hate this show so much what does the season 3 family tree mean by h g tannhaus adoptive grandfather to charlotte doppler with elisabeth doppler & noah parents of charlotte doppler, AND h g tannhaus father of marek father of charlotte tannhaus. at this point elisabeth being both charlotte's mother and daughter is a nonissue

I think we shouldn't forget that the grace/charles engagement is because and only because grace is manipulating him with her power. There are 0 strategy or love or wathever from charles. Like he could of course make mistakes on his own, but anything he would do related to grace wouldn't be his choice/will/etc. (also please alastair, you should start wondering why charles, gay and ambicious, has decided to break his engagement with ariadne for grace?? there is something wrong here)
First of all, thanks for the ask! I like receiving asks about TSC because I have so much to say. 😄
Yes, that’s for sure. Like I pointed out in my post, both Charles and Grace are acting out of self-preservation because they both want to reach a goal. Charles wants to become Consul but he fears criticism because of his sexuality, while Grace just wants to be as far as she can from Tatiana’s irrational plans - even if she’s participating in them by luring James with the gracelet. It may be that Grace doesn’t know and she’s been brainwashed as well, so what she did to James was like what he did to her: completely orchestrated and fake, an enchantment (of course I’m mainly talking about their “love” for each other). This is not to defend Grace’s behavior with James (or Matthew, for that matter), but it’s a real possibility that Belial manipulated Grace with an object and she isn’t aware of this. And she’s going to make Charles act out of irrationality as well, I hope lol. And Ariadne is better off without Charles. He doesn’t deserve her nor they could have probably loved each other because they both like different people. Which is also Grace and Charles’ situation, but I don’t think they will last together, to be honest. I’ve got the feeling something will happen that will make them break the engagement. Something that either one of them will do that will make it impossible for them to keep their fake engagement on. (The same goes with Jordelia, as much as I like the fact that Jordelia are engaged).
On Charles and Alastair, I wanted to write a post about how unbalanced that relationship was. We don’t exactly know how they met, we just know from CoG2 that Alastair really felt something for Charles. I think Charles might be the first person he could be himself with because they probably bonded because of politics and perhaps Charles discovered something about Alastair’s birth? I think this would explain why he fell for him. I mean, it’s a possibility: as if he thought that Charles was the first person who didn’t lie to him. But I also believe that Charles might have fallen for Alastair because of his “submissive” private personality, for the lack of a better term. We always see Alastair as super dark and brooding, as if he hates everyone, but that’s not the real Alastair. The true Alastair is a sensible person who just wants to be loved, who used bullying as a copying mechanism to protect himself from the harshness of his world. He was, after all, cleaning after his father’s messes and was also looking after his mother and Cordelia, which isn’t an easy task and it eventually takes a toll on a teenager (Matthew also lived a similar situation). Now I don’t know nor I don’t want to imply for sure that Charles sort of used Alastair because of his own inferiority complex - although there is a possibility that he did, in fact, fall for Alastair because of how Alastair viewed him (like, Alastair boosted his ego because he admired him). I think they might have been in love in the past, but after Alastair settled in London, it was clear Charles didn’t feel the same things as he did anymore. And Alastair did the best thing when he decided to walk away from that relationship. It had turned toxic, and Alastair doesn’t need more toxicity in his life. He’s already been poisoning himself for years (by being abrasive and a bully to others, which he realized it clearly hurt him). This is another point in which Matthew and Alastair are the same: they poison themselves. They want to self-destruct.
Ok, I said too much lmao I should write something about this from a critical point of view, I promise. 😁

What was WWE Studios, KISS' Gene Simons and Wesley Snipes thinking producing this mess? Did they read the same screenplay I just watched and say "let's do this"?
OK I get it, Wesley Snipes must've pushed this film because he was to star in it (although not the main character), but what was everyone else smoking?
This is the first (and hopefully last) attempt at writing from Matt Savelloni. This film was total nonsense, with more plot holes, missing plots and confusing dialogue than each of the 93 minutes of run time. And of that 93 minutes, I'd say at least 15 mins where the same series of empty corridor shots with dumb bright beams coming from the windowed walls – totally pointless. Someone got bored tying the screenplay and copy- pasted "freeze camera at empty corridor #6 for 1 minute". And the dialogue – worst I've seen in a long time.
The only decent aspects of this film were Matthew Irving's cinematography, and (being very generous here) actor-turned-director John Stockwell's directing – although if he ever does the multiple fast zoom-in zoom-outs (during the war conflict scene) again, he should just stick to acting.
Oh ya, the acting… terrible. This was Anne Heche's worst acting, as if she dreaded being in any scene. And as for Wesley Snipes, he looked so bored in every scene, even the only fight scene he was in was boring.
Had more effort been put into the concept (hired a professional writer to give the screenplay a huge face-lift – for starters), and had the director cracked the whip a little more, there certainly was room for potential.
Instead, I had to watch a film with trained military walking around solo (not in pairs to watch each others '6') with the same gun and flashlight held up, constantly startled, pointing the flashlight around and entire room over and over, and saying "who's there!?". Or someone laying dead with half their skull missing and his buddy crouched over top of him calling his name (as if asking "are you OK?!") expecting him to answer.
Seriously, OK an amateur wrote this garbage, but who wasted their money to fund and yet approved this garbage?
It's only a generous 2/10 from me only for the decent cinematography and a few good acted and intense scenes here and there.
