its a joke but- fun fact about me- back in highschool I had surgery on both my legs. At the same time.
When I woke up from anesthesia I started pushing myself out of bed like “oh hey, no worries I dont want to be any trouble- ill just put my pants and shoes back on myself.” To which the two nurses nearby were like “absolutely not sit back down you are not allowed off the bed”.
This was the first time something this happened, for sure, but I assure you it was not the last. Something about going under brings out the people pleaser in me big time haha
#Ive decided im using my personal sideblog more#because i have too much lore to keep to myself#also bc its fun

Putting this on my more personal blog but, saying that the only people who don't like the word queer are cys transphobes is straight up false.
For a very long time “queer” was used as a derogatory like “gay” was in the early 2000s. It was a word used to vilify and wound people, and many elders in the LGBTQIA+ community still have memories of suffering horrible physical and verbal abuse while having that word flung at them.
This does not mean the word cannot be reclaimed- and the younger generations absolutely have- but newer generations adoption of the word does not immediately override the trauma of the generations preceding them.
Enough of our history has been lost to time-erased by those who viewed our community thought a lens of hate- and that erasure creates misunderstandings like this.
By saying that only transphobes are against using the word “queer”, you are placing a horrible accusation onto individuals who lay the foundations of the LGBTQIA+ community. There may be transphobes among them, but the avoidance of that word doesn't mean they inherently are.
#lgbtqia#queer community#pride#Out life expereinces are different#that doesn’t mean one is better than the other#Its so important to know our history#so we can honor those who came before#and grow as we move into the future
