New Zoro headcannon for u all

Zoro finds couches far more comfortable than beds or hammocks. Whenever he gets the chance to, he’ll take the couch instead of the beds in the men’s quarters. If he’s not doing night watch then he’ll sleep in the beds like the others and risk having one of the others roll out of their bed and into his, not that he minds it of course. The first couple of weeks they got the Sunny he slept in the beds because Franky put a lot of work into making them.

When the crew check into a hotel on an island they’re staying at, if no one sits on the couch or is in the room before him, Zoro will make a beeline for the couch if there is one and claim it as his. At this point the crew don’t even bother trying to stop him. They even go out of they’re way to warn whoever they’re currently with about this.

So I finally read Ace’s Story…

And I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I would’ve liked to.

It was great to get to know more about what happened after Ace left on his journey, but I feel like there was room for more. The first book is in first person but doesn’t follow Ace, it follows Deuce. I can’t say I like this choice, because it means we get a limited view of what goes on in Ace’s journey and we don’t get the full picture. If it were in third person like the second book, then we would’ve seen more and learned even more.

I also felt like the book was holding my hand as if I were a toddler with some of the descriptions of places or things. Places that most readers would already know about was explained beyond thoroughly, and descriptions of mundane things like watering splashing over the side of the ship were explained in a lot of detail. It kinda felt like the book was trying to fill pages.

Another thing I found annoying was the amount of times Ace’s depression was shoved in your face. I understand why they did it, but it didn’t need to be said so many times. The reader could’ve inferred it through Ace’s actions throughout the story and how they changed as time went on. Instead of continuously stating that there was a dark flame or something like that in his eyes or something wasn’t right, let the reader make the assumptions and allow them to create their own thoughts.

Some of the characters introduced kinda felt lackluster, like their only purpose was to do one thing and one thing only. Deuce was a storyteller and a doctor but that was it, there was no mention of him doing anything other than those things. Other characters were like this too, not just Deuce. I wish they expanded upon some of these characters a little bit and showed off their quirks a bit more, instead of a quick one and done type of thing. I feel like it would’ve made them all more likable and would’ve made the story much livelier.

The second novel does fix a lot of the problems I had with the first one, but some of the issues are still present. I find that the second book was more enjoyable than the first because these problems are smaller in number and was just a nicer read all around.

With all of that being said, it wasn’t the worst story but it could’ve been far better than what it was. I do hope that these get animated someday, because I think it would make an incredible movie/special. And maybe there we can see the characters really shine.

I need more content of Zoro and Nami just hanging out, having a good time with each other, being the best wingmen for each other, pranking the crew, being absolute menaces to bars and casinos everywhere, playing card games where u have to cheat to win so they can enhance their skills for casinos

God he’s so feral, and I’m all for it. Glad my headcannon of feral Zoro is becoming a reality with this panel.
