Something so unsettling in how Milchick contradicts himself in the same breath, but he has emotionally wrecked Mark to the point that he doesn't see the blatant contradiction. First he reminds Mark that he accepted this job to escape the grief of his wife's death and saying "and you did it! Innie Mark is happy and totally unaware of your pain", and a second later he says that Innie Mark's solace will "make its way" to Mark.

Esxcuse me sir but those are two contradictory statements. Either Outie Mark and Innie Mark are completely severed, so Innie Mark doesn't know Outi Mark's pain and, viceversa, Outie Mark doesn't know Innie Mark's happiness, OR they're not fully severed. Or emotions and feelings travel from one Mark to another, and if happiness can be shared, so can pain. And we tie back to Petey's "You carry the hurt with you. You feel it down there too".

And all of this was obvious to me through the first watch of the episode and I think it would have been obvious to Mark too if, you know, Mr Milchick didn't interfere with his ability to remain lucid with the "remember the insurmountable amount of grief you always feel?"

inconsolable over irving in this episode. no nuance here, irving is straight up suicidal in this episode. essentially placing him in the same circumstances in which mark chose to become severed - suffering unimaginable heartbreak and seeing switching his brain off as the only viable option for coping with it - and giving him that same choice at surface level to be relieved of it - except it's NOT the same at all, because innies don't get to compartmentalise, they ARE the compartmentalisation, if they choose to switch themselves off, they DIE. the illusion of choice here. irving can either suffer mindless torture of monotony every day with the knowledge that the man he loves is dead and never coming back, or he can fucking DIE. and he genuinely sees that as a viable option. as his only way out of this pain. because even if he did make it out, if he somehow against all odds gained his freedom in the outside world, he'd still have nothing. burt would not be waiting for him.

"I should be happy he's happy" and the way he doesn't even feel entitled to his grief?? like he has no right to be feeling the pain he's feeling right now? innie indoctrination goes so hard he's incapable of seeing that the very fact he's grieving innie burt, a hypothetical life they could have had together, is proof that he's just as real as his outie counterpart! he has just as much right to that life as anyone! like, NO, irv! you have been wronged, you have been so deeply wronged, they made you capable of feeling these things and forming this relationship and falling in love and then systematically removed every tool you could have had to pursue it, and then effectively handed you a length of rope and made you feel like the only empowerment you can find is in the act of hanging yourself with it.

"if he's gone and I'm gone, then somehow, we'll be together" broke me because he really has been so beaten down by this point at the hopelessness of it all, realising that there is no scenario in which he can be with the man he loves, that his only hope at finding any triumph or meaning in this is to die along with burt. at least in chasing him into oblivion, he will have made the one choice he could have to follow his heart. and that as a queer-centric narrative specifically is actually devastating.

SUCH an insane and heavy thing to come straight out of the gate with in the season premier. immediately cementing irving as one of the most masterfully complex characters I've ever seen - i can only hope his arc this season is in finding strength in the act of defiance at last and making good on his promise to burn lumon to the ground for what they've put him through. to carry that grief and channel it into bringing the system that has wronged you down. I believe in the power of queer rage and vengeance!!!!

I’ve seen a lot of crude jokes going around about the CEO assassination, and I just want to say one thing.

I think we should do worse.

Live reenactments on site. Several scheduled a day, like the shows at Disney parks. Someone brings brownies to pass around for the 10:30am showing. Everyone chants “DENY, DEFEND, DEPOSE” as the shots are being fired. People clap at the end. Someone pops one of those party poppers filled with monopoly money. The real Adjuster is in the crowd. People leave the place with a huge smile on their faces. “Sorry I was late, Boss. I was watching The Adjustment.”

its so sweet to me whenever a reconstruction of a neanderthal's face shows up on social media and people are like "oh they would have loved minecraft" "they would have loved weed brownies" it's so sweet. i hope that continues on to the next stage of human evolution. i want whoever comes next to dig me up, reconstruct my face, and for the girlbloggers of this far-flung civilization to go "duuuude she would have loved churfing back a freefing zarbee"

Polycule but it’s just two people in a romantic relationship with each other and their third who’s pretty obviously aroace but also somehow so deeply intertwined in their lives that it’d just be wrong to not count them as involved. Is this anything.

On one hand I'm so happy because I can listen to the original West End Cast versions of Hadestown with an amazing mixing and quality (as they deserve, they're one if not my favorite hadestown cast), but on the other I can't help but miss a lot of songs in the album :( There's no hey little songbird, there's no how long, there's no flowers- There's just one epic!!!!

I'm sorry I know most people will wish they kissed or interpret their relationship as romantic (as is fandom nature) but I'm feeling sososo emotional about queerplatonic Jayvik. They're partners, with a shared vision of the world, who's destinies are literally intertwined on a cosmic level. It just makes so much sense.

And aroace Victor also makes so much sense. In season one, we had the classic scene play out where your best friend stops noticing you cause they got involved in a romantic relationship. Not to mention the allusions to being cold and machine like in season two. How can you be human if you don't love like that? But what breaks him out is not a kiss, but rather a declaration that Jayce still wants him, still wants his partner by his side, imperfections and all.

I don't care how people interpret their love, as long no one implies it's somehow less than, cause they didn't kiss :')

I can't believe they made Jayce have to crawl his way up to Piltover all on his own with a bad leg just like Viktor did and they made Viktor experience a life of loneliness without Jayce right there when he probably never thought Jayce would go first since he had his illness and was the one actively dying.

Really "take each other's woes" right there giving Jayce the understanding of why Viktor felt the way he felt about himself and Viktor understanding why Jayce broke his promise just to save his life.

one thing i keep coming back to is the fight scene in the council room from s208 because it just tells us SO much about viktor. when he enters the room in his avatar he catwalks in. he moves with so much elegance and so much confidence. the way he pins jayce by the wrist and then slowly wraps his fingers around jayce’s hammer. the way he wraps his legs around jayce and cups his face and brushes his fingers over his lips. the way when he’s towering over jayce in the astral plane he calls him *his* partner for the first time.

we’re seeing who viktor is when he inhabits a body that he thinks is perfect

in the avatar of the great evolution, where viktor finally sees himself as powerful, as pure, as just like everybody else… he’s confident with jayce, even dominant, in a way he would never allow himself to be while he was alive in his original body.

and of course the kicker is that without his imperfections, without his entire self, he’s not viktor to jayce anymore. ‘my partner died in this room’

and it takes until the finale, until viktor can see himself through jayce’s eyes, for it to click that he could have been this way with jayce all along. that he has always been equal to jayce. that his confidence, his grace, his power - jayce saw it all along.

and i just found the end of the council room scene so devastating. the way that once viktor’s perfect evolved body is broken we immediately see him huddled and collapsed on the floor, making himself as small as possible
