if anyone was supposed to have a happily ever after it was bobby, please. he was finally free of his guilt, finally healing about his dad, finally on good terms with his mom, building a house of his own with athena. he was supposed to see may, harry, and buck have families and grow old, he was supposed to have grandkids he can take to the station, he was supposed to cook and dance and kiss with athena in their new kitchen post the finale of this show...

post buddie canon episode where like. over the course of one shift, maddie, bobby and athena all find excuses to corner eddie and give him some light variation of the shovel talk. bobby quizzes him about his intentions, athena casually mentions that she knows the best ways to get away with murder, maddis threatens him over the phone etc and eddie all the while is like. guys. please. its me. buck is also strangely busy during this. when they finally get home and eddie can mention it, buck lasts all of two seconds before laughing like YOU ACTUALLY FELL FOR IT OH MY GOD and turns out this was a planned prank all along. then while buck is still teasing him, something shifts in the air. theres a knock at the door. eddie smiles evilly.
