These spawned creatures are known as “Tulpas”. They lose memory of their human and gradually lose any sentience they once had, aswell as gradually gaining immense strength. Recently theres been a 300% increase in tulpa caused injuries and deaths. In a tulpa dense area, tulpas can kill humans, which creates more tulpas. This “Cyclical Tulpa Effect” is an extremely dangerous endgame. In response, several for-hire or non-profit agencies have begun killing tulpas, relieving them from their fate.

While all humans are capable of magic, having a gemios provides significant advantage. Gemios often have personalities unto their own, though many stay silent out of preference, some can be very very talkative. Not everything about gemios and liaising are fully understood by science, and many cultures will have their own beliefs surrounding the topic. Some are convinced powerful magic comes from rigorous study, others believe it comes down to a balanced diet and self love!

He saw it crawling towards him. A monster. Some kind of giant slimey salamander, its left half a palest blue, its right an oily black. It pulls itself along the ground, its mouth unnaturally wide, teeth the color of rotted parchment. He was frozen in fear, and the closer it got the louder the sound it made, the louder its gross giggle, and the louder its cry.
“Kageraito…Kageraito…”
It muttered like a deranged baby, in a tone of voice suggesting it knew something you didn’t
“Kageraito…Kageraito.”
It was close enough to strike, but it didn’t. It stood up, using its massive tail as a balance. Though he couldn’t tell where its body ended and tail started. It was close enough to smell its awful breath, and to hear it scream.
“Kageratio…is eating good tonight!”

A gemios is a powerful, phantom-like creature akin to ones soul. They can grant extraordinary abilities, or simply power up someones innate magical ability. Hiro Isterio is an 18 year old high-school senior who has been unable to awaken his, a process known as liaising. One night, he feels himself being watched. Followed by a tulpa, a monster created when a gemios has lost its human.
