heyyy! I just wanna say your art is gorgeous and I’m obsessed with it. What app do you use…? How do you get such soft brush stroke and smooth rendering? I’m working on smth right now and I just needed some tips because I’m not thar good at digital art 😭 Keep up the great work!
(sorry so so sorry for late rp mi got wintered) uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh *melts*
i did posted abt brushes here and here (w working link! i checked it!) im drawing in Photoshop cs 6 cause im old and duwwana update it im used to it i guess (color wheel is useless to mi cause i dont know theory or anything) for smooth lines its usually smudge tool(finger? i think it calls) its set at 70-80% on a simple round brush. I use it on edges and colour blending so like when u smudge foundation w bronzer. sometimes i just draws with it(its good tool its my friend) the whole thing is that i dont do much of a lineart aside from hands and details and it goes like this i draw line with simple non texture brush and then i erase it till i like what i see and i drop colour like immediately cause i have no patience and i have to see the idea of pic in order to run w it hopefully it was informative (lol no) but hey pls feel free to poke mi more abt draw staff i want how it goes to u <3

i love your postcard artwork for the zolu playlist SO much!! the colours are so so good and i love the brushwork! i think my favourites are a tie between the one for chikai and the one for simple song <3 also, I was wondering if you could share what brushes you used + how long they took you! looking at your art makes me want to draw again after not doing it for so long
Thank you!! and wow i think this is the first time someone's asked me for my brushes, this is like a digital artist rite of passage!
Answers n screenshots n stuff under cut (I went a little to ham on this oops)
While we're talking settings I want to give a quick PSA to all digital artists:
CHECK UR ASPECT RATIO!!!: (MOST IMPORTANT SETTING BY FAR)
Tumblr media
DO NOT DRAW WITH THIS ALL MESSED UP, IT WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY. It's probably good to check this after every system update (I don't, but, you know...). Windows likes to mess w your shit when it updates.
If you have a really tiny tablet you might need to trace outside a bottle lid or something.
Okay now on to the meat of the post
-- Brush Stuff --
I use Clip Studio Paint. For my playlist drawings I think I only used these brushes (these are my main 3 in general) (p.s. they're all default brushes! but i've adjusted the settings):
Tumblr media
1) Gouache This is most of what i used for the postcards. I nuked Color Stretch because i hate it (it blends colors together as you're painting, like painting over wet paint. I prefer things to look more crisp)
2) Real G-Pen Used this as little as possible, to keep the painterly effect. My preferred fine-detail pen, has a nice crunch to it. I've fine-tuned my setting further in the thickness dynamics / brush size dynamics settings because I mostly use this brush for linework and wanted it to handle really, really naturally and precisely
Tumblr media
The random box is checked by default, probably to make this brush feel more like handling a real inkdip pen (I don't like that)
3) Mapping Pen Least used. I generally keep this brush at the 50-70px range. It's unpleasant to use for detail work (the taper is really fiddly at my tablet pressure settings) but good at filling in large areas very opaque very quickly, with a crisp edge (Also, doesn't lag as much as the gouache brush at large-ish sizes). Has enough wiggle room that it can be used to approximately fill tighter spaces at large brush sizes. Used for when I needed to quickly color over an area that wasn't working or quickly fill in background color that didn't need paintbrush texture. Did not realized the stabilization was set to 10 until just now. I usually turn that waaay down to prevent lag (my laptop isn't very old but it's a sensitive beast)
Other stuff that'll help:
General pen pressure: (under File -> Pen Pressure Settings)
Tumblr media
tweaking how CSPaint handled my pen pressure helped a lot with making lineart look more natural. It's worth messing around with this and trying out different settings for a while to see how they feel.
-- How Long it Takes 2 Draw --
I don't really keep track of how long art takes me from start to finish, and making the playlist drawings was kinda nonlinear 😅 sorry!
-> I started out sketching really quick composition and color ideas as the songs were playing, limiting myself to just the duration of each song (so like, 5 minutes for this part) -> i did that again at least 2 more times per song -> after that, idk. I would work on one pic then get stuck and move to another. Some I could hammer out in like... 5 hours? Some took me upwards of 20 (30?) hours for no real reason (I have "will graham clock" days, where I'll try to draw a face over and over and it'll look really strange, like will graham's clock drawing every time) (this seems to be either a vitamin deficiency or a brainfog inflammation type thing 4 me 😵‍)
I'll use ur two favorites as specific examples: -> Chikai was one that went pretty quickly (with the exception of their arms and the clothing folds there giving me trouble). Probably took 4-6 hours? -> Simple Song had a couple different versions, partially because I initially had the cards all laid out landscape-style, and I decided I actually wanted them all portrait-style & repainted it after it was already done. That aside, the colors /atmosphere on that one gave me trouble and the general composition / perspective had a lot of tweaks (I was trying to figure out if I wanted it to be a kinda flat stylistic perspective or if I wanted it to make more literal sense, trying to figure out what to do with luffy, trying to make him not look Too baby boy sweetie pie). Probably took 7-10 hours...?
In-progress landscape versions: (varying levels of in-progress)
Tumblr media
Misc in-progress of Chikai and Simple Song:
Tumblr media
Simple song looks kinda sequential like this lmao. Luffy looks like he's A-posing and floating away to the boat and then sitting down pleasantly in it. Wonderful. --
Anway -- hope any of that was helpful!

your art is so good what the hEck!! i was wondering what you use to draw?
hi dear! sorry for the late reply and thank you so much as well!!! THAT’S REALLY KIND OF YOU TO SAY AHH♡♡
as i’m a mixed media artist i use a really wide range of materials so i decided to make this foolproof guide! let’s jump right in shall we!
Ink
Tumblr media
sakura pigma microns (mainly sizes 005, 01, 05 & 1)
pentel pocket brush pen
pentel colour brush
my favourite red daiso brush pen!
sakura pen touch (white/gold)
pilot hi-techpoint (black)
Pencils
Tumblr media
my personal favourite is muji’s 0.3 low center gravity pencil!
mainly any 0.5 led pencil (right now i use a standard staedler pencil & muji’s clear rubber grip)
i use an array of brands from derwent, curry’s & fabercastell (i usually use 2B, 4B, 6B and anywhere from 3H-6H)
for sketching/anatomy drawing, i’ll use prismacolor col erase pencils! (typically in red)
Pencil Crayons
Tumblr media
it may be a surprise but i just use any old crayolas! i’ve tried out lots of other brands including prismacolors (which do have beautiful pigmentation!) but to be honest i prefer crayola in terms of blendability. so for my signature blue sketches, i always use a plain old blue crayola pencil crayon haha
Markers
Tumblr media
copic sketch markers
stabilo fineline markers
i also really enjoy using highlighters! i use any typical highlighters including sharpie ones as well as ones from daiso!
occasionally i’ll use paint markers from miniso but they’re often a mixed bag. when you buy them in store you really need to test them out to make sure the pigments will come out properly or else they’ll just excrete watery ink :/ if you do find ones that work, you’re good to go!!
Paint
Tumblr media
watercolour: sakura koi pocket field sketch box
gouache: reeves
as for brushes my go to brush is always pentel’s aquash brush. time to time i’ll use a variety of brushes you can get from michael’s and some brands include artist’s loft & vienna.
Tumblr media
Pens
Tumblr media
gelly roll
uniball signo (white/gold)
Erasers
Tumblr media
my favourites are these long thin ones from daiso! i also use muji erasers and ones from mono.
Digital
Tumblr media
i don’t do as much digital as i’d like to but when i do, the program i use is clip studio paint! occasionally i’ll use ps cs5 for any minor edits. as for devices, i draw with a surface pro 5! if i don’t have access to it since i share it, i’ll use a wacom bamboo create tablet. (IT’S A SUPER OLD TABLET THAT I GOT IN 6TH GRADE LOL i mainly just use it for osu! nowadays ngl)
and yeah! that’s basically it! thanks for coming to my ted talk :’)

(obviously i don't own that pic. Chanyeol might, or Acqua di Parma -bless them- or W Korea, who knows, not me.)
word count: 775
pov: gender neutral reader
just almost 800 words of me being madly in love with Chanyeol. Have fun with this dreamy piece of nothing but cheesy fluff ♡ (originally uploaded: oct 20, 2019; updated on nov 5, 2021)
-
The quiet sound of rain softly falling against the glass of the window was the first thing you noticed when you woke up. It has always given you a very special feeling, one you weren't sure you could name, but that let you know that in moments like this planet earth revolved around the sun a little slower than usual, that the concept of time was irrelevant for a little while.
Lazily, you opened your eyes, eyelids fluttering in attempts to get used to the dull light, taking in the room in the dimmed brightness of the morning sun. Taking him in, who breathed out air in little huffs next to you, still fast asleep, barely covered with his blanket anymore. Or by the knitted cardigan he had fallen asleep in. He must have moved around in his sleep a lot to be entangled in the sheets like this, vivid dreams dancing beneath his eyelids. Maybe he would tell you about them once he was awake.
But now, his features looked relaxed, strands of messy hair fell into his face, lips slightly parted looking so soft and warm that wanting to kiss him was an inevitable urge you had to push down for a little longer not to wake him already. So, you just laid next to him, making out every of his details for the thousandth time. The moles on his nose and jaw, the slight dryness of his lips, how his eye lids twitched a little, caught between the realms of dreams and wakefulness – you couldn’t take your gaze off of him no matter how often you had seen this scene already.
Automatically, you froze for a second when he shuffled around in the sheets, re-arranging his sleeping position to something more comfortable, flat on his belly, his arm resting beneath his head. A heavy breath left his slightly pouting lips before he stilled again, his back softly rising and falling as oxygen entered his body, a movement so light and small and still, it was mesmerizing.
In the end, you could not tell how many minutes had passed while you were simply watching him in his sleep. It could had been days and you would never have noticed. The only thing you knew, was how desperately lost you were in the way he breathed the same air as you did, in how you took up space so close to each other, how easy it was to just pause the world when it came to share moments with him, how gently his golden skin contrasted the snow white of the blankets and sheets as he was more or less huddled in them.
The deep longing to touch him, to let your fingers glide over his warm and smooth skin, swept over you again, slowly taking over your thoughts until you gently reached out for him. First the short hair near his neck, fine hair against your fingertips, moving down the warm, delicate skin of his neck, down to pet the softness of his wide shoulders, drawing circles upon each of his shoulder blades and arms, bumping over the faint definition of his muscles, subtly hidden in his relaxation, making your mind wander to the uncountable times these arms hugged you tight, wrapping you in warm safety and love, in the feeling that with him you would never be alone.
Sloppy lines marked the way your hand moved down his spine, gently brushing the skin of his back, letting his warmth enter your body through your cold fingers, mapping out all the spots that gave in to the lightest touch and the sturdy lines of his ribcage, following them along to caress his sides-
You felt his muscles tensing beneath your touch, his body slowly shifting around; a clear sign he would wake up any minute. With a content smile on your lips, your fingers wandered up again, stroking the long wisps of hair out of his face, letting the digits of your hand rest in the soft mess on his head, watching as he slowly opened his eyes, heavy and swollen with sleep, silently blinking at you with a still tired look but a peaceful warmth within the darkness of his irises. It took him a moment to clear his mind from sleepiness before he smiled back at you, unmatched brightness shining from the happy features spreading over his face.
Time just didn’t matter this morning as you laid there, glancing at each other, your fingers in his hair and his hand softly brushing your cheek. The only sounds to hear were the rain, our breaths, and your quiet whisper “Good morning, Chanyeol.”

yukhei pet store au
hi!! i wrote this as a birthday present for @yukheart and decided to share it on here! anyways enjoy :)
so every day one time u have a rough day right
it's like 2 pm in the afternoon and ur in ur car and ur crying and a spotify ad is playing and u are Not having a good time (this is highly specific but bear with me)
so you sorta like,, stop by like a pet store bc u love??? animals??? so of course they'll cheer u up
at least u hope they will
and so u walk in and it kinda smells like wet dog but ur kinda living for it
and its like, a Big store, and ur just tryna find the dogs right
it's like an Ikea like at some point you sorta drift around
until you bump into this dude who looks like he's having the time of his life
and u take one look at him and ur like,, oh boy,, that's a cute boy,, very tall boy,, hansom boy,,,,nice looking,, dude ohohh,,, boy
he takes one look at u and he's like
“hey buddy u good??”
and u sorta just,, grimace
and u ask him where the dogs are and he immediately is like oop b i got u” and grabs ur wrist
he's got like…. really big hands?? and long fingers and ur sorta just in a daze bc a cute boy??? taking you?????? to see dogs???????? is this a dream?????
and he's going with a Quickness too and ur tryna keep up but he's too fast (somebody get his beautiful long bodied ass to the olympics bc ya boy got S p e e d)
anyways after y'all take like 5 sharp corners and 3 slides into aisles you finally get to the dog adoption area
and its a cute little pen with like dogs running everywhere being herded by some of the workers
and y'all finally stop to fuckin b r e a t h e thank goodness
and you look at him and u finally realize how much of a fuckin adonis ya boy really is
like he tall,, but his body his fully proportioned
he got shoulders that span as wide as the grand canyon,, and they're big and muscular and bursting from his pastel pink uniform polo
and the polo stretches across his back u can can literally s e e his back muscles move when he does its wild
and his ears are so cute what the fuck
he got like,,, really long fingers bruh… they still wrapped around ur wrist and ur like,,,,,,,, sweating hella
and his legs!!!!! go on!!!!! for fuckin miles!!!!!! and they t h i c k too and honestly ur getting tired of his beautiful self
don't even get me started on his smile djsbzjxjxjz it's so pretty
wow it's getting pretty warm in here anYwAys
you look out and all u can see,, are dogs
big dogs, little dogs, fluffy ones, smooth ones, and you're so like,,, really Happy about it
and you look back up at this dude who's looking back at you with the sweetest grin you've ever seen and ur heart is really warm
also u finally read his nametag lmao and u learn that his name is yukhei!! ur like,,, wow what a beautiful name,, for a beautiful dude,,,,,,,,,,
and while ur thinking all this mushy shit homeboy deadass just yeets himself over this pen’s fence
and ur like,, lmao what the fuck
and you watch as he opens the fence and the minute ur in the dogs sense ur presence and its over for you then and there
bc a bunch of dogs start running in ur general direction
but in particular, this one husky makes a beeline for yukhei and this other corgi makes a beeline for u bc its curious
and the corgi is the most adorable thing after and its trying it's best to keep up with the husky but the husky has no fuckin time to wait for a n y o n e only for yukhei big mood
and so the husky basically jumps into yukhei’s arms and yukhei??? doesn't??? topple over????? fuck kinda s t r e n g t h??
and the corgi finally makes it to u and ur like “:(( i lov u” and ur both having the time of ur lives
and yukhei starts walking you around introducing you to the dogs and the husky stays by his side the entire time sjdbsjadmfjdkj
u learn the husky’s name is gregory, which is weird, and the corgi’s name is lil taki,, which is also weird
and yukhei is all like “this German Shepard here is named teacup and this terrier here is named saint louis, and this one here is-” like he knows,,, all the names
and all his coworkers are like “yukhei?? and some person who looks like they've been through too much today?? looking at dogs as they follow them all around?? seems legit”
and like, yukhei is magical with these dogs like some random dog will paw at his leg and he'll be like “ah yes chester needs his daily brushing give me like,, 2 seconds-”
he really loves these dogs okay sjdhfjskdkgj
and you?? are having such a good time
lil taki is adorable and if ur apartment allowed dogs you'd definitely try and get him
you lose track of time and like,, realize that it's 7 pm sjdhdjss u spent 5 very well spent hours looking at dogs with a really fuckin hot cute guy and u can't say you regret it
and the whole time he was gushing about these dogs and being cute and everything
so when you have to leave his face drops for a moment before asking hopefully with a soft pink blush “hey u gonna come back??”
and ur like “fuckin,, definitely dude”
and so start to come back every other saturday for like,, two hours
and ur friends are like “??? why ???” and ur like “ :^)))))) ”
and then at some point you just start coming every week
and you and yukhei bond over a lot of stuff
he gets ur digits and sends u pics of the dogs when he can
he also updates u on lil taki daily
he opens up to you about why he likes animals so much and u learn that he’s studying to be a vet
and every time he uncovers something and about himself to you he gets all weird and blushy and ur like :( cutie pie with big fucking hands and long ass fuckin fingers    f  u  c  k
like he tells you about that one time his friend jungwoo slipped on ice then pulled his ass down tryna get back up and they ended up falling down a hill rip
or that time he got acrylic nails on a dare and honestly?? he both hated it and loved it (bc when he was roasting mark and he was moving his hands this way and that?? they were killing it) but he took it off after a day only bc he couldn’t type on his phone all that well jshdjsjdmv
like at some point you just start leaving together when his shift ends (which is at like 8 pm) too like y'all are Besties at this point
and all his coworkers are like “;^) !!” and ur like “???”
and sometimes he takes u out to eat like 5 things of large fries together at mcdonald's and y'all have a good time
he's always smiling at you :((
he feeds you fries sometimes and he's a l w a y s blushing and smiling and ur like ,, pls stop
sometimes y'all walk in the park and/or get ice cream
and at some point y'all get to platonic (lmao not really) hand holding
and he's like fuck it imma flirt
but u think?? it's it's a joke??????????
and they're all like lame pick up lines bc he's lame but really cute okay and ur like “akekekeke” and he's like “haha i'm serious :)”
like every time he sees u he's like “are you a volcano???? bc i lava you :DDD”
or like “do you smoke pot?? bc weed be cute together!!!!! :DDDDD”
like stupid lame pick up lines but they still make ur heart skip a beat
and he always complains to jungwoo,, a fellow coworker on his break bc he's like “they don't like me :’(”
and jungwoo's like “bitch,,,,, just tell them straight up and also leave me alone bc pretzel the parakeet is on my ass for feeding him some new shit and he's not having it okay i'm tryna figure this out dude”
and lucas is like “:( ”
and jungwoo sighs and is like “just confess to them like,, idk ,, a normal person? get them flowers??? chocolate?? anything they likes????????”
and lucas is like “ :D ”
and so after A Lot of brainstorming he figures something out
and he's like “hey buddy,,, :) let's go to mcdonald's” and ur like “lit okay”
and so after y'all get there he orders like 10 large fries and ur like “?? what the occasion” and he just grins and ur blinded lmao bc Wow
and so you sit down at a table and he stands to receive ur order
and then he hands u this letter and he's kinda shy about it
and ur still like ????
but you take it
and basically the entire thing is him waxing poetry about how much he likes u and ur like “haha w h a t”
like he starts it with “are you a camera?? bc every time i look at u all i do is smile” and ur like :’( my heart
he mixes a bunch of pick up lines into it
and he ends it with “roses are red, my face is too, and that only happens when i’m around you” and ur like :’’’’’’)
and while you read this letter ya boy sitting across from you stuffing his face with fries bc he's so nervous
when u finish the letter u realize that he's already eaten like three boxes and u cackle
and his face falls bc he thinks ur laughing at his letter (as if you ever would)
but then u lean over and kiss his cheek and he's like !!!! :’D !!!!
and basically y'all hold hands and are a mushy couple eating fries in a mcdonald's and smiling all cute and shit like wow my heart
and he walks u home!! and give u a kiss on the forehead :(( it's so soft
or instead of the mcdonald's scene
when his shift ends, he's like “i got a surprise for u buddy :)” and ur like that ominous but go off ig
but then u see lil taki running towards u and ur face lights up like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and you pick him up bc even tho u saw him like 20 minutes ago ur still like “my child”
but he's got?? something tied to his collar??
and you find that it's a letter
and you sorta let lil taki go, who rund to yukhei
and u read it
and yukhei is a nervous mess and lil taki is pawing at him like “pet me b”
and when u finish reading it u smile really big and ur like “i like you too!!”
and he's like “oh thank god”
and u go to hug him and he kisses u on the cheek and u like :’( babe
and he hugs u and its sweet
and then lil taki starts barking bc he's like “pay!!! attention!!! to!!! me!!!!!!” and y'all pet him for a while before putting him to sleep
and he walks you home!! and he holds ur hand with his big ass hands and ur both just so,,, so soft   :’)
and when jungwoo finds out he's like “!!!! uwu !!!! good job yukhei u finally got ur shit together” and then proceeds to expose lucas for all the times he'd talk about you to everyone else lmao
okay i'm done sjdbdjabxn

How to Network at a Conference: 101 Tips From Marketing’s Best
Editor’s note: You may have missed an earlier version of this article when CMI published it last year. We’ve updated it this year for your fall conference season.
Conferences are not for the faint of heart. Whether you’re an introvert or extrovert … getting the most out of any conference is a challenge. It’s one thing to go home with a stack of notes and takeaways; it’s another beast entirely to leave with fresh relationships and meaningful connections.
Yes, the magic of conferences is in the people.
What’s a marketer to do when people are exactly what leave your head spinning: “Who should I talk to? What should I say? Where should I go? How should I follow up?”
To answer those questions, I went to the source: you and your cohorts.
That’s right. I asked one question to as many people as I could at Content Marketing World 2016 and in advance of CMWorld 2017: “What’s your single best networking tip at a conference?” For a behind-the-scenes look at how this all came together, check out How to Attend a Conference and Take It Over (Even If You’re Not a Speaker).
What follows are 101 responses from keynoters, speakers, staff, and (above all) you, conference attendees. However, before we jump into the tips and infographic, let’s look at the big picture.
5 eternal networking truths
1. Everybody’s afraid.
You are not alone in your fear, your trepidation, or your anxiety. No matter how much you feel like an outsider, we’re all in the same big, uncomfortable, sweaty boat. This applies as much to seasoned professionals as it does to first-time attendees.
Breathe deep, jump in, and don’t feel bad if you need some time to yourself – I know I always do.
2. Everybody’s human.
Whether the person you’re walking up to is another attendee, a breakout speaker, or even a headliner, at the end of the day, they’re flesh and blood just like you. Our shared humanity reinforces the first eternal truth.
Compliments, curiosity, and smiles go a long way.
3. Everybody’s nice.
OK, so maybe that’s not universally true, but it’s true of the people who are worth meeting. The goal of a conference is to learn, grow, and connect. If you’re a part of that process, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.
Anyone who doesn’t greet you in kind, that’s on them … the jerks. Brush it off and get back out there.
4. Everybody’s valuable.
The truth is, you never know to whom you’re speaking. While there’s something to be said for making a list of speakers and attendees you want to prioritize, the best connections are often spontaneous. This point shows up over and over in the tips.
Ask questions, be interested – not “interesting” – and treat the person in front of you like they’re the only one in the room.
5. Everybody’s social.
Social media is ubiquitous, especially at conferences. Most events don’t just use hashtags, but they host Facebook and LinkedIn groups as well as official apps. Get sharing. Take selfies. Tag your new friends. Post your favorite quotes and lessons.
Get sharing. Take selfies. Tag new friends. Post fav quotes & lessons, says @iconicontent. #conference #tip Click To Tweet
This social media activity helps during the conference and creates a digital record for you.
On that note, we’ve formatted each tip in a tweetable length, along with the author’s Twitter handle and shareable images throughout. This way, you can post your favorites easily – or even load up all 101 of them – to get a massive jump-start on your networking. Enjoy.

On that note, we’ve formatted each tip in a tweetable length, along with the author’s Twitter handle and shareable images throughout. This way, you can post your favorites easily – or even load up all 101 of them – to get a massive jump-start on your networking. Enjoy.
