surprise  !!  I lied  !!  one last thing if you don’t think Gawain is more then willing to take the steps to try  &&  make up with Lancelot if nothing else then for Arthur then we didn’t read the same material  &&  idk what google page you found but That’s Just Fact.  no matter his own grudges Gawain is loyal to Arthur before anyone else  &&  if making up with Lancelot is enough to help mend some of what he blames himself for breaking then he will at least try to fix that gap.  Gawain is a lot of things but he’s not dense  &&  he’s not so selfish as to pretend otherwise

also as long as I’m here Gawain also is incredibly proud.  proud of who he is  &&  his heritage  &&  those he trusts  &&  to ignore those things in favor of jokes ain’t happening here.  I don’t know how many people have finished Camelot yet but there’s this one scene after you defeat him for the last time where Gawain says like “this is what I get for being an unfaithful knight”  &&  it really drives home his belief  (  in my mind  )  that the grudges of his past are what he blames on Arthur’s eventual demise.  he was so proud to be a knight  &&  sit in Arthur’s court  &&  that pride, while still incredibly present, is diluted in order to try  &&  make himself back into someone he can be  ??  idk if this makes sense but proud of that pride again.  Gawain has never been anyone but himself to the fullest extent  ---  he keeps his accent he stands by his choices even when they weren’t the best  ---  &&  that pride is so tied to his loyalty  &&  how he sees his place  &&  I am not about to start downplaying his own  (  although tampered  )  belief because Camelot out there saying Gawain is subservient to Agravain or something.  no matter how much Gawain loves  &&  is loyal to his brothers he’s not about to ditch his own pride in order to play by their rules; he literally gets into fights with his brothers in arthuriana enough to drive that point home  &&  dw can suck a dick

anyway theme of the night is I'm salty  &&  Gawain deserves better then people give him because he’s “the dumb one”  &&  “the one who sleeps around”  (  motions @ arthuriana miss me with that shit  )  &&  “just a big oaf” when his complexities lay in how he has come to learn from what he thought was true  &&  move on past his grudges for the betterment of those he is so fiercely loyal to  &&  that's the tea

this may be the stupidest thing I write on this blog since idk how I feel about it yet but I gotta verbalize this because I cannot for the life of me figure out what I’m trying to say so like while gawain did hate lancelot  &&  had this  ??  animosity that refused to budge at his death gawain forgave him  ??  and like idk whats up with this keeping gawain mad @ lance thing if he was forgiven  ??  like Im not saying gawain is all of a sudden his best friend  (  lmao thats not how it works  )  but I’m saying that he’d be polite  ??  like he’s learned to come to terms with what happened / his own forgiveness  (  even at the end of his life  )  so coming into the servant thing is some kinda wack new start where he’s not fully comfortable with lancelot but he’s not some kind of outwardly hostile person  ??  idk if im making sense but Im just imagining that thing you do when you havent talked with sb in eons  &&  youre playin like you know each other but its awakward as hell cause youre not sure how to approach them / etc cause the both of you arent the same but you won’t not be base friendly to each other since  1.  if you don’t hate sb why would you act it and  2.  like…  youre trying  ??  to be nice / civil / what have you to, I dont know, get to know your friend again  ??  even if youre still not fully comfortable with bein around them due to ~stuff~ but youre learning  ??  hnnnn…

I also just want to say if you came to this blog expecting a womanizer that’s not at all what you are going to get.  Gawain certainly isn’t against sleeping around or what have you  (  chaotic bisexual who loves people in his own way smh  )  but he also is respectful  &&  I’m tired of that narrative of a guy being nice = he wants sex.  especially since we have a whole ass story that can get broken down to  “Gawain turns a woman down for three days as she aggressively propositions him at every turn”  ---  just cause someone might sleep with a few people does not make them a sex fiend or whatever fanon is out there professing to the masses.  he’s going to be respectful to your muse  &&  while he may be a flirt it’s not with the intentions of “oh yeah I'm gonna sleep with that one” its playful  &&  friendly  &&  not out to get in someone’s pants.  I don’t really care if this isn’t your view of him I just ask you be respectful about it on this blog

aight I logged on here to baby meta  &&  so meta I shall.  a local bird wants to talk about Gawain  &&  the fact he’s not some stupid oaf because while I, too, love a good joke now  &&  again the gorilla joke is wearing me down because people out there believing its based on fact.

so anyway Gawain is not stupid.  what he is is someone who grew up in a situation entirely different from what a lot of people understand  &&  that’s had an effect on how he views  &&  interacts with the world around him.  for starters his upbringing left a lot to be desired.  Morgause was not a good mother in any sense  ---  Gawain  &&  his brothers grew up under her rather abusive care  &&  being the oldest he felt the need to protect his brothers from others  (  to note: they did not see issue with their mother in that sense  ).  his moral compass is skewed.  I cannot stress this enough  !!  Gawain does not hold our sense of right  &&  wrong, especially under his own power.  &&  no matter how much that arrow doesn’t point north it doesn’t make him a bad person, it doesn’t make him a dumb one.  the biggest thing I see around,  &&  I get it’s because of some of his in game dialogue, is the fact he’s oblivious to some things.  I see people translating that to mean oblivious in all senses of the word.  his own obliviousness is a direct result of his upbringing  &&  how he then perceives people / problems.  I’m not sure I’m making the most sense but what I want to get at is just because there are some things to us that seem so simple due to a commonality in our understanding of things does not mean everyone holds that same belief / understanding  &&  Gawain is certainly one of those characters that hasn’t shaken the dredges of his mother’s influence on his upbringing  &&  so his interactions with just about anything are going to reflect that
