Misguided Ghosts - Role Play
In the year 2017, the Elliot family consisting of David, Colette, Eva, Craig and Annabelle decided that a move would be the best for everyone after Rebecca, their mother was killed in a house fire that not only destroyed their lives and family, but their business as well. Moving to Bentley, New York they acquire a place that is known to all in the area as the Arlon property. This building serves as not only their house, but also their business- which in this case is a funeral home. Over the years before the Elliot’s bought the property the house had been changed into many different things from just a house to a mental health clinic where a family of therapists worked out of their home. But originally the Arlon’s ran a funeral business themselves and as the Elliot’s turn the place back into it’s original state it seems as if they have hit the jackpot. Over the years many tragedies have fallen over the home, starting with the story of the Arlon’s and developing throughout the years. Some of the towns folk seem to think that it’s haunted…  But that’s just foolish… right?
Quite a few pre-made characters open, (more being made currently!) along with original characters being accepted, under a few conditions! Original characters must be ghosts haunting the Arlon property. You must read the rules for the dead and be sure your character follows them. Also it must be a valid story line that makes sense and fits with the rp! :)

Misguided Ghosts - Role Play
Carver Maddison | 21 | Dead | FC: Ashton Kutcher | OPEN
Carver was one of those people who always seemed to excel at everything he did. Good grades, a lot of friends, funny, charming, witty… Honestly the list could go on forever. But one of his best traits was of course, his pranks. Small, large, hilarious, silly, dangers, calm, Carver did them all. He tended to voted class clown in the yearbook, and was constantly sent to the principals office when things got a little out of hand- but of course, he always made it out scott free. One of the things people who knew him would always say would be how lucky he is, how everything always seemed to go his way.. but after the car accident that took his life no one would mention that quality again. Sure Carver was lucky alright, lucky enough that he was killed on impact in that car crash because the tree branch going straight through his arm, and the car catching on fire certainly wasn’t something that any person would want to have to live through. Due to the damage done to his body Carver’s family chose for him to be cremated, by none other then the Elliot’s. Being cremated in the home caused his soul to get trap, and now he’s stuck.. a ghost forever on the property. At his funeral he attempted to reach out to his sister, to get her to see that he was still alive- but it was later that he found out that he actually wasn’t. The only thing Carver has found to cheer himself up, is to continue on with his practical jokes. Now days, of course he only sticks to small pranks- not wanting to hurt anyone and due to the fact that he figured out the farther away from the house that he travels, the less he is really there. He stays hidden to those living in the house, although he does in enjoy bothering them invisibly- but his real fun is going after the girl ghosts in the house. What’s better then being stuck with a bunch of hot girls for eternity? As far as Carver is concerned.. not too much. Except being alive again.
——————————————————————————————————-
Talia Maddison | 17 | Living | FC: Elizabeth Gillies | TAKEN
Talia always tried to be a chipper girl, attempted to get along with people, attempted to not fight with her siblings, attempted to do what her parents told her.. But when everywhere you turn it feels like a new disaster it makes it rather hard to keep a happy face. Talia always found the best way to deal with things was through sarcasm. It helped to not only mask the pain she was feeling on the inside but to also make her seem as if she was just a funny person. Talia’s older brother Carver died a few days after the Elliot’s had finished setting everything up in their home/funeral home. He would serve to be their first patient, and cause Talia’s life to change drastically. She had always been the favorite of her brother and he was hers as well, sharing nearly everything together. His death tore her apart, and things haven’t been the same for her since. Due to his injuries it was decided it would be best for him to be cremated, which ripped away what Talia believe was her last chance to really say goodbye to her big brother. During his funeral service, Talia was positive that she saw him in the funeral home and therefore became obsessed with finding him and finding out what was going on with that place. She decides the best idea would be to befriend one of the sisters, and find any and all excuses possible to be inside the home.

Misguided Ghosts - Role Play
Noah Caine | 19 | Living | FC: Evan Peters | OPEN
Noah had never particularly blended in too well with his peers, not to say that he had no friends, or went through life lonely- just his crowd of friends had always been a bit more strange then most. A freshman at a community college, Noah was still unsure of where he wanted to go with his life, what he wanted to do, who he wanted to be. Noah always managed to come off as a bit too high strung. Dealing with the pressure of his Mother wanting him to be perfect, and attempting to hide his psychic abilities he became a bit of an asshole, as he attempted to store away how he really felt, and the things that he was actually seeing and hearing. When he was young it was easy, many children have imaginary friends, and strange vivid dreams- but when it continued into adolescence Noah’s parents finally realized there was something wrong. Taking him to see various Doctors and various psychologists and therapists they could only determine that he had Psychosis, in which he had hallucinations both typical and auditory; meaning that not only did he see things but at various times it was just voices. For a long time Noah stayed on different medications to help deal with his apparent problems, but as he got older he realized they didn’t help anything and were only serving in making him drowsy and keeping him in almost a state of high. To this day his parents still believe he takes his medication, but in reality he hasn’t touched the pills in years. Noah discovered that he could possibly be hearing the dead talk, and seeing glimpses into their lives during his hallucinations after going to a psychic with a group of friends one Halloween. The woman did not want to talk to him in front of everyone but discussed the matter with him afterwards. Noah of course acted as if he had no idea what she was talking about but on the inside he was terrified, and also completely against the idea of being what he believed was a complete freak. Only a few select people are aware of what Noah hears and sees, although they have no idea that it is really the dead attempting to contact him. Noah has a tendency to come off as a bit of an asshole, mostly because he would love it if he could just blend in with those around him, but this is a hard task considering the fact that he lives so close to the Arlon house, and is always almost surrounded by various spirits. Sometimes he still forgets that the voices he hears are not always voices of those around him causing him to get into awkward situations in which he uses anger to get out of. Although he is terrified of his apparent gift he still wants to learn more about it, and when a new family moves into the Arlon household he believes this could be his chance. Noticing Annabelle the youngest Elliot daughter constantly hanging out around the graveyard he sees this as a chance to not only learn a bit about what’s going on with his life, but possibly find someone who might understand him, seeing that they both seem to have a strange but obvious connection to the dead.
—————————————————————————————
Charlie Haynes. | 21 | Living | FC: Ashley Benson. | OPEN
Charlie Haynes has a gift, and she’s known it since the day she moved into her farm house next to Arlon property. It started appearing at the age of six when she was out back playing in the field and stumbled a bit too close to the house next door. She noticed things that no one else saw. People roaming the streets with wounds that seemed too horrific for the people bearing them to be living. When Charlie was younger her parents just believed she had imaginary friends, that is until she began describing what they looked like. She was quickly put in therapy for her outrageous imagination and depressing thoughts. They put her on every medication in the book but nothing worked, the people were still there and Charlie was convinced that she was going crazy. As she grew up she gained the courage to research and look deeper into these thoughts and visions, trying to find anything to explain the things that she saw. She started to realize that these “imaginary” beings were more realistic the closer she was to the Arlon property. Charlie’s parents didn’t know what was wrong with her, and were not only worried themselves, but also for her younger siblings who her actions were starting to affect. Refusing to leave with her family, they decided to move out when she was twenty taking her siblings and working out a system to send Charlie money each month for herself and the house. Charlie doesn’t mind that her family left, preferring to be alone and work with the everyday struggle of understanding and controlling her gift. She often tries to communicate with the spirits but tends to stray away from living beings. Charlie was alarmed when the Elliot family moved in and turned the house back into it’s original state as a funeral home. Charlie tends to spend most of her time locked up in her house with the windows blocked out and most of the lights on, and is known to the rest of the town as their own resident basket case.

Misguided Ghosts- Role Play.
Craig Joseph Elliot | 17 | Living | FC: Logan Lerman | OPEN
Craig tries a lot harder to fit in then anyone would really expect. To most he just seems to be a funny carefree guy, who almost always has a smile on his face. At a young age Craig took interest in his Father, David’s funeral business his curiosity growing along with his younger twin sister, Annabelle’s at quite a young age. From the day their questions began to be answered, and once they actually slipped down into the morgue Craig, along with Annabelle couldn’t seem to stay away. Slowly but surely Craig learned about the business along with his sister, but he enjoyed watching much more then participating. Although there were times in which Craig would help such as cleaning off the bodies and helping to move around heavier items he mostly liked to watch. One afternoon after his Father had just received a body Craig found himself alone with it. It was an older man, and from the looks of his family who had brought him, he seemed to be rather rich. Craig’s curiosity taking hold he couldn’t help but search the pockets of the mans pants, in which he found a gold pocket watch. Craig smiled happily, shoving the item in his pocket before his Father and sister reappeared. This particular item is something Craig still carries around to this day, but it was this watch which started his kleptomania tendencies. Craig no longer just steals from dead bodies, but he pickpockets people on the street, customers who come into the shop and has slowly been trying to figure out how to break into lockers, and hopes to eventually work up the nerve to rob a store. Craig himself isn’t positive why he started stealing, but even he knows that it began to escalate after the death of his Mother. Like his twin sister, Craig is good at hiding the pain he truly feels- but since the death of his Mother he has never felt more alone. The day after discovering she was dead Craig took a long walk, returning back to the hotel they were currently staying at with three wallets, a necklace and two watches. The only person aware that he has a problem is Annabelle, mostly because the two hold a rather strong connection as most twins do and it is rather hard to keep anything from the other. Although Craig is aware Annabelle knows what he does, he is also aware she wouldn’t try to make him stop. He has never been sure if it is because she has her own issues to do, or her philosophy that you should do whatever you want as long as it makes you happy, but he is grateful for it. Craig tries to look at the move as a new start and something that is actually good, but from the second he steps foot onto the Arlon property he is already aware that there is something not quite right about their new home, and he is determined to figure out what.

Misguided Ghosts - Role Play
Cal Arlon | Dead | FC: Jackson Rathbone | RESERVED
As hard as he tried, Cal Arlon was never the perfect son. Growing up in his older brother’s shadow had taken a toll on him, causing him to feel worthless; inferior. He stumbled through life while his brother succeeded with no effort at all, until his father’s illness leveled the playing field. “It’s only temporary,” Their father had said, “just until I feel better.” At first they were hopeful, but as time went on, they realized their occupations had become permanent. Finally, Cal had a chance to make his father proud; it was his time to shine. For the first few months, the funeral flourished under the capable hands of the Arlon brothers. While Aiden took care of the financial aspects, Cal took care of the handiwork, tending to the bodies and preparing them like his father had taught him. As the days became longer and business grew larger, Cal began to go out to the local bars, using his pocket change on bets. One night, Cal won $300 on a football bet. It was nothing major, but it was enough to increase his confidence; maybe luck was on his side. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Soon, Cal was caught in a downward spiral of debt and losses, slowly but surely depleting his family of all their funds. He was tired of lying; the men he owed were showing up daily, it was only a matter of time before his family found out. For days he went without sleep, trying to find a solution to the situation, until he came to the realization that there was only one way out: death. Cal woke up the next morning with a splitting headache, and no recollection of what had happened the previous night. Something was wrong, terribly wrong, he could feel it. He could smell the blood that slicked the walls before he had even seen the bodies.  Slowly but surely, the memories began to come back to him. How could he have done such a thing? How could he be standing there, when he could see himself hanging from a tree? For decades, Cal hid in the shadows in shame, steering clear of any residents that came into the house. He finally made himself known after the Elliot’s moved in, thinking of the new funeral business as a second chance to prove himself to his father.
————————————————————————————————
Aiden Matthew Arlon | Dead | FC: Ian Somerhalder | OPEN
Whatever Aiden started, Aiden completed. From a young age, it was apparent how driven Aiden was; the determination that emanated from him seemed to have no end. As Aiden grew, his main goal soon became to make his father proud—which didn’t seem to be hard for him, unlike his little brother, Cal. Aiden and Cal shared the same blood, but they were like night and day. Aiden didn’t have to try and be successful, he just was; Cal, on the other hand, tried and failed miserably. Despite their differences, Aiden felt the need to protect Cal, threatening anyone that even thought about hurting his brother. Things changed after Aiden graduated high school and enrolled at the local community college. He spent less and less time with his little brother, and more time studying for his classes and working for his father in the funeral home as his financial advisor. After his father became ill, he took over the entire business, dropping out of school until his father could heal. For the first few months, everything went smoothly. Aiden took care of everything except the bodies, which he left for Cal to do. As both business and bodies rolled in, Aiden focused on families——the essential part of the business—-neglecting the financial aspects completely. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that Aiden realized something was terribly wrong. He spent hours counting, and then recounting their funds, but nothing was adding up correctly. Money had gone missing. When Aiden confronted Cal, Cal denied any involvement, accusing Aiden of not counting correctly. With several funerals that upcoming weekend, Aiden set the matter aside, focusing primarily on continuing to bring in profit. When Aiden fell asleep that night, he never woke up. After realizing what he had become, Aiden couldn’t stay angry with his brother. His brother was pathetic, he had no idea what he had caused; now it was Aiden’s job to make sure it didn’t happen again. Aiden, using both his charm and good looks, loves to charm the ladies of the household, but acts as both a lover and a therapist to many of the residents. After the Elliot’s move in, he finds himself drawn to David’s only son, Craig, who reminds him of Cal. Aiden is determined to find a way to befriend Craig, hoping to play a big-brother role in the young man’s life.

Misguided Ghosts - Role Play
Lilly Newton | Dead | FC: Amber Heard | OPEN
As far as Lilly was concerned, she and Adam were meant to be. It didn’t matter that they had only dated for three months, she was in love, and she could feel it. Her and Adam fought frequently; so when he showed up at her house claiming it was over, she assumed he was bluffing. “He could never leave me,” she said to her friends the next day, “He’ll come crawling back.”She waited, and soon hours turned into days and days turned into weeks. He couldn’t have forgotten about her, had he? They were in love, they were soul mates. Lilly wasn’t going to let things end so easily. She began watching him from a distance; watching him as he went from class to class, even skipping her own to follow him during his free periods. Her grades quickly began to plummet, beginning to isolate herself from her family and friends. She didn’t need them, anyways. She needed Adam. One month later, Lilly was almost sure she was winning him back. Instead of sending her calls to voicemail, he was picking up and disconnecting. That was a start, right? Everything seemed to be working in her favor until a small, petite brunette made her way into the picture. Suddenly, everything Lilly had hoped for was crashing and burning in front of her. Maybe if she talked some sense into him, he would understand. They were made for each other. One afternoon, she made her way to his house with a bottle of white wine and a batch of peanut butter cookies; his favorite. Maybe, just maybe, he would remember what he loved about her. When he opened the door, she quickly handed him the cookies, keeping the bottle of wine hidden in her purse; it was her secret weapon, her last resort. She would only use it if she needed to. After a few minutes, it was apparent that Adam didn’t feel the same way; the brunette had corrupted him. “I brought this over”, she peeped quietly, handing over the bottle. “Care to share a glass before I leave?” Her heart began to beat fast as he poured each of them a glass. If she couldn’t have him, no one else would. It wasn’t long before Adam had realized what she had done; the large amount of cyanide and rat poison could kill a small horse. It was a romantic gesture, like Romeo & Juliet, so why was he looking at her in disgust? Now they could be together forever.
————————————————————————————————
Adam Albright | Dead | FC: Alex Pettyfer| OPEN
Adam wasn’t completely sure what was wrong with Lilly. When they first met, he assumed she was just different, different in a good way. She seemed perfect for him—at least for the moment, until two months into the relationship. When she started talking about the future—-their future, he began to panic. She was only seventeen, how could she possibly have any idea what his future held? The first fight they had was small; but as time went on, they began to fight more and more as Lilly became more controlling. By the third month, fights were a daily occurrence; breaking up and getting back together at least once a week. Friends laughed when either of them announced their latest break-up. “You’ll be back together by the end of the day. Why do you even bother breaking up in the first place?” By their three-month anniversary, Adam was fed up with the constant drama. After school, he waited for her by the flagpole; where they met every day after school. He broke it to her as nicely and as clearly as possible. “Things just aren’t working out,” he explained,“things are just too intense. I’m sorry.” Adam was sorry, more for himself than for her. How did he get involved in such a mess? The first few days of the break-up went smoothly; Lilly gave him his space, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. After the fourth day, it was clear that there was some miscommunication: Lilly had begun to wait for him at the flagpole once again. Once he began to ignore her existence completely, she started to pop up everywhere; outside his classes, by his locker, hanging out with his friends—she wasn’t getting it. Adam began to hide in the library after school, hoping Lilly would give up and stopping waiting for him outside. In the midst of the drama and disaster, he met Sara, a quiet sophomore that also spent her afternoons in the library.  Unlike Adam, who was loud and had a natural charm, Sara was introverted and awkward; but somehow, the two clicked. After a few weeks, Adam and Sara became exclusive. Despite Adam’s fears, he walked Sara to and from class every day, pleasantly surprised that his crazy ex-girlfriend had seemingly backed off. Finally, everything seemed to be getting better. One day after school, Adam was waiting around for Sara to get out of her SAT prep. When the doorbell rang, he assumed she had just gotten out early, not stopping to check if it was really her. He had barely opened the door when Lilly shoved a plate of peanut butter cookies into his arms. Before he could even speak, Lilly had bounded through the door, making herself comfortable in the living room. Adam sat across from her awkwardly as she pleaded with him, trying to reject her advances as politely as possible. Just as he was ready to usher her out, Lilly unveiled a bottle out of wine. “I brought this over. Care to share a glass before I leave?” Adam knew it was best to say no, but what was the harm in having one last drink? He knew something was wrong immediately as the liquor passed down his throat. He didn’t have time to scream; the deadly mixture had done something to his lungs. Adam looked over to Lilly one last time; the pained look on her face saying much more than she ever could. Lilly Newton wasn’t just different, she was a psychopath; and she had just committed murder. The years passed and Adam slowly accepted his fate as a ghost. Although he still feels bitter for the cruel life Lilly forced him into, he tries to do things to pass the time and avoid her at all costs. Adam spends a lot of his time wandering around the town, sticking closely towards the school and sometimes just sitting inside the library where he had met his Sara; who he is positive he would have spent the rest of his life with if Lilly hadn’t intervened.

“How did I get in there?” Allyson pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, staring down at Jayson. Ah, fuck. "Um...well.." She fumbled with her hands for a moment, squeezing Jace's lightly. "It's uh, kinda like a flower. You plant a seed and it grows. So, Daddy and I planted an itsy bitsy egg in my tummy and when it started to grow, you were in it. Much better than a flower." She grinned as she felt Jace's arms around her, reaching up to squeeze his arm reassuringly. They were an odd bunch, definitely; but she wouldn't have it any other way.
Mom + Dad
Jace ran his thumb over Ally’s hand, giving her a small smile and then directing his attention back to Jayson when he spoke again. “Dad is different too. Do you talk to mommy about being different?” He raised a brow at Jayson, giving a short chuckle. The kid was already a smartass just like his mother. Would you look at that. “Actually, it was one of the first things Daddy told me about him; he thought I wouldn’t like him because he was different. He didn’t know I was in love with him from the moment we met.” He still remembered that day as if it were yesterday. Hearing her music, following the sound of it to where he found her. ‘Didn’t know we had a ballerina among us,’ quoting her Dorian Gray. He remembered worrying that she wouldn’t call him back, the feeling of excitement when she did. He knew he loved her from the moment he saw her. It took him a moment to realize that he had spaced out. “Just like I loved you from the moment I felt you in my tummy.” Jace grinned, remembering her reaction to that as well. She was less than pleased with her appearance, but soon enough she put that aside and focused on the life that they had made. He wasn’t ready, not by any means, but he was happy. He wrapped his arms around the two of them in a big group hug, letting out a short chuckle after making some awkward roaring sound as he scooped them into his arms.
Jayson pursed his lips here and there as his mother spoke, swaying his feet as they dangled off her lap. He gave a small smile as Ally stroked his hair, tilting his head back a bit to look at her. “Actually, it was one of the first things Daddy told me about him; he thought I wouldn’t like him because he was different. He didn’t know I was in love with him from the moment we met.” Jayson’s brows knitted together again. It was strange to him, hearing this. It gave him a warm feeling that contradicted what his mind told him. Different could be good? People could love someone that was different? “Just like I loved you from the moment I felt you in my tummy.” Jayson’s eyes shot down at his mommy’s tummy and then back to her eyes. “How did I get in there?” He asked in a skeptical tone, pointing to her stomach. His eyes widened a bit as his father scooped them up, but soon after burst into a fit of laughter — a rarity for him. Jayson didn’t like the way he thought most of the time, it made him sad. It made it hard to laugh at some things, he didn’t like that part of being different. But right now was a happy time, and he hugged them back with every ounce of strength in his toddler body.
