HIATUS NOTICE

Hi guys. I’m going on hiatus for the foreseeable future to avoid Ruin spoilers. Ik people try their best but things always slip through the cracks. This is the first time I’ve been this excited for a game in over three years (depression moment), and the last time I was this excited for a game the plot was spoiled so bad I just lost the will to finish it. I really don’t want a repeat of that. My console broke, and I’m in between jobs so idk when I’m going to be able to afford to fix it so I can play the game. I imagine I’ll be gone for a month minimum.

joining the discord server is your safest bet for the fastest updates and you have access to mods 24/7 depending on timezones!

check-ins are by default opted in, but they aren't compulsory bc projects/work can suddenly come up, so just dm a mod saying you'll be skipping them and you'll be okay! not messaging = a strike, and you'll be removed after 2 strikes.

mod applications

There must be a minimum of 2 writer and artist mods. 

Since this is more casual, mods will overall share duties, including design and compiling. 

Mods are free to introduce new rules as and when needed, however, they must inform the other mods in the mods-only channel. 

writer applications

Writers must submit 1-2 pieces of fic between 700-2000 words each. 

no x readers or yume/ oc ships should be featured, though if you're involving yuu in this from a non-romantic angle, that is completely fine!

While the check-ins are optional, please note that by default, you are expected to check-in so that the mods are aware of your work. 

Check-in expectations:

Check-in #1: 200-300 words minimum, no max limit

Check-in #2: 600-800 words minimum, no max limit

I think if you did a full design exercise with what certain people online say they want from computers you'd end up with some kind of modernized luggable, and I can understand why. It is the form of computer that is able to be put away when not in use, but which does not suffer from the limitations of the laptop form factor. A lot of people don't use desktop computers often enough to warrant the space expense, but they do want an all-in-one solution that attends to every possible need without having to consider expansions and add-ons. Something like this.

I don't think that's a good idea but it does seem to be the thing a lot of people think they want. I would contend that laptops plus modern peripherals basically fill this need better, and that the potential benefits just aren't that high.

I cannot relate to people who think mainstream laptops should be chunky affairs with every port. I put this stuff in my shoulderbag. If I want more battery I will carry a charging pack. If I need an ethernet port I will use a USB dongle. My current laptop weighs one point two kilograms and fits in a shoulder bag with room to spare, and my battery pack weighs 800 grams and has 50% more energy than you're legally allowed to take on a plane and the best part is that when I'm not using it I can leave it the fuck at home.

I had an old high end 17" performance laptop for a year in university when my normal laptop battery crapped out and it was utterly miserable to hoof that thing around. It's a very niche class of device and that's when it still does laptop things well.
