HOW TO ACE AN INTERVIEW?
“You get an interview through connections or maybe your resume. You get a job through body language and a few compelling stories.” – Nick Morgan
Interviews are all about how you present yourself along with the knowledge that you possess. It’s about proper alignment of the goals of a company/organization with your personal goals. Hence, it’s important to be self-aware and to know the details of the job description, as well as the company.
Following are some factors that one should be kept in mind before going for an interview:
Know the difference between Resume, Biodata, and CV
A resume is a summary of one's education, skills, and employment when applying for a new job. Suited when experienced people apply for specific positions where certain specific skills are more important than education.
A C.V. lists out every skill, all the jobs and positions held, degrees, professional affiliations the applicant has acquired, and in chronological order. Suited for fresh graduates or people looking for a career change.
In biodata, the focus is on personal particulars like date of birth, gender, religion, race, nationality, residence, and marital status. Suited for government jobs, or research grants.
Do your homework
Company Research is essential before an interview. It shows the company that you care and are interested in the opportunity. It comprises of basic industry knowledge, company history and competitors, vision and mission statement, important products and services offered, company culture, and social websites.
Know yourself
It’s important to be self-aware as you should know your strengths, weaknesses, and potential. You’d always be required to introduce yourself in an interview so make sure that you know exactly what to say and always be ready for explanations on your hobbies and interests.
Dress to impress
First impressions are the last impressions. Make sure you’re smartly dressed. Don’t put on a lot of make-up and don’t wear tacky clothes. Be your confident self, always. Authenticity stands out.
Body Language and posture
Always sit straight and never use the backrest. Make sure that you are leaning forward as that’s an indicator of being interested. Never keep your hands and legs crossed. Do not fidget and always maintain space.
Below are some frequently asked questions along with answers:
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Purpose:
- To assess your core competencies, integrity, authenticity
How to answer:
Strength:
-have a bank of 10 relevant strengths
- Real-life example and application of the strength
Weakness:

- A weakness inconsequential to work
Why should we hire you?
Purpose:
- To check competencies and whether or not you’ve read the job description
How to answer:
- Precise point format
- Do not talk about how good the company is in this question.
-Tell them how you can contribute to the company
Why do you want to join the company?
Purpose:
- To showcase that you have read about the company
- Also, how your values match the company expectations
How to answer:
- Recent Achievements
- Exciting work proposition

- Check your holistic thinking
How to answer:
- Personally, my goals are: (mention 2)
- Professionally my goals are ( 3 points or 2 points you plan to achieve in the organization)
What is your salary expectation?
Purpose:
- A trick question
- To take commitments
How to answer:
- As per the market standards. (Never disclose the amount in the first go, let the interviewer disclose it)
- If the interviewer pursues then give your expectations in a range (20000-25000)
Tell us about your project?
Purpose:
- To understand the project and check your knowledge about the project
How to answer:
You give a two-line description of the work you did in the internship. This part has to be specific
Then you highlight what you learned in the internship followed by how you contributed to the company during the period.
Tell me about your work experience
Purpose:
- To see you as an employee
- To assess your efficiency
- To assess your strengths
How to answer:
- Name of the organization
- Job Role
- Achievements/ Contributions/ Recognitions

Purpose:
- Clarity for choosing the option
- Your thinking logic
How to answer:
- be honest about how the course or job will help you.
- What skillset you possess to make you an ideal candidate
Do you have any questions for us?
Purpose:
-This is a winning question. It is the last question asked and that is when you can make an impact on the interviewer for one last time. The answer depicts your presence of mind and also your confidence. Do not waste it in asking about company policies, timing, salary, joining date, etc.
How to answer:
You can ask the following questions:
It was a good interview. I would like to know who interviewed me. So can I know your names, please?
Can you share your journey in the company?
How has your experience been with the company?
Can you share the best aspect of working in this company according to you?
You always ask something to the panelist about themselves to create a positive rapport.
What are the traits of a good leader/ team player/ good work culture?
Purpose:
- Checking your presence of mind
- Articulation of thoughts
How to answer:
- Answer in point format (3 points or 2 main points are)
- Point-Reason- Example
- State examples for impact
Why do you want to join the company?
Purpose:
- To check whether you have researched about the company
How to answer:
- This is where you showcase the fact that you have read about the company.
- You talk about one good recent achievement of the company and then you speak of 2 values the company has and how it matches your strength.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Purpose:
- Assessing social life and different spectrum of your personality
- Helps determine if a match culturally for the organization
How to answer:
- Do keep it semi-professional, though, saying you like to have a few beers at the local hot spot on Saturday night is fine. Telling them that Monday is usually a rough day for you because you’re always hungover is not.
- Focus on social life
- Focus on hobbies
If you were an animal, which one would you want to be?
Purpose:
- See how you think on your feet
- No right or wrong answer
- Check- the presence of mind
How to answer:
- The animal
-Why the animal
- How strength similar
- Repeat the point
So these were a few ways that can help ace an interview. All the best!

Over 30000 Abacus Trainers are now jobless, the Pandemic effect. Are you one of them?
In the ensuing write-up, which is a conversation that I had almost a year back when my entire team was all engrossed in finding a solution for the revival of all the Abacus Institutes that had been forced to close down owing to the Covid Lock down. The students stopped attending their Abacus classes. This had severely hit our own business as we were hugely dependent on our franchise business spread across 16 countries. My conversation was with three people, one being an Abacus Trainer cum owner of the Abacus Class and the other being the duo of a father and child. The child was a student of Abacus. I being an Abacus promoter was curious to know, ‘What do they have to say about the effect of the Covid pandemic on Abacus?’ Effect of the lock down on the Abacus Classes While the Institute owner expressed of he going through a very bad phase as he had to close down his centre as the students stopped coming due to the lock down. He also said he did try teaching online through the available video conferencing apps, but the results are neither satisfactory nor promising. It was not convenient for teaching. I told him, I couldn’t agree more and that over 20000 Abacus Institutes worldwide had shutters down due to the lock down, and also that this had rendered more than 30000 Abacus Trainers jobless. Effect of the lock down on Abacus Students. When I looked at the father and son duo, I felt they both had a lot to say. While the father said that his son had to discontinue the Abacus Training as the centres were closed. He felt this deprived his child of learning the skill of Abacus math. Meanwhile, the son was waiting impatiently for his turn to get into the conversation. It seems he had a lot to say, which seemed very obvious as he was the end-user, and naturally the most affected. He said when the lock down started his Abacus class got closed. He was sad that he and many other students of that Abacus class now were unable to learn Abacus Math. I told him that it was not only him but over 5 to 6 lacs or approximately half a million students were facing the same situation. They all had to discontinue their Abacus Training. Online Abacus teaching is not effective When I probed further with my question, that why did the teacher not go online and also why the student had not joined an Online Abacus class? Well with this I seemed to have hit Pandora’s box. Both the teacher and the student started to put in their opinion to this. They had so much to say. Let me sum it up one by one. I will get you the Students view first. -He said learning abacus on the mobile was very difficult as he could sometimes not see the finger movements demonstrated by his teacher and also said his teacher also faced the same problem. Because of this, he was making mistakes in moving the beads correctly on the Abacus instrument. He further added the wrong answers always frustrated him. - He was finding it difficult to do Abacus Mental Math practice because of this. He was also unable to improve his speed of calculations because of the lack of mental practice. - The student was also of the opinion that his workbook both for Homework and Class Work could not be checked regularly. - He further said he was not enjoying learning Abacus as he did not know how his other friends were performing. The child summed it all up in one final sentence that the Online Abacus class was not interesting and he did not want to continue. Now it was the turn of the teacher. He said he agreed with all that the student said. He also said that if Abacus had to be taught online then a dedicated platform has to be created both for teaching as well for the student to learn. I went a step further and asked him to be more specific about what are all the facilities that he would like to have in the Online Abacus Teaching Platform so that he could teach smoothly and effectively. I must say the teacher was very clear in his mind, he insisted I would better take note of the points that he was going to raise. To which I agreed and started to jot down his points under this head, Requirements in an Online Abacus Teaching Platform a. A well developed integrated system from where several students could participate in the Abacus Class, he could train all the students for the right finger movements and also be able to monitor and ensure that all students followed the right method. The number of students in the class should not be a hindrance in the teaching process. It should not be dependent on external video conferencing apps. b. An option that would allow problems of different students to be attended at the same time by him and still not disturb the normal classes functioning. c. A system with the facility from where he could give Classwork, Homework and also that he should be able to check and evaluate the work thus done by the students, preferably in real-time. d. Most importantly a specially developed content that could be easy to show, explain and be able to keep the students glued to the screen. He said the if the lessons are created in the form of self-explanatory videos that he as a teacher could add explain further and use as visual support to explain to the students. This he said could be the only way that would bring back the students to the Abacus classes and also will be worth the money the parents will invest. e. He also said that since it would be all online better if we are done away with the workbooks and the child should solve the questions and input the answers on the system itself. This he said would ease the problem of evaluating the work done by the students. f. One more issue he said that need to be addressed was to create a competitive atmosphere in the class was to give awards to the students. He concluded even if it is virtual, it would good enough. g. After a second thought he went on to add that if the experts could develop a digital Abacus, that can be of great help especially if the child gets stuck in solving any sum while doing the homework. h. A system that would allow the teacher to conduct the exams level wise and also allow the teacher to issue Certificates to the students after that. i. He said further that before he forgets, he would also want that the system must also have a complete teachers training system so that he can become an expert in conducting the Online Abacus Classes. i. He also wanted the system to facilitate online registration and collection of fees of the students. Well, well when he was done saying all that he had to say and I was done with my listing, I was very clear why the several companies that claimed to be offering Online Abacus Classes had failed to help the closed down Abacus Institutes to get back their students. This required the experts to develop a huge integrated Abacus Teaching and Learning system in tandem with the Abacus Experts who would have to develop an exclusive online friendly curriculum that could deliver the expected convenience and results. This was asking for a hell of a lot of investment both in terms of time, expertise and finance. Which certainly was not a cup of tea for the small-time companies. The challenges were too many. But of course, what was the solution? As promoters of Abacus Education for over two decades and having our presence in over 16 countries worldwide, we Mastermind Abacus took up the challenge and developed a Hi-tec Abacus Teaching and Learning Platform that promises to meet all the needs as expressed by my friend Abacus teacher and the Abacus student. Yes, we successfully created The World's First Live Online Abacus Teaching Platform. This Online Abacus Learning Platform of Mastermind Abacus meets all the expectations of the Abacus Institutes and the Trainers. It is also extremely easy for the students to access and operate. To make the program easy, high interest and exceptionally engaging for the students, the Abacus lesson here for all levels have been transformed into interesting and innovative video games based on Math calculations. The system allows the Abacus Trainer to conduct exams, evaluate in real-time, issue Certificates, collect fee mange marketing. It has an answer to every aspect related to Teaching Abacus or managing the Abacus institute in the most effective way. Anyone could start his / her own Abacus Training Centre / Institute with No Franchise Fee no overhead expenses and naturally no Business risk, with only a Laptop / PC with broadband internet connection. This is the answer to the present catastrophic situation being faced by my friend Abacus teacher and many more. It will certainly help the several closed down Abacus Centres and the out of job Abacus Trainers to not only get back their previously registered students but also encourage many more students to Enroll themselves. Your opinion and suggestions are most valid for further enhancing the utility of this Online Abacus Learning Platform. Do put in your comments in the comment box.

what is machine learning?
What is machine learning?
Machine learning is the idea that there are generic algorithms that can tell you something interesting about a set of data without you having to write any custom code specific to the problem. Instead of writing code, you feed data to the generic algorithm and it builds its own logic based on the data.
For example, one kind of algorithm is a classification algorithm. It can put data into different groups. The same classification algorithm used to recognize handwritten numbers could also be used to classify emails into spam and not-spam without changing a line of code. It’s the same algorithm but it’s fed different training data so it comes up with different classification logic.
“Machine learning” is an umbrella term covering lots of these kinds of generic algorithms.
Two kinds of Machine Learning Algorithms
You can think of machine learning algorithms as falling into one of two main categories — supervised learning and unsupervised learning. The difference is simple, but really important.
Supervised Learning
Let’s say you are a real estate agent. Your business is growing, so you hire a bunch of new trainee agents to help you out. But there’s a problem — you can glance at a house and have a pretty good idea of what a house is worth, but your trainees don’t have your experience so they don’t know how to price their houses.
To help your trainees (and maybe free yourself up for a vacation), you decide to write a little app that can estimate the value of a house in your area based on it’s size, neighborhood, etc, and what similar houses have sold for.
So you write down every time someone sells a house in your city for 3 months. For each house, you write down a bunch of details — number of bedrooms, size in square feet, neighborhood, etc. But most importantly, you write down the final sale price:
Using that training data, we want to create a program that can estimate how much any other house in your area is worth:
This is called supervised learning. You knew how much each house sold for, so in other words, you knew the answer to the problem and could work backwards from there to figure out the logic.
To build your app, you feed your training data about each house into your machine learning algorithm. The algorithm is trying to figure out what kind of math needs to be done to make the numbers work out.
This kind of like having the answer key to a math test with all the arithmetic symbols erased:
From this, can you figure out what kind of math problems were on the test? You know you are supposed to “do something” with the numbers on the left to get each answer on the right.
In supervised learning, you are letting the computer work out that relationship for you. And once you know what math was required to solve this specific set of problems, you could answer to any other problem of the same type!
Unsupervised Learning
Let’s go back to our original example with the real estate agent. What if you didn’t know the sale price for each house? Even if all you know is the size, location, etc of each house, it turns out you can still do some really cool stuff. This is called unsupervised learning.
This is kind of like someone giving you a list of numbers on a sheet of paper and saying “I don’t really know what these numbers mean but maybe you can figure out if there is a pattern or grouping or something — good luck!”
So what could do with this data? For starters, you could have an algorithm that automatically identified different market segments in your data. Maybe you’d find out that home buyers in the neighborhood near the local college really like small houses with lots of bedrooms, but home buyers in the suburbs prefer 3-bedroom houses with lots of square footage. Knowing about these different kinds of customers could help direct your marketing efforts.
Another cool thing you could do is automatically identify any outlier houses that were way different than everything else. Maybe those outlier houses are giant mansions and you can focus your best sales people on those areas because they have bigger commissions.
Supervised learning is what we’ll focus on for the rest of this post, but that’s not because unsupervised learning is any less useful or interesting. In fact, unsupervised learning is becoming increasingly important as the algorithms get better because it can be used without having to label the data with the correct answer.
Side note: There are lots of other types of machine learning algorithms. But this is a pretty good place to start.
That’s cool, but does being able to estimate the price of a house really count as “learning”?
As a human, your brain can approach most any situation and learn how to deal with that situation without any explicit instructions. If you sell houses for a long time, you will instinctively have a “feel” for the right price for a house, the best way to market that house, the kind of client who would be interested, etc. The goal of Strong AI research is to be able to replicate this ability with computers.
But current machine learning algorithms aren’t that good yet — they only work when focused a very specific, limited problem. Maybe a better definition for “learning” in this case is “figuring out an equation to solve a specific problem based on some example data”.
Unfortunately “Machine Figuring out an equation to solve a specific problem based on some example data” isn’t really a great name. So we ended up with “Machine Learning” instead.
Of course if you are reading this 50 years in the future and we’ve figured out the algorithm for Strong AI, then this whole post will all seem a little quaint. Maybe stop reading and go tell your robot servant to go make you a sandwich, future human.
Let’s write that program!
So, how would you write the program to estimate the value of a house like in our example above? Think about it for a second before you read further.
If you didn’t know anything about machine learning, you’d probably try to write out some basic rules for estimating the price of a house like this:
def estimate_house_sales_price(num_of_bedrooms, sqft, neighborhood): price = 0 # In my area, the average house costs $200 per sqft price_per_sqft = 200 if neighborhood == "hipsterton": # but some areas cost a bit more price_per_sqft = 400 elif neighborhood == "skid row": # and some areas cost less price_per_sqft = 100 # start with a base price estimate based on how big the place is price = price_per_sqft * sqft # now adjust our estimate based on the number of bedrooms if num_of_bedrooms == 0: # Studio apartments are cheap price = price — 20000 else: # places with more bedrooms are usually # more valuable price = price + (num_of_bedrooms * 1000) return price
If you fiddle with this for hours and hours, you might end up with something that sort of works. But your program will never be perfect and it will be hard to maintain as prices change.
Wouldn’t it be better if the computer could just figure out how to implement this function for you? Who cares what exactly the function does as long is it returns the correct number:
def estimate_house_sales_price(num_of_bedrooms, sqft, neighborhood): price = <computer, plz do some math for me> return price
One way to think about this problem is that the price is a delicious stew and the ingredients are the number of bedrooms, the square footage and the neighborhood. If you could just figure out how much each ingredient impacts the final price, maybe there’s an exact ratio of ingredients to stir in to make the final price.
That would reduce your original function (with all those crazy if’s and else’s) down to something really simple like this:
def estimate_house_sales_price(num_of_bedrooms, sqft, neighborhood): price = 0 # a little pinch of this price += num_of_bedrooms * .841231951398213 # and a big pinch of that price += sqft * 1231.1231231 # maybe a handful of this price += neighborhood * 2.3242341421 # and finally, just a little extra salt for good measure price += 201.23432095 return price
Notice the magic numbers in bold — .841231951398213, 1231.1231231, 2.3242341421, and 201.23432095. These are our weights. If we could just figure out the perfect weights to use that work for every house, our function could predict house prices!
A dumb way to figure out the best weights would be something like this:
Step 1:
Start with each weight set to 1.0:
def estimate_house_sales_price(num_of_bedrooms, sqft, neighborhood): price = 0 # a little pinch of this price += num_of_bedrooms * 1.0 # and a big pinch of that price += sqft * 1.0 # maybe a handful of this price += neighborhood * 1.0 # and finally, just a little extra salt for good measure price += 1.0 return price
Step 2:
Run every house you know about through your function and see how far off the function is at guessing the correct price for each house:
For example, if the first house really sold for $250,000, but your function guessed it sold for $178,000, you are off by $72,000 for that single house.
Now add up the squared amount you are off for each house you have in your data set. Let’s say that you had 500 home sales in your data set and the square of how much your function was off for each house was a grand total of $86,123,373. That’s how “wrong” your function currently is.
Now, take that sum total and divide it by 500 to get an average of how far off you are for each house. Call this average error amount the cost of your function.
If you could get this cost to be zero by playing with the weights, your function would be perfect. It would mean that in every case, your function perfectly guessed the price of the house based on the input data. So that’s our goal — get this cost to be as low as possible by trying different weights.
Step 3:
Repeat Step 2 over and over with every single possible combination of weights. Whichever combination of weights makes the cost closest to zero is what you use. When you find the weights that work, you’ve solved the problem!
Mind Blowage Time
That’s pretty simple, right? Well think about what you just did. You took some data, you fed it through three generic, really simple steps, and you ended up with a function that can guess the price of any house in your area. Watch out, Zillow!
But here’s a few more facts that will blow your mind:
Research in many fields (like linguistics/translation) over the last 40 years has shown that these generic learning algorithms that “stir the number stew” (a phrase I just made up) out-perform approaches where real people try to come up with explicit rules themselves. The “dumb” approach of machine learning eventually beats human experts.
The function you ended up with is totally dumb. It doesn’t even know what “square feet” or “bedrooms” are. All it knows is that it needs to stir in some amount of those numbers to get the correct answer.
It’s very likely you’ll have no idea why a particular set of weights will work. So you’ve just written a function that you don’t really understand but that you can prove will work.
Imagine that instead of taking in parameters like “sqft” and “num_of_bedrooms”, your prediction function took in an array of numbers. Let’s say each number represented the brightness of one pixel in an image captured by camera mounted on top of your car. Now let’s say that instead of outputting a prediction called “price”, the function outputted a prediction called “degrees_to_turn_steering_wheel”. You’ve just made a function that can steer your car by itself!
Pretty crazy, right?
What about that whole “try every number” bit in Step 3?
Ok, of course you can’t just try every combination of all possible weights to find the combo that works the best. That would literally take forever since you’d never run out of numbers to try.
To avoid that, mathematicians have figured out lots of clever ways to quickly find good values for those weights without having to try very many. Here’s one way:
First, write a simple equation that represents Step #2 above:
Now let’s re-write exactly the same equation, but using a bunch of machine learning math jargon (that you can ignore for now):
This equation represents how wrong our price estimating function is for the weights we currently have set.
If we graph this cost equation for all possible values of our weights for number_of_bedrooms and sqft, we’d get a graph that might look something like this:
In this graph, the lowest point in blue is where our cost is the lowest — thus our function is the least wrong. The highest points are where we are most wrong. So if we can find the weights that get us to the lowest point on this graph, we’ll have our answer!
So we just need to adjust our weights so we are “walking down hill” on this graph towards the lowest point. If we keep making small adjustments to our weights that are always moving towards the lowest point, we’ll eventually get there without having to try too many different weights.
If you remember anything from Calculus, you might remember that if you take the derivative of a function, it tells you the slope of the function’s tangent at any point. In other words, it tells us which way is downhill for any given point on our graph. We can use that knowledge to walk downhill.
So if we calculate a partial derivative of our cost function with respect to each of our weights, then we can subtract that value from each weight. That will walk us one step closer to the bottom of the hill. Keep doing that and eventually we’ll reach the bottom of the hill and have the best possible values for our weights. (If that didn’t make sense, don’t worry and keep reading).
That’s a high level summary of one way to find the best weights for your function called batch gradient descent. Don’t be afraid to dig deeper if you are interested on learning the details.
When you use a machine learning library to solve a real problem, all of this will be done for you. But it’s still useful to have a good idea of what is happening.
What else did you conveniently skip over?
The three-step algorithm I described is called multivariate linear regression. You are estimating the equation for a line that fits through all of your house data points. Then you are using that equation to guess the sales price of houses you’ve never seen before based where that house would appear on your line. It’s a really powerful idea and you can solve “real” problems with it.
But while the approach I showed you might work in simple cases, it won’t work in all cases. One reason is because house prices aren’t always simple enough to follow a continuous line.
But luckily there are lots of ways to handle that. There are plenty of other machine learning algorithms that can handle non-linear data (like neural networks or SVMs with kernels). There are also ways to use linear regression more cleverly that allow for more complicated lines to be fit. In all cases, the same basic idea of needing to find the best weights still applies.
Also, I ignored the idea of overfitting. It’s easy to come up with a set of weights that always works perfectly for predicting the prices of the houses in your original data set but never actually works for any new houses that weren’t in your original data set. But there are ways to deal with this (like regularization and using a cross-validation data set). Learning how to deal with this issue is a key part of learning how to apply machine learning successfully.
In other words, while the basic concept is pretty simple, it takes some skill and experience to apply machine learning and get useful results. But it’s a skill that any developer can learn!
Is machine learning magic?
Once you start seeing how easily machine learning techniques can be applied to problems that seem really hard (like handwriting recognition), you start to get the feeling that you could use machine learning to solve any problem and get an answer as long as you have enough data. Just feed in the data and watch the computer magically figure out the equation that fits the data!
But it’s important to remember that machine learning only works if the problem is actually solvable with the data that you have.
For example, if you build a model that predicts home prices based on the type of potted plants in each house, it’s never going to work. There just isn’t any kind of relationship between the potted plants in each house and the home’s sale price. So no matter how hard it tries, the computer can never deduce a relationship between the two.
So remember, if a human expert couldn’t use the data to solve the problem manually, a computer probably won’t be able to either. Instead, focus on problems where a human could solve the problem, but where it would be great if a computer could solve it much more quickly.
How to learn more about Machine Learning
In my mind, the biggest problem with machine learning right now is that it mostly lives in the world of academia and commercial research groups. There isn’t a lot of easy to understand material out there for people who would like to get a broad understanding without actually becoming experts. But it’s getting a little better every day.
If you want to try out what you’ve learned in this article, I made a course that walks you through every step of this article, including writing all the code. Give it a try!
If you want to go deeper, Andrew Ng’s free Machine Learning class on Coursera is pretty amazing as a next step. I highly recommend it. It should be accessible to anyone who has a Comp. Sci. degree and who remembers a very minimal amount of math.
Also, you can play around with tons of machine learning algorithms by downloading and installing SciKit-Learn. It’s a python framework that has “black box” versions of all the standard algorithms.
If you have any questions please let me know in the comments

The applications where centralized Servers would be obsolete and data will be controlled by the entity whom it belongs, i.e., the User.
From Web 1.0 to Web 2.0
As we all know, Web 1.0 was static web, and the majority of the information was static and flat. The major shift happened when user-generated content becomes mainstream. Projects such as WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others are nominated as Web 2.0 sites where we produce and consume verity of contents such as Video, Audio, Images, etc.
The problem, however, was not the content; it was the architecture. The Centralized nature of Web opens up tons of security threats, data gathering of malicious purpose, privacy intrusion and cost as well.
The invention of Bitcoin and successful use of decentralized, peer to peer, secure network opens up the opportunity to take a step back and redesign the way our web works. The blockchain is becoming the backbone of the new Web, i.e., Web 3.0.
History of blockchain
The invention of blockchain came to the mainstream after the boom of the Bitcoin in 2018. Have a look at the graph below; Bitcoin was at its peak around $20000.
But the technologies that power the blockchain network is not something new. These concepts were researched and developed during the ’90s. Have a look at this timeline.
The concepts, such as proof of work, peer to peer network, public key cryptography and consensus algorithms for distributed computing which powers the blockchain have been researched and developed by various universities and computer scientists during the ’90s.
These algorithms and concepts are mature and battle-tested by various organizations. Satoshi Nakamoto combined these technologies and ideas together and built a decentralized, immutable, peer to peer database primarily used for financial purposes.
Initially, we all thought that blockchain is suitable only for cryptocurrencies and not for other applications. This thought was challenged when Vitalik buterin developed the Etherum cryptocurrency with a new Smart contract feature.
Smart contracts changed everything. The ability to code your own application and run on top of blockchain was the answer to critics who thought that blockchain is only for currencies.
“Cryptocurrency is a small subset of the blockchain, like the Email of the internet.”
The smart contracts open up the wave of new applications. The viral game cryptokitties showcases blockchain can handle large end applications such as games.
Smart contracts are written in Solidity language and can be executed on Etherum network. The protocol and design of Etherum inspired the engineers to build an open source and blockchain agnostic platform to build decentralized applications.
DApps protocols
As I have mentioned earlier, Etherum smart contracts were among the first such technology that can be used to program the decentralized applications. The issue was that smart contracts were written by keeping transactions or money in mind.
Developers need multiple tools to build a full-fledged web application such as storage (database, files, index, etc.), message queues or event queues to facilitate the communication. Etherum address these problems by introducing Etherum Swarm and Etherum Whisper projects.
As you can see in the diagram above, With Etherum Smart contracts for writing contracts and swarm to store files that can be associated with contracts. To make the decentralized apps communicate with each other, Whisper can be used. All of these can run inside the decentralized browser such as Dbrowser.
Swarm is a distributed storage platform for an ethereum stack. The core objective of Swarm is to provide decentralized storage for ethereum public records. Swarm is supposed to save the DApps code base and data associated with it.
Swarm allows public participants to pool their storage and bandwidth resources to make the network robust and get paid in Etherum incentives. Fair deal.
Ethereum whisper, in a nutshell, is a protocol for DApps running on Etherum blockchain to communicate with each other, similar to message queues or event queues. Whisper provides low-level API’s to support communication between DApps. You can learn more about it here.
However, do you sense the limitations here? Well, the main issue is that this is entirely Etherum agnostic, i.e., all apps are written and run on top of Etherum blockchain. This change will increase the size of the chain significantly, and scalability will be an issue.
Other than scalability, adaptability will be an issue as well. We need a smooth shift from the centralized web to decentralized web. A shift where masses do not need to change everything for the sake of the decentralized web.
This is where our new protocol comes in, called the IPFS (Interplanetary file system) stack by Protocols labs.
Protocols labs is dedicated to building the decentralized web which runs in parallel to TCP/IP stack. This will make the shift from existing web to web 3.0 very smooth, and masses do not need to make a significant change to use the web 3.0.
Here is the stack.
Rings a bell? This stack looks pretty similar to TCP/IP protocol layers. Let’s learn about this in detail.
The IPFS stack is divided into three essential layers:
Networking layer.
Data definition and naming layer.
Data layer.
Let’s learn about each of them in detail.
Networking Layer
One of the core challenges in the decentralized web is the peer to peer network and designing the protocols which work in a peer to peer network in parallel to the centralized system.
The Libp2p project addresses this challenge with protocols labs. Libp2p provides the modular stack which one can use to build peer to peer network in conjunction with existing protocols such as WebRTC or any new transport layer protocols. Hence, Libp2p is transported agnostics.
Features of libp2p:
Libp2p is a modular networking stack. You can use all of it or use part of the stack to build your application.
Libp2p provides transport and peer to peer protocols to build large, robust and scalable network application.
Libp2p is transport protocol agnostics. It can work with TCP, UDP, WebRTC, WebSockets, and UDP.
Libp2p offers a number of modules such as transport interface, discovery, distributed hash lookup, peer discovery, and routing.
Libp2p offers built-in encryption to prevent eavesdropping.
Libp2p offers built-in roaming features so that your service can switch networks without any intervention and loss of packets.
Libp2p is the solution upon which the networking layer of peer to peer can be built.
Data definition and naming layer
Content addressing through hashes is widely used in a distributed system. We use hash-based content addressing in Git, cryptocurrencies, etc. The same is also used in peer to peer networking.
IPLD provides a unified namespace for all hash-based protocals. Using IPLD, data can be traversed across various protocols to explore and view the data spread across peer to peer network.
IPNS is a system to create a mutable address to the contents stored on IPFS. The reason why they are mutable because the addresses of the content change every time the content changes.
Data Layer
The topmost layer in this stack is the data layer. Interplanetary file system or IPFS is the peer to peer hypermedia protocol. IPFS provides a way to store and retrieve the data across peer to peer network.
IPFS uses IPNS and Libp2p to create, name and distribute content across peer to peer network.
Anyone can become an IPFS peer and start looking for the content using hashes. IPFS peer does not need to store every data; they only need to store data created by them or the one they have searched in the past.
Features of IPFS:
IPFS provides peer to peer hypermedia protocols for web 3.0.
IPFS can work with existing protocols and browsers. This gives a smooth transition from centralized web to web 3.0.
IPFS uses Libp2p to support peer to peer networking.
IPFS data is cryptographically secure.
IPFS can save tons of bandwidth in streaming services. For in-depth details, read this white paper.
IPFS is under development, and there are some fantastic applications built by developers that are running on top of the IPFS. One of the applications of my choice is d.tube. This is a decentralized version of YouTube with built-in incentive and reward feature provided by Steem blockchain.
IPFS also trying to solve the incentive issue. We can’t expect every person connected to the internet to act as a peer. In order to provide an incentive to those who participate and contribute value to the network, IPFS has created a coin called Filecoin which can be paid to peers in the network by the user.
Conclusion
Decentralized web or Web 3.0 is the future. There is a need to design a robust, secure and peer to peer network to tackle the issue in existing web. Etherum and IPFS are leading the path to develop the development suite for developers like us to start developing core applications that are needed to make a smooth transition from the existing web to decentralized web.

Raspberry Pi Flask Tutorial: Receiving HTTP GET Request from ESP32
Introduction
In this esp32 tutorial we will check how to setup a very simple Flask server on the Raspberry Pi and send HTTP GET requests to it from an ESP32 running the Arduino core.
Although the code we need to develop for both devices is pretty simple, we are already creating a fairly complex system. Also, this tutorial is built on top of some previous ones which I recommend you to read before proceeding.
All the code needed to send HTTP GET requests from an ESP32 running the Arduino core is explained in detail in this previous post.
For a guide on how to setup a Flask server on the Raspberry Pi, please check here. The tutorial also explains how to install Flask.
Also note that, in order for the Flask server to be reachable by the ESP32 client, both devices need to be connected to the same network and we need to expose the Flask server to that network, as explained here.
The Python version used on this tutorial was 3.5.3 and it was tested on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B+, running version 4.9 of Raspbian, installed using NOOBS. Additionally, a DFRobot’s ESP32 module integrated in a ESP32 development board was used.
The Python code
We will start our code by importing the Flask class from the flask module.
from flask import Flask
Then, we need to create an object of this previously imported class, which will be used to configure our HTTP server.
app = Flask(__name__)
Now, we simply need to declare a route where the server will be listening to incoming HTTP requests. We will call our route “/hello” and its handling function will simply consist on returning a “Hello World” message to the client.
Remember from the previous posts that Flask is built on top of the concept of routes, which we use to specify the endpoints available on our server, for the clients to contact.
@app.route('/hello') def hello(): return "hello from the Raspberry Pi!"
To finalize, we will call the run method on our Flask object, so the server starts listening to incoming HTTP requests.
As first argument, we will pass the IP where the server should be listening. Since we want to expose the server to the local network, in order for the ESP32 to be able to reach it, then we need to use the ‘0.0.0.0’ IP, which basically means that the server should be listening on all the available IPs.
As second argument, we will pass to the run method the port where the server will be listening. This is another information that the client needs to know in order to reach the server.
app.run(host='0.0.0.0', port= 8090)
The final Python code can be seen below. As can be seen, it is really easy to setup a server with Flask.
from flask import Flask app = Flask(__name__) @app.route('/hello') def hello(): return "hello from the Raspberry Pi!" app.run(host='0.0.0.0', port= 8090)
The Arduino code
We start our Arduino code by importing all the libraries needed. First, we need the WiFi.h library to be able to connect the device to a WiFi network, and then we need the HTTPClient library, so we can make the GET requests.
Since we will connect the ESP32 to a network, we need to declare the network credentials, for later using them in the connection procedure.
#include <WiFi.h> #include <HTTPClient.h> const char* ssid = "yourNetworkName"; const char* password = "yourNetworkPassword;
Moving on to the Arduino setup, we will use this function to open a serial connection and to connect the ESP32 to the WiFi network.
void setup() { Serial.begin(115200); WiFi.begin(ssid, password); while (WiFi.status() != WL_CONNECTED) { delay(1000); Serial.println("Connecting to WiFi.."); } Serial.println("Connected to the WiFi network"); }
The HTTP GET Requests will be periodically done in the Arduino loop function. To get started, we need an object of class HTTPClient. This will have all the methods we need to reach the server.
HTTPClient http;
Now, we need to initialize the request by calling the begin method on this previously created object. As input, the begin method receives the address of destination of the request.
For this, we will need to know both the IP and the port of the server. The port is 8090, as we have previously configured on the Python code.
Regarding the IP, we need to get the IP address of the Raspberry Pi on the local network. This is very easy to get by simply typing the ifconfig on a command line, on the Raspberry Pi. For a detailed explanation on how to do it, please check here.
So, after getting the IP of your Raspberry Pi, you simply need to use it in the line of code below and substitute the 192.168.1.92 (the IP address of my Raspberry) by yours. Note that the rest corresponds to the port and to the route we defined in the Flask code.
http.begin("http://192.168.1.92:8090/hello");
To send the actual request, we simply need to call the GET method on our HTTPClient object.
Note that, as output, this method will return the HTTP response code from the server, in case the request was successful sent, or a number lesser than zero in case an internal error occurred on the ESP32. We should store it for error checking.
int httpCode = http.GET();
So, in case of success, we will now want to access the response payload. To do it, we simply call the getString method on our HTTPClient object, which should return a string with the response. We will print its value, and also the HTTP response code.
String payload = http.getString(); Serial.println(httpCode); Serial.println(payload);
To finalize, we should call the end method on our HTTPClient object, to free the resources.
http.end();
The final ESP32 Arduino code can be seen below. Note that it contains some additional error checking to make sure we are still connected to the WiFi network before trying to perform the request, and also verifies the output code of the GET method, to check if some internal error occurred or everything was successful in the ESP32 side.
#include <WiFi.h> #include <HTTPClient.h> const char* ssid = "yourNetworkName"; const char* password = "yourNetworkPassword; void setup() { Serial.begin(115200); WiFi.begin(ssid, password); while (WiFi.status() != WL_CONNECTED) { delay(1000); Serial.println("Connecting to WiFi.."); } Serial.println("Connected to the WiFi network"); } void loop() { if ((WiFi.status() == WL_CONNECTED)) { HTTPClient http; http.begin("http://192.168.1.92:8090/hello"); int httpCode = http.GET(); if (httpCode > 0) { String payload = http.getString(); Serial.println(httpCode); Serial.println(payload); } else { Serial.println("Error on HTTP request"); } http.end(); } delay(20000); }
Testing the code
To test the whole system, start by running the Flask server on the Raspberry Pi, using the environment of your choice. I will be using the IDLE IDE.
To make debugging easier, my recommendation is to first test if the server is responding by making a request using a web browser. To do it, simply open a web browser of your choice and send and type the address below in the address bar, changing the IP there by the IP you got for your Raspberry Pi.
http://192.168.1.92:8090/hello
Upon clicking enter, your browser should send a HTTP GET request to that endpoint, which allows to test if it is responding properly, as shown in figure 1. This way, if we get any problems, we know that we need to solve them in the Flask server, whereas if we tested the whole system right away, we wouldn’t be sure where the problem would be.
Testing each component of a system properly before testing the whole end-to-end system is of extreme importance to make debugging easier.
Figure 1 – Sending a request to the Flask server using a web browser.
Moving on, we need to compile and upload the ESP32 code, using the Arduino IDE. When the procedure finishes, simply open the IDE serial monitor.
When the connection to the WiFi network is established, the ESP32 should start sending the HTTP requests periodically and printing the results, as illustrated in figure 2. Note that we are obtaining exactly the same message we defined in the Flask code and a HTTP code of 200, which indicates success.
Figure 2 – Sending the requests and receiving the answers with the ESP32.
Note that if at this point something fails, we now know that the problem is most likely on the ESP32 side, since we already tested the Flask server with success using a web browser. Of course that we cannot exclude an integration problem between the two systems, but the most reasonable approach would be re-checking the ESP32 code first.
Just to finish, you can go back to the Python environment and check that Flask is indeed receiving the requests, as shown in figure 3.
Figure 3 – Flask server receiving the requests from the ESP32.

How’s it going Friends? I am back with today’s ‘Travel-Finance’ amalgamated blog post. Come September, we will slowly be rising from the gloom of the rainy season, to embrace the excitement of the festive season. August sees Onam spread 10 days of cheer. September will be the time for “Aala Re Aala Ganesha Aala”. October will see the 9 days of Navratri with Diwali taking over November. The year would be done with Christmas and New Year.
Travel Personal Loan
All this, not just pumps us for the exciting times ahead, but also sets in motion the plans to go on a travel holiday with family or friends. In today’s post, we will look at how you can manage your finances when travelling. No cash to book a swanky hotel or book flight tickets? No problem! We will also tell you which the best personal loan website is to apply for a travel personal loan.
Online Personal Loan in India
The emphasis on banks and offline lending services would be to focus on building a seamless and digital application process. Everyone is already using smartphone and nobody has the time to visit the bank to wait in long queues. Faster credit underwriting is one more area which needs improvement by offline lending services. Time and research has to be spent to understand what millennials are looking for. There has to be a well-structured strategy, keeping in mind competencies. Two areas where digital lending platforms trump over traditional banking credit application process are:
Flexibility – Architecture and systems for online lending are flexible to customization. Real time requirements such as addition of external APIs can be added on the go.
Design – The design is focused on the end user. Understanding borrower profiles, their demographics, social media presence, etc. are taken into consideration, providing a more filtered and enriched applicant profile.
Eliminating paper and cutting time delays should be the priority for offline lending services. The friction that is caused due to unending paperwork and approval time has to be addressed. Digital analytics is needed to better understand borrower needs and that too in real time. Alerts, notifications and intimations need to be sent out in real time as and when the loan application is submitted, approved and amount disbursed.
Online Personal Loan Benefits
A personal loan is an unsecured loan that solves your quick fund requirements. As it is an unsecured loan, it does not require any collateral. For salaried individuals, being able to arrange for funds within a short span of time, is not possible via traditional banking solutions. These solutions take up to weeks to disburse funds. For a personal loan, the borrower’s creditworthiness determines if he/she can pay the loan EMIs regularly, and that too, without straining his/her daily living.
No collateral – Having no collateral gives a personal loan an advantage over a secured loan. Even if you do not own any assets, you can at least get funds from Loan Singh.
Multiple purposes – An online personal loan can be availed for a number of purposes – such as paying for online shopping, buying consumer durables, celebrating festivals, buying used vehicles, buying the latest gadgets, traveling for a holiday, home improvement, job relocation, medical emergencies, home renovation, marriage or wedding, etc.
Best Online Personal Loan Website?
If banks are slow to provide quick personal loan digitally, then which is the best online personal loan website to trust? Despite India’s digital lending sector still being in growth phase, one Fintech player has managed to tread farther than others in the segment.
The name of this Fintech is Seynse Technologies. Seynse Technologies are not just developers of Loan Singh – a digital lending platform which lets salaried individuals apply and avail quick online personal loan, but also is a proud partner in launch of the Airtel Online Store.
Loan Singh Review
Loan Singh presents a number of advantages over other online platforms. Some of these advantages are
Minimal documentation
Fixed monthly EMIs
No hidden fees
Easy online loan application process
Transparent process
Managing Finances When Travelling
When travelling, either overseas or within India, it is important to stay calm and remain stress-free with regards to our finances. Managing your finances on an overseas trip shouldn’t be much of a problem given the advancement in digital payments and transactions. Making transactions are now safer and swifter.
While travelling, ensure that you are carrying hidden pouches and portable wallets which can easily be concealed. These hidden pouches can come in handy in case your primary stash of cash get stolen. Making heavy use of debit cards abroad can lead to added exchange rates and withdrawal fees to deal with.
Alerts on Your Smartphone
It is so much easier to keep track of the total funds carried for the trip and the total expense that is needed to spend out of that. Most banks or financial institutions have developed their own smartphone apps. This makes it easier for transfer of funds, making cheque deposits (via picture), checking balances and much more. With the whole bank branch at your fingertips, you are pretty much set for the holidays.
You can also keep track of your mutual fund investments or involve yourself in day-to-day trading while still having fun. The alerts and notifications can keep you updated on transactions that you make and also in case there is some sort of fraud initiated.
Track Your Daily Spending
This can also be accomplished by your smartphone. Tracking your spending is an integral part of managing your finances, while travelling abroad. Note how much is being spent of miscellaneous expenses, travel, food and accommodation. Manual take down of notes is great but its best you download a Memo app. Some apps let you create trips and set the budget as per the amount you have applied for via personal loan.
Notify Your Bank/Loan Singh
It is always recommended that you notify the different bank branches you hold an account into. Also, notify Loan Singh about your travel. In case, you are in the process of paying your EMIs every month, there shouldn’t be any missed payments due to shortage of cash in your account. Banks usually include a ‘travel notice’ to your account, so that in case of any fraudulent activities, the bank can be alerted and block your card.

I was wondering whether it's possible to purchase and use car insurance from a foreign company in the UK and if it is possible whether you could have a policy on an English car or whether i'd have to purchase an import. Thanks in advance.""

Why are people demonizing the insurance companies?
I'm not on the government dole, I'm not a municipal, state or federal employee. I don't get my insurance through an employer, I purchase my own. As small business owners in NYS my family of five pays over $20000/year for health insurance. NYS is already an expensive state to live in and with all of these state mandates on the few insurance carriers we have, my premiums have DOUBLED over the past seven years. If anything, Obamacare will make many self insurers like me drop their insurance and pay a fine. Then we'll wait until we get sick to purchase insurance because we can't be denied due to pre-existing conditions. Anyone who doesn't believe Obamacare was designed to put private insurance companies out of business has got their head up their ***. So again I ask, why are people demonizing the insurance companies?!?""

My insurance company doesnt want to pay!!?
I was struck by an uninsured driver on 02-10-11. Because the driver who struck me was uninsured I was forced to file a claim with my insurance company(Omni Insurance). The car was towed to CJ's collision at 6128 n beechwood Philadelphia, pa ,19138 on 02-11-11. Phone number 215-848-2836. On 02-14-11 Omni insurance sent out an appraiser to evaluate the vehicle. They then faxed an estimate on 02-15-11 totaling $5300 to CJ's collision shop. I went to the collision shop on 02-15-11 to sign paperwork giving them permission to work on my car. They then began the repairs. On 02-18-11 the insurance company then deemed my car a total loss. The vehicle is a 2005 Nissan Altima SL with 96,477 miles. The NADA value for the vehicle is 10,995. According to Omni insurance a car is deemed a total loss when the repairs reach 70% of the value of the vehicle. Omni insurance valued my car at 7,415. They then proposed a settlement offer of 5826.40. They deducted 975.00 in prior damages(which I disagree with) and 1000.00 my deductible. The settlement offer included 386.40 in sales tax. After negotiating on 02-28-11 they proposed an offer of 7835.30. The value they gave my car was 9255. Again 975.00 was deducted and my 1000.00 deductible. They including sales tax and tags/registration fee in the offer. I accepted the offer out of desperation because they also stopped paying for the rental car I was driving on 02-28-11. I work, attend school and have a child my schedule requires that I have a car so I paid out of pocket for a rental car until 03-07-11, expecting the payment to be issued to my lien holder by then so I could purchase another car. I contacted them on 03-07-11 inquiring about my payment and was informed they did not pick the vehicle up from the collision shop therefore they were not issuing a payment. The collision shop gave them a bill of 1750.00 for the repairs they did and the storage fees. The insurance company disagrees with this and refuses to pick the vehicle up and issue my payment. They have also stated this may come out of my settlement offer. The insurance company already has the title to the car and all the necessary paperwork to the vehicle but refuses to issue a payment. It has been a month since I filed my claim and I can no longer afford to pay for a rental especially since it seems I will have to purchase a new vehicle. The insurance company is low balling me and also forcing me to pay for repairs they approved then backed out of.""

Car insurance for family car?
My mum is learning to drive and my dad got her a small Vauxhall Corsa and the idea was to insure me on the car so I have access to it should I need it. The quote just come in at 1300 ish and well for a car I may or may not be driving that much I am not going to pay it. On my own if I owned the same car I have found insurance of around 700 which is more acceptable. The problem is I don't own the car and my dad is insured on it and my mum is insured on it as a learner, but could I then insure myself on that same car separately? Naturally I'd have to tell them who owns the car but other than that? The main problem is I'm 21, have not driven in three years since passing my test (due to insurance funnily enough) and a student, which is a potent mix for insurance companies ripping you off as much as possible.""

Can your auto insurance company raise your rate without notifying you?
hello, I just started a auto insurance policy with Infinity insurance. the agreed monthly payment was $403 and that is what my first bill was. this month I noticed that they billed my checking account $563. I was in a car accident recently. there was not really any damage to either vehicle, I rear ended someone. the police report was filed and the police told me that the person I rear ended wants to claim that she has had injury to her back (which is ridiculous because we were only going 5 mph). There is no way I could have really hurt her, plus she was walking around fine when the report was being filed. What can she get from me and how much can she get? Best insurance company to work for?
I live in Southern California, I have been looking for work since I moved here from France. I posted a general sales resume on careerbuilder.com and have since been spammed by insurance agencies. Some have been good companies like State Farm and Farmers. Some have been less, like Colonial Life and Axa advisers. I believe Axa wanted me for a commissioned investment broker position. I didn't pass the personality test for State Farm, but I can try again in a year. I will have a strategy and research next time. State Farm has 9 month paid training, a huge signing bonus at the end and would be an excellent opportunity but it isn't for right now. What I did learn through all of this, especially from Colonial Life is that the insurance licenses aren't that hard or expensive to get. I'm thinking of getting life, health and auto. Does any one know of companies that have non-independent, salaried agents? I would like a commission, but not the 100% commission based model of Colonial or Axa. I also don't want to cold-call or drop off 180 envelops a week like Colonial demands. I don't want to be independent for the moment, although that is possible in the future with a good company like Farmers or State Farm. Right now I could work as a salaried sales person through an independent agent or direct hire. What is the best way to get on-board?""

How much will my insurance and maintenance costs be affected by what type of car I get?
I'm about to be 18 and am planning on getting my first car soon. I've been driving for almost 3 years in my parents' cars but need my own for heading off to college and such. I don't know what type of car I want to get, but it's gotta be cheap, old and used, preferably up to $6,000-7,500 at the absolute max. The problem is that I've been really into cars for most of my life and would rather have something a little nicer to start, I mean within the same price range but for example a Mustang, Mitsubishi 3000GT, BMW 3- or 5-Series, etc., rather than the usual Civic or Camry (not that I'd mind one of them either). The problem is that I'm worried the insurance will be way more expensive. The latest quote my dad got was a few weeks ago and it was quite a bit lower than I expected, only like $560/yr., but that was with their old '93 Taurus GL. Will having a sports car or more high-end car affect it really dramatically or will it not make that big a difference as long as my driving record stays good? Also, how much more does it cost to maintain and repair a car like a used BMW than it does just a normal car like an Accord? I've always heard that European cars in particular can be temperamental and finicky if not maintained properly, so I'm just worried that I won't have the money and know-how to have and keep a car like that as my first car.""

What do I do? *Before my college plan expired, I was going to doctors. I am diagnosed with POTS, and I was having sleep studies where I was being treated for day time sleepiness. Never got an official diagnosis, but I probably have Idiopathic Hypersomina. Both of these require occasional tests and I will need to see doctors regularly until I have a treatment plan. Is Using React Native Worthwhile ?
A Problem Of Past
" I want to launch my application across all platform on web and mobile . I have heard that reactive native would be the best choice for me ! Is it so ?
A user can be categorised into two parts . The first one being who would love to browse website through through favourite computer , the other one being who would like to use both website and mobile application simultaneously .
The world's largest social platform Facebook reported around 74 % of the traffic coming from mobile application . This indeed forces any business owner to focus on both the platform , ie web and mobile app in order to attract largest audience as possible .
But situation really gets worse when you have to laugh across all the platform as mobile itself is divided into two or more competitive subtitles , namely Android and iOS , and they all are budget constraint also which really becomes difficult when you are budget constraint .
Problem : The programming language used in iOS application , Android application and website are completely different from one another . This simply implied that once you are done with the website coding , the same can not be used for any of the mobile platform and so on . You have to code specifically for that platform in order to launch your application over their . This also implies that the cost of developing with also measured on high scale depending on the number of platform you want to launch your application on .
The average price of the medium sized application comes around somewhere around $20000 and about $ 50,000 for an website.
"Learn Once , Write Anywhere "
React - An open source framework developed by Facebook in 2013 allows developer to create web user interface using javascript , which is based on reusable visual component , capable of handing the data which changes over time without reloading the page .
React Native - brother of React is also developed by Facebook , its Father , almost 2 years back to extend its power to mobile world . It helps to manipulate iOS and Android native elements to one single React Native object , exposing a unified API .
React native build a bridge between web and mobile platform as react native and react are build on same language , thus making the collaboration possible for both business login and backend integration .
The advantage of using this platform is you have to just learn once , and you can write it anywhere . All you need to know is JavaScript and React set of tools , to implement anything you want on any of the platform .
The Ideal Web Developer Playground
As Seen By Native Mobile App Developer
React native facilitates using modern tool and feature from web to iOS and android develop .This facilitates deploying code on all platforms with maximum code reuse and thereby saving cost and time . It also has a feature named as hot reload by which you can instantly see the changes without reload of the mobile app or recompiling the whole project just to see one minor change .
But isn't challenging that a developer who have spend over years learning the native mobile app development , now moves on to react native , which means learning everything in it right from the scratch . Using react native means building everything right from the scratch with complex process that does not involve use of Xcode or Android studio , nor it has been recommended by official guideline .
One of the biggest disadvantages of using react native is when you got trucked somewhere , internet will not going to help you out to solve a bizarre bug - which may be the obvious case in the first few few of its learning process . This becomes burdensome , which might not be the case in case of using native tools .
As Seen By Web Developer
React native uses javascript as main programming languages and thereby makes native iOS and android accessible to web developer .
It also relies on css for designing purposes and XML for UI elements , web developer can take the advantage of it in very less time , without even learning the new language .
Its also release the power of web developer to work on native app for the first time , it offer the things which web developer may have not experience yet on the browser like touch element , using of android and iOS UI element and more .
Competitors
We can say React native competitors are PhoneGap or Cordova . But they are no where stands in respect to React native platform , as they both produced web based view application , and not like the javascript code which is used for building native application using react native . React native also facilitates smoother animation , auto page refresh without actually refreshing the page , better performance and more .
As Phonegap has lots of shortcoming , that is the reason many of the mobile app has been migrated from Hybrid to React Native . At Winklix , we have been always approached by client for converting their hybrid app into native one . But we have not heard or receive any enquiry for converting any high end react native app to hybrid app .
React native allows debugging approach on chrome or safari browser to troubleshoot layout and allows inspecting element .
Unlike Flutter ( Read what is Flutter here) , react native uses javascript languages. Flutter is based in dart languages which developer would first have to be familiar with before going under the development process , and hence react native is much better language to be proven with .
But Flutter recommended IDE is Android studio , thus making the use of extensive tool set in android studio . But Flutter has less styling defined , thus making it harder to implement animation . Much younger than react native , Flutter still has a long way to go in . Flutter is still in beta version and may take around an year to release a stable version for the same .
Is React Native A Tenable Option
At Winklix , we have a specialised team for each Android and iOS mobile app development , but choice between choosing React native or going on with native application only is a long lasting discussion for over years .
In conclusion to the all elements listed above , the choice of choosing the best should be discussed on project to project basis , wherein we can consider number of elements before coming to any conclusion .
One of the strongest to choose platform is clients desire to use a consolidated technology . For most of the project we develop at Winklix , our team would prefer to go on as of now with native development due to our expert knowledge in the same , which might impact when we use React Native in early stages of the projects . But when we are in consideration of larger project for all the platform - it may probably makes sense at that time .

Email Marketing Secret 1 - How to Get Your Subscribers to Open Your Emails and Take Immediate Action "How I got 20,000 visitors in 7 days using just RSS feeds"
Hello there. Before you go ahead with reading this write-up, ask yourself “Why am I reading this article? Why did I click it open in the first place? Something compelled you; didn’t it? Guess what it is -The Headline. Yeah that’s why you are reading this article. This seemingly simple step is one of the three you can use in grossly commanding your clients to open and read immediately. You know why? Because it offers the promise of a solution to their problems.
That brings us to key number 1 in email marketing techniques: Make your subject lines as compelling as possible. Not much of a secret, eh? But you would be amazed to know that not many internet marketers are using this seemingly simple method. This factor alone can increase your subscriber-reading rate by over 70%. The rule is the same. If you want to catch people’s attention then pen something that will instantly grab their attention by using terrific psychological triggers.
If you’ve been around a while, you are aware that not all emails get read. I mean it is hard enough getting the thing through Spam filters to your subscribers’ inbox. Even then, it might not get read. Yet there is a simple technique that you could use each and every time to conjure up wonderful attention-grabbing headlines. That’s the reason you are still reading this article. I got your attention long enough to compel you to click through. No hypnotic stuff here, just plain common sense.
Now, how do you get to write such attention-grabbing subject lines? See the end from the beginning. When I started with this article, the goal I had in mind was to teach how you could get your subscribers to click through your headlines. So, I had to ask myself “What do I want my reader to do?” “What do I want them to achieve?” Simple, eh? Yeah.
At the beginning of this article, you got the impression that there was something you needed to know. You realised you wanted to learn this and that’s the reason you are still reading this article. At the beginning, there was a hint of getting results with our email marketing campaigns -specifically getting almost everyone on your list to click through and read your emails. That is simply what marketing and ad writing is all about. For example, let’s say you are selling shoes and you want your subscribers to buy the new foot cream or sweat-inhibiting foot powder in your stock. Sending them an email with the subject line: “Buy New Sweat Inhibiting Powder” will not get as many results as “How Do You Stop Your Feet from Smelling?” Now you see that is a unique question everyone who wears shoes is asking. So you are attending to their innate needs by asking that question. Because it is a problem they need solved, you are bound to get higher clickthroughs and ultimately make more sales.
Another result-getting technique you can use is personalization. Instead of just including “Dear friend” or “Dear Subscriber”, you might want to personalize your emails. Most autoresponders now have the facility to do that. All you have to do is automate it to send emails with subject lines starting with the subscribers’ firstname. For example, you could send an email with the title “[FIRSTNAME], here’s how I build my list…” Personalizing your email is important as it promotes some form of cordiality. It enhances trust on the part of the subscriber and more importantly, singles your email out almost immediately making it stand out in the crowd.
Get your subscribers attention by piquing their curiosity. The ability to do this sets you apart from your competition. Marketers who have mastered this skill have always made money and gotten higher clickthroughs than their competition. A subject line like “How I got 20,000 visitors in 7 days using just RSS feeds” will definitely grab your audience’s attention and trigger a psychological response making them think they could achieve the same if it is real and doable. The next thing they think after seeing that is “Really? Is that possible? Let me find out” and click. Your email opens before them.
In the next issue we’ll look at another very important aspect of generating higher subscriber results and clickthroughs. In the meantime, watch out for “Email Marketing Secret 1. How to Get Your Subscribers to Open Your Emails and Take Immediate Action.

New Post has been published on https://warmdevs.com/moving-towards-web3-0-using-blockchain-as-core-tech.html
Moving Towards web3.0 Using Blockchain as Core Tech
The invention of Bitcoin and blockchain technology sets the foundations for the next generations of web applications. The applications which will run on peer to peer network model with existing networking and routing protocols.
