Something that’s always baffled me is so many antis being into really violent or dark media and that’s totally fine for some reason, but as soon as anything is suggestive or sexual it’s evil.

Sex isn’t special. It doesn’t have some special power to corrupt people more than violence. If watching horror movies or playing violent games isn’t going to make me into a murderer, then making or consuming sexual content isn’t going to make me a predator either.

Putting sex on this pedestal as something sacred or special is a big problem. It’s just another activity a human can do like eating or sleeping. The sooner people can just be normal about sex, the sooner all this Puritanism will stop I think. Easier said than done tho…

It is OKAY to have content preferences and to be uncomfortable with certain ships or topics, controversial or not. It is OKAY to distance yourself from such content and block certain tags or creators.

It is NOT OKAY to actively hate and harass real people for creating content of fictional characters that features things that make you uncomfortable.

I’ll say it

I think most anti’s in shipping tags are minors lol. They type and speak like teenagers and argue like a child who just wants reader to understand them and not the other way around, they haven’t matured enough to realize that while fiction can affect reality majority of people are safe and sane enough to know when and where to draw the line, that fiction can act as a warning and deterrent, that enjoying things fictionally can be an good outlet, prevents it from becoming reality, that what you enjoy fictionally doesn’t mean you would enjoy it in reality, and that they don’t have to have a reaction to every thing they disagree with nor have they realized they are solely responsible for curating their online experience.

They don’t have the life experience and/or trauma that ends up often being a reason for enjoying these fictional relationships.

And they often end up using popular ship tags to purposefully interject themselves and disrupt these spaces, they want attention.

Often we tell them to go away, try to argue our reasons, remind them they can block the tag. I want to remind YOU that you should be blocking the poster, that that is possible and helps keep the tag comfortable to navigate for you. Don’t argue, they don’t understand and don’t want to understand because they see it as immoral, kind of stuck in that teenage rebel-like superiority phase we all admittedly go through in some way, shape and form convinced if we do so-and-so it will make us a better person and have the heroic impact we imagine.

Responding to and arguing in their notes gives them power, the attention they’re seeking, they don’t care what they say as long as they can say what they want to say, content in thinking that as long as it’s out there and people are seeing/responding to it that it will get them the results they want.

Also you don’t want to end up saying something terrible to a minor, like, please don’t. They sound like teenagers which makes me think of them as teenagers who just, don’t know how to act, don’t tell them to kys, don’t call them bad names, please lol.

So don’t respond and block please! Why waste your time arguing with a pixel pfp on a screen when you could be enjoying your free time the way you intended? Thank you and make sure to create a good day for yourself :)

death note is an entire series of L and light correctly clocking each other's character intentions trains of thought personality ideals beliefs next moves etc etc etc and then either not identifying or being resistant to taking the most advantageous course of action because they simply cannot resist taking the more interesting path. there are multiple points throughout the series in which either one of them could have ended the game by simply flipping the board but they don't do it because then they don't really win. that's not to say they won't play underhanded or use hidden advantages but if they're going to do that it needs to be something the other could feasibly respond to or else they won't be satisfied. they both need to know, if i continue to play by the rules we've mutually set, could i come out on top? could i outplay him in a legitimate fight? could i beat him if i did it right? and the answer is the reason why they both lose
