What should a king or ruling lord in Westeros be doing to ensure that his heiress is able to successfully succeed him with little trouble? Rhaenyra would've been a terrible ruler, but what actions should Viserys I (if he actually knew what he was doing & didn't marry Alicent or do any other of his canon actions) have done to better prepare her for ruling besides the one progress and having her be his cupbearer? To really firmly establish her as an heiress of his realm.

I answered a very similar question, which basically asked: "If you were a king who wanted his daughter to succeed him, what would you do to maximize your chances of success?", but it was almost five years ago, so I'll repost it.

When it comes to these big questions of politics, there are so many factors that go into the answer. You can’t ever have a general rule, because each factor will have a wealth of circumstances unique to them. All politics is subject to the times, and those sorts of questions would be no different.

I’m going to assume that you meant that she was a crown princess and that I desired her to succeed the Throne. In that case, I would probably marry her to a family that gives her a strong position, probably to a dynastic third son or someone who didn’t stand to inherit, so the future king-consort wouldn’t have been raised in an environment where he was expected to exert supreme political power in his prospective domain. However, I’d probably look to, more than finding her an ideal mate, constantly be assigning her tasks in which she has an active role the same I would if she was a crown prince instead of a crown princess, so that she can be an active presence in the political sphere. Ideally, I want her to be known to highborn and commoner alike and avoid the mistakes of Rhaenyra, who isolated herself on Dragonstone and focused power inwards rather than building a coalition.

Am I building a navy to take out pirates in the Stepstones? My daughter is in charge of getting those ships built. Do I want to embark on a trade deal and alliance with the Sealord? She’s receiving the diplomat in the solar. A tournament in honor of my fiftieth nameday? She’s leading the opening ceremonies wearing a princess’s coronet. Was there a famine? She’s front-and-center distributing emergency grain rations to the starving smallfolk, flanked by two Kingsguard, to give her that sense of royal gravitas, naturally.

Some years of that, once she hits about 12 years of age (easy tasks with supervision, then work my way up as she gets older), gives her a powerful public presence, then get a betrothal as I’ve mentioned above, then keep her in the public sphere, more and more, until I’m dead or my health forces me to abdicate, and then she has the social capital she needs to (hopefully) keep the Iron Throne.

Readers can’t help but sympathize with Cambree after what she’s been through and her vulnerabilities that keep her from reaching out, while the sexy dragon might need a few lessons in feelings, he certainly knows how to keep readers’ hearts fluttering. The relationship is sweet and completely tangled up in emotional turmoil while these two heat up the pages with their fiery chemistry throughout.

The fast paced plot keeps readers holding on the edge of their seats with lots of thrilling suspense and exhilarating danger as their enemies are up to some major plotting and have some surprises in the store for Angus and his dragons. The spine tingling tension builds as a mysterious suitor competes for Cambree’s attentions, King Zander and his family visit Khoth and ask for a surprising favor while unexpected twists from the bad guys keeps readers guessing and waiting for the next explosive event or bloody battle. Oh, let’s not forget, there is still things happening back in the Tehrex Realm that just whets readers appetites for more.  There is no way for readers put down this story once they have begun and there is not a dull moment to be found.

This delightful story in the Dark Warrior Alliance series is set during the Christmas holidays and warms the heart with as the strong, captivating characters discover forgiveness, hope, love and joy.  Ariel and Ren’s story is really short but packs quite a punch as rule breaking occurs, dangerous fights with an enemy and a feisty angel refuses to take no for an answer. There is no way for readers to stay emotionally detached during this thrilling and enjoyable read that is full of sweet romance and electric chemistry.  This story does not have to be read in sequence but it touches on an event that started in Dragon Knight of Koth, but has not reached its conclusion but that event is in no way influenced by this story.
