I had this image of Sans trying to haul an instrument that’s larger then him, because he is just so Little 😭 (ok, I’m sure that a Cello would be smaller but, it’s fun to just….not follow real world logic for a joke doodle xd)

Small Headcanon I just came up with

Gaster is un helping to Sans, apart from the fact that he’s an Asshole 90% of the time, is because since Monsters Magic is pretty much gone. Physical Strength is favored now of days, So Gaster just tries to make Sans physically stronger, since—look at him. However, I can already tell it goes basically no where. Gaster would probably have to just carry it himself since I know how heavy some String instruments can be. (I would know, I played the violin in like 3rd grade, and I was struggling to carry that case from half way across my school. But that could also be because I was 9 :))

Haunting the Narrative

God, this was so fun to edit! I finally had an excuse to edit Chara XD (Even if with the limited appearances)

I feel like the term of “haunting the narrative” fits chara PERFECTLY, because that shadow lingers over all of BTA. Charas actions still greatly affect some people and they died almost a whole decade ago.

I made the effects look like one of Gasters hallucinations, the glitchy effect, the retro dream like vibe, the slight blur to make it disorienting =)

I love adding the grainy effects, makes it look like an unwanted Memory

Okay, I have no clue if this is recency bias, but this is hands down my favorite BTA episode! I love everything about this episode. The colors, The character poses, The LORE, The dialogue, JUST EVERYTHING MAKES ME WANNA GO FERAL. (You can tell because I’m writing this ahead of time XD)

The scars from the ball room seems ever lasting, isn’t it? Like a stain that you can’t clean up. Time will past, but the history is permeant. Oh, a small flash back? Chara grabbing his hand, giving out a welcoming gesture, Gaster looking Naive, No scars, Color on him, Gasters friendly smile and Charas wild smile, It’s a recipe for destruction. Oh, and how can I forget everyone’s favorite character? EYE GUY!!!

When Gaster became “vunrable”, that’s when he started to have a PTSD episode (At least I’m assuming it’s PTSD) Also, I love the touch of making his eyes purple when he did start to hallucinate Chara, because Colors are meant to represent emotion and expression (besides just being colors-) Gasters monochromic color palette is too represent his blunt, emotionaless, dull exterior, like a way for it to be impossible for most people to get in on him. Also, we get to see some new scars, or some old healed ones. Chara really scared him, huh? Not to mention blinding him and almost slicing off his hand, might be a cause of some trauma, with the addition of him having a seemingly a Good relationship with his mom,

Which Chara most likely killed, and was maybe about to “kill Gaster” So, that he can see his mother again;) In dust. Chara probably killed most of the family members of the 3 main characters, huh. It was a massacre, after all. God, it was such a treat to see Chara again!! All monsters are just Matter, huh? But, it’s okay, Gaster! You (and every relevant BTA) character *matter* to me!! Even if everything is surrounded by a red presence, the blood of the monsters. Also, no wonder Gaster never goes by his first name anymore!

Siqua is too caring for this world. It would make sense for Siqua to know about Gasters trauma because they were pretty close. I really like how Siqua gently tries to snap him out of it and immediately started to comfort him when he comes back to. And, Gaster, after having his senses come back to him, immediately builds up his wall again, his blunt exterior, like he doesn’t want to experience that again, even if him and Siqua were close, un treated trauma can be a reason for distance:3 Which, I assume that’s what Siqua is talking about when she says “I really think you should (get treatment)” because, Siqua doesn’t specialize in that field, so she doesn’t have a say, medically, at least. Also, you think Gaster wants to be even more vunrable to a random stranger? Gaster is his own therapist! But uh, yeah, maybe Asgore should just never host in the ball room again! But will Gaster actually go home? Or just go to work? Eh, it’s probably irrelevant! ((But will Alphys ever get to know Gaster?))

Lastly, I got to put my “totally” amazing puzzle skills to use. The title I was able to get “inner” and I know that you said that only those letters matter, but uh, I still went it and took note of the other letters, because what if you’re lying! However, it looks like you are telling the truth, but it’s better to be safe then sorry XD

The wait was so worth it for the student party, now we will see what happens next ;)

Before the Anger— episode 77, "StudENt paRty... fINality... (pt. 4)"

Wow! What a long episode!!! This is the first time since ep 42 that we've seen this lineless artstyle, but now I've given it a refresh.

Isn't gaster just the worst lol? But we already knew that. Anyways, that's the end the student party plot!! I decided to leave it with a bang :)

((Siqua was perfect. She was so gentle, so soft, yet she consistently lured a commanding presence. Siqua went on to explain that, since Gaster was too shy to conduct the interview, Siqua decided to take it off his hands. Alphys couldn't believe how hard she was falling for this perfect stranger. Siqua added at the end of the interview with a playful grin, “Gaster is a sweetheart once you get to know him. But steer clear when he doesn't have his coffee, hmhm!”))

Ok, Alec, just because you found a way to give yourself magic green powers that can kill anything, doesn’t automatically make you a god, like calm down 💔 Do I need to remind you what happened when you messed with God like Experiment YOU Made? You almost died and your failed experiment turned into dust, which you proceeded to use for this experiment. You’re lucky that being almost killed by your own experiment thing is very brushed over, but not. You’re also lucky that experiment was a husk and non sentient! But uhh, looks like you are your own subject, huh? You always find a way to make best of a situation.

I had this drawing just lying around un finished until I saw the latest episode. Then, I found a perfect opportunity to finish my drawing of Gaster crashing out, he looked like he’s been a little busy, even if this research is going absolutely no where! He must be really passionate about his work!

Woah, Gaster! That's a lot of emotion, there! Perhaps this place is opening up some old scars?

Look, it's Dr. Lepidoptera! She's not very important in BTA, but you might recognise her from UA, if you have read it. She doesn't know boundaries very well, does she? That's the first time we've seen anybody touch Gaster, every other time it was him purposefully touching other people (picking up Sans, grabbing Alphys's shoulders, once in a brief flashback when his silhouette holds Siqua's hand, although that was more symbolic than literal). Lepi specifically touched his hands... yikes :)

((”Make yourself comfortable!” The beautiful woman gestured to a chair at her desk, and Alphys sat. Voice trembling, she said, “H-hello, Dr. Archer, I'm… D-Dr. Alphys??” The woman laughed; a closed-mouth giggle, “No need for such politeness! Go ahead and call me Siqua. I have a feeling we will get along just fine. Oh, and don't mind Gaster’s bluntness. Don't tell him I said this, but he's just shy.”))

Did someone order a side of negativity?

I was going to make this into multiple parts, but I couldn’t figure out what to draw and whatever I did drew looked off, so in typical Aster Fashion, here’s some dialogue!

O: Just think about it! Maybe people will actually like you more if you just give them a smile?! And don’t say that you can’t smile, I’ve seen you do it, Mister!

E: How many people like you in this city again? Ah, don’t say any of your family members…or me for some reason. Being positive is just a waste of time. You get nothing out of being it.

O: You get something out of it! You get the bliss feeling of not knowing what this amazing day has upon you! It’s like a mystery gift with a big bow, you don’t know what you’re going to get, but you can choose how you can react to it!

E: Did you forget I have a public image? I’m lucky enough that we’re usually alone when we ughh…”hang out” I can’t be seeing being happy by being nice to people, especially lower class people, you’re a exception because you never left me alone. You’re extremely annoying, but you’re persistent. If you wish to even get a sliver of our fortune, I’d recommend you would use that to your advantage, my dad does and loves pestering to his buyers to somehow buy the same item for double the price. He’s great at putting his foot in the door, I would know. That can be your only key to a life here.

O: hehehehe!!!!!

E: What?

O: Ohhhh, nothing! Just noticing the sun was shining brighter above you!

E: Okay?

O: Didn’t you say you had to get going? Hehe!

E: Yeah, I have 300 pages of advanced calculus to complete before I can see you again, plus that history report my dad wanted me to do, and the science competition I’m studying for, I’ll be busy, busy. Anyway, bye.

O: Onyx, you are so good at being friends! It’s like he’s getting nicer to you everyday! Now, I can compose those songs I’ve been meaning to get at!

(As much as I love these 2, writing their dynamic is kinda difficult because how often their friendship is one sided, but it’s not like Eli hates Onyx, He’s just a very logic by the books kid. Eli DOES care, he just does a good job at hiding it from mostly everyone, if that makes sense 😭)

Before the Anger— episode 75, "Student Party, Finally! (pt. 2)"

Achievement unlocked: mention the CORE!

Wow! Drawing these backgrounds was so much fun! I tried out a different kind of style, with some hatching. I also changed the texture overlay, but I'm gonna bring the old one back lol. I can't say I didn't try something new, tho!

What IS the royal employee system? Well, each department has different rules, the departments being: royal guard; royal sciences; royal weathering (which has been mentioned briefly); and royal caretaking (not yet relevant, but will be in season 2).

For our purposes, royal sciences is the only truly relevant department. The roles in order of most importance are; the King (obviously. He can order anyone around lol). Head of the Royal Sciences Department (HRSD), which is often shortened to just "head". This is Gaster's role. Handmen, often shortened to just "hands". This is Siqua and Alphys's role. They are trusted and established scientists (usually two) who help the head, but can also perform independent studies. Below them are various Assistants, who are also established scientists, but mainly perform the behind the scenes science. Interns are in the process of becoming scientists.

Majority of Royal students become assistants. Either that, or they work in outside labs, which occasionally catch some of the overflow work from the castle.

((After what felt like an eternity, Alphys and Dr. Gaster finally reached the end of the hallway. In front of them was a door, simply labeled “Dr. Archer: Handman”. The door opened, and as Alphys braced herself for the struggles of social interaction, her worries suddenly disappeared. The door revealed the most beautiful woman she's ever seen.))
