 Production Title: The Jungle

    What    software did you choose and why?

For example: If it is easier to use    then how is it compared to the others. Was it the best choice to help    create your vision?

 I used Abode Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro to complete    my assignment. I used this software because I understood the basics of both    and I also wanted to learn how to use them better for future reference and    assignments. I reckon it was the best way and most efficient software that    I could have used to complete my assignment.

  What     was your animation idea based on repetition? How did you formulate it and     prepare? How well did you execute it?

 My original idea for my animation was to have a scene     in a city with lots of people walking along but I decided to do another     idea where there is a business man walking through the city heading     towards the jungle where the movement is shown by using creating each     frame and playing them at speed. However even though I changed my main     idea of repetition I added more repetition to the start of the animation     where the man is walking through the city and there are a few shots of him     walking that include the theme of repetition. Also, his movement looks     very repetitive because the same seven frames were used to give his legs     the moving effect that is shown and very evident in the final animation     video.

Describe     the creative process of creating the animation. What worked, what didn’t?     How did you overcome issues?

 There     are quite a few creative aspects of the animation that take place both on     the screen and behind in the Premiere Pro editing file. I was trying to     achieve a scene were lots of people were walking on a background of a city     but that did not work because the overlay in Premiere Pro was making the     background darker because there were 30 very similar pictures placed right     on top of each other. I overcame this by trying a different approach to     include the animation theme throughout my animation. I changed my     animation from instead of showing lots of people walking I just have lots     of frames and different angles/views of the man walking. I am not as happy     as I would have been with the original idea, but it still looks effective     and tells the story well.

 What do    you think did you personally did    well?

E.G. –    Time Management, Pre-Production Planning, choosing of software.

 I reckon the man walking in the city is the part I did    the best because the mans moving legs look very effective when it is sped    up enough. I am happy with pretty much everything else, but I reckon that    was the best part and my favourite part. I am also proud of myself with my    time management because I completed my first final of the animation quite    early on, so I had time to change things with my animation to make it more    complex and advanced.

  What    could you have improved?

E.G. –    Time Management, technique, used different software

 I reckon I could have    improved the quality of the pictures and the movement of the rock and tree    because towards the end of their movement they start to move a little    faster. Also, I could have made the disappearance of the business man more    effective in some way. I also think that if I did the animation again I    could make it a lot more complex and advanced as I am aware how to make an    excellent quality animation and I am also know a lot more about animation    which would help me out a lot more.

 On a    scale from 1-10 how complex is your    animation? Why?

 I reckon around a 6-7 out of 10 because it is    not the most complex at this level of animation but there are a few effects    that took a bit of work to mould together to give the animation its    distinctive look. I reckon now that I know how animation works a lot better    that if I was to restart the assignment I would be able to make the quality    a lot better and the effects a lot more complex.

  Are you    proud of the work you have produced?    Explain why?

 Yes, I    am proud of the work I have produced because it is my first attempt at any    sort of animation. I believed that it would look very slow (the frames    would not flow smoothly), and not very good quality, but I have surprised    myself with how it came out. There are lots of things I would do    differently next time I do an animation, but I am still very happy with    what I have produced,

Adjusting the Title

I have realized due to the changes that took place throughout the creation of my animation that the past title was not very accurate to my animation. The new title is now “The Jungle”. This title fits in to the animation well now.

Troubleshooting Mid-Production

While I was planning and producing my animation I realized that one of my images that I wanted to include was a portrait shape which would affect my animation is it was left like this so i have decided to zoom in fast onto this image while it is spinning to give the image some flavour and interest. This will take place over the previous image so there are not any black parts of the screen on the side. This should create a good effect and will hopefully fix the problem!

I will be using Adobe Photoshop because I am quite familiar with an and confident with it, also I would like to get a lot better so I reckon this will be good to learn, I will also use Adobe Premiere Pro to render my frames.

I felt that I made a few mistakes in this animation, next time I make an animation like this I will improve what I have done wrong. An example of one of the mistakes is when the screen is zooming in the background should zoom in to move with S Man.
