Integrity Takes Effort
February 15, 2025
"You shall not steal." God Exodus 20:15
While we may not steal cars, jewelry, or flat screen TVs, is it possible we can steal from others and not even realize it?
Stealing is not just material but also time, also opportunity, also chances. It is also displayed in other forms.
As the saying goes, "Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." Be wise with our heart.

Stop Staring, Start Praying
February 14, 2025
"You shall not commit adultery." ~ God
Exodus 20:14
Adultery is a scourge to Christian men and rampant in the church. Yes...adultery.
God is clear and Jesus made it real when He said, "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
If we have looked at porn and we are married... this means we committed adultery. If we have gazed longingly at "her" and imagined things... and we are married... this means we commited adultery.
God laid down the law, Jesus drilled it down to the heart. Pray to unleash healing in everyone's hearts. Don't judge - just pray and pray hard today.

Check the Heart
February 13, 2025
"You shall not murder." ~ God
Exodus 20:13
Clear, concise, and to the point. It shouldn't need to be explained. However, Jesus gave us clarification on the matter, he said,
"I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca, (idiot)’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell." - Jesus Christ
Your words reflect your heart. Harmless insults can be venom. Crude talk and jokes made at the expense of another person are flaming arrows.
Examine our heart by listening to the words we use about others or ourself.

One Day at a Time
February 12, 2025
But I pray to you, Lord in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation.
Psalm 69:13
Some days don't turn out as we hoped or planned. And there are times when it seems the darkness just will not leave. In this time, pray to God with the expectation of salvation.
We can't dictate how God will deliver us, just trust Him and grab hold of what He puts in our hands each day.
Name our biggest trouble and ask God to show us the path forward - then wait and be watchful.

Making our Life Count
February 11, 2025
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. - God
Exodus 20:12
A life well lived... that is how we honor our father and mother.
Maybe we had a difficult childhood with a missing father or mother. Live our life well and honor God - our one true Father.
Regardless of our past, we are here today because we were given life by a man and woman.
It is up to us to honor our existence by striving to honor God.
Honor our father and mother by becoming the powerful man God designed us to be. Live this life well. Stand on our own two feet. No excuses - only opportunities.

What Are You Saying?
February 10, 2025
“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."
God Exodus 20:7
Approaching God is a powerful, holy, reverent, and humbling honor.
Using God's name in vain signals that the heart is far from Him.
Your words are the microphone of your heart. They amplify your true self. A transformed life speaks life.

Crushing Idols
February 9, 2025
"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below." ~God
Exodus 20:4
God is serious about being in first place. This isn't an option, but a requirement of being Christian.
When we turn our back to God and chase cheap idols, we invite hell and chaos into our life.
Can those cheap idols forgive us? Give us eternal hope? Nope. They destroy us --- they are weak and can't save us.
Take an inventory of anything we have created which kicks God down the ladder. Name them - then crush them.

What Does God Expect?
February 8, 2025
"You shall have no other gods before me."-God
Exodus 20:3
All of creation bows to God and points to His glory.
Some men attempt to replace God with things such as pride, money, work, or even other people. God cannot be replaced.
Today, examine anything which takes a higher seat in our life including our thoughts, and pursuits.
Pause and ask, "Am I elevating other gods above, GOD?" If the answer is yes, then ask God to show us how to move them down the ladder.

Be Authentic
February 7, 2025
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13
Being a Christian doesn't require a special education and we don't have to be perfect. God takes us just as we are.
What does God asks of us in return is a commitment to Love Him and Love others - and to share our story of how God is changing us.
Get into a position to love God and love others.

The Main Purpose of Ministry
February 6, 2025
We are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Hebrews 10:39
Don’t look at the temporary cost of love, and shrink back from confidence in God’s infinitely superior promises. If we shrink back, not only will we lose out on the promises; we will be destroyed.
Hell is at stake in whether we shrink back or persevere. It’s not just the loss of a few extra rewards that hangs in the balance. Hebrews 10:39 says, “We are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed.” That is eternal judgment.
So, we warn each other: Don’t drift away. Don’t love the world. Don’t start thinking nothing huge is at stake. Fear the terrible prospect of not cherishing the promises of God above the promises of sin. As Hebrews 3:13–14 says, “Exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.”
But mainly we must focus on the preciousness of the promises and help each other value above all things how great the reward is that Christ has purchased for us. We must say to each other what Hebrews 10:35 says: “Do not throw away our confidence, which has a great reward.” And then we must help each other see the greatness of the reward.
That is the main task of preaching, and the main purpose of small groups and all the ministries of the church: helping people see the greatness of what Christ has purchased for everyone who will value it above the world. Helping people see it and savor it, so that God’s superior worth shines in their satisfaction and in the sacrifices that come from such a heart.

What Will They Remember About You?
February 5, 2025
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 1:4
How we handle our life will impact, shape, and influence those who come after us.
Every word, action, and decision does matter. Your work, career, and intentions will rust and fade - but the way we love and live will be planted in those we influence daily.
Strive to be remembered as the leader of our family and community.
Think about our decisions, words, and actions over the last few days. What parts can we celebrate as part of our influence and legacy?

Practice With Purpose
February 4, 2025
Athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.
2 Timothy 2:5
A man who doesn't know the rules is destined to break the rules. Ignorance is no excuse of the law.
God calls us to the playing field of life every day.
He gives us the rules and the playbook. He expects excellence and asks us to give 100% on every play.
Men who practice hard are prepared for the daily game.

When Bad News Arrives
February 3, 2025
Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.
They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”
When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.
Nehemiah 1: 2-4
Unexpected news will come. Sometimes it comes as a pleasant surprise while other times the news rocks us to the core.
Nehemiah heard something he couldn't deal with right away. So he sat down and fell apart. He mourned the news, fasted and prayed. But... what happened next is powerful. He got up and went into action.
God equipped Nehemiah to take action, but Nehemiah went to God before making a bold move. Remember this when we are surprised by unexpected news.
Get equipped with solid instruction from God. Then get up and go with a plan.

Live Like A Free Man
February 2, 2025
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Listen up! There is nothing we can do to make God love us less. Nothing.
How can a man not wake up with the confidence of kings when he knows the creator of the universe is rooting for him?
We do know that God only wants greatness for His children - right?
Of course we will make mistakes. Yes, we will struggle with sin. But there is nothing we can do to make God love us less. Nothing.
If there is a single part of our life in which we feel separated from God, we must talk with God about it right now.

Joy Cannot Be Stolen
February 1, 2025
All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.
Proverbs 15:15
Joy cannot be stolen, but we can choose to give it away.
Each day, we get to choose how we respond and live in God's amazing creation. We can decide to live "afflicted" or live "effective".
We can't control the world or the bad stuff happening around us. But we can control how we respond to difficulty.
We are in charge of our attitude. Joy is a decision - no matter the circumstance.
Ask God to help us turn toward joy and away from the circumstances which keep joy out of reach.

Get Past That Unforgiven Feeling
January 31, 2025
He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103: 10-12
After asking God to forgive our mistakes, It's tempting to grab the sin and drag it back into our life.We can carelessly skip one critical step... we must forgive ourselves.
If God has cast our sin as far as the east is from the west... then so should we. Stop dwelling on the mistakes and start living like a man who has been set free!
In order to move on... we MUST leave those things at God's footstool and we must forgive ourself. Christ did not die in vain, but to give us freedom. Accept it.

Being a Pure Man
January 30, 2025
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Faith isn't about the church buildings or how many bible verses we know by heart. It's how we intentionally apply your love and God's love to the people around you that matters.
We serve because of our faith -- not to earn faith. Practice a faith which carries out God's command to love Him first, and then love others.
