I wonder from where so many Americans get the idea that voting is supposed to be some expression of your deepest, most beloved values and virtues rather than a pragmatic, political move meant to shift your country as much closer to your ideal as possible. This strikes me as another example of extreme individualism. Voting isn’t about *you*. It’s about your city, state, and/or country. It doesn’t have to feel transcendently good deep down in your bones. It just has to *do* as much good as you can do, in this particular moment in time.

This scene is fine on its own, but in the context of the episode it’s so great. Because for a moment there’s the prospect of real danger, of really losing control. It doesn’t take much to knock the spinning top off balance. Their attitude might spread.
And then Chakotay strolls in. ‘oh you think it’s going to be that way, do you? Let me show you the way it’s going to be.’
It highlights how important Chakotay was. How things could have been disastrous without a united front. How he held a chunk of the crew in his hand. How so much hinged on him not being a dick and choosing to support Janeway and hold the ship together.

Spookiest
I just LOVE handing out Halloween candy. The kids ask for the candy, but beam when I acknowledge their costumes...
Yes, darlin', you're Wednesday. The braids are spot on.
Yes, baby boy, you're Spiderman, nice 'spidey' moves.
Yes, tall teenager, that mask is terrifying and for one night, you don't have to worry about being social because the mask'll cover that...
Now, kids, please keep the hope in humanity.
Reminded: even at our spookiest, we just wanna be seen...
Happy Halloween!

It's funny how Seven mentions that there's no one on Voyager she considers a suitable partner, selecting only two guys who, in her view, would be "acceptable", and she even tells B'Elana that she has no intention of being trapped in a monogamous relationship. On the other hand, we have Chakotay, with his crush on Kathryn, and ignoring Seven almost completely as a woman, keeping his distance and barely exchanging words with her… So the writers decide to put these two together. God help us!

Sacred Ground shows the difference between Chakotay and Tuvok's love for Janeway in a really funny way because Chakotay is freaking out about how Janeway might be in danger and they need to beam her back to voyager because for all they know she could be DYING and Tuvok is like calm down don't you know she'd rather die than leave a task incomplete. And it just goes to show that as much as Chakotay cares for Janeway and wants to protect her he'll never show the belief in her ability and trust in her judgement that Tuvok does. Because as much as he admires her he puts his affection first and Tuvok puts Janeway's choices and convictions above everything, even above his love for her and her wellbeing. Janeway could probably use someone like Chakotay especially when they get back to earth but Tuvok having such total faith in and knowledge of her that he wouldn't save her when he knows it would be her choice to die is incredible.

"Kiss Me, Kathy"
Snippet:
She was cursing him to seek other partners. Other, less qualified partners. Partners that Q didn't deserve. Kathy tilted her head forward, placing the leather-bound book on the couch in front of her and leaning on her arm to read. She was growing fatigued. She’d soon stand and stretch and walk back to her empty quarters. Alone. Q sat forward so suddenly, he thought his non-body might propel him off the chair. But he held for a minute with a devilish grin. She was alone. He needed to inspect this aspect of her life. Deeply. Repeatedly.
Summary:
A shameless romp through Q's revenge on Kathryn after she rejects him in "The Q and the Grey" (but before the end, when he 'resolves' his progeny needs...)
Q is a vengeful god. And Kathryn won't accept his offer of procreation. So fine, she won't accept him? Who WILL she accept...? Q must find out with some "it's for science" scrutiny in true Cause & Effect (TNG)/Coda (VOY) style. How many times will Kathryn have to face off with a new romantic partner in her personal 'Groundhog Day' hell until Q figures out what really makes her want someone... and uses that against her... hilarity ensues. (How can it not?)
Link:
Rating: E for shameless smut...
