The Maid - Netflix Original

Recently I saw this movie called The Maid. Even though its a Thai movie and the language is unknown to me, I actually enjoyed the movie. The movie is available on Netflix to watch and is divided into Three Parts or Three Chapters.

This movie in all Three Chapters show us different angle of the movie. The first was the introduction, second chapter is the background and one is able to connect the dots of the characters and the final chapter is the conclusion which ends with havoc.

The story revolves around a mansion and how the residents are unable to hire the maid for a longer period of time. The opening scene shows one of the maid being chased away by what she calls the Monkey Toy of the owners daughter.

After this incident the family hires another maid who again faces some weird things in mansion. You could now see a figure of a woman who follows where ever the little girl goes and apparently harms who ever tries to harm or do anything wrong with the young girl.

The movie then shifts to show the past of The Maid. We also see that she is trying to investigate about something that happened in the mansion. With the past unfolding we see that no one in the mansion are as innocent as they seem to be.

The mysteries begins to unfold themselves. We see that there was a maid who lived in mansion and was close to both the residents. It is also reveled that she was the biological mother of the young girl who was believed to be the daughter of the residents.

It is also reveled that the current maid and the biological mother of the girl are sisters. The Maid opts for the job in mansion to find out what happened with her sister ad finds out that she died while staying in mansion and now haunts the very mansions.

We also see that The Maid takes the job to take revenge on the family and that she actually killed her previous employers and does the same when there is a party at the mansion. She not only kills her employers but also the staff and people who attends the party and lives the mansion taking the young girl with her.

Peter Pan - Origin

Peter Pan…the boy who never grew up. The boy who lived in a place called Neverland where only children live who are called The Lost Boys, is friends with a fairy called Tinkerbell and runs from Captain Hook. Peter Pan is a character loved by every kid as which kid wants to grow up.

But the origin tale says something different. Peter Pan was someone who hates to grow up and when the Lost Boys wanted to leave Neverland and wished to grow up, he would end up killing those kids. Captain Hook was one of the Lost Boys in fact and was the only one who was able to escape Neverland. When Peter Pan finds out about this, he wishes to kill Hook but is unable to do so.

This version of the tale is shown and became popular due to ABC show Once Upon A Time where Peter Pan was the bad guy and Captain Hook was actually the good one.

Snow White - Origin

Snow White and Seven Dwarfs is one of my favorite childhood tales. A tale of a Princess who escapes her Evil Step Mother aka The Evil Queen, lives with seven tiny people and falls in love with Prince Charming. The Evil Queen disguises herself as a hag and gives Snow White an apple which makes her to fall in sleep. She is then believed to be dead by the dwarfs and placed in Glass Coffin and this is where Prince Charming arrives and wakes her up with true love’s kiss. Romantic isn’t it.

But in one of the origin stories The Evil Queen tries to poison Snow White in multiple occasions. Once she gave Snow White a Hair Comb with which she got poisoned but the Dwarfs were able to save her. Later she provided Snow White with a Belt which poisoned her again and Dwarfs were again able to save her.

The third time The Evil Queen gives Snow White an Apple with which she chocks herself with and when the Dwarfs come back home, they are unable to save her and think she is dead. When Dwarfs put Snow White in her Glass Coffin, there is a Prince travelling from the forest and there he sees her and falls for her.

The Prince decides to take Snow White in his castle who is still presumed to be dead in her Glass Coffin. Now when his solders carry Snow White while walking, they stumble which makes the chocked piece of apple to fall out of Snow White’s mouth and this is how she wakes up.

The Prince proposes Snow White and they get married. Happy Ending, right? Well the story doesn’t end here. When The Evil Queen learns that Snow White is still alive and getting married, she decides to attend wedding. This is where Snow White gets furious after seeing her and as The Price is aware of the deeds that The Queen has done, he orders one of his solder to bring in red slippers and make The Evil Queen walk in them.

Now remember these red slippers are actually iron slippers which were heated hot red. The Evil Queen is made to wear them and she is unable to bare the heat due to which she dies. And this is where, the story actually ends.

Little Mermaid - Origin

Little Mermaid or Ariel as we love to call her. A Mermaid who is fascinated by humans and falls in love with one who turns out to be The Prince. The Prince and Ariel fall in love, get married and live Happily Ever After, right? No, this is how the story actually goes.

The Little Mermaid was the youngest of the Seven Sisters, she was the daughter of the King of Ocean and they had a boon to live for hundreds of years. But the young Princess was fascinated by humans. One day she goes on the sea shore where she sees a ship getting wreaked by storm and that’s where she sees The Prince and falls in love with him.

She just like the Disney tale saves the life of The Prince and sings him a song. The Prince wakes up when he hears some one singing, the young Princess seeing The Prince wake up goes back into the ocean not knowing when she will see him again.

The Princess is so in love with The Prince that she makes a deal with the Sea Witch who in exchange of her voice gives her legs. Now that The Princess has legs, she is able to walk on land you’d think that they would fall in love and get married right? Wrong, when The Princess comes on land she sees The Prince with another girl who he thinks have saved him from the storm.

Now the Little Mermaid is heart broken and she cannot even go back to sea. But there is something else that she is worried about. If The Prince doesn’t fall in love with The Princess within three days, she will get dissolved into dust and would die. When the elder sisters find out about the deal of The Young Princess and The Sea Witch, they visit the Witch in order to save their sister. There the Witch gives them a dagger with which The Young Princess need to kill the girl that The Prince has fallen in love with. The Young Princess refuses to do so and on the third day when she was supposed to die, she gets turned into a fairy because of her good deeds. Well at least this story didn’t have a complete sad ending now did it.

Cinderella - Origin

Cinderella…. A story that every girl love, how a poor girl with the help of her Fairy Godmother attends The Royal Ball. A story of a sweet girl and her evil step mother and cruel step sisters. Every girl wanted to be Cinderella so that she could wear those Glass Slippers and ride on the Carriage made from Pumpkin which was handled my animals and birds disguised as humans.

Now the original story does give a happy ending to Cinderella. But what happened when The Prince finds the famous Glass Slippers? The Slippers are actually Gold Slippers and it’s the Pigeons and the Birds who bring Cinderella her dress. He makes every girl in kingdom try those slippers much similar to the Disney version. But did you know what the Step Sisters did.

Later The Prince again visits Cinderella’s house, now it’s the second Step Sister who tries on the Slipper. This time the heel of the sister doesn’t fit in and so the Step Mother asks her to cut off her hell. Once again, The Prince thinking he found his bride he leaves with her and again he sees blood and figures out that she is not his bride either.

Now for the third time The Prince visits Cinderella’s house and that’s when he finds his true bride. Happily Ever After right… well the story doesn’t end here. The Sisters begs Cinderella to let them stay with her in palace after her wedding. Cinderella allows them to and when they walk out of the palace the pigeons who were companions of Cinderella pokes the eyes of the sisters leaving them bleeding from their eyes and this is where the story really ends.

I saw your sleeping beauty post and I wanted to point out that there is no one version of the sleeping beauty story. The Disney version is based off the French version is the kiss. The German version is very similar to the French one, but the Italian version, which is not often told, is the version with r*pe. It's interesting to see how different cultures tell a very similar story.

I read about this version somewhere and so I thought about writing on it as not many are aware about the origin of the stories that we love

Sleeping Beauty - Origin

I am sure we all know about the tale of Sleeping Beauty aka Aurora. How Meleficent tricked her and made her and her kingdom fall into deep sleep for around a hundred years. How Prince Philipe came and kissed her and woke her up. And they lived Happily Ever After.

But this was not how the story actually ends. When Sleeping Beauty was in her deep slumber a The Prince did come to her but it was not him who woke her up. What happened was the The Prince raped the The Princess and gets married to another The Princess.

The Sleeping Beauty in her sleep gets pregnant and when the baby is born, she wakes up when the baby licks her thumb. Now the The Prince starts spending time with the baby and Sleeping Beauty which leads to him ignoring his wife. The jealous wife then does unthinkable, she cooks the baby and feeds it to the The Prince. Game of Thrones much isn’t it.

Cartoon Network of 90s Kid

Childhood is the phase which we all love and one thing that makes our childhood amazing are the shows or games that we grow up with. Cartoons are giant part of each individuals lives. People grow up watching cartoons. Now a Days kids are watching Oggy and the Cockroaches, Roll No 21 and Bandbudh Aur Budbak only along with sorry excuses of attempted remakes of some golden era cartoons such as Teen Titans and Powerpuff Girls. I still remember the cartoons that I used to watch when i was younger. Cartoons such as Loony Toons, Johnny Bravo, Scooby Doo, Flintstones, Richie Rich, Jetsons and so many others were the ones that I grew up watching. Not only did we watch these shows for fun we got to learn various life lessons because of them.We were as I call, the luckiest generation when it came to the topic of cartoons. Kids today are unable to enjoys the toons the way we were enjoying them when we were younger. I remember rushing back home from school just because I would not want to miss a new episode of say He Man or Dexter's Laboratory or Dragon Tales or something else. But the story is completely different today. Kids now watch nothing else but Oggy and the Cockroaches as they have nothing else to watch. Even today, if while flicking channels and see Tom and Jerry or Popeye I would still stop and watch them as they were what made my childhood... childhood. And no, I am not talking about those sorry excuses of remakes, I am talking about the original gems. The ones with which we laughed. Hell, I remember every kid's mother turning on Popeye so that the kid would eat leafy veggies. Scooby Doo helped us realize evil are within us and there is no such thing as real Monster. But what do Oggy teach kids now a days? Absolutely nothing.What I am trying to say here is, kids today are missing the fun that we had while watching cartoons and I genuinely hope that one day Flintstones and Jetsons will be on air instead of Oggy

Dark

THE END IS THE BEGINNING AND THE BEGINNING IS THE END

In a small town of Winden weird things starts to happen after the death of Michael Kahnwald. His son Jonas Kahnwald who turns to therapy after the incident finds out some dark secrets about the town.

The story revolves around four families who are Kahnwald, Nielson, Doppler and Tiedemann, who are connected to one other in a weird way. After the disappearance of Mikkel Nielson, Jonas goes on a search mission on him. This is where he discovers that he could travel in time through the cave which is connected to the power plant of the town.

The interesting part of this story is we come face to face with various characters who are revealed to be one individual. For instance, we see three variations of Jonas (The Stranger and Adam) and Martha (older Martha and Eva) who are main leads of the series. Characters like Noah and Claudia brings in suspense factor along with giving the audience the knowledge of the family history.

Initially the time travel too place in three eras which are 1954, 1987 and 2020 but later 2053 which was stated as apocalypse world and 1921 were also introduced. Along with this we find out there is another universe in existence which is Eva’s world. Adam’s world which follows Sic Mundus which is dark, Eva’s world follows Erit Lux which is light. Introduction of another character in three versions is again made who is known as The Unknow who is Adam and Eva’s son and acts as a knot between two worlds.

The prime story of world 3 takes place in the years 2019 and 2052 which is also referred as apocalypse world. Along with this storyline in 1888 is also shown to the audience.

It is revealed that the original time machine was made by H. G. Tannhaus after the death of his son, daughter in law and granddaughter. Building of this time machine lead the world to split into two parts and the original world was divided in two.

Jonas and Martha, with the help of Claudia figures out in order to stop the apocalypse to happen in both worlds they need to save Tannhaus’s family and stop him from making the time machine to bring them back. By doing so the two of them are able to break the knot and the world is never torn in two parts.

The Oath of Vayuputras (Shiva Trilogy Book 3)

Now it is revealed that Brahaspati is alive and is in Panchavati, Lord Shiva figures out the evil that he is fighting against is nothing else but Somras. It was because of the waste generated by Somras which was flushed into the river which resulted into the birth of Nagas.

Lord Shiva travelled to Ujjain to meet the chief Vasudev, Gopal where he explains to them about Vayuputras the tribe left by previous Mahadev Lord Rudra. Here he faces difficulty in terms to explain to them about the evil that they are facing.

Realising Meluha is the place where Somras is being manufactured the Lord declares Holy War where he asks everyone to stop the consumption of the same. When the war starts Pravateshwar due to his duty to his mother land goes back to Meluha and fights along with them.

Lord Shiva realises its none other than Maharishi Bringu who is responsible for the attact at Panchvati and he is the one who is conspiring along with Emperor Dilipa and Daksha. Along with the Nagas, Brangus and Vasudevs by his side the Lord attacks Meluha where as Kartik and Ganesh attacks Ayodhya. But the army attacks Sati’s troop which lead to their defeat.

Following to their defeat the Lord travels to get the deadly Brahmastra weapon in order to frighten Meluhans. While at Pariha Lord meets his uncle, who happens to be the chief of Vayuputras and he convinces everyone that Lord Shiva is the real Neelkanth. Due to this the Lord gets Pashupathiastra which acts on specific target unlike Brahmastra which destroys everything.

At the same time Pravateshwar sends decoy ships to Panchavati in order to distract Kali but she releases the plot and goes back to the war. Also, at the same time Daksha who is unaware of Lord Shiva not being present at Meluha sends peace treaty which gets accepted by Sati. Unaware of the plot she goes to Meluha where she is killed by Egyptian assassians.

The war ends here but when Lord Shiva comes to know about the death od Sati he becomes furious and dcides to launch the Astra on Devagiri which would result into destruction of the same along with the hidden manufacturing of Somras. People like Parvateshwar, Anandmayi, Veerini decide to stay back in the city and die with it, but Kartik persuades Bhrigu to remain alive in order to share his vast knowledge with future generations.

Finally,Lord Shiva retires to Mount Kailash where he lives the rest of his days peacefully, although he misses Sati every day. Ganesh, Kali and Kartik become known as Gods all over India. Bhrigu continues teaching and collates his knowledge in a book called Bhrigu Samhita. Sati's death is not forgotten and she is later renowned as Goddess Shakti.

The Secret of The Nagas (Shiva Trilogy Book 2)

Now as it was believed that the Nagas are the real evil, the troop containing Lord Shiva, his wife Sati and a few hundred loyals moved towards Ayodhaya where Sati was attacked. After finding a gold coin which raised an hope to lead towards the evil Lord Shiva began to move towards Kashi where Kartik is being born and raised.

When in Kashi they discover a new disease, which is referred to be Naga disease which is caused due to a plague infesting Branga and Lord Shiva decides to find the cause of this. All the while Sati is in Kashi along with Kartik where she faces a new problem in the form of a group of Lions terrorising a small village. While fighting these lions Sati makes a discovery of her being related to not one but two Nagas when they come to help her.

It is discovered that Sati has a twin sister named Kali who was abandoned when she was born by her father, it is also discovered that her first born son Ganesh from her first marriage is still alive and he is also a Naga because of which her father abandons him as well. Formed with deformities like extra pair of hands and face like an elephant they were believed to be the evil. After finding her family she brings them back to Kashi with her where she hoped to reunite her whole family.

After coming back from Bringa, Lord Shiva is reunited with his family and also gets to meet Kali and Ganesh, but the joy is shorted when it if figured out that it was Ganesh who was responsible for the death of his friend and chief scientist of Meluha, Brahaspati. After making this discovery Lord Shiva doesn’t believe Ganesh and refuses to accept him as his son. When Ganesh saves Kartik from lion attack and it is discovered that Sati’s father murdered her first husband along with abandoning Ganesh when he was born, she along with the Neelkanth leaves Meluha.

Now both the sisters being reunited, Neelkanth and his family travel with Kali and Ganesh to Panchavati which is the capital of Nagas where it is discovered that Brahaspati is still alive and is now teaching the Naga kids. So, if not the Nagas then who is the real evil? The questions still in the mind of Neelkanth, he continues his journey to get rid of the evil. But will Brahaspati help him? Will Nagas help him? The journey to find the true evil continues now with the help of Brahaspati and Nagas.

The Immortals of Meluha (Shiva Trilogy Book 1)

Whenever I start reading a book, I usually enter a different dimension, no matter how many times I’ve been there it always felt brand new to me. Don’t get me wrong but I was always fascinated with fiction, the world which was imaginary and also the character. But when I decided to start reading The Shiva Trilogy by author Amish Tripathi which consisted of books named The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of Nagas and The Oath of The Vayuputras I never in my life would have imagined to love them so much.

Being someone who was always interested in fiction and loving the world which needed imagination to enter I was unsure of entering a world which existed thousands or perhaps even a million of years ago. To enter a world of good and evil, about wars between Gods and Demons, a mythological land of Ancient India and follow the journey of Lord Shiva, a journey of him becoming a God himself.

Questions were to be answered, not just any questions but questions on our knowledge about the legends that we knew and about those we grew up listening to. Is evil actually evil or is it just a part of good? Can evil and good ever be separated? Are they both the same? So many questions and of course an adventurous journey.

The adventure started way before Lord Shiva was Lord, he was just a man leading his small tribe called the Guna tribe. When he entered a perfect city of Meluha, he was then given the name Neelkanth after drinking a medicine called Somras which apparently made people staying in the drinker of it immortal. Here the journey starts when it is found out that Shiva or Neelkanth was destined to destroy evil which people leaving in Meluha believed were the Nagas along with a Chandravanshis. Meluhans being Suryavanshis and followers of a certain way of life unlike the Nagas and Chandravanshis.

At first it was believed that Chandravanshis are the big bad evil who are supposed to be destroyed but that turns out to be a rumor as they were the followers of Neelkanth and believed that Suryavanshis were the real evil. Later it is believed Nagas are the ultimate evil that is to be destroyed.

Fifty Shades of Twilight

Everyone has read The Twilight Saga when they were younger and after a few years everyone got obsessed with this book series called Fifty Shades Trilogy.

But did you knew both these series are connected in a weird way? I am sure everyone is aware with the term called ‘Fanfiction’ or FanFics as we like to call them.

What if I tell you Fifty Shades is nothing but a FanFic based on Twilight Saga. Yes, Fifty Shades was initially written by author E L James as a fanfic based on Stephnie Meyer’s Twilight Saga

Weird right, can you imagine Edward Cullen as Christian Grey and Bella Swan as Ana Steele? But thats how it was suppose to be.

Some books/movies were actually written as fanfics and had way too different characters imagined them what we see them or how we imagine them to be

Struggle of Disney/Marvel/Harry Potter fan

Being someone who loves Marvel, Harry Potter and Disney/Pixar can be so confusing for others. First they think you like movies made of kids and then they get confused cause you love superheroes as well.

But lets not forget the dilemma that one suffer cause you do not know if you should call Emma Watson, Hermione or Belle or if you should call Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter or Grindelwald or Jude Law as Dumbledore or Yon-Rogg

These characters become part of ones life no matter who play them. You could like animated movies at one time, then a musical followed by superhero action movies. There’s nothing weird about it now is it?

Jumanji

Year 1995 people entered Jumanji for the very first time and became part of Alan’s adventures. It was the year when jungle came to life with the help of a board game which many kids wanted to play as well.

Years later in the year 2016, that board game turned into a video game and pulled 4 teenagers inside the game. This time they were given the avatars named Dr. Xander "Smolder" Bravestone,

Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon and Ruby Roundhouse.

Their task was to save Jumanji and thats what they did. During their journey they became friends with someone called Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough who got stuck inside the game in the year 1996.

They were able to save Jumanji and come back to the real world.

Three years later again the teenagers enter Jumanji this time not only with Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough but two new characters named Ming Fleetfoot and Cyclone. This time Cyclone stays back inside the game to look out after the jungle so that no one harms danger to Jumanji.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Friends are someone that one need in their life. You may have only two friends or even a hundred but there are some who are close to your heart.

Once there were six friends who were more like family and their names were Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Ross. They all had different personalities but they still managed to be best friends.

They had been through so much in their lived and still managed to bring smile to others faces. They became my friends. Whenever they used to have coffee at Central Perk it felt like I was there with them having coffee or watching Joey’s episode of ‘Days of Our Life’ in Monica’s apartment or when one of them got married or got divorced in the case of Ross, it felt like I was present with them going through all these phases of their lives.

Straight from Rachel becoming friends with the gang to the birth of Monica and Chandler’s twins. Used to wait for the time when Phoebe would sing Smelly Cat. It was a special journey.

When they said ‘I’ll be there for you’, never thought they actually meat it as they were there for me whenever I needed them

Happy Birthday Ronald Weasley

RONALD WEASLEY... I’m not going to shout at this boy for stealing his father’s car because when he stole the car he went on an adventure with his best friend. Not only that he is one of the bravest wizard known and is now an auror.

Ron helped us to realise that its only to be weird and funny.

When at the age of 11 he played human chess to beat Voldemort we knew he is not only funny but brave as well and its his birthday
