Are artists making one piece for their writer or multiple? Will both be releasing their stuff at the same time?
Artists are allowed to make however many pieces for their writer as they’d like! If that’s only one then that’s great! but if it’s more than that, that’s also great! Both writer and artist should talk about posting dates and when y’all would like to post your pieces. Given that most written pieces will have more than one chapter, it’s up to the arist and writer to decide what date they want to post the art piece.
I hope this makes sense! If you have any more questions you can message me on my personal account @rumoredtoexist

I’m so sorry, I don’t have an AO3 account and have to wait for an invite before I can make one. Is it a requirement to signing up for fix writing? I see that AO3 formatting is a must, but is having an AO3 active by April 5th a must?
You’re more than welcome to join before you have an ao3 account set up! So long as you have an active ao3 account by the time of your posting date (which we’ll be some odd six months from now) you’ll be perfectly fine!

How do we get paired with betas and do we have to ask for one or will they get matched at a scheduled time like the artists?
Betas will be available throughout the event; if you feel like you’re at a point where you want a beta to start editing you fic, you can ping them in our discord server and anyone with the assigned beta role can pick up your fic to beta. If you’ve gotten to the third check in and you haven’t had anyone beta your fic yet, then we’ll assign you a beta. Beta forms will also be open throughout the event.

how specific do the prompts need to be? and will the artist get the chance to read the work they are drawing for or will this happen before the writing gets posted
Generally, the prompts need to be a vague summary of what you plan on writing. However, it doesn't have to be one cohesive thought if you don't have a summary of what you want to write. (i.e, you could write for your prompt: vampire au, jax/ragatha, rivals to lovers, etc) As for the artists, writers, and artists will have six months to work together to collaborate and create their fan content. All writer and artist pairings will be sent the other's respective contact (discord) information so that you'll be able to talk and brainstorm throughout the event.
TL;DR
Yes, your artist will have the chance to read your work, as long as you give them the chance before the work is due.

Hiiiii <3, so I joined this recently but I don't really know how these things typically work... for writing, are we paired up with someone or on our own? How much do we have to write? Like are we doing longfics or a bunch of smaller ones? And does it have to follow any certain prompts or themes? I've also joined as an artist so I guess similar questions for that.
Hi!! So, A Big Bang is a way for artists and writers to collaborate on fics and art to generate new fan content for a fandom. The idea is to create long fics for the fandom over a six month period with accompanying artwork. Writers will write their own prompts, and artists will choose which prompts they want to work with. From there, we will pair up writers and artists and send out pairing assignments on the selected dates. If you haven't joined our discord server, be sure to do so. It is mandatory to be a part of the event, as that's where I send out all announcements. If you need a link, I can send it to you via dm's. :)

Sign-ups are now open!
Writer Sign Ups
Artist Sign Ups
Beta Sign Ups
If there's a problem with the forms or if you have a problem with the discord link, you can dm us here or on our personal blogs @rumoredtoexist @squiishiichaos
The Discord server is mandatory. It's where all announcements will be sent out, and I will not be posting many of them on this page. If you do not have Discord, I recommend downloading it.

Important announcement ‼️
we’ve decided to open signups five days early due to the overwhelming amount of people who have showed interest thus far. I will post the sign up forms tomorrow morning and the rest of the schedule will stay the same. Remember, there is a Mandatory discord server that you have to join, so keep that in mind when signing up.

Is all the dates American times?
So all dates and times that I have set right now are set in Central Standard Time, however, I’ll do my best accommodate for people outside of that time zone by sending reminders a few days before important due dates.

How old do you have to be to join?
I guess there isn't technically an age requirement, and I'm not going to set one, but just keep in mind that not only will you be in a Discord server with people of all different ages, but you may end up working with someone who is twice your age, so if that makes you uncomfortable, this may not be the event for you. I don't think I'd recommend joining if you're younger than 13/14, however, I won't stop you.

Would you be able to explain how prompts work again please?
Yes of course! So once sign ups close another form will open up for just the writers. This will be a prompt application form and every writer has to fill it out. The idea is that every writer will write down a short summary or general idea of what they want to write for the event. These ideas will be submitted anonymously so no one will know who they’re working with until matches are sent out. Artists will chose from the promt submissions once all of the writers have submitted their applications. Pairings will depend on which artist(s) chose which prompts.

How am I supposed to create a new email for the event?
I would recommend just creating a gmail account that you check periodically. It’s super easy to make a new email through gmail and if you never do this event again you can easily just forget about the email.
