polysquary : day 11 / matching outfits

akian - 287 words

akito and an go shopping. an gets an idea.

Akito sighed as An dragged him through the mall. She’d been wanting to go shopping but couldn’t find anyone else to go with her. Akito had mistakenly agreed, now he’d be carrying around her bags. No matter who he went shopping with, he always got stuck on bag carrying duty.

An led him into another clothing store, the third or fourth one of that day. She’d just been looking for new outfits, as if her closet wasn’t already stuffed to the brim.

“Hey, Akito.” An poked him in the side.

“What is it?” Akito looked at her.

“We should get matching outfits.” An smirked and brought him further into the store.

“No way. That’s cringe.” 

“Did you really just say that?”

“Yeah, so what?”

An sighed and continued to plead with Akito. “Come on! It’d be cute.”

Akito’s face tinted red, he was going to give in. He knew it’d happen. “No, An. I don’t need anymore clothes. Why do you wanna match with me of all people? You could match with Kohane, or Toya.”

“But I’m asking you. Come on!” An leaned against him.

“Oh my god. Fine. If it’s what you want.” Akito started to walk away.

“Hey!” An chuckled and followed her boyfriend.

“Oh. An, is that a new sweatshirt?” Mizuki asked as the two headed out for the café they’d be eating lunch at.

“Yeah. It is. I didn’t think you’d notice.” An chuckled.

“It doesn’t seem like your usual style.” Mizuki pointed out.

“Well, to tell you the truth, Akito picked it out for me.” An pulled out her cellphone and found a specific photo. “We’re matching.”

“He agreed to that?” Mizuki giggled at the photo. “You two are so cute.”

polysquary : day 10 / gift

toyahane / kohatoya - 331 words

kohane made toya a gift for his birthday. she hopes he likes it.

Kohane sat at the park bench, waiting for Toya to arrive for their date. She had picked out quite the nice gift for his birthday if you asked her. She held the box tightly in her hands as she looked up to see Toya approaching her.

“Toya! It’s good to see you!” Kohane stood up, still gripping the box as if it was her lifeline.

“It’s good to see you too, Kohane.” Toya pressed a kiss to her cheek. Kohane flushed red and turned away, he was getting bolder each and every day. “Sorry, if I’m late, I had committee duties to attend to.”

“Oh, no! You’re fine, Toya…” Kohane chuckled. “Before we get started, I um… actually got something for you. Since it’s your birthday…”

Kohane held the gift out for Toya to take. As she looked down at the ground, she felt a little bit pathetic for not even being able to face her boyfriend as she gave him his gift. She knew he wouldn’t mind, but she got wrapped up in her own feelings. 

“Thank you.” Toya took the gift from her trembling hands.

Toya took a minute to admire the wrapping, she really had done a spectacular job with it. His excitement showed on his face through the form of a slight smile. He delicately unwrapped the wrapping paper around the small box. When it was unwrapped, he opened the box. Inside, there was a pair of earrings, each had five gems all in different colors. On one, the order went hot pink, a lighter pink, cyan, orange, and a dark blue. The other earring had those same colors in the opposite order.

Toya smiled as he closed the box and hugged Kohane. “Thank you. Those earrings are really pretty.”

Kohane smiled, all her nervous energy before was mostly gone. “I’m glad you like them. An and I made them when we went to this class a while back.”

Toya kissed her cheek. “Thank you so much.”

polysquary : day 9 / over rad squad!

polysquad - 288 words

vivid bad squad surpasses rad weekend.

An threw herself at Kohane the moment they were backstage. Kohane was not surprised, she caught An and stabilized herself easily. Akito chuckled as he watched the girls. They had just performed the show of their life and An still had that much energy.

“Kohane! You were so amazing! Everyone did such a good job!” An kissed Kohane’s cheek. “You looked so pretty out there.”

Kohane chuckled, hugging An tightly. “You were also amazing out there. Amazing and gorgeous.”

Akito leaned into Toya as they stood next to the girls. “You two are dorks.”

“Oh, shut up! You know you’re just as excited as I am.” An got off of Kohane to jump onto Akito.

“Woah!” Akito exclaimed as he caught An. “Could’ve warned a guy.”

An snuggled into Akito. “Shut up.”

Kohane giggled as she watched. Toya smiled at the two. Kohane grabbed Toya’s hand, she brought his hand up her face and kissed his knuckles.

“You did good out there.” Toya’s face turned red as he complimented Kohane.

“I couldn’t do it without you all.” Kohane grinned. “We did it.”

Akito and An walked over to the other half of their polycule. An pulled Kohane and Toya closer to them. An smiled at them all.

“We did it. I can’t believe we did it.” An held her partners as close as she could.

“That was amazing.” Akito pressed a kiss to An’s cheek.

The four relished in their moment for a moment longer. 

“You guys are amazing. I love you all so much…” Kohane admitted. She hugged her teammates close to her.

“We love you too.” Akito smiled.

An and Toya nodded in agreement.

“It’s only gonna get better from here on out.” An said proudly.

polysquary : day 8 / festival

antoya - 380 words

an and toya spend time together under the christmas lights.

An grabbed Toya’s hand and threaded their fingers together. She dragged him further down the alley of stalls. An glanced around, the Christmas lights shone brilliantly. She loved Christmas so much, and here she was trying to share some of that joy with her quietest partner. She knew Toya never really had a proper childhood in the ways Akito, Kohane, and herself had. 

She walked with Toya as they eyed all the different stalls. She watched his face, seeing if there was anything that specifically caught his eye, and as they walked, Toya was entranced by the numerous cookies in a display. 

“Do you want to go look at those cookies?” An asked.

“Oh, sure.” Toya nods. 

An dragged him toward the display. As they approached they noticed the many different kinds of cookies. There were sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate chip cookies, and many others. Some of them were even decorated.

“Oh! Look at those Toya!” An pointed to some cookies that were decorated as little books. “Those are pretty cute.”

Toya nodded. “Maybe we could get some cookies for our meet up with Kohane and Akito tomorrow.”

“Oh yeah! I’m sure they’d appreciate it!” An nodded enthusiastically. “Especially since Akito has such a sweet tooth.”

Toya smiled. The two picked out their cookies and bought them for the meet up tomorrow.

Toya and An continued walking for a while. The two stopped in front of the giant Christmas tree in the middle of the plaza the festival was based around. An leaned her head against Toya’s shoulder. She looked up at Toya.

“You look pretty in the lights.” An smiled. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed Toya on the cheek.

Toya’s cheeks turned red. Well, more red than they had been because of the cold. “You look gorgeous.” 

An chuckled. She moved to stand in front of him. She grabbed his scarf and pulled him down to her level. She looked into his eyes, taking in his beauty. She pulled him in closer and kissed him passionately underneath the lights. Toya was a little flustered at first, but his hands moved to hold her waist.

“I love you, Toya.” An beamed, she rested her head against his chest as he stood up properly.

“I love you too, An.”

polysquary : day 7 / unit swap

polysquad - 358 words

vivid bad squad goes to phoenix wonderland. they get dragged into wonderlands x showtime's next show.

“Come on! Let’s go see the show!” Kohane pulled Toya’s hand as An and Akito followed their quieter partners. 

Kohane had dragged the other three to Phoenix Wonderland to see a Wonderlands x Showtime show. Kohane had known about the new show for a while, she just hadn’t had time to see it. Naturally, since the four of them had a free weekend, Kohane would bring along her teammates. An and Toya agreed rather easily, Akito, however, wasn’t the most willing. Akito would end up reluctantly agreeing at the sight of Kohane’s puppy dog eyes. Kohane found them seats to watch the show and they would watch the whole show with the occasional complaint from Akito.

After the show was over, Kohane brought them along to go talk to Wonderlands x Showtime. She’d wanted to talk to Emu and she was sure Toya would appreciate getting to talk to Tsukasa. An and Akito weren’t the most willing but they knew how happy it would make their partners.

And they had a nice conversation for a while, until Rui said something. “It would be quite interesting to see you all try to perform a show like this, no?”

“Huh?” Akito’s face morphed into a frown.

“That would be so super duper sparkly!” Emu exclaimed.

“No. No way.” Akito scowled.

“Oh, shut up. We all know you’re a closeted theatre kid.” An poked Akito in the side as she teased him.

Akito sputtered. “So what? That doesn’t mean I want to do a show!”

“I think it could be a beneficial experience to our unity as a team.” Toya smiled.

An smirked. “Yeah, Akito. Toya says it’d be fun.”

Kohane smiled as her partners talked it out. She thought it’d genuinely be fun if they got to practice and perform a show like Wonderlands x Showtime does.

“If you guys are curious I’m sure it could be arranged.” Rui smiled. “Maybe we’ll even get you in our next show.”

Kohane and Toya both nodded, eagerly agreeing. 

“Well, how about you show up for our next practice on Tuesday?”

Akito and An sighed, there was no getting away from this one.

polysquary : day 6 / cinema

akitoya - 290 words

(post stray bad dogs) akito's mind is still on arata. toya tries to talk to him.

Akito sat in WEEKEND GARAGE with Toya waiting for An and Kohane to show up. They had recently performed at a live house against Arata, which came out as a draw. But Akito knew he’d need to keep practicing to keep up with his teammates. However, after his little fiasco, they were keeping tabs on him, they became more interested in his practice habits.

Akito sipped on his drink and took a bite out of his pancakes. He was still rather deep in thought about the past month, just thinking about it all.

“-ito.” A hand on his shoulder. “Akito.”

Akito looked at the source of the hand. It was just Toya, who else would it be. “Hi, Toya.”

“What are you thinking about?” Toya’s hand moved down Akito’s shoulder to take his hand.

“Nothing much.” Akito smiled at his partner’s concern.

“You sure? You make a certain face when you’re deep in thought.” 

“Nothing, I promise. I’d tell you if something was up.” Akito assured his partner. Though Akito knew he was lying, he just hoped Toya couldn’t tell.

Toya sighed. “Fine. You better tell me if something is bugging you.”

Akito leaned against Toya’s shoulder. He was still thinking about the past month, how everything has changed. How he promised to be more open with them. He was unsure whether he’d live up to that promise, but he’d try. He’d try for them.

“We’re planning on studying when An and Kohane arrive.” Toya informed Akito of the plan.

“Eugh. Really?” Akito grumbled once he learned that.

“We want you and An to do well.”

It was nice to know his teammates cared for him, but he’d rather they cared less. At least less in the regards of studying.
