Sybil shrugged, not really caring much about it anymore. What was truly scary was the thought of the angels coming after them. Then they'd be truly, royally screwed.
She frowned at hearing about Silphey's brother chasing after her. "I don't mean to pry, and you are in no way obligated to answer, but why is your brother after you?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
+2
"I’m sorry. Kyo’s told me about the various people who hunt to sell or kill nonhumans," Silphey said softly. "I’m just…I’m running from my brother," She said as she looked down at her plate, figuring that she might as well come clean. They’d already taken her in, given her shelter and told her information that could put them at risk. It was the least she could do. "He’s been chasing me ever since I ran away at fifteen. I can usually move and, so long as I keep a low profile, can stay hidden…but he always seems to find me eventually."
Kyo eat a bit as he watched Silphey. He’d offered to just kill the bastard, but she wouldn’t let him.

Erykah nodded and got some sugar, putting the packets beside the girl's mug of coffee. "Let me know if you need anything." she said with a soft smile.
She soon dealt with the other customers in her shop and went to the back room to call up the stairs for her assistant before looking back over at the one customer, curious about the overly tired girl.

"I'm pleased you enjoy your coffee, ma'am." she said with a subtle nod, turning away from Cheryl to resume in her duties around her shop.
+cheryl1967
"Good point," Cheryl agreed, blowing on her coffee and taking a sip. "Mmm! Great coffee! And I agree. If humans can come in all different shapes and sizes, then I suppose so can vampires."

Sybil nodded and took a bite of her spaghetti, chewing as she listened to Silphey moan at the delicious flavor of Erykah's spaghetti. She giggled and smiled, happy their guests enjoyed the food. "I know." she smiled.
"Ah, understandable, that's happened to me before when Erykah and I have to run from vampire hunters. The tricky part is we have to stay hidden during the day for her sake, and so I'm not able to get food when that happens unless we get some moments of peace during the night, granted I'm not too exhausted to eat." she sighed.
+2
Silphey sat down across from Sybil with her bowl of spaghetti and smiled. “Well, thank you for being so nice to us. I know it’s weird to just take in strangers like this,” She said softly then took a bite of the food. She practically moaned as the delicious flavor washed over her tongue. “Oh god this is so good!”
Kyo chuckled as he watched Silphey eat then sat down beside her with his own bowl. “You’ll have to excuse her. She hasn’t had a decent meal in over twenty-four hours.”

Sybil shrugged and looked down at her food. "Yeah, we're told that a lot. It helps sometimes. People just assume we're sisters or something." she smiled. "Yeah, Erykah is the best. I never knew my real parents, and she's the best I've ever had."
"Like I said, I never knew them. I have no memories of them, any that I did have were probably erased from my mind for my protection. I don't even know their names. And you're right. Judging people based on what they are is wrong. You should only judge them by who they are as a person, their actions, how they treat others. Otherwise, you aren't giving them a chance." she explained.
+2
"Oh…I’m so sorry, Sybil," Silphey said soflty. "I honestly thought that you two might be related or something. You look an awful lot alike," She said with a small smile. "But it’s nice that she took you in like that. Erykah must be a very kind person."
Kyo nodded to the half breed then sighed. “You were lucky. Angels are targeted quite often. I’m sorry about your parents, but it’s like Silphey said, it’s great that Erykah helped you out. I really did mess up by judging her on what she is.”

"It's not your fault, Silphey, you didn't know. Erykah is sensitive about her past, it's not pretty." she explained with a soft sigh.
"Guys, it's not your fault, just.. listen okay?" she asked softly as she led them back to the kitchen where she started getting her dinner together.
"Erykah has a dark past she doesn't like to talk about. And technically, we didn't exactly meet, she.. more or less raised me. My parents, an elf and an angel, weren't supposed to be together, and so they were killed, but before that happened, they gave me to Erykah. I've lived with her ever since, and it's been a few centuries, I assure you. Don't feel guilty for speaking about something you didn't know brought up bad memories, okay?" she said softly.
+2
Silphey followed after Sybil then frowned a little at what the girl told her. “I’m so sorry,” She whispered back then bit her lip nervously. “I really didn’t mean to bring up something sad. If you don’t want to tell me about it, then you don’t have to. It’s not like I’ve been very forthcoming with my past either,” She said with a sad smile.
Kyo watched the two walk away then sighed as the vampire left them. “Well…that killed the mood, didn’t it?” he asked loud enough for Silphey to hear him.
"I didn’t mean to," Silphey said softly as she walked back into the kitchen.

"Come on, I'll show you where we keep them. We can pick one out and play a game." she smiled, gently taking Silphey's wrist in her hand and leading her to the closet in the hallway, still in sight of the kitchen and living room, but out of earshot. "I'm sorry, Erykah doesn't like talking about her past or mine. It's not good." she whispered.
Erykah soon finished making the food and set out a few bowls for those that were hungry. "Serve yourself, there's plenty for the three of you. Excuse me." she said before going to her room and locking the door behind her.
+2
Silphey noticed Erykah’s reaction then immediately regretted asking the question. She hadn’t meant to bring up something bad and was about to apologize when Sybil spoke up. “O-oh, yeah I love board games,” She said with a bit of a forced smiled, glad the girl had butted in.
Kyo cocked an eyebrow as he watched the little interaction, wondering what the heck that was about, but kept his mouth shut for once.

"Probably best if you do." Erykah said softly, keeping her gaze on the food she was preparing. She had decided to make spaghetti and meat balls, as it was quick and simple for her to make with such hungry guests.
Sybil watched as Erykah visibly stiffened at Silphey's question. She saw the vampire's lips tighten in a line, and so she turned Silphey's attention towards herself. "It's a long story, if she started talking about it, she'd have us up all night like her. Do you like board games?"
+2
"Fine, fine. I’ll just pretend I’m hanging around a bunch of kids then," Kyo muttered with a chuckle, making Silphey pout.
"Can we change the subject?" She whined then bit her lip as she looked back to Erykah. "So, how did you meet Sybil?" She asked, trying to pretend like she didn’t see Erykah smirk. All she needed was another perverted supernatural being around.

"Oh sweetheart, I am anything but prudish." Erykah said with a small smirk. "However, I would prefer if you kept your pervertedness to yourself when around my ward." she said as she glanced over at him.
Sybil blushed and giggled softly. "You guys are funny."
+2
"You guys are just a bit prudish," Kyo pouted, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned back against the wall to watch Erykah cook.
"And you’re a pervert," Silphey shot back. Kyo was always like this…but she was happy that he’d finally relaxed enough to joke around like this again. She always felt terrible that because of her, he was always stressed over one thing or another.

"You were about to from the sounds of it." Erykah quipped, her eyebrows raising even though her gaze was focused on the food she was now preparing on the counter in the kitchen.
"No, it's alright, Silphey. I'm fine on my own, it should only take a little while. Please, make yourselves comfortable." she said with a soft smile.
+2
Silphey blushed more and also glared at Kyo.
"What?" He asked with a sigh as he glanced from one angry woman to the other. "I didn’t say anything inappropriate."
"I’m sorry about him. He’s a jerk sometimes," Silphey said to Erykah with a sigh, her cheeks still a little red from embarrassment. "Do you need any help with dinner? I’m a decent cook," She said quickly with a small smile, trying to change the subject.

"On your chest, I assume you mean?" Sybil innocently asked. The hybrid was very naive, innocent, and ignorant about such things, as Erykah kept her away from all that. No need to tarnish her angelic side.
"Alright, and please, keep your language appropriate." she said, glaring slightly at Kyo.
+2
Kyo’s ears twitched as he chuckled a little. “Well, thank you,” He said then grinned “And the hair is the same color down-” Silphey cut him off by elbowing him in the stomach, shooting him a glare before she turned and apologized to Sybil.
"I’m so, so sorry, please ignore him," She said quickly, blushing a little before she turned back to Erykah. "And whatever you want to make is fine with us."
"Spoilsport," Kyo muttered under his breath.

"But fox ears are different from elf ears." Sybil pointed out with a giggle. "I like your ears and tails though. Such a pretty shade."
Erykah nodded. "Any allergies I should be aware of? And any preferences on what you'd like to eat?" she asked.
+2
Silphey turned around when Kyo walked in then sighed as he started picking on her as usual and stuck her tongue out at him. “Don’t be a meaning,” She muttered, making him chuckle.
"She’s seen fox ears," Kyo said with a grin as he let a bit of his own power out so that his silver fox ears and tails showed.
Silphey rolled her eyes then grinned brightly when Erykah mentioned food. “Yes, please! I’m starving! I haven’t eaten since yesterday,” She muttered the last part with a sigh.

Sybil giggled and smiled. Having Silphey's fingers trace over the shell of her ear tickled. "That's a shame, but I think I understand. Erykah keeps me hidden when other supernatural beings are around. Apparently I'm really special or something? I think it's because my mum was an angel." she shrugged.
"She's just touching my ear. She's never seen pointed ears before." Sybil explained with a giggle. Soon, Erykah arrived in the living room with the rest of them. "Anyone hungry?" she asked. "Me, me, me!" Sybil squealed. Erykah rolled her eyes and looked at the other two, raising a brow.
+2
Silphey grinned broadly as she gently reached out and traced her fingers over the shell of Sybil’s ear. “This is so amazing! I’ve never met an angel or an elf before! Kyo freaks out when I’m around other non-humans.”
"It’s not really nice to talk about me when I’m not here to defend myself," Kyo teased as he walked over to them, cocking an eyebrow as he watched Silphey mess with the half breed’s ear. "Silphey…what are you doing?"

Erykah nodded and gestured for Sybil to clean up the table. After the woman had left, Sybil picked up the coins. "Tip. Where would you like it?" she asked. Erykah shrugged and took the tip, soon figuring out where to put it and then resuming in helping Sybil clean up the tables.

"Ah…" She said before getting out her purse. She left a few coins on the table as a tip before getting up, "Well, I must be off now. Thanks for the coffee."

"Sure, go ahead! Nobody ever gets to see my ears, and they're just ears after all." she giggled, leaning closer to Silphey so the other girl could touch her ears. "Nah, not rude at all."
Erykah nodded, smiling softly. "Of course." she said as she watched him walk over to Silphey. "Sybil, show them the guest room, I'll be up soon." she said before walking back out into the main area of her shop. She started cleaning off tables and pushing in chairs, sweeping the floor, wiping down the counters, and putting everything back in it's proper place. After about ten minutes, she locked the door, turned off the lights, and went upstairs where everyone else was.
+2
"Oh my gosh! That’s so amazing!" Silphey said excitedly as she moved to get a closer look at the girl’s ears. "Can I touch them?" She blurted out before she’d thought about it then blushed brightly. "Sorry, that was rude wasn’t it?"
Kyo cocked his head to the side as he watched the vampire, looking for any sign of deceit in her words. “Forgive me for my rudeness,” He said after a few minutes then nodded his head to her, a rare show of humility or compassion or whatever one would label this. To put it simply, Kyo did whatever he wanted…only this time, he needed help protecting Silphey and he wouldn’t let his pride get in the way of that. “And thank you for your help,” He added before he walked back over to rejoin Silphey.
