Before the fall of the world, Sonic and Tails were just hanging out when they came across a new ice cream shop called Heroes Ice Cream. They learn that each ice cream dish is based off of Sonic and his friends, along with heroes from the past. Since they had a big lunch, Sonic promises Tails to take him for his birthday since it was coming up.
