The Lincoln Assassination is really just wild if you think about it for a moment. The younger brother of one of the most famous actors in the country- himself a famous actor and heartthrob in his own right- killed the President in a theatre and yelled “Sic semper tyrannis,” a line often associated with Brutus, a character that his brother had famously played.

Like, imagine if Liam Hemsworth killed the Prime Minister of Australia at a red carpet movie premiere or something and yelled “I went for the head,” and Chris had to leave the Avengers press tour to tell everyone, “I swear I had nothing to do with this.” Imagine how weird that would be.

That's what I did when I watched Fraggle Rock again for the first time since childhood

I made a big pot of popcorn on the stove, poured it into a paper shopping bag with a layer of salt on the bottom, then poured a bunch of liquefied butter on top of it all, scrunched the top of the bag closed and shook it all up thoroughly

I cut away the part of the bag that didn't have popcorn in it and sat down in front of my TV with a can of soda poured into glasses I found on eBay that I used to have as a kid and allowed myself to be transported to my childhood as the theme song began like something out of that Proust story

It's never exactly the same, but you remember the road that got you there

are you ever about to put on a movie but you realize you don't really want to watch The Movie, you want to be eight years old on a rainy saturday, and under your favorite butterfly blanket, and mom made hot chocolate and popcorn with extra butter, and you're watching The Movie for the first time ever? what are you supposed to do then

at this point I’m tired of putting “prefer not to answer” on my job applications when they ask me my gender. Remove the question. I will never answer.
