I’ve just launched my newest product to the Sweet Oxen store, my new modern letter prints!
Available in three colourways – turquoise and pink, grey and yellow, and monochrome, they make an amazing addition to a nursery, bedroom, studio or living space!
After endless tweaking of the design and nailing down the colours, I’m so pleased with how they’ve come out and I cannot wait to put an E print in turquoise and pink up on the newly decorated nursery walls!
Now available at www.sweetoxen.co.uk. Use code BLOG2017 for 10% off all orders over £10.

Welcome to the World, Emilia Iris!
We are delighted to introduce our beautiful baby girl Emilia, who finally arrived on Saturday 18th June, at a rather decent 8lb 6oz (not quite the dainty 7lb something I had imagined..!).  It was such an intense experience, nothing could truly prepare me for it. Practising pregnancy yoga paid off though and helped me understand the choices in pain relief, potential complications and helped me…

My Breastfeeding Journey...so far
My Breastfeeding Journey…so far
We are now into our seventh week of breastfeeding, which also coincides with World Breastfeeding Week, so I thought I’d share some of my experience and thoughts on it so far. Breastfeeding is often a challenge. I’ve found it to be hard work that has quickly paid off. It’s convenient, free, has health benefits for mum and baby and it is also enjoyable! Those first few weeks are tough though. These…

Shop Closure: Sweet Oxen Maternity Leave!
Shop Closure: Sweet Oxen Maternity Leave!
Tumblr media
So after much consideration of my options when baby arrives, I’ve decided to put my shop on hold until I’m ready to deal with orders and enquiries again. I did consider extending my turnaround times but quite simply, I don’t know how everything is gonna go and of course, I won’t get those first few weeks back and they are more important! My recovery (if for example I had to have a Caesarean)…

Sweet Oxen is back on Etsy!
Sweet Oxen is back on Etsy!
After taking quite the hiatus, I have decided to re-open my Sweet Oxen Etsy store! I was recently reminded of how much I enjoyed selling on Etsy when I looked back on some customer photos of commissioned pieces that I did for several international customers, and realised that I really miss that sort of work! Etsy seems to be an ideal marketplace for getting to know your customers and working with…

Pregnancy...so far!
Pregnancy…so far!
I am now 33 weeks pregnant and cannot believe how fast time is going. It seems like only yesterday we found out we were expecting and since then I’ve gone through the nausea, tiredness and achiness and marvelled at how much my body has changed and grown.   Here are some observations of pregnancy so far.. Fun: Getting incredibly excited at the thought of meeting our baby for the first time,…

A Tiny Little Announcement
A Tiny Little Announcement
Tumblr media
I’m delighted to be able to finally share with you my amazing news…we are having a baby! It’s been an interesting few weeks, mainly a mix of excitement, nausea, tiredness and headaches but I’m feeling much more like my normal self and am looking forward to a lovely Christmas break with family before getting stuck into more work in 2016! My aims for the Christmas holidays mainly include eating (I…

Those of you following Sweet Oxen on Twitter may have seen the odd wedding related tweet, but generally speaking I didn't have much time in the weeks before the wedding to think about anything else, let alone share the details with you!
Dave and I got engaged in March 2013 while on holiday in Snowdonia, Wales. We knew we would love an early summer wedding, and wanted enough time to save and organise the wedding so aimed for Spring/Summer 2015.
Tumblr media
We fell in love with the venue (Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire, close to both our parents and lots of friends and family), so booked it straightaway, even though the venue was still being renovated! Because we had seen the amazing job the team had carried out so far we could trust that the rest would be just as incredible, and it was! Oak panelling with ornate carvings, stained glass and copper accents, beautiful bay windows (the ideal spot for past family wedding photographs and jars of wild flowers), soft blue walls and large mirrors and of course the huge ballroom with it's beautiful windowed ceiling, perfect for the meal and party.

We had a truly special day, even though it went remarkably quickly! It felt quite surreal at moments, but I really will remember it for the rest of my life. Everyone seemed to have an amazing time, there was lots of crazy dancing in the evening and silly photo-booth fun. We were also incredibly lucky that the sun came out for the majority of the day with only a little rain during the night - thank you weather gods..
Venue: Pendrell Hall, West Midlands
Photographer: Juliet Lemon (more of the wonderful photos you see here can also be found on her blog)
Florist: Gill at Lumley's in Finchfield, Wolverhampton
Music: Nero String Quartet, West Midlands; Abductors, via the Alive Network
Customised Make-Up Bags: Hannah Boxley
Petal Confetti: Confetti Cones
Dress: Phase Eight
And of course, massive thanks to our friends and family for being our guests, and to everyone who helped in the run up - we couldn't have done it without you.

#The100DayProject
After a refreshing few weeks off (I’ve been putting all things Sweet Oxen on the backburner since early May) for wedding organisation/actual wedding/honeymoon, I’m really keen to get back to investing my time in creating more. Looking back on how much work I actually produce, and feel I could push myself to do more with my time. A word has come to me recently – the word ‘industrious’ – which got…

A Brief Hiatus
Tumblr media
Apologies for the slight lull in posts. I’m not the most clockwork but even for me, 2 months is a little ridiculous.
I’ve taken some time out to assemble my thoughts and ideas for 2015 and decide what I want to do, and how, and for that I need a little break. I do find the online world a little overwhelming at times especially with so much inspiration and new things popping up on Instagram,…
