Defend The Defenseless
November 5, 2024
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. -
Psalm 82: 3-4
If we have the ability to read and do stuffs like drinking coffee, we have enough resources to help our neighbor.
It's not enough to pray for them and wish them well. The book of James tells us to get into action and do something about it if we want to demonstrate our faith.
Put our faith into action today. Defend the defenseless - they need our strength.

Refill Our Life with Living Water
November 4, 2024
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
Matthew 5: 6
Our bodies require food and water... without them, we die. When hunger overtakes us and our mouths are parched, nothing else matters but satisfying those basic needs of life.
Our soul is like that. When we miss our time with God and ignore the basic food of faith we can run the risk of killing our righteousness and dimming our faith. We die inside and rot with sin.
When our soul is thristy and our life feels hungry for something more fulfilling. Seek God daily through prayer, gratitude, and scripture...we will be fed and full.
In a season of doubt and frustration? In a patch of worry and anxiety? Dig into God's word and pray. We will be re-filled.

Repairing our Confidence
November 3, 2024
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God.
1 John 3: 21
Do we ever find ourself feeling "not good enough" or comparing ourself to an impossible standard?
Perhaps we have short-circuited God's grace. Here is a simple test to find out:
When we make a mistake and ask God for forgiveness, do we forgive ourself and move on -- or do we continue to keep asking God again and again?
Refusing to forigve ourself is a doorway to shame. It's a powerful tool used by the enemy to make us doubt our hearts.
Confidence before God begins in our heart. If we are ready to stand tall again, then accept our imperfections and forgive ourself for the mess-ups and move forward.

What Are We Seeking?
November 2, 2024
Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
What answers are we seeking? Have we asked questions such as, "What is my purpose? Why am I here? How do I follow Christ?"
If we can't seem to find the answers, set those questions aside and focus on helping someone else find their answers.
May we walk in the footprints of Jesus Christ. Stand up for our faith. Feed the children, the hungry, and the homeless. Clothe the poor, the weary, and the downtrodden. Shelter the rejected, the beaten, and the widows.
When we meet someone else's need, we tend to find the answers to our deepest questions about ourselves.

Friends Who Sticks
November 1, 2024
Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man’s friend deserts him.
Proverbs 19:4
As men, so many of our “friendships” are based around the people at our workplace, and work comes down to one thing – money. The need for it and ways to get more of it. Most guys consider their work-friends as close friends.
Ever wonder how many of our work friends would stick around if we lost our job?
Work friends are great! However, make sure we spend time cultivating connections which will stick with us no matter the job.

In the Right Place at the Right Time
October 31, 2024
Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 90: 1-2
God was... is... and always will be. Just as He was present in the beginning, present with Abraham, present with Moses, David, and every unknown man ever to have lived before us.
God is present with us now and focused on OUR life.
We are in the right place at the right time for God's purpose. So why not Ask for God's wisdom for us in this moment?
Now trust Him to deliver it.

Dealing With Those Attacking Us
October 30, 2024
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
Romans 12:17
So we took a sucker punch? Blindsided by that comment? Stabbed in the back by our co-worker?
Did that "low-life" break into our life and steal our peace?
How will we respond?
Repaying those people who wronged us by doing the same to them doesn't make us better, it makes us worse.
We should expect evil to treat us poorly. It's what evil does. God-driven men never stoop to the low level of evil. We get back up, we rise, and we demonstrate God's love and hope while becoming examples of Christ for our neighbors to follow.
Are we dealing with someone who seems to be on the attack?

Kindness Does Not Equal Weakness
October 29, 2024
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:20-21
Generosity confuses adversaries. It doesn't make sense that a man would offer to help someone who intends him harm. That is why it's so effective!
The ways of God runs against the grain of the world. If we truly want to overcome evil, then find a way to bring God into the room - inject Him into the conversation. Show God's love to those who are difficult to love.
Think of one enemy or adversary we face right now. How can we show kindness without showing weakness? Pray for them, serve them, greet them.

Toss Out The Fakes
October 28, 2024
When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. But the more they were called, the more they went away from me. They sacrificed to the Baals and they burned incense to images. It was I who taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the arms; but they did not realize it was I who healed them. I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love.
Hosea 11:1-4
The world flashes its shiny objects and we chase the world - as if it can offer hope, rescue our souls, or fill our empty spaces like a little god.
The world only offers cheap, impotent, strange toy gods -- like money, time, pride, greed, lust, power, food, etc.
Put away the toy gods and turn to the one and only God who knows us and loves us. Confess, repent, and find rest.

Changing our World
October 27, 2024
you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8
Faith is designed to be shared, not kept. When we are ready to live it, do it like Jesus describes.
Jesus gave us a 4 step growth model to help us break away from our comfort zone and spread His message of hope, love, grace, and freedom. This model can change our corner of the world.
Think of Jerusalem as the place where we are accepted and find the most comfort. Judea is the outer reaches of our acquaintences, and somewhat familiar areas. Samaria is where our enemies live and the places we wish didn't exist, and the rest of the world are the unexplored places, strangers, and unfamiliar parts of our world.

Looking For The Best In Others
October 26, 2024
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Romans 12:16
None of us chose to be born into this world. We didn't pick our race, our nationality, our culture, or our environment.
We are all born equal with the same basic need to be fed, sheltered, and loved.
With each passing day, evil works hard to separate us and divide us, while God works each day, calling us back to Him - unifying us by one spirit, one love, one hope.
No person has earned their life - it was given to them. Therefore, no one has any legitimate claim to look down on another life for any reason.
As God enters our life and our heart begins to beat more like God's heart - we learn to love first and serve others - daily.

Get Some Self Control
October 25, 2024
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Romans 12:14
Restraint. Self-Control.
When others are pouring hate on us, keep our focus on God's best for us instead of focusing on our disgust for them.
Yes, we may have a few salty words for that person when we blow off steam, but keep our mouth off their soul - it isn't our place or our job to curse them and wish them to hell.
Sometimes the best way to bless those who rail against us is to pray they find peace. Pray for our enemy right now - and release our self too.

You are a Whoever
October 24, 2024
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
John 3:16-17
When Jesus said these words, He said my name - and the name of every one we will see today. We are "whoevers".
Stop and take a long look in the mirror. Stare at the man Jesus sacrificed His life to save. Look into his eyes. We, my friend, are the world to God.
So, receive the blessing of forgiveness and hope from God almighty. Now, show others how to see their reflection in these words of Christ.

Letting Others Into Our World
October 23, 2024
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12
When things are going well, celebrate! When things are crappy, hang in there! In either circumstance - just keep talking to God.
Men have a tendency to close off access to their lives. Being open and vulnerable can often feel like a weakness or seem difficult to manage.
Take notice of the life of Christ, He lived the value of having close friends who celebrated and labored together.
If we want to get the most out this life, you'll have to let at few guys "in". Get connected. Stay faithful in prayer. It's a much better ride when we do.

Take Care of our Community
October 22, 2024
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10
It's much easier to honor and love our neighbor if we look for the best in them.
Faith in God is powerfully unique to each one of us as God meets us each where we are.
Today, do all we can to help our community of faith succeed! Advice is good, prayer is better, and serving is best!

Giving our worries to God
October 21, 2024
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. ~ Matthew 16:24
The hard truth about following Christ is that we have to get to the end of ourselves before we can see Him fully alive in us -- and that doesn't come easy.
There are no perfect Christians. We are simply ordinary believers who open our hands, release our grip, and allow God to take what doesn't belong and give us back what isn't deserved - grace and forgiveness.
Place our worry at the foot of the cross.
If we are living free and growing daily, be on the search for those around us who need to hear about God's grace.

God's Word Is Power
October 20, 2024
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4: 12
Jesus Christ is the WORD of God (John 1). Almighty God should never be limited just to written words on paper. God's WORD was spoken through the life, sacrifice, and example of himself in Jesus Christ.
Our savior, Jesus Christ, didn't die and live again so we could sit in a room and simply read about the good news. Yes, we receive God's written word as reverent encouragement - and we should embrace God's living WORD as power.
Want to win more often? Enter every room as a living representative of Jesus Christ, filled with power and light.
Wield our faith as a powerful instrument which easily divides light and dark - it will change our life.
