It all started when Ushijima asked you to go with him when he gets his wisdom teeth taken out, and you agreed, as you cared about him and he would be on anaesthetics so he may require some assistance.But you knew it was probably going to be difficult as you had once looked after a friend after they had their wisdom teeth removed

You sat in the waiting room…waiting. When a nurse came up to you and told you he was out and waiting. You smiled as she lead you to where he was, and what you saw was interesting to say the least, Ushijima looked out of it to say the least. He looked you in the eyes and had a very uncharacteristic smile, your heart warmed at the sight of your boyfriend looking so happy despite the reason why.

You were mindful that he had just came out so you tried to be as quiet as possible, “Hey toshi, how are you feeling?”, Ushijima responded louder then you’ve ever heard him speak, “i’m tired” “toshi, we’re still in the hospital, and just a bit longer and we can go home.”

All the paper was filled out and you able to start heading home with Ushijima, you went to help him up, but he quickly stopped you. “I’m sorry ma’am but i have a girlfriend that i hope to marry one day” Your heart immediately melted, but you quickly remembered you still needed to get him home so you went along with it. “Well your girlfriend sent me to help you get home” Ushijima seemed content with what you said so he let you help him up. You turned to nurse and asked her, “How much did you give him again?”, the nurse chuckled softly and said not too much so he should be fine by tonight.

You sighed in relief and took Ushijima to the car as you had drove there, knowing Ushijima would be going on anaesthetics so it would just be easier on him and you if you took the car. You and Ushijima got in the car you asked if he needed anything before you went home and he shook his head, seemingly exhausted.

You drove him to your shared apartment and took him inside. It was quiet for a moment, until Ushijima broke it, “When will (y/n) get here, no offence but i miss her”, you almost forgot he doesn’t know you are you. “Well she won’t be long now” “Ok, she’s really kind,smart and she has a really pretty smile” You don’t know why he chose to say that it made you blush nonetheless. You went to ask if he needed anything, only to see he had fallen asleep. You laughed softly, and moved him into a more comfortable position and went to get up, only for Ushijima to rest his head on your shoulder and lean on you slightly, you tensed but immediately relaxed, choosing to not get up in fear of waking him. You got comfortable yourself and tried to will yourself awake but Ushijima’s warmth lulled you to sleep.

Maybe looking after him won’t be as difficult as you thought.

genre: a tad angsty and fluffy nearing the end

You had been falling behind slightly in school recently, it was nothing major or concerning, it’s just that the work load shiratorizawa is sometimes a bit much, which is somewhat expected. However, you parents somehow found out and were quick to berate you and tell you how it’s “unacceptable to fall behind and waste your future”. You knew that they meant well and just wanted you to succeed but that didn’t stop it from hurting. As you had always tried to impress them and try to live up to all their high expectations, but no matter what you did, it never seemed to be enough for them. Everytime you managed to live up to what they expected they raised the bar higher and higher until it seemed impossible to impress them. You had lost count of all the awards you had won for your academics and knowledge but as soon as you received one, it was expected that you earn two, and when you started playing sports you were expected to excell and be captain and best player in your team.

So you were quick to throw yourself into all your studies and working longer and harder at practice, started to ignore your own personal needs in favour to catch up on everything you missed.

Hoping to never have to hear their disappointed voices tell you about how they expected better form you ever again. You didn’t think anyone notice as you didn’t think there was any noticeable change, you thought if there was your parents or teammates would mention something as they see you most as of right now. However that illusion was shattered when you managed to find time with your boyfriend, Ushijima.

Everything was going as normal at first, you were at his house and you were sat in a comfortable silence, this didn’t bother you as the silence was calming and very different then the atmosphere at your house as of recent. Then Ushijima broke the silence. “Are you ok?” It seemed like a simple and innocent question, however his tone made it sound more serious. He elaborated, “You just seem more distant, and quiet, and you don’t look like you’re taking care of yourself”. His concern and sincerity is what made it hit you and made you realise how you’ve been neglecting your relationships. You weren’t quite sure when you started crying but you just couldn’t help it, all the pressure was piling up and you couldn’t take it anymore.

Ushijima’s eyes widened before softening. He slowly got closer and pulled you into a calm embrace, he slowly rubbed circles on your back to calm you. When your cries slowly calmed down and were reduced to quiet hiccups, he spoke again, “You can always talk to me if something is wrong, you don’t have to pretend around me.” You took a breath and finally spoke, your voice slightly dry from crying, “It’s just that my parents have been putting a lot of pressure on me to stay on top of work and practicing and it’s just been a lot, and i don’t know if i can’t take it”. Ushijima nodded slightly, his voice calm and even, “I know your parents can be overbearing but i’m happy to help you with studying you don’t have to suffer alone, now please try not to worry so much, i’m here to help and i don’t plan of going anywhere” His words warmed your heart as his arms wrapped around you more. His warmth and calming presence relaxed you for the first time in a while, and your eyes closed slowly and you drifted off to sleep.
