One of us” — she motioned between them, drawing a circuit with her finger — “is gonna have to distract Julius.” Julius is Bey’s bodyguard. “For now, we can tell our adoring fanbase that Blue Ivy goes here. And two lucky students were able to meet her backstage. What do you think?”

      𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢  𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚏𝚝  𝚝𝚘  look  down  at  martina  the  moment  she  looks  up  .  “  what  if  we  just  say  we’re  ppc  members  and  we’re  here  to  check  up  on  everything  backstage  ?  ”  they’re  fairly  certain  that  martina  is  part  of  the  ppc  but  they  could  be  wrong  !  “  i  don’t  know  about  blue  ivy  going  here  .  she’s  like  nine  and  gallagher  has  advertised  itself  to  be  a  university  so  what  if  we  say  bey’s  here  to  scout  potential  colleges  for  blue  ivy  ?  and  we  can  keep  the  two  lucky  students  were  able  to  meet  her  backstage  .  ”

         “ THAT WAS THE GOAL, ”   he smiles crookedly, thinking about his conversation with nur. that was definitely not his goal until she mentioned it. tommy doesn’t really GET blair sutton – they seem nice, or nice enough, but half the time they talk, he’s not sure if he should take it seriously.   “ sorry about that, ”   he says dryly, and normally he’d offer his assistance, but he’s not sure he WANTS them to bother him about stella. tommy doesn’t even know what the hell he’d say.   “ want to get a drink ? ”

      “  𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎  𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚗  .  ”  the  only  thing  chaotic  about  blair  is  how  they  present  themselves  .  thembo  energy  to  the  max  .  they  generally  like  to  save  the  chaos  for  zu  or  when  they’re  together  .  “  yeah  ,  i’m  down  to  get  a  drink  !  what  are  we  doing  ,  shots  ?  or  are  you  not  trying  to  get  super  fucked  up  tonight  .  ”

         “ IF ONLY OUR BIRTHDAYS WERE CLOSER, we could throw a joint birthday party, ”   kass frowns, as if their birthdays aren’t exactly six months apart. but blair is the closest cousin kass has in age  ( that she knows about ) .   “ but it’s fine, you deserve a graduation party of your own. i’m not even having one. i don’t know who i’d invite that wasn’t at gallagher aren’t, ”   she smiles slightly. she’s admittedly also not in much of a celebrating mood ;   kass would rather use her time to find her and claire an apartment, and then go off to italy with her girlfriend.   “ i guess so, ”   kass laughs, following blair to the bar.   “ what kind of shots do you wanna do ?   i feel like we should do something fancy, if we’re gonna get her to say yes. ever have a green tea shot ? ”

      “  𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚕  𝚝𝚎𝚌𝚑𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢  ,  we  could  throw  a  joint  birthday  party  .  i’ll  just  be  celebrating  my  half-birthday  !  ”  they  muse  with  a  grin  .  “  i  guess  we’ll  see  if  i  throw  one  ,  ”  blair  shrugs  .  they’re  not  committed  to  the  idea  of  having  a  graduation  party  .  but  they’ll  have  to  see  in  three  years  .  “  a  green  tea  shot  ?  ”  makes  a  face  at  the  name  .  “  i  don’t  think  i  have  .  but  if  it’s  classy  then  i’m  all  for  it  .  i  was  about  to  suggest  that  we  do  lemon  drop  shots  ,  ”  they  chuckle  .  “  i  don’t  know  why  but  i  feel  like  after  the  years  your  mom  has  had  ,  she  might  be  more  inclined  to  just  shoot  tequila  shots  .  ”

      “  𝚘𝚑  𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕  𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚑  𝚒’𝚖  𝚍𝚘𝚠𝚗  ,  ”  grins  at  the  blonde  and  offers  her  their  hand  .  “  we  learned  to  foxtrot  and  for  what  ?  to  never  use  it  again  ?  i’ll  pass  on  that  .  ”

“Hey, superstar! Looking gorg, as always!” Martina forgot that seeing Blair’s supposed to leave her starstruck, easily giving them a side-hug so that she didn’t disturb their drink. Also forgot to detach from said side-hug, her head leaning against their shoulder as they pitched their idea. Light bulb! “Hear me out: why would we do that when we can have Queen Bey herself in a video?”

       “  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔  𝚢𝚘𝚞  !  ”  blair  playfully  flips  their  hair  over  their  shoulder  .  “  and  your  look  ?  ”  does  a  chef’s  kiss  motion  .  they  lean  into  martina  as  she  leans  her  head  against  their  shoulder  .  “  we  technically  could  make  it  a  series  of  tiktoks  ,  ”  they  muse  .  “  i  just  hope  no  one  asks  for  a  story  time  because  what  are  we  gonna  say  ?  we  go  to  a  rich  kid  school  and  we  managed  to  get  beyoncé  ?  ”

         THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT BEING AROUND BLAIR that makes kass feel stronger, sniffing away her tears to offer her older cousin a small smile.   “ you and me both. i don’t think the family could’ve handled two suttons graduating together, ”   she teases. at least val and blair will have each other next year.   “ you want to take shots with my mom ? ”   she sniffs again, but this time kass laughs.   “ good luck convincing her, but i’ll take a shot, sure. ”

      “  𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢  𝚍𝚎𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚢  𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍𝚗’𝚝  be  able  to  handle  it  .  but  at  least  it’d  give  us  an  excuse  to  throw  a  joint  grad  party  .  ”  they’re  hit  with  a  pang  of  nostalgia  thinking  back  to  the  days  where  they  were  sure  they’d  graduate  with  kass  right  by  their  side  .  “  well  she’s  retiring  and  it’s  been  a  tough  year  so  ...  ”  they  trail  off  ,  grabbing  her  hand  and  leading  them  over  to  the  bar  .  “  i’m  literally  not  going  to  have  you  or  HER  next  year  so  might  as  well  make  it  count  !  ”

         “ BLAIR, ”   he nods to the sutton, glancing down at their outfit.   “ you look very nice. ”   he’s expecting some kind of comment about stella or maire, but blair’s bluntness throws him off for a moment.   “ ah, yes. ”   why are they asking him instead of stella ?   “ i don’t know where she went off to, if you’re looking for her. ”

      “  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚜  !  𝚢𝚘𝚞  𝚝𝚘𝚘  .  very  saint  and  sinner  ,  ”  they  chuckle  .  blair’s  more  than  a  little  curious  about  what’s  going  on  with  their  best  friend  and  tommy  .  but  if  she’s  not  going  to  divulge  in  that  information  then  they  might  as  well  ask  him  .  it’s  worth  a  shot  !  “  damn  ,  ”  they  huff  .  “  and  here  i  was  about  to  bother  her  about  you  .  ”  the  way  they  say  that  makes  it  hard  to  determine  whether  or  not  they’re  joking  .

       “ NO REALLY, I’M OKAY, ”   she sniffs, taking a tissue out of her purse and lightly dabbing her eye. her nearly month-long hunt for the perfect waterproof mascara will finally be tested tonight and tomorrow, but kass had expected it, going into the evening.   “ they’re happy tears, really. i’m just… really going to miss this place. and everyone looks so beautiful, ”   her voice cracks, the drama queen.   “ have you tried the cupcakes ?   i made them myself. ”     @gallagherstart​

      “  𝚒  𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎  ,  𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚑  !  ”  blair  nods  .  “  well  i  gotta  say  this  place  won’t  be  the  same  without  you  .  it’s  making  me  feel  a  little  sad  that  we  aren’t  graduating  together  ,  ”  dramatically  sighs  .  “  but  don’t  cry  !  why  don’t  we  take  some  shots  ?  we’ll  even  get  your  mom  to  join  in  on  it  .  ”

        “ I DON’T KNOW, it just feels a little weird bitching about gallagher’s fuck ups when your aunt is responsible for most of them. does she give you any warning ahead of time, so you know how to fill your bingo board ? ”   the bingo thing is obviously a joke, but caden will 100% be making one for next year, just in case. 

      “  𝚊𝚛𝚎  𝚢𝚘𝚞  𝚏𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚜  with  mira  ?  ”  they  had  ask  .  she’s  vocal  about  gallagher’s  fuck  ups  and  they  really  can’t  blame  her  .  “  i  mean  ,  it’d  be  nice  if  my  aunt  did  give  me  warning  ahead  of  time  .  it  would’ve  made  things  a  lot  easier  .  ”  not  to  mention  ,  a  way  for  them  to  mentally  prepare  themselves  .  still  ,  they’re  so  gonna  make  a  bingo  card  for  next  year  .

“Peaceful is boring anyway. I mean not that I want bad things to happen!” Mandy quickly stammered out when she realized that she had made fires and double agents and other chaos seem like fun times. “I just meant like fun and safe not peaceful things!”

      “  𝚊𝚏𝚝𝚎𝚛  𝚊𝚕𝚕  𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜  𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚘𝚜  ?  i  think  peace  is  underrated  if  anything  ,  ”  blair  says  with  a  laugh  .  they’d  love  to  have  at  least  two  days  of  peace  on  campus  ,  but  they’re  not  holding  out  much  hope  .  “  peaceful  can  also  be  fun  .  it’s  only  if  you  can’t  sit  still  that  it  seems  boring  .  ”

     “i certainly didn’t,” raina says with a laugh, shaking her head. there’s been too much going on, raina doesn’t know what else to expect. “hopefully the rest of the year is pretty quiet. i think it’s what we all deserve at this point.”

      “  𝚠𝚎  𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍  𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢  be  so  lucky  if  the  rest  of  the  year  goes  by  peacefully  .  ”  they  refrain  from  dramatically  shushing  raina  when  she  says  the  word  ‘  quiet  ’  .  it’s  almost  taboo  at  this  point  !  “  i  don’t  know  how  much  more  chaos  i  can  take  this  year  .  ”

“Oh, Minamoto?” he asks, putting the pieces together. Sam thinks he’s good with names and faces, but he’s not so good at remembering how all those names and faces connect to one another. “You know what, you do kind of look alike,” he nods. “I still think you could rock a banana wig, Blair!” he interjects with a wide smile. “It’d be like an editorial moment, you know? Push the envelope without breaking the envelope.” He’s definitely heard that from a children’s show.

      “  𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚘𝚗𝚎  𝚊𝚗𝚍  𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢  .  ”  blair  confirms  with  a  nod  .  “  i  forgot  to  mention  ,  she’s  a  japanese  princess  so  if  you  come  across  her  ,  you’ll  have  to  bow  .  ”  the  way  it’s  said  makes  it  hard  to  determine  if  they’re  joking  or  not  .  they  did  promise  their  sister  that  they’d  tell  everyone  to  bow  to  her  .  “  either  it’s  an  editorial  moment  ,  or  a  regret  that’ll  be  documented  FOREVER  ,  ”  dramatically  shudders  .  “  i  think  i’ll  stick  to  my  natural  color  for  now  .  but  i  have  to  admit  ,  i  do  miss  coloring  my  hair  .  ”

She’s putting some of her things in a box that she’s shipping out back home in order to not have as much to carry at the end of the month. Mostly it’s been silent which is rare for the two in the room and her eyes lift to meet Blair’s. “You know I still expect daily reminders of my fairy resemblance every morning. Even if it’s over text or video.” 

      𝚝𝚑𝚎  𝚜𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎  𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝  fills  the  room  just  feels  ODD  .  maire  packing  some  of  her  belongings  makes  it  feel  that  much  more  real  that  their  friend  is  graduating  and  leaving  gallagher  for  good  .  they  turn  to  face  her  .  just  as  they’re  about  to  break  the  silence  ,  she  beats  her  to  it  .  “  would  snapchat  videos  suffice  ?  and  also  is  this  timezone  dependent  ?  i  gotta  schedule  it  correctly ��.  ”
