on the 27th of december, my friend Meghan Riley Lewis was shot and killed in the parking lot of her own apartment.

her murderer, Brian Michael Delen, claimed that he was delivering food when he shot her in self defense after he misgendered her and started an argument.

Meghan was an incredibly bright and beautiful transgender woman who was a beacon of hope and light for her community in bel air, maryland. her doors were always open to anyone in need, and had fostered many queer kids in her lifetime. she was about to adopt a foster teen before she passed. she was a friend and confidant to many and i am absolutely gutted that she is gone.

if you have the time, please sign the petition below urging the maryland attorney general to take over Meghan's investigation. i fear she will not receive justice otherwise. her murderer was released on recognizance until his next trial on january 25th, meaning he is free to live and work as a civilian until then. he works as an uber eats driver in the bel air area, and was working when he shot Meghan.

if you knew Meghan, i am also urging you to give a testimony of character to the maryland attorney general. let them know that she would have never escalated being misgendered to the point of violence. after everything she did for our community, the least we can do for Meghan is bring her justice.

Some of you may be aware of the Informational/vlogger alterhuman YouTube channel "Therian Territory" (Who also has a blog on here

Just recently I was made aware of certain accusations surrounding them, as I'm not active on many other social medias but found an important video on YouTube by another therian creator known as Kade.

Thorn, the host of the Therian Territory account has been accused of supporting zoophilia, sexually explicit conversation with a minor, and cultural appropriation.

It's better explained in the video by Kade, which I'll link below, where in the description there is links to direct amino posts if you'd prefer to read it yourself.

As Kade states at the end of the video, this is not an excuse to go out of your way to harass, doxx, or threaten anyone involved in the drama. This is purely informational so you may gather your own opinion and boundaries about the scenario.

To put it in his words, "block and move on".

PSA about using school emails and internet safety

I wanted to write this since in the past, semi-recently and possibly beforehand, people have sent email inquiries to the official Othercon email address with their school emails. Do not do this.

This doesn't just go for Othercon either, it's for anywhere. School emails are for academic use only. Don't use it to sign up for websites or send emails to anyone that is not also in relation to the school. Why? Because school emails hold public and easily identifiable information about you, don't doxx yourself. Someone can easily find your state, your school district, and potentially your name and the general location of where you live all from that school email alone. One simple Google search is all that's needed to find that info. Strangers on the internet do not need to know where you go to school, please stay safe and don't give out this kind of information.

You know what I think would be a cute trend for nonhumans? Making little naturalist field note pages about your species - like the ones in that Dragonology book or in How to Train Your Dragon (not sure why both of my examples are dragon based, I'm sure there are plenty of examples of this that aren't, those are just the first two that came to mind).

It'd be such a fun cute way to get a bunch of easily digestible information about your species out in one page and I don't know about y'all but I like thinking about my species from an outsider's perspective sometimes.

Bonus points if you draw a little diagram for it but you obviously don't have to.

Got clocked by an elderly therian woman today. She complimented my wolf necklace, and I thanked her. Then she told me that she was a Fox. Not that she liked them, that she is one. And winked at me before leaving.

This woman had to be pushing 60. I live in a small town in the south. There is no welcome community here, and its honestly pretty shitty. But this elderly woman saw me, and knew what I was Immediately. It was nice. It was validating.

It made me feel less small to know there are others around me.
