When Jedi Rael Averross, another former student of Dooku, requests their assistance with a political dispute, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi travel to the royal court of Pijal for what may be their final mission together. What should be a simple assignment quickly becomes clouded by deceit, and by visions of violent disaster that take hold in Qui-Gon’s mind. As Qui-Gon’s faith in prophecy grows, Obi-Wan’s faith in him is tested—just as a threat surfaces that will demand that Master and apprentice come together as never before, or be divided forever.

Thoughts on Vernestra's cover up in the finale

A Jedi doesn't willingly seek to sow mistrust or deceive for personal gain. A dark side user would do so willing for their benefit. Vernestra isn't hiding the truth to purposefully mislead the senate, she understands the chaos that the truth of this matter would bring to the Republic, and how the Republic needs them if she is to stop this old pupil of hers.

When the show started, we had said that one point was to show how the Jedi slowly lost their way, losing their balance by trying to be the shield of the Republic.

In Vernestra's case, how does she protect the order, her people, while still showing the order as the protectors of the Republic? How does she solve this problem that she knows so little truth about herself? It's a dilemma that there's no right answer for.

It's not so black and white as them dipping into the dark side. It's more like the Senator said. They're losing themselves and their balance in pursuit of controlling the uncontrollable, their emotions. That leads to the grave errors. And how does one deal with that in the face of those who threaten your purpose and therefore existence?

TL;DR the show depicts the secret rise of darkness that goes unchecked when those in the light lose their way trying to control the uncontrollable. It shows how balance is lost when Jedi don't recognise their own desires.

1) Why did Mae call Master Indara a murderer?

Mae: Yes, you do.

2) Why did Master Torbin feel so guilty he was willing to kill himself?

Master Torbin: We thought we were doing the right thing.

3) Why was Master Kelnacca so obsessed with the coven symbol?

4) What is the darkness and deed that Master Sol is hiding?

Qimir: I've accepted my darkness. What have you done with yours?

On The Thread versus The Force discourse.

First consider the witch’s explanation in episode 3.

Mother Aniseya: “All living things are connected by the same Thread. A Thread woven through all of existence. Some call it a Force and claim to use it, but we know the Thread is not a power you wield. Pull the Thread, change everything. It ties you to your destiny, it binds you to others."

Next consider Yoda’s explanation of the Force in the Empire Strikes Back: “For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you.”

Right away there’s a big similarity; both acknowledge that the Force, however you experience it, is everywhere and connects or binds everything together. But consider what at first glance seems to be a difference. The witches seem to interpret the Force as a Thread that connects them, binds them and empowers them. They seem think the Jedi only see it as a tool, to be wielded, and that they (the coven) have the actual view of what it truly is. I think the statement is meant to be ironic because the Jedi also see the Force as more than just a tool. I see pulling the Thread to enact change (or powerful acts), as similar to feeling the Force around you and channeling it by action like the Jedi do. The difference between the two sects appears to do with their understanding of the Force and how they experience its power, and that the witches are likely willing to use the dark side of the Force, whereas the Jedi are wary of the dangers.

Of course, this is my perspective, and what is Star Wars if not perspective, or as Obi-wan once said, “…the truth, from a certain point of view.”

We're hosting a fun Star Wars Trivia Games Night soon to guess Star Wars locations shown in pictures from both the movies and TV shows and would love if you'd like to join as a contestant!

DETAILS:

Interested contestants must join the server by 8pm EST on 22nd May and sign-up to play

Each location will be shown on screen in the Discord's voice channel

Contestants are required to type the answer in the chat, within 10 seconds of the image appearing on screen

Scoring will be on a point system. First correct guess gets 5 points, second correct gets 3 points and third correct gets 2 points

There will be three levels of difficulty as the game progresses

More information will be given at the start of the event.
