Imagine a commander not wanting his men to be slaughtered for absolutely no reason when he could prevent it-
Look Loghain did a lot of bad things in Origins, like a lot a lot, but I feel like we can agree that retreating at Ostagar wasn’t actually one of them

The Loghain Lover's Guide
On how to get him as a party member
Spoilers below the cut
First things first, are you attached to Alistair? -> Yes. This guide may not be for you, because you can't have both. -> No. Congratulations, you're in the right place! What you will have to do. -> It doesn't matter if you win or loose the Landsmeet. What matters is choosing to duel Loghain.
You have to accept the offer of a duel, and It has to be the Warden dueling Loghain. It can't be any other follower and certainly can't be Alistair, or Alistair will kill him. Second, you have to win the duel After you win, you have to accept his surrender and Riordan's offer to make him a warden.
Something to note is that Alistair will heavily disagree no matter what you say. He is too morally opposed to the idea of Loghain being on your side, and you can't convince him otherwise. You can't make Alistair king alone without him killing Loghain, so you have to either make Anora queen, or have him and Anora get married and rule together (You have to have made an agreement with Anora before the Landsmeet + have a hardened Alistair). If you don't make Alistair king, he's either killed by Anora (which you can prevent through proper dialogue choices), or have him be exiled where he becomes that one drunk in Da2. If he's married to Anora, he becomes king but he hates you, for what he perceives as a "betrayal." After that? Enjoy your new Loghain! He's actually a pretty funny guy with a very dry sense of humor, and has some pretty interesting banters with the other party members. Along with that, he becomes your replacement sword and shield warrior. Note: If you want to prevent him from sacrificing himself in the fight against the archdemon, you have to either sacrifice your warden, or do the dark ritual option with Morrigan.

No problem!
I actually thought about the glasses thing too! My Mc actually breaks them the moment he gets there, and his vision is absolute ass, so he has to cope with also being basically blind, but I decided to also have him turned into an elf to compensate.
He basically has cat vision, bc he's near sighted but also has night visions like cats, so he's not completely screwed.

I see all these fics where a person is transported into Thedas, but like...what about the diseases this person has? I never see this being talked about, but a modern human is basically a petri-dish to Thedas people. It would be like the Spanish coming to the Americas, they have no resistances to our diseases. Imagine a person being transported to the world of Dragon Age and they have to worry about killing everyone around them just by coughing, especially if they aren't the Warden or the Inquisitor. They could potentially kill the hero of the story. Along with that, what if Thedas has diseases that the mc has never even heard of-- if the mc gets infected, they're screwed because they don't have immunity either. This is never brought up, and I wasn't sure if anyone else considered this? Anyway, just a thought I was sitting on.

Yeah! I was working on a Mpt story, too, and I just had this thought. Mainly because I feel like it's important? Plus, it would be an interesting concept to explore. There is so many things that would make life very difficult for a normal person that isn't adjusted to the environment. Especially relating to things like hygiene.

No joke, I love Loghain to the point of speedrunning most of the game to get him as a follower, collected all the maps to gift him, and looked up a guide for how to raise his approval.
Like yeah, I know he's kinda a shitty old bastard, but his humor is on point and he's a family man-- I can ignore the warcrimes cause he's unreasonably bby girl, even if Da:O makes him look like a potato.
Anyway, look at my fugly ass man with a disorder. Isn't he great?

Did some more art of Tarasyl'Numin! tried doing some experimenting with style. Mostly just a doodle, nothing overly serious.

okay so i just realised (thanks to hank green) that the whole petrichor / smell of rain thing isn't just a fantastical poetic concept but is actually something real people experience in the real world, and one in ten people can't smell it at all, and this must be what it's like to find out you're colourblind

do you think sten ever takes a moment to think about the fact that he's surrounded by a bunch of 20 year olds and just goes. ugh. no wonder they act like this. middle aged man constantly being pestered and poked at by a bunch of fresh faced adults that he could toss with one hand. and yet he doesn't. truly the marvel of the century.

Always appreciated the simple but firm delivery of Sten’s “No.” when you ask him if he could tell you about the qunari. It’s always unintentionally funny and I appreciate a companion who will just say no and refuse to elaborate. More games should include one.

You know what would be interesting? If elvish clans had different traditions based on one of the primary gods, considering that even if they worship all of them, there must be one god that has the majority of worship. Though, there would be commonalities shared like basic culture, the Vallaslin, having clan elders and seconds, etc. But with the addition of having specific quirks that differentiate the clans. Probably stuff having to do with courting, child rearing and marriage, how the hair is worn, and what is considered justice/suitable punishment for elves that break rules or commit "crimes" within the clan. What would be even more neat was if Dalish clans had appearances or features that were unique to the clan while also looking different from city elves. I'm not sure, just a thought, might expand more on it later.
