Sucker Punch RP! JOINNNN!

Welcome to Lennox House for the Mentally Insane. It is a prison here, you can not escape. You are allowed out only 2 hours a day for fresh air. The worst of the states women were sent here either because they disagreed their husband or were unruly. Some women here are prostitutes others are teachers, secretaries and housewives. One simple phone call and you are on your one way trip to Lennox. The only way to survive is to dance, every girl here is given a specific day to dance, if they don’t please the audience they shall be exterminated immediately. Every girl also has a quota to meet up to. 3 clients a week, if not they are also handled with immediately. Girls with specific clients don’t need to fulfill their quota. The workers here are disrespectful to the girls, some people here actually care for them but try not to show it because of Blue. The living space is disgusting the food isn’t any better. The only way to not feel like you’re in hell is to live in a fantasy.

OOC Name/Age: Amy/14 Character desired:  Kitty Face Claim: Isabelle Fuhrman Age of Character: 17 Timezone: EST Activity level:  Active-9/10 Any questions about the characters:  Nope Bio:  Kitty's not a new face at Lennox house for the Mentally Insane by any means. She's been there for quite a while, having been thrown out of the house and taken there by a concerned Aunt. Little Kitty has never been normal. As a child, she would speak to  "imaginary friends," as she liked to call them. Later, it was found out by an exorcism expert that these so-called friends were spirits that were supposedly dwelling in the house. Terrified of what their daughter had become, Kitty's parents sent her off to her Aunt's house. The dark haired girl was shaken and frightened. This caused her to have violent outbursts, which was the icing on the cake for her Aunt. She had been toying with the idea of sending unfortunate little Kitty to Lennox for quite some time, and the rages the girl'd do made the decision final. Kitty is bitter, and cold, and being forced to dance is not something she enjoys whatsoever. When the other girls are socializing, Kitty can be found sitting in a corner, talking to herself, or staring off at nothing in particular. It's said that she is one of the more mentally unstable inhabitants at Lennox, but Kitty begs to differ.  Writing Sample (at least 3 paragraphs): 

Velvet stood barefoot on the wooden tailoring stool as her mother fussed over her, straightening her flowered skirts and buttoning the lace collar up around her slight shoulders. She adjusted the lilac ribbon in her sunny hair, which fell down her back in two long braids. With a flourish, she spun her around to face the carefully polished oval mirror hanging by the door.

     Velvet gasped. She did look beautiful. On any other occasion, she would have thrown open her arms and sang with delight. But not today. She suspected this year’s would be a particularly difficult reaping, because it was only her mother and her now. Her father’s life had been taken weeks ago by the Peacekeepers, after he tried to stop them from punishing a boy for unknowingly crossing over the boundaries of District Eight.  In response to his kindness, they both were killed.

     Instead, Velvet rearranged her features in what she desperately hoped was a smile and clasped her mother’s hand. They were white bony with hunger and they shook slightly from hours upon hours of needlework.  She kissed her mother’s cheek gently and left, and the bell above the door of the dress shop tinkled merrily. 

     She stood with the fourteens. Velvet waved at her best friend then joined her after registering.

     The familiarly dreaded ping ping of clunky heels on metal rang out over the audience, raising a collective silence as everyone’s breath caught. Yinani. The eccentric escort trotted onto the stage clad in a mint green beehive wig and twin spots of rouge on her cheeks, belting out her signature, “Happy Hunger Games!” She giggled girlishly and began to speak. Velvet let her mind wander, fingering absentmindedly at a spool of violet thread in her dress pocket. Then the screen rolled down, and the movie showed.  “And now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Our tributes!” Velvet and her best friend were squeezing eachother’s hand.

     “Ladies first?” Yinani’s overly adorned hand plummeted to the very bottom of the glass bowl, and she slowly selected a small slip of paper. A thousand girls stopped breathing.

     “Velvet Sewell!”

     It couldn’t be. No.  It would be over soon. She often had dreams like this. But then she would wake up and in the kitchen would be her mother making biscuits and blackberry jelly, and they would sit and the breakfast table and laugh. Nightmare, that’s all.

     But soon the realization dawned on Velvet that this was no nightmare as she stood all alone on the vast expanse of the stage, before an endless sea of relieved faces.

Yinani already had another piece of paper in her hand, in which she was waiting to read aloud. She seemed very satisfied to have all of this control. “Tailor….!”

A boy no older than 16 walked up to the stage without too much hesitation. His emotion was difficult to read, but he almost seemed content. Velvet noticed his burning emerald eyes and spiky raven hair that swept down across his eyes. His eyes remained trained on her for the longest time, and then she realized his hand was outstretched. She quickly shook it, too numb to be embarrassed.

     Yinani twirled in delight. “And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen of District Eight! The tributes of the annual 74th Hunger Games!” She grabbed both of their hands in each of her own.

Billy Davis | Age: 25 | Occupation at Lennox: Guard | Faceclaim: Iwan Rheon

Billy is a very awkward person around. Many of the things he says are off-putting. He always says the wrong things at the wrong time. People aren't his cup of tea at all. He tries his best to seem normal and alright but on the inside his mind is weird and demented. The girls don't even talk to him, whenever he does make conversation its awkward. Blue hired Billy mainly for his strength and his lack of social skills. The last time there was a fight he told the girls "good luck" before. His choice of words are never the best.

Kenneth Gilmore | Age: 21 | Occupation at Lennox: Guard | Faceclaim: Aaron Johnson 

Kenneth is a careless guard, he lets the girls do whatever they want as long as they don't bother him. He doesn't flow with the rest  of the guards and workers here at Lennox. Its almost as if he's in a complete different world half the time. He's always staring out windows and thinking about things. The only reason he's working here is the good pay, he has to support his little sister. He's afraid if he leaves here that Blue will take her away from him. He has been taking care of his little sister ever since his parents died 2 years ago in a tragic car accident. If anything were to happen to her he would go crazy. He is always calm and collected, even when the girls have a fight or Blue has an outburst.
