Tbh part of what makes Lower Decks so good is the way it makes being in Starfleet feel like an actual job. Like yeah maybe high energy space adventures are fun, but sometimes you're tired and hung over, and you just broke up with your girlfriend a week ago, and no matter how cool your job is you still didn't want to show up to work that morning

And then Abraham Fucking Lincoln appears in the void of space.

Like on God, I would just quit. These characters are all so much braver than I am.
