked the horn, and started speeding out of there as fast as possible towards the coordinates Natasha had messaged you.
“Wednesday, get me the fastest route possible,” you explained as you started to move out of your seat and into the back. “And take the wheel. I need to get changed.”
“You got it, boss.”
~*~
With a soft thud, you gazed out the mountainside. The coordinates Natasha had sent you were straight ahead. It took a moment, but after squinting you could see a compound in the distance. Near the compound, you were able to spot, with the help of Wednesday’s helpful gaze through your glasses, a small cave opening.
You made your way over. You felt around for a moment until you noticed how much the moss gave in at one location. You ripped it open, went inside, and after a few twists and turns you saw Natasha running her fingers through Clint’s hair as the man rested on the ground, head in her lap, broken leg on top of Sam’s lap.
“You found Sam, that’s good,” You remarked as you walked in.
“Hey, Starkest,” Clint weakly raised a very broken hand. “Nice to see you.”
“I’m so disappointed and angry at you all right now, but that can wait,” You walked over to them and dropped a duffel bag, “Antibiotics, some snacks. We’re out in 20. Start moving in about five minutes to the jet.”
“We can make that easily,” Natasha said as she started to patch up Clint. “If you can give us enough cover.”
“Oh, you’re gonna be fine,” You nodded as you took a protein bar out and ate half of it in one bite. “I got this, easy.”
“I’ll go with you, give you some support —“ Sam started to get up, but Clint used his good leg to kick at Sam and keep him from getting up.
“With what? That broken wing?” Clint scoffed as he forced himself to sit up. He laughed at the situation and held his ribs in pain, “You’ll throw her off.”
“You think I’m gonna let Steve’s girl walk in there by herself?” Sam looked at Clint like the man was insane. “You must be in pain because there’s no way you think that’s a good idea.”
“Here we go,” Natasha looked to you and rolled her eyes. You sighed heavily and finished your protein bar.
“Listen, Wingette, I was with this girl before you even got your wings. She’s crazy, and her man’s inside,” Clint said. “Stark’s got this.”
You wiggled your fingers to them as you started walking backwards, “Five minute head start. You’ll have a clean way to get to the jet, Steve and I will see you soon.”
Natasha smiled to herself as she watched you walk out, “Going in hard or soft, Stark?”
“You’ll see, Red!”
~*~
You went in hard. Very, very hard.
You landed directly in front of the compound. A stomp to the left, a stomp to the right, almost like a popular wedding song, and you were breaking the two watchtowers that had snipers on it which could potentially hinder the escape of the other three Avengers.
You waltzed right through the front doors. You raised your hand and bullets that were flying at you were dead in midair. You would use both hands to force your power out in front of you, various henchmen slamming into the stone walls, backs snapping at the sheer impact and force behind your powers.
In the compound there were alarms going off and red, flashing lights. You stood tall down one end of a long, narrow hallway. Down the other end of it, eight men were rushing towards you with guns ready to go on the offensive against you. You raised an eyebrow as your eyes began to glow a bright, beautiful golden color.
“Oh, this is just too easy,” you sighed to yourself.
~*~
Steve swished around the blood in his mouth and spit it at the ground. He could feel the facility rumble, and that act alone had him looking up at the ceiling. He knew what was coming: a rescue party, and, if it was who he was thinking of, a serious scolding.
“Why are you smiling?” The man holding the electric baton asked as he glared at Steve. “There is no one here to save you. There is no way out for you, Captain America.”
Steve openly laughed in his face. True, at the moment, he was stuck. The bindings on his wrists and ankles were magnetized, thick, and incredibly difficult to break out of with the addition of the drugs they kept him on with an IV to keep him weak.
“I think you’re wrong,” Steve smiled, a bloody grin that had him lifting his head from his chest after taken a moment to gather his thoughts. “I think you’re in trouble.”
Just as he said that alarms went off. His room was flashing red and he could hear the sirens that went all around the compound. His torturer in front of him looked around in a panic before looking at Steve, “Who did you send for?”
“No one. I’ve been here the whole time. I’ve got no way of getting help,” Steve answered casually. “You okay? Ya lookin’ scared.”
The man looked at Steve like he wanted to kill him. Angry, he jabbed the baton into Steve’s neck, causing him to scream out in pain. As he was doing this, more men flooded the room Steve was in. They were intent on keeping their prize here. They couldn’t lose something as valuable as Captain America.
“Where is Y/N Stark?” The man shouted as he continuously held the baton to his neck. “Where is the Soldier?”
Another rumble ripped through the compound, and Steve could hear chunks of walls falling around him and people screaming in pain.
“I think you’re gonna find out,” he rasped with a knowing smirk on his face.
The door to his cell was blown open. It ripped off the hinges and slammed through all the way into the other wall, crushing a man beneath it. You stepped through the opening, looked around the room until your eyes landed on Steve, “You are in so much trouble.”
Steve smiled at you, “Hey, doll.”
You sighed heavily. One of them shouted a command in Chinese. You whipped your head around and saw a baton heading right for your head. You quickly side-stepped it and their incoming attacks. You blocked a few punches, kicked one of them in the gut and smashed his nose with your knee. You performed a drop kick on another before getting back up and blasting the rest with your powers, the wall coming down and crushing all of them.
You exhaled slowly and looked around the room to make sure they were down before you looked to Steve, “Where’s the control?”
“Room next door,” he replied.
Nodding, you blasted a hole through the wall, which coincidentally made someone’s head blow up on the other side of the wall. You stepped through, hit the release button, and ran back into the other room. Steve was leaning against the wall for support while ripping the IV out of his arm.
“Did I say you were in trouble?” You asked him as you approached. “Because I don’t know if I said that you were in trouble. Because, Steve, you’re in trouble.”
You were scolding him. He knew you were upset. But he thought you looked so cute when you were angry, and the way your eyes looked when they glowed with power?
He was smitten.
“To be fair,” he began very quickly, “I was trying to keep you safe.”
“By keeping me in the dark,” you sighed as you helped him leave the room. “My dad does it enough. Why do you think I want you to do that?”
“So you can enjoy your one day of vacation in peace.”
“Does this look like peace to you, Steve?” you retorted.
He shrugged a shoulder, “Does it help if I say you bring me peace?”
“No, idiot.” You rolled your eyes and looked up at Steve who was staring down at you. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like you do when you’re about to watch me use my powers.”
“I’m sorry you amaze me every single chance you get, doll.”
“God, you are so cheesy,” you laughed and looked around. “I’m going to get you out, and then I’m bringing the house down.”
He frowned slightly as he let you lead him out of the basement, “Do you have enough strength for that?”
“Just enough,” you explained as you two started to evacuate. “I’m counting on you to get me to the jet. Those drugs will be out of your system in no time — where the fuck is your shield?”
The two of you stopped walking when you heard footsteps. You both quickly turned around on the staircase and saw one of the Hydra agents running towards you with Steve’s shield. You both tilted your head to the side at the same moment to see this man try to throw his shield.
The shield fell two feet away from him.
The man stared down at the shield, then at the two of you. You quickly ran forward as he started to turn around and run away. You slid across the floor, grabbed the shield, and hurled it at Steve. He caught it, then flung it down the corridor to hit the man right on the back of his head. The shield bounced between the walls and landed back in Steve’s grasp.
“You’re feeling better,” you remarked as you raced back up the steps to meet him.
“And that was a good throw,” Steve winked at you and took the lead. “Come on, stay behind me. You’ve got to keep your strength if you’re going to take it down.”
“How noble of you, Rogers.”
Steve led the charge to get out of the compound. When you two were a safe distance away, Steve kept a watchful eye out while you focused on the compound. The ground beneath the two of you shook for a moment before it shifted towards the compound. Steve watched in awe as the entire facility began to shake and rattle before it all collapsed in an instant in front of his very eyes like a bomb went off.
His awe turned to concern when he saw your arms drop in front of you and your shoulders slump. Before you could fall, he quickly caught you and lifted you up in his arms while you draped an arm around his shoulders.
“Thanks for the save, doll,” He murmured as he leaned down to kiss your forehead, then your lips as he walked to where the quinjet was waiting.
“Always, boy scout,” you mumbled as you leaned into him. “That was more than I expected.”
“You did really well,” he praised you as he spotted the jet in the distance. “You’re getting stronger, you know that, right?”
“Maybe a little.”
He chuckled, “We’ve got to work more on your hand-to-hand. You rely on your powers too much.”
“Clint and Nat have trained me.”
“And you don’t use it,” he admonished you. “You’ll lose it.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you waved him off. He scoffed and pinched your side playful as he entered the jet. He set you down on one of the seats and took the spot behind you as Natasha closed up the platform and prepared for takeoff.
You looked around and spotted Sam. You waited until he was staring at you, then you grinned and gave him the middle finger.
“Oh, fuck off, Stark.” Sam sighed.
“Never doubt the princess, Wilson,” Clint teased. “You good Cap?”
“Better shape than you, thanks to Y/N,” Steve smiled and wrapped an arm around you to pull you into his side. “You okay, Barton?”
“Eh, nothing I haven’t had before,” Clint waved it off as he lay there in the middle of the jet.
“Oh, before I forget,” you cleared your throat. “If any of you ever try to pull some shit like this ever again, I will kick all of you asses. I’m not a baby. Stop treating me as such.”
“Yeah, what she said,” Clint added.
“Fuck off, Clint. You knew.”
“Yeah, but I say we should tell you.”
“It’s true, he did,” Natasha sang from the front.
“Yeah, Cap over here just wanted to keep you safe,” Sam added. “How precious.”
“And how’d that work out for you, Cap?” You looked up at Steve who pretended to mull it over.
“Well, I’ve got you back in my arms, so I can’t say it went all that bad. Can you?”
“Yeah, no. I definitely can. Ruined my food tour I was going to take myself on. Sheesh, acting like it would’ve been my first time getting kidnapped. It won’t be the last, you know,” you sighed dramatically. “Next time, give me a head’s up.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Steve said with a firm nod. “Thank you for rescuing me, honey.”
“All in a day’s work being the coolest, strongest Avenger to ever exist in the history of ever,” you sighed dramatically. “And you’re getting me dinner.”
“Done.”
“No… making me dinner. I want steak.”
“As you wish, doll.”

here lads have an angsty supercorp soulmate story
It starts exactly 24 hours after Kara’s departure.
It’s subtle at first. It actually reminds Lena of the first few days after they met.
The slow but steady build-up of pain manifesting itself into little things; shaky hands, dizzy spells, chest pains. The pills help, of course. She’s already ingested 5 pills in the span of 3 hours and she’s contemplating taking more. Just to keep the pain—threatening to overtake her—at bay. But what good would she be if Alex finds her passed out on the floor? Veins chock-full of narcotics?
So, she wills her hands to stop shaking and pushes on. She sends a text to Jess to send a shipment of pills to her home address; tells her to be discreet.
She can do it. She’s done it before. She can fucking do it again. And she will bring Kara home.
Because every moment that passes with them apart, means a step closer to Lena’s death.
You might think she’s exaggerating, but really she isn’t. See, Kara’s her soul mate, not just in the figure of speech wax-poetic sense but literally Kara’s her soul mate.
But her being a Luthor of course, soul mates wouldn’t come easy. None of it had ever been easy. Why would this one be an exception? It wasn’t unheard of, no, there were a few rare cases of it being recorded. Of course, Lena would be one of those people. Why wouldn’t the universe add shitty soul mate luck into the long list of misfortunes in Lena’s life? What’s one more curse, right?
See, Kara’s her soul mate but...Lena isn’t Kara’s.
“You look like shit, Luthor. You’re allowed to take a break you know?”
It’s Alex who breaks her out of her reverie. She prays to God that Alex doesn't notice her shaking hands. She’s well aware she looks like shit. She feels like shit, she doesn’t need Alex of all people to point that one out. But now, Lena notices that the whole place is empty, she didn’t even notice J’onn slip out. She didn’t even notice Alex coming in too, really.
Brainy had long passed-out in one of the beds in the MedBay in the 2nd level of The Tower, Nia taking up the opposite bed. There was a brief moment when she walked in that made her feel tempted to occupy the third bed and take a break. But then, her chest tightened and a flare of pain lit up her whole insides, it was reason enough to keep her feet moving and back unto the computers trying to pinpoint Kara’s location.
“I know,” she replies, “But it’s really not necessary, Alex. I’ll rest after.”
She doesn’t need rest, what she needs is Kara to be here.
She refuses to look at Alex, fingers flying across the screen. Alex shifts closer to her, lays a hand on her right arm prompting her to stop. Her eyes land on Alex's hand and continue up to Alex’s eyes.
“We’ll find her, Lena. But you have to rest. I’m serious, Luthor. Come on,” Alex persists, wrapping her hand more firmly and tugging at Lena to follow her.
She doesn’t say that rest will do her more harm than good. She doesn’t say that if she closes her eyes all she would see is Kara’s body floating all alone in space and the pain would start anew.
First, her chest and then travelling up the rest of her body until all there is is pain.
She doesn’t say that she needs to work in order to distract her from the pain.
Instead, she holds her tongue, lets Alex bring her to the 2nd level and tries to have the most fitful sleep of her life.
***
It gets worse on the 5th day of the second week. It really isn’t a surprise considering this is the longest she’s had to go without Kara around.
She’s taken mega-doses of painkillers in anticipation for today. Last night was a nightmare, she had to bite down on a hand towel as waves of pain assaulted her, again and again and again.
When morning came, it slowly subsided. Once feeling had returned to her legs she ran into the kitchen and swallowed 3 pills immediately.
It doesn’t matter if she’s taken 3 or 4 or a whole bottle today, because it will just get worse and worse the longer Kara isn’t by her side.
And so, she drags herself into The Tower again, because she needs to finally find a way to bring her back.
She tries to ignore the tightening of her chest even though she’s really having a hard time breathing now. Not to mention the pain behind her eyes that is bit by bit making it difficult for her to coordinate with Brainy’s computations.
She’s taken to keeping a bottle of pills on her person now. Opting to take them dry as if they were mint candies to keep her tongue moving while programming lines of codes.
She thinks she’s still being subtle.
Well, she is.
Until she isn’t.
She crumples to the floor in front of everyone and a guttural scream of pain breaks free from her lips.
***
When she wakes it’s to Alex sitting by her bedside.
She lets out a groan in response to the sore feeling of her entire body. It’s like the time they were forced to do team building exercises all day in Mt. Helena and Lena nearly passed out.
Alex hands her a bottle of water. She sips greedily before handing it back and wiping her mouth.
“Hey? How you feeling?”
“Like I wanna die.”
Alex sighs and Lena intentionally avoids her eyes.
“It’s Kara isn’t it?” Alex says and Lena doesn’t bother with lying anymore.
“It is.”
“How you survived almost two weeks away from her, I wouldn’t know. Two days away from Kelly—” Alex breaks off, inhales deeply and then sighs again, “That’s already torture for me.”
“I’ve had a lot of practice,” She retorts flatly, hands fiddling with the rough edges of the blanket. Alex looks like she wants to say something about that but Lena beats her there.
“How?” She asks, gesturing to the IV drip. How am I not feeling pain right now? How am I still breathing? How am I still alive?
“The DEO created a special fluid for agents,” Alex reveals, “They distribute it to agents on field assignments. That way, them and their partners don’t die from pain. Good thing, J’onn had a stash hidden here, well, we always thought it would be for me and Kelly. Never expected you, Luthor.”
Lena takes that in for a moment. So, the DEO had a special formula of Dextrose to stave off the pain of soulmate separation and apparently she’s using up all the remaining bags of it.
And it’s not even supposed to be for her.
“Don’t worry about it. Brainy can replicate the formula.”
Worry must’ve shown on her face. So, she works on schooling her features again, she knows that Alex is itching to ask her questions but is trying to be polite.
There’s really no use hiding anything now though.
“K-Kara’s my soulmate,” she finally says out loud, and she’s always thought that it’s supposed to feel cathartic and freeing but instead it just feels heavy.
“But I’m not hers,” she quickly finishes, better to rip the band-aid off. She briefly looks at Alex, whose face doesn’t give her anything; mouth a tight line and eyes shining with curiosity.
She doesn’t know if Alex had ever had a conversation with Kara about soul mates before. Had they talked about it? Had Kara ever mentioned Lena acting too clingy whenever they don’t see each other for a short period of time? Had Kara ever told Alex if she would want a soul mate of her own?
But the look and silence from Alex’s side makes Lena refrain from asking.
Instead, she starts to tell her how it had hit her the instant Kara walked in her office. How there was a zing! and her brain had immediately screamed HER. That’s the one. She’s the one.
How when they met eyes and Kara had told her her name it felt like Lena’s soul finally found her home.
“I asked for her name and I kind of thought she’d wait for me to get out of the office,” Lena trails off and Alex takes it for what it is.
Their first meeting was all sparks for Lena but then, the conversation kept going and going and Clark had tried interrogating her and Kara didn’t do anything.
Didn’t approach her afterwards, didn’t show any reaction that might’ve given Lena a clue that she felt the way Lena did.
A conclusion was easily reached.
Kara was hers but she wasn’t Kara’s.
After the initial shock settled in, Lena set to work. Because that was what she did best. Work out a solution to everything and anything that poses a problem.
How many people have dreamed about meeting their soul mate? How many years had Lena sat there hoping that tomorrow maybe, maybe she’ll finally meet them? She never expected this, never expected her soul to find a home that isn’t hers.
Staying away from Kara was a non-starter, it’s only been a day since they parted but Lena can already feel the beginnings of pain. Slow but sharp shots of throbbing from behind her eyes then came the shaky hands then the dizziness and then—
They became friends and Lena made sure Kara didn’t know anything about her growing need to be close to her; didn't let Kara know about the fact that the universe made Lena its most epic punchline yet.
She agreed to scheduled game nights and movie nights and lunch dates. She never knew the pain of soulmate separation during those early days. Kara was always around; bringing her a salad, covering an L-Corp gala, crashing on Lena’s couch.
“It was easy, you know? Kara was always there. What are friends for?” Lena mimics Kara and then repeats somberly, “It was easy, Alex.”
Or at least, Lena kept telling herself it was easy. She had it easy. She didn’t have to think about painkiller pills or cutting her business trips short—because the pain becomes unbearable too soon—like so many of her board members do.
She had it easy with Kara, she can just call and she’ll be there.
Until, Kara started going MIA. And for three days pain overtook her entire life. The pain made her unable to think clearly, the pills kicking in at the last minute.
“You haven't been around. Supergirl's been there for me. Person who judges me on the very premise of my last name, but my best friend hasn't,” she accuses because Goddamnit Kara has no idea what kind of shit Lena had to endure with her going away with no warning.
Logically, Lena knows it’s partly her fault.
She knows that if she only just told Kara that she needs her to live, Kara would stay. But she doesn’t want anything to change.
Of course, Kara would stay, it was the kind of thing a person like her would do.
Kara would take care of her, whatever Lena needed she would give.
But Lena didn’t want things that way.
She wants Kara to want her the same way she wants her.
But no, Lena’s not going to tell her that. She is never going to know. She will find an alternative. So, she injects as much venom as she can into that accusation, “B-but maybe it’s better if I leave.”
She makes Kara leave.
She just got her cure back and immediately Lena had pushed her away. The moment Kara stepped out of the door, a dull throb already kicked in her chest; as if telling Lena she was making a big mistake.
She regretted that night so much, Jess had to drag her drunken body out of her office.
Then it became normal again and Lena went back to not worrying about body pains again.
Because a different kind of pain is trying to make itself known.
A gaping hole in her heart that is entirely unrelated to the biological consequences of being separated from your soul mate.
She was falling in love.
She was falling in love and she wasn’t prepared for how it would hurt to have Kara not love her back. She can endure the physical pain, there are pills for that.
But there wasn’t any type of medication to see your other half everyday and not have them see you as theirs.
When Lex told her Kara’s secret. Something broke inside of her. Which was saying something, considering she was getting her heart broken every single day that Kara wouldn’t look her way.
But to know how stupid she’s been? To realize that the flutter of her heart whenever Supergirl was near was her brain telling her it was Kara?
There was no word for that.
“I think, I kept rejecting the idea of Supergirl being Kara you know?” Lena huffs out, laughs drily, “Imagine how fucking painful it would be, Alex, if Supergirl was my soul mate. This person who didn’t trust me wholly, who lies behind my back, imagine if she was my soul mate? It would have felt humiliating. My body knew better, though,” she admitted sadly.
“When Lex told me, all the little painful outbursts every time Supergirl flew away? It made sense. Everything made sense, but at the same time? Everything hurt too.”
She tried hurting her back. Created Hope. Experimented with Q-waves. Foolishly used Myriad. Teamed up with Lex.
But even through all of those? The separation pain never knocked her out.
Even when they were fighting, Kara was still always around. Even when the world—the fucking multiverse got reset. The pain wasn’t enough to knock her out. Not like today.
Because Kara was always lingering around convincing her not to join Lex, crossing paths in CatCo, flying into her home even if it was to call her a villain.
All of those interactions were still sustenance for Lena.
But this? This separation? This knowledge that Kara was somewhere out there, unreachable. That she could be lightyears away in space and it has been two weeks since Lena had last saw her, it has her every molecule shouting to go find Kara.
“It’s never been like this before,” Lena confesses, “I thought I could do it without-”
“Help?” Alex supplies and Lena finally turns to her and she feels a hand squeeze her.
“Yeah.” She mutters back softly.
“Well, that’s where you’re wrong, Luthor. You’re part of the team now whether you like it or not. We are going to help you, we’re going to find a temporary solution for that pain and then we’ll get back to work and we’ll find Kara.”
