Scarlet decided that he needed the magic sweater this morning.

Let me tell you all a story about this sweater. This is my grandmother's. I've always loved it. It's the right amount of warm, soft, weight, and comfy. I've always loved it. But, the real magic of it has nothing to do with that. I have seen her wear this a million times. And every time, I was met with the warmest hugs imaginable. That woman is truly amazing. But, it doesn't stop there. When I was given said sweater, Mason was about 4 years old. There were many a times when he snuggled it in the car, and was always right off to sleep. He loves this sweater for the same reasons I do. Fast forward a few years. Scarlet has developed an attachment to it as well, but has yet to meet the remarkable woman that it belonged to. Last night, the only way that she would fall asleep is holding it like a teddy bear, and once she was peacefully sleeping, I draped it over her and she snuggled down deep. It's almost like all her love, all the warmth that is her personality, has soaked in to every fiber. Like all the yarn has acted like a sponge over the years to create the perfect comfort and physical representation of how deep love runs. It may just be a simple garment, but it means the world to my little family. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is absolutely amazing.

With Mason out of school all week, she has had her Bubby all the time. Well, he went to my parents' house until Sunday. She was lost without her big brother. And since it's just the two of us tonight, she was not a happy camper. So, we sat on the couch and played and watched My Little Pony. She zonked out whispering "Bubba" "Dada". So, I have decided not to disturb her, stack pillows beside her, and get to work getting this house party ready. It's hard to believe that we will be celebrating her first year on Sunday, and then the day after she will be one. Where does the time go?

When your daughter is trying relentlessly to stick her foot in your mouth while she nurses . When you tell her to stop, that it's rude and she just laughs and continues to try to tickle your epiglottis with her toes. 😳
