I'm not a linguist but I am writing a story about two gay 2000 year old vampires falling in love both who speak a few languages particularly french and English most fluently. And I always wondered like so if an immortal grew up speaking old English and old French and older versions or dialects of a language (if that's the right way to phrase it sorry) would it be like now on 2025 they're multilingual in old English and modern English like would it be pretty separate ? Like and thus like easy for someone to just all of a sudden start slipping back to.old English for example. Ig it also would depend on the language but yeah my old ass vampire oc story is full of this question and it fascinates me but I'm no linguist. So yeah my question is out there.

Thinking about The Substance again. Specifically Sue's nightmares. That scene where she's about to hook up with a man and when he pulls down her back zipper, her organs all fall out like her back has been cut open. Her running away from filming terrified because everyone is huddled around the TVs examining her body saying "I thought I saw something.."

It's the way Sue is literally unattainably perfect and still insecure and anxious that people will find something wrong with her
