“One reads poetry because he is a member of the human race, and the human race is filled with passion! Medicine, law, banking— these are necessary to sustain life. But poetry, romance, love, beauty? These are what we stay alive for!”
- N.H. Kleinbaum, Dead Poets Society

Because I'm going to watch Macbeth in theatre soon I tought it would be a good idea to finish If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio. Now I want to cry and scream, but the tears aren't coming. So I will just lie there, in complete silence, staring into the distance, holding the book to my chest while I deal with my emotions. 🥲
I wonder if writers know what will they unleash to the world while writing these masterpieces? Do they know how much power they will have over us, readers?
I can't wait to know if The Secret History will be this intense too or it will destroy me more. ☺️
