SCP-1916-00: The Cabin
Item #: SCP-1916-00 Object Class: Keter Event Log Team of Authorized and Armed personnel, including two AEED agents on the recommendation of Dr. Washington, entered 'The Cabin' at [ DATA EXPUNGED ] Below is the transcription of their live communications with agents monitoring both internal and external entrances of 'The Cabin'1.
Transcription Begins It's all stone, bars on the windows, bars on the door too. Nothing that'll stop us from opening it, I bet2. Approaching with caution. "Who are you?" Did you hear that? Her voice gave me chills. "I would appreciate if you could stop pointing your gun at me." I guess we've not no idea if it's dangerous or not. "Are you the ones keeping us here?" Entity appears willing to engage. Do you have a name?
"I'm not going to talk to answer the questions of someone threatening to shoot me." There appears to be no keyhole on the chains around her neck and wrists. She's probably at least somewhat restrained. "Stay away from me." Approaching entity for closer examination. "Don't say I didn't warn you." The sound of slicing fresh meat, first from directly in front of the microphone, and then from directly below.3 The resulting chaos is completely incomprehensible, a mess of bullets and blades. Interior team managed to exit in time, but evacuation procedures ensured there was no one was there to open the door. The door closed after ninety seconds, three seconds after evacuation completed.
Next Action Escalated Engagement Measures Approved Footnote 1. The recording devices have not since been recovered. 2. Remarkable sensitivity on these things. Ordering review of the audio logs and check this isn't contamination. Flowery details have popped up a few times.

Incident Log: 1916-00_02
Associated Anomaly: SCP-1916-000: 'The Host'
Description: A dagger manifested, which 'The Host' then used to stab itself with, repeatedly. No remains were recovered.
Transcription Begins A creature, who nearly fills the room with feathers flaring out in irritation, paces anxiously from wall to wall inside of the observation room1. It speaks, often barely audible, but sometimes clearly enough to be overheard by the microphones. Three distinct tones were used by 'The Host', which have been referenced by their tone2. Neutral: [Inaudible] ... else to do? Agitated: We can't just sit here and wait for them to decide what happens. Nervous: Everything is so different this time, I think they're being very reasonable, considering. Agitated: This all could be a trick, to keep us waiting until he can talk us into staying forever. Neutral: I don't think I can stay in this room much longer. Agitated: Then let's do something about it. Nervous: It seems to be the only option. Neutral: So we're just going to leave her behind? Agitated: I don't think we're that lucky. A silver dagger appears in one of its clawed hands, and it rapidly drives the dagger into its own body. First into its stomach, next its chest, before finally slashing its own throat. The body is gone before it collapses.
Footnotes 1. Flagging for contamination. 2. As opposed to sequenced in order of appearance, due to documented memetic effects.

Addendum 1: The Host has started displaying signs of agitation. Provision of pens, papers, and a couple of magazines seems to have stopped it banging on the door and asking for help. Addendum 2: The Host has begun arguing out loud with itself, changing cadences in speech patterns noted by attending officers. Addendum 3: Observation room [ DATA EXPUNGED ] is no longer occupied.
SCP-1916-000: The Host
Item #: SCP-1916-000 Object Class: Safe Special Containment Procedures: Currently willingly held in an examination room. Assessment ongoing.
Description: Assumed to be a counterpart to SCP-1916-00 due to its similar spontaneous manifestation in the same relative location, and it's first requests to staff to locate 'The Cabin.' SCP-1916-000 stands nearly five metres tall, and is comprised of reptilian, avian and humanoid features. It has no need of food, or water, though appears to sleep for several hours at random intervals. Temperament remains largely passive and pleasant, tending to go catatonic when under stress or experiencing confusion. Interviews have not proved effective due to this trait. Previous Report
Current State: The Host will remain under indefinite observation. Exploration of SCP-1916-00 & SCP-1916-000 paused until Incident Report reviewed and further measures approved. Staff Note: Chain of command appears to be broken as Incident Log 1916-00_01 is overdue for review. Going to retrieve the original report from Records and drop it on someone's desk.

Reference: Item #: 'SCP-1916-000' Memetic Anomaly Assessment Extrapolation: 'The Cabin' cannot be referred to by most sequences of numbers. Any attempt to associated 'The Cabin' within a sequence or as individual digits will merely produce the speaker/writer's last known 'acceptable' designation. Experimentation Log A proceeding sequence of '19' is the only consistent exception. Evidence: 1 2 - SCP-193-00, AKA The Cabin - SCP-198-00, AKA The Cabin - SCP-1916-00, AKA The Cabin No other combination functions, testing completed up to (100). (2) & (8) as matches eliminates 1916 being a reference to the corresponding year. Research into the neurological significance of 19 in relation to 2, 8, or 16, besides being multiples. An intern suggested assuming it is a Caesar cipher, which is so simple it just might work. - 19/1/6: S/A/F - 19/16: S/P Proposed Experimentation: See if this means anything to the autonomous counterpart. Footnotes 1. To avoid further confusion with other anomalous instances, 'The Cabin' will continue to be sequenced with the addendum '-00' though it serves no immediate purpose. 2. Sequence SCP-00 also functional. 'Is 0 a number' is not a question I am submitting for open debate'.
Memetic Anomaly Assessment
Item #: 'SCP-1916-000' Rotating staff to be maintained until full assessment is complete. Recommended Categorizations: visual, infohazard, cognitohazard, extradimensional Warning: Opening The Below Will Subject The Reader to Known Memetic Contamination
The anomaly hereby referred to as 'The Cabin' imposes the following limitations on anyone who perceives it. Indirect exposure, such as through a written or verbal report, transfers the effects.
Proposed Classification: Keter, at minimum Documentation Log: - Incident Reviews 1916-00_[01-03] - Failed Filing- Video recording of first contact by Dr. W - Initial Memo the AEED - Transcribed testimony of involved AEED officials - Transcribed testimony of witness's civilian friends Effects as Known The door is immediately recognizable as a cabin door, to any who see it directly or hear it described in enough detail. Some individuals may experience a compulsion to enter 'The Cabin' 'The Cabin' cannot be referred to by most sequences of numbers. Any attempt to associated 'The Cabin' within a sequence or as individual digits will merely produce the speaker/writer's last known 'acceptable' designation.
The Case of Dr. H Washington: Memetic Assessment
Video footage of the first interaction with 'The Cabin' reveals that the reporting officer did not break safety guidelines.1 The memo was completed before Dr. Washington approached within one metre of the manifestation. Further testing confirms that pictures, drawings, and detailed descriptions of the 'door' imparts the same knowledge. Extrapolation: Memetic effects have multiple triggers. - Interviews with responding AEED agents unanimously confirm that Dr. Washington requested their immediate assistance.2 Review of surrounding footageton confirms there were no instances of Dr. Washing or any other person(s) opening the door. Interviews with researchers who had contact with the first responders in the time between first memo and exploratory approval reported observed behaviour as abnormal and 'distracted'3.
The first attempt at filing the appearance of 'SCP-1916-00' contains poetic prose detailing the interior of The Cabin. Interviews with responding AEED agents confirm that when recalling the interior of 'The Cabin', the recount is identical. When prompted to repeat their account after some minutes, the language and details provided varied. Extrapolation: Responding officer's breaking of protocol, including unauthorized contact and resulting disappearance, was a result of exposure to the anomaly4. Indirect exposure, such via written or verbal reports, do not transfer this effect. First Archivist to review the report made corrections to the description's prose, but could not modify the filing's classification. ESCALATED EXPLORATORY MEASURES APPROVED Staff Note: Enough time has been wasted on this, assemble a team first thing tomorrow. I expect reports on my desk within 24 hours.
Footnote: 1. In contradiction to Incident Review: 1916-00_02. 2. "She was very confident there was something that wanted to talk to us inside of The Cabin." 3. "Muttering to herself, she kept saying that there was 'something she needed to do'." 4. All other personnel who are at risk of contamination have been administered a Class A Amnesiac and show no symptoms of contamination.

Incident Review: 1916-00_03
Incident Log: 1916-00_01 Officer: [ DATA EXPUNGED ], Corrections, RAISA Correction Log Step One: Assign Sequential Designation 1. Assigned entity 'The Cabin' reference 1916 in accordance with designations protocols.1 2. Associated entity 'The Host' assigned sub-designation -00.2
MEMETIC MATERIAL DETECTED: INFO-HAZARDOUS
Current State In accordance with InfoHazard Response Protocol, any and all references to 'SCP-1916-00' must be contained within quotations until assessment is complete. Next Action - Escalating Incident to the Anti Memetics Department. - Requesting corroboration from AEED as to why agents deployed for a first encounter and any reasoning Dr. Washington held for contacting them directly in the initial incident - Requesting video records of Dr. H Washington's first encounter with 'The Cabin'. Footnotes 1. Correct designation is [ DATA EXPUNGED ] 2. Original attempts to confirm the correct designation was in triplicate before CO alerted to the Infohazard.

Incident Review: 1916-00_02
Incident Log: 1916-00_01 Officer: [ DATA EXPUNGED ], Corrections, RAISA
Procedural Discrepancy Record 1. Designation SCP-1916-00 assigned without authorization from Records & Review. 2. Unknown Entity identified 'The Cabin' prior to exploration1. 3. Exploratory efforts were led by Junior Researcher Dr. H Washington, as opposed to operational standard deployment of D Class Personnel. 4. As for 'The Host', even without glancing at the designation guidelines. I would hope adding a '0' to a sequence is very obviously not the correct process for multi-instance entities.2 Evidence Log - Initial Memo from Doctor H Washington to the AEED. > Spontaneous Anomaly discovered to have manifested between the Maintenance Room and the Emergency Exit on Floor One of Site [ DATA EXPUNGED ]. > It's a door, about the size and shape a cabin door usually is. Next Action Due to the number of errors already present, escalating for final corrections and review. Footnotes 1. This review is operating under the assumption that Dr. Washington ignored safety protocol and opened the door after its spontaneous appearance and before approval. 2. Ironically, the filings of SCP-1916 is an excellent example of proper sub-nomer application.

Incident Review: 1916-00_01
Incident Log: 1916-00_01
Auditor: H.J.Lewis, Record Keeper, Digitization Department
Determination: Initial incident report failed quality checks and was not filed.
Explanation: Designation 1916 is not available for assignment, and there is no time stamp on the initial memo with which to assign a sequenced designation in accordance with Spontaneous Manifestation Documentation Guidelines. First report has been gathering dust in Manual Review, pending further details from Dr. H Washington. Who has, as of time of review, not been recovered from the inside of what is being referred to as 'The Cabin'. Staff Note: Looking through, there is no date or time recorded anywhere. Not to mention the other discrepancies. If it were up to me, this entire file would be scrapped and re-issued but as the initial eye-witness is missing, all records must be preserved as evidence. Next Action Escalating to RAISA as per protocol.

Interview SCP-1916-000_02
Interviewed: SCP-1916-000 Interviewer: Dr. D South Transcription Begins Dr. S: It's good to speak with you again. The Host: I'd like to say the same, but I'm not sure any part of this could be considered 'good'.
Dr. S: Care to elaborate on what happened last time? The Host: What did you say your name was? Dr. S: You can call me Doctor South. The Host: And are you absolutely sure that is your real name? Dr. S: Why do you ask? The Host: Some parts of this are starting to feel familiar, that's all. Dr.S: For the sake of not getting written up, I'm going to continue to the next questions. The Host: We all have a job to do. Dr.S: First, it was noted on further observation that you referred to yourself as 'we' in our last chat. Are you a single entity? The Host: Look, it's complicated. Dr.S: Can you elaborate on that? The Host: There's only so much I'm allowed to tell you.
Dr.S: Allowed to tell me? Care to - The Host: Elaborate? Are you sure you've never gone by another name? A title, maybe? Dr.S: Only 'doctor'. The Host: Well, you can't be him, because I can interrupt you. That's a good sign, I've never been able to interrupt anyone before. Dr.S: Are you aware that you are moving between personalities? The Host: Kind of hard to not notice that. Dr.S: Are you able to identify yourselves? Dr.S: Not again. [...] Hello, can you hear me? End Transcription

Interview: SCP-1916-000_01
Interviewed: SCP-1916-000 Interviewer: Dr. D South Transcription Begins
Dr. S: I'd like to start by thanking you for your cooperation up until this point. The containment protocol can be overwhelming for a lot of our residents. The Host: Everyone has been really open and clear about the whole process. It's a nice change of pace, honestly. Dr. S: On that subject, could you provide us any information on where you came from? The Host: That's easy, before this we were on a path in the woods. Dr. S: Who was that speaking just now? The Host: I don't know what you mean. Dr. S: The sentence before last, your voice changed. There was also - hey, observation room, can you confirm if that was a visual distortion? Dr.S: Yes, that's confirmation. There was a brief change in your appearance. Dr.S: Hello, can you hear me? Dr.S: Entity has become unresponsive. End Transcription

SCP-1916-000: The Host
Item #: SCP-1916-000 Object Class: Pending Special Containment Procedures: Anomalous entity contained in a windowless, filtered room and monitored by armed personnel in compliance with Spontaneous Manifestation protocol. Description: SCP-1916-000 stands nearly five metres tall, and is comprised of reptilian, avian and humanoid features.
While the entity appears dangerous, it has cooperated with containment procedures. According to staff that interacted with The Host, it has a very friendly and helpful demeanour, and apologized several times for the 'confusion' throughout containment. SCP-1916-000's origin and intentions have yet to be determined, other than a persistent request to locate 'The Cabin'.

Incident Log: 1916-00_01
Associated Anomaly: SCP-1916-00: The Cabin Personnel Involved: Dr. Hailey Washington Description: Lead Researcher initiated unauthorized physical contact within the anomalous area.
Evidence: [Video Recording Begins] Two AAED escorts enter the room, led by Dr. Washington. Dr. Washington makes notes into her voice recorder.1
Dr. Washington is nodding at a noticeable frequency, as if every few seconds there is something to silently agree with. Dr. Washington faces the wall directly to the left of the doors for nearly a full minute. Dr. Washington turns towards the dagger on the table. Dr. W: And then there's this. A pristine blade that reflects light which isn't here. It feels important, it looks important. It has to be important. Dr. Washington reaches towards the blade on the table. Both members of her escort step forward to stop her, calling warnings. Dr. W: Look, the next step in the protocol is to file an experiment request to initiate first contact. That approval takes two days, this door has been here a week. I'll just grab it now, and ask for forgiveness later. Dr. Washington picks up the weapon by the handle. She looks at it intently, and then her head slowly tilts so she is looking at the ground. Dr. Washington does not respond to verbal cues. Citing accordance with protocol, the other officials exit the anomalous space. The camera remains on its tripod. Dr. Washington looks up again after several minutes and appears to realize she is alone. She does not act as if concerned. Dr.W: I'm not going to do anything without talking to her, and if she's as bad as you say she is, maybe I'll slay her. Dr. Washington tightens her fingers around the weapon, and opens the door to the basement. A set of narrow wooden stairs are barely visible. After ninety seconds, the door slams shut. The camera falls, and turns off.
Footnotes 1. The device was not recovered.

Addendum 01: Armed reinforcements recruited for further investigation. Addendum 02: Initial exploration complete, lead Researcher Dr. Washington has chosen to venture into The Cabin on her own. Case being escalated for review.
SCP-1916: The Cabin
Item #: SCP-1916 Object Class: Pending
Special Containment Procedures: No immediate threat found to be exiting or immediately within The Cabin. Armed guards stationed, in compliance with Spontaneous Manifestation safety guidelines. Description: SCP-1916 presents itself as a door which is exactly 2 metres tall and 1 metre across. The door appears to be shaded in monochrome to mimic the appearance of a nondescript lumber. The handle does not extend into three dimensional space, the etching is a continuous surface of graphite, or possibly charcoal. The door can be opened by pushing against where the handle appears to be. Inside of the cabin is a 5x5 room, walls, floors and ceiling in the same style of material as the first door. Windows divided into six panes are embedded into the left and right walls.Outside of these windows can be seen a starry night sky, regardless of the time of day. The only piece of furniture is a small wooden table, upon which is a silver dagger. Next to the table is a door to the basement of The Cabin.

Addendum 01: Overnight, one standing guard reported the noise of; "maybe it was screaming, could have been crying". No further changes have been noted in the manifestation. Addendum 02: Exploratory measures approved. Addendum 03: The interior of the cabin is almost entirely bare. The air is stale and musty and the floors and walls are covered in a fine layer of dust. The only furniture of note is a plain wooden table. Perched on that table is a pristine blade. There are no apparent occupants, windows divided into six panes are embedded into the left and right walls. Outside of these windows can be seen a starry night sky, at time of observation the time was 3:12pm. A second door is visible directly across the room. Further exploration requires authorization for armed accompaniments in compliance with Spontaneous Manifestation safety protocol. Staff Note: The protocol here is overly thorough, this appears to be a relatively safe anomaly and the need for supervisor approval on each stage really slows things down.
