Fun Enstars Fact! Canon is abolished and I make it now because this shit would never happen. Clearly we're in an alternate timeline where Evil ES makes all the decisions and everyone has been replaced by their evil doppelgangers

As someone that was excited for Ibuki, I was disappointed (but as a HiiroP and just Amagi bro fan, unsurprised) and it was egregious enough to need to demand change. As a RyuseitaiP, this hurts me so deeply. These are the characters I can see myself most in, the unit based on holding onto what you love and never letting go of it, and protecting it. Shinobu would not wave it off, his unit wouldn’t wave it off. Not only does it mischaracterize Shinobu, but it a way that mischaracterizes the rest of the unit.

Give the superhero unit their autism back, let him love his interest deeply and cry when it’s hurt or taken away. Let us love enstars deeply and cry when you hurt it, Happy Elements.

do you think enstars is reaching its eos? /genq yes i hate happyL's racist ass with all my heart and i hope they explode into a million of pieces but i still and as silly as it may sound attached to one of the characters and love them very dearly, i really feel anxious about losing thier like. yearly updates (sif trauma)

This is going to be a very opinionated answer to this ask, just a warning, but my answer is no.

HappyEle makes far, far too much money from Enstars as it is right now. Sure, they're losing support as a company, but so long as the highest-spending players remain there, they'll keep pumping out stuff. It remains one of, if not the, most popular mobile games in all of Japan. To say EOS is on the horizon is naive.

I cannot, however, speak to the state of any Globalstars versions. I don't know how much money Engstars makes, and I don't know how many daily players it has. Even if Engstars were to sink, though, that doesn't mean we as fans will lose out on canon-- we'll just have to go back to what we were all doing before, which was going off of fan translations (which is what I'm doing anyway, given I don't interact with Engstars).

HappyEle, for as poorly as they treat their characters and as hated as they are for it, are showing zero signs of slowing down right now. They have a PJSK collab coming up in a month. They're still doing very frequent collabs. Pop-up shops are everywhere in big Japanese cities. They're building up to their 10th anniversary right now, and have been since shortly after their 9th.

Enstars going under is inevitable, yes, but it's going to be far into the future. You don't have to worry about that right now. But even when it does, we still have enough stories and enough fan-driven love to keep this community going. You'll be okay. We'll all be okay.

there's a lot of in-universe shows & whatnot but off the top of my head I can say there's various tokusatsu shows (one of which Jin appeared on when he was active), in PORTRAIT Akiomi mentions the agency a later cancelled movie Makoto was supposed to star in, Akiomis' idol era voice lines to Jin mentions a TV Drama Jin appeared on, there's Bankara Academy & Haikara Academy later becoming Colorful Academy (if I remember correctly?) which is another older show that was brought back in the current revival craze]

Again, this is not exhaustive, not by a longshot. There are a ton of different things this could be referring to, ranging from one-off mentions to fully developed projects that a story revolves around.

how many in canon movies/tv series are there? i remember vampire shogun, the jekyll and hide adaptation with nazuna and himeru and that one movie makoto and tori were in. not that important, i'm just curious lol

This is something I have no idea about, and will need to ask the collective of the Enstars community for more information on. I don't know if the Theatre Dramatica performances count as "canon fiction" (nor if you even wanted to include those, considering they're not movies or tv shows lol), so if anyone has anything else to add, let me know!

I remember something about Road to Show and having a few of the shuffle units in, like, an actual performance? I don't know. I forgor.

1 is true, it was mentioned offhandedly once in an interview with akira; he said that kanata was originally designed to be a robot/android (hence why he couldnt swim) and chiaki the ability to transfer wounds onto himself - nothing more was specified, but in early concept art you can see that rei's ears used to be pointed, which attributes to the possibility he used to be an actual vampire]

I brought up Rei's pointed ears before, but didn't know about Kanata being a robot.

If I can find the interview in which this was mentioned, I'll try to link it here, but it seems to be CN exclusive so I don't know how easy it will be to track down.

Ahh, I also remember hearing about this. I have some concept art in my !-era vol 1 art book where Rei has pointed ears, but I don't know of much beyond that. (They should give him his ears back, by the way.)

Hey guys!

As of the most recent Akatsuki event, fans of Ensemble Stars! across the globe have begun voicing their anger with the distasteful, ignorant, and outright bigoted nature of the franchise's story as a whole (most prominently (but not exclusively) its racist structure, undertones, plot points, and rhetoric). I have always been of the opinion that Happy Elements K.K. as a company is not worthy of respect, and wholly do not care about fans' and users' input, feelings, concerns, and criticisms. Time and time again, H.E. have not only put their own bottom line first, but have made it their only concern.

Needless to say, I am not only disappointed but infuriated with this company. While I am an optimist who hopes to see the best come from any situation, this is not one of the cases where this would be a realistic outlook. Because of this, posts on here will likely be infrequent, as I don't want anyone to believe that even for a moment I think their decisions are excusable.

That being said, while I encourage everyone to do their part in reminding H.E. over and over how much harm they've caused and the colossal damage they've done to their IP, I must also remind everyone that most of a gacha's game's profits come from the small percentage of its highest paying players (i.e. "whales"), and that H.E. has a long history of not listening to its playerbase's concerns and criticisms, even going as far as to silence them and block them for speaking up. They do not care what you think. They care about money, first foremost and only. Be active and speak up, don't support their shitty business practices, but don't run yourselves into the ground in the process of doing so, because at the end of the day they will continue trucking along-- they are too big to fail.

I encourage everyone to direct their focus towards fan creators, and send them as much of your kindness and love as possible. Support the people who create things due to passion and love, not just for money. Enstars has been lacking passionate stories for a long time anyway, with only a handful every now and again. Everyone who creates anything, no matter their skill level, deserves compassion and support. And if you're someone who wants to create something but fears mediocrity, create it anyway. Every great artist was consistently mediocre until they grew enough in their skill to start producing some things they like.

Additionally, this is in no way the fault of the seiyuu, the employees of H.E. who are not in charge of making decisions for the story, or anyone else who isn't directly involved with the meat of what makes Enstars, Enstars. These people are not to blame. Direct your ire towards the writers, the executives, and anyone else who allows these decisions to pass.

kohaku's sister does not canonly have a name! iirc, akira commented on that with something along the lines of that it would diminish the impact of her actions if she had a name. but either way, some fans call her sakura because that's what niki referred to her as (sakura-neesan)

That's such a cute nickname! Honestly, I didn't know it was just a nickname. That's some incredible insight into Akira's thought process, though; does anyone have a link/image of where he said this?

Currently the only named NPC relatives are Konata (Kanata's younger brother), Maguro (Madara's younger sister), and Seiya (Hokuto's dad). Seiya and Konata are also the only relatives to be given a sprite (although Konata's is just reused from Kanata)

Subaru's father is simply referred to as "that Akehoshi"

There is a character is Matrix that uses the Hiiro's younger sprite (Takashi), but his relation to the Amagis isn't mentioned (afaik, possibly cousin?)

Interesting. I also remember something about Kohaku's family member using the same sprite as him? Was that individual named?

I’m curious if you have any information on the song “puka puka penguin”? All that I can find is that it was posted on twitter 2015 ish and is since deleted. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nsuGuZ-4N4A Is one of the only links I can find to the song itself+soundcloud reuploads but it’s still kind of a mystery of like what it’s for and stuff.

It appears as though this is the theme song (?) to Nishiyama Koutarou no Sukoyaka na Bokura (SukoBoku), the sister show to Eguchi Takuya no Oretachi Datte Iyasaretai! and released some time close to Enstars!'s release (within about a year? most if not all of the sources I find are from 2016, and I've only found resources on sukoboku starting from 2016, but many claim this to be released in 2015? i am confused).

While this is not an official enstars song to my knowledge, it is still sung in a similar vocal style to Kanata and is clearly meant to emulate him.

If anyone else has any more information, let me know!

Idk if you covered this but in the mv room tatsumi shifts his weight to his left while standing due to his injury. enstarsrefs made a good post demonstrating it.

Viewing and rotating him quickly before the majority of his intro animation plays, this appears to be accurate. As he rotates, he also seems to be moving his right leg very little and is placing most of his weight on his left (evidenced by his left knee being bent).

If anyone has the enstarsrefs post, I'd love to reblog it, too!
