Right Back To The Beginning

It’s been a few months since I posted and I’m still not ready to do daily posts but I’m going to try to do a few a week starting with this shot from Hookman.

The manly sheen is enough to make anyone swoon, we all know this, but I especially love the light focused so directly on Dean’s features highlighting his forehead, cheeks, and chin rather than a single focus on the eyes. The angle of his stance is so strong and perfectly aligns with his jawline. As for the background, the bright red of the cross and midnight blue of the window are a muted pleasure for the eye to glance across in relation to the in focus figure of Dean.

Sorrowful Saturday

In mirror to my last Saturday’s post after a week of a respect hiatus I have chosen this screenshot of Dean hugging Bobby. This is one of my favorite episodes and I really love the way the light falls on Dean’s face and the strong details in his hands. The outside light is a lovely flood making the eyes bounce over the frame from corner to corner. This will be my last post for a while because of technical issues.

Cas, Cast, and Past Sunday

Castiel’s expression is my favorite thing about this screencap. I do really love the background with the buildings and the contrast of their business attire but Castiel’s expression is priceless and beautiful.

Sorrowful Saturday

This scene as a whole was beautiful but this frame has so much solace. I just love the way Dean grips Sam with an outstretched hand despite the scraped from digging himself out of his own grave and the soft expression on his face just screams that he’s home in his brother’s arms. The added touch of Sam’s wet hair is also very nice and adds a level to the shot.

Frustration and Family Friday

Ah Dean Smith. Because what’s more frustrating than a 9 to 5? I am just amazed by the clothing in this shot. those suspenders along almost steal the shot from Dean’s beautiful features and the back lighting is so nice. I love shots in alternate realities or different times because they really allow the light to flood in so much more in these shots.

Dean Winchester Thursday

This solo cap of Dean is really simplistic but lovely. The toned down greens and reds really create the perfect distanced backdrop for Dean being the only focus. I really appreciate the light stubble especially on his top lip and the questioning look in his eyes paired with pursed lips and don’t get me started on how fluffy his hair looks.

Winchester Wednesday

Looking at this screencap makes me shiver. The building in the background shrouded by the lovely drooping tree is ominous and the pale sky peaking through on either side created a bit of symmetry to the asymmetrical shot. I really love the way the red on the building bleeds through the leaves and how you can’t help but bounce back and forth between the two lovely Winchester boys.

Sam Winchester Tuesday

This shot is so perfect. Even though it has the same monotone grey/blue scale of color the shadows along the side of Sam’s face and down his features to his throat are worth a second glance. I just want to take a moment to appreciate Sam’s partially open lips showing those beautiful front teeth and his neatly brushed sideburns not to mention the way his two beauty marks look overly accentuated by the shadows.

Melodrama Monday

Lets start Monday off right with a lovely picture filled with oozing melodrama as we see Dean concerned for Castiel. I love the old power plant they used for this scene and really appreciate the obvious POWER above Dean’s arm as well as the flushed brown tones. Anyone else happy the striped tie is somewhat hidden in the disheveled mess of Castiel’s clothes? And that slight peek of the red flannel from Dean’s canvas coat is a lovely eye catcher.

Cas, Cast, and Past Sunday

Her’es a shot of Dean and Castiel from season 11. I really enjoyed watching this scene because I was so fascinated by the scene outside of the window and the way that Dean was sitting while driving. I guess I never really paid attention before but everything about this scene screams that Dean is relaxed and comfortable and the colors in this shot are fairly unique to the usual Supernatural aesthetic.

Sorrowful Saturday

Oh. Pouty face. Lookit that lip. Let me get it? *clears throat* sorry... This screencap of Dean is lovely because it shows the thought process and the sadness in his eyes. I love the blue tones of Purgarory too because it’s a change form the usual coloration and darkness in the show.

Frustration and Family Friday

For a change of pace on the spectrum of family I’ve chosen this cap of Kevin and his mom getting their anti-possession tattoos. I really love the mother/son dynamic here and how she was perfectly okay getting a tattoo but he was in pain. The costuming on Mrs. Tran especially is fanominal by the way. Just look at those cute little heels.

Dean Winchester Thursday

The use of shadows in this frame is quite lovely. I love the blue tone of the shot and how Dean’s red shirt appears purple in the lighting. That strong gaze of frustration and locked jaw really wrap the shot up intensely and even though he’s off center to the blurry figures your eye instantly locks on Dean.

Winchester Wednesday

I look at this shot and instantly know it’s from season 7 from the jacket Dean is wearing. Aside from the piece of leather that ‘vanishes’ in purgatory, this shot is unique and lovely because Sam is closer to the camera yet he’s blurred and Dean is the one in focus with a brilliant backlight from the candles.

Sam Winchester Tuesday

Look at that lovely pop of red off to the side of this shot and the concrete on either side of the offcenter Sam leading to the trees in the distance. This shot was mostly chosen for the pops of color.

Melodrama Monday

Every scene in purgatory has a little melodrama in it. I love the intensity on Dean’s face and the way Benny’s out of focus nonchalantly standing in the background. Also, all purgatory shots are on a lovely grey scale. Sorry this post is so late but I was heading home from Animazement.
