Anemoia - Quiet Core Arc

More out of order art! My girl Anemoia's gone through... a LOT! And her core is now unable to fully function.  --- Also, some silly headcanon lore about the Shadekin, since like 80 percent of the lore in ss14 servers are just headcanons that most in the server agree with, so I can't be stopped. So, active Shadekin (those who can enter a subspace dimension to traverse with minimal detectability in realspace) will, if ever killed, teleport back to their Outpost to heal. The way I decide to think of it is that their core, being the origin point for the anomalous beings, knows to escape heavy injury by abandoning the manifested body to begin reforming the body. This isn't the only time a 'kin will retreat into their core, however. If the core holds too much emotional distress inside itself, it'll similarly stop holding physical form until a time when the distress calms. Relevant to Anemoia's case, however, some cores will give an 'incorrect' signal to sudden, cataclysmic emotional distress, like... a friend dying. Instead of the core trying to disperse the smoke that forms the body as a form of emergency reset, it will try to disperse its own essence, in functionality leaving the body intact, but the 'kin comatose. The 'cure' to this happening is, sadly, time and restraint. The core can, so long as it isn't fully Burned, slowly recover its faculties and cease the attempted dispersal. Until then, though, that core has to be suppressed, usually with an implant, forcing it and the body it moves to be fully physical.

Fun fact! Although Shadekin aren't hurt by extremely bright lights, they are extremely sensitive to sudden light changes! Which means poor Anems here should have made sure the LEDs were on low before she turned them on.
