On this installment of “What the Hell is Lwaxana Troi Wearing?”:
Lwaxana Troi is wearing the traditional Betazoid wedding outfit.
Fits just right.
Looks like a million bucks, and she wears it with confidence.
11/10. Fuck yeah, Lwaxana.

Another installment of “What the Hell is Lwaxana Troi Wearing?”
This is her fourth look in 31 hours, during the episode “The Cost of Living,” and I have no idea how she fit all of those outfits into that one case.
So this one has a base of tighter skirt, with a straight bodice, over a web-patterned long sleeve. Because it’s Lwaxana, there’s a really dramatic bustle on the back. I’m counting at least three patterns, and... fringe. Gold fringe. I wish the straight gold bodice came up higher, but I suppose that if it did, we wouldn’t get the feathers under the fringe. I do not know how I feel about those feathers. There’s a little feather moment at her shoulder as well, like a tribble.
And of course, chandelier earrings. Not Lwaxana Troi without those.

In this very special installment of “What the Hell is Lwaxana Troi Wearing?” we look at an anti-Lwaxana dress: it’s her future MIL’s wedding dress, and she hates it. This is her third look of the episode “The Cost of Living,” where she has asked her valet, Mr Homn, to tailor it to her.
She complains that it’s not naked enough, and asks if they might lower the bodice or raise the hemline, but I suspect that it’s mainly the conservative quality and color that she objects to: in a more garish palette, this dress would actually fit in well with her wardrobe. She tends to go for a long sleeve (check), multiple patterns (check), and a big dramatic moment somewhere around her waist/rear (check).
I actually really like this dress. The fit and style are giving Vintage Terran, the color and fabric texture are giving Space Race... but that wig, y’all. The wig is giving Sophia Petrillo.

It’s time for another “What the Hell is Lwaxana Troi Wearing?”
This is dress #2 from the episode “The Cost of Living.”
A fitted long-sleeve bodice in a tapestry pattern, with a Klingon boob window, cabochons, a giant bow, and a scarf-like gauzy skirt. Accented with a red wig, and ornate chandelier earrings. Palette is fabulous, looks great on her.
10/10. No notes.

It’s time for another installment of “What the Hell is Lwaxana Troi Wearing?”
In her first outfit from “The Cost of Living, Lwaxana boards the Enterprise in a gold and copper ball gown with a high slit up the front, revealing blue leggings. There’s a long-sleeve black shirt under it as well, with sparkling floral patterns. And let’s not forget the jewelry, which is half the fun: large bead drop earrings with a colorful matching necklace.
Imma give this one 4/5 stars. This dress is very Lwaxana, as is the jewelry, and the gold/copper palette looks great on her. But the long-sleeve top underneath reminds me of when you’re a tween, and you pick out a grown-up dress for a school dance, but your parents tell you that it’s too revealing, and make you wear a shirt underneath that obviously doesn’t go.

Lwaxana Troi and Alexander Rozhenko become BFFs. Not important or ground-breaking, just fun. And this episode won Emmy awards for make-up and costuming.

This is the best Wes episode.
Don’t argue with me.
You won’t, though.
Because it is.

Solid sci-fi and Star Trek storytelling, awesome FX and model-work. A temporal causality loop concept could make this episode very copypasta, but doesn’t.

Star Trek made an enby episode. Best I can say is that an attempt was made.
