Into The Night - Dick Grayson
A/N: Not a request, but kinda a redo of one, since I wasn’t really happy with my last one. Enjoy!
Checking yourself over in the mirror once more, you put your hands on your hips and smiled proudly. Standing there you felt excited about wearing the black and red suit, your eyes hidden under a domino mask. This was it. You were ready. Looking at the clock you nodded to yourself. It was time to go. Sliding the window open you slipped outside onto the fire escape and locked the window behind you. Taking out the grappling hook you make yourself you shoot it at the building across from you. And so the first patrol of Flamebird began. Running and swinging over the rooftops you had taken months to memories you had a hard time not to laugh out loud. The cold night air felt amazing on your skin. You kept your guard up, stopping here and there to keep lookout. You were looking both for criminal and for people sneaking up to you. Your excitement didn't let you forget how dangerous your new calling was. If given the choice you also rather not use that. Still, the smile on your face was a permanent fixture tonight. Passing the harbor district you did not notice how you caught the attention of one person in partially. To your credit your pursuer had a keen skill to melt with the shadows. Following you, Nightwing landed on a roof close to the building you were on. He took care to not to let you see him as he studied you. For his knowledge there were no other heroes in Blüdhaven and he hadn't heard of you either, so there was a good chance you were new. Blüdhaven had been his city for a long time, he wasn't sure how to take it that you had chosen here to become a hero, but then again there could easily be enough reasons. Suddenly alarm sounded. The next moment you saw a man running down the street with a bag. Dropping in front of him, you blocked his way. Nightwing watched from afar as you took down the criminal. You were inexperienced, but skilled. Moving from his spot he decided to introduce himself. Soundlessly he came up behind you. When you turned after having tied up the criminal and saw him, you jumped a little. Apologizing he raised his hands. "Sorry." Nightwing said, watching you carefully. "Didn't mean to scare you." He smiled a bit when you relaxed. "I didn't know there were any other heroes in town. I'm Nightwing." A grin tucked at the corners of your lips. "I would have never guessed." you teased. After all everyone know Blüdhaven's big protector, the news told about him non-stop. You wouldn't lie and claim that his example hadn't influenced your decision in becoming a hero, through the trigger had nothing to do with him. "I'm Flamebird. Nice to meet you." Only years of acting lessons kept the surprise off his face when you told him your alias. Having named himself after a kryptonian god, Nightwing of course knew his legend. There had to be a coincident, some other reason for you to chose that name, because he couldn't imagine you knowing the legend in any form. But he knew and the fact that the god Nightwing had a lover named Flamebird, also a god, really made this a bit awkward. "That is an interesting name." he said slowly, ignoring you raising an eyebrow at him. He crossed his arms and grinned hesitantly. "If you would like I could show you the city." Of curse you already knew the city, you hadn't dared doing out in costume till you knew it like the back of your hand. But you wouldn't pass up the chance of getting to know Nightwing. Besides there was a good chance you could learn something as well. "I could use some company." you agreed. "Know any good spots?" Nightwing grinned. "Oh, all the best." he said.
Looking up from standing in the line your eyes wandered to the television in the corner of the cafe. The news were playing, reporting the capture of another dangerous criminal at the hands of Blüdhaven's new hero-duo Nightwing and Flamebird. You smiled. Working with the other hero was one plus to your new career that you certainly loved, you loved his personality and the jokes between you. While you didn't patrol together every night, you certainly did every other night and kept each other updated. The person in front of you moved and you were next in line. Ordering a coffee you didn't have to wait long. Turning you moved to get to one of the tables, only to run into someone, your coffee spilling over both of you. You jumped back in reflex, pulling the wet shirt from your skin. Biting your lips you looked at the officer you had run into. "I am so sorry." you apologized. "It's my fault." he waved off, still surprised. He gave you an awkward smile. Did he have to be so handsome? And somehow he seemed familiar, like you met before. You tried to ignore. "No, it was my fault." you weren't having it. "I wasn't watching were I was going. Really, I am sorry about this." The look on his face told you that he was about to disagree with you and you got ready to counter any of his arguments. Instead, seeing your determination, he laughed. Once he started you couldn't help to laugh along. Behind you the cashier held out some napkins. The guy and you reached for it the same time. Smiling apologizing you pointed him to go ahead and take them, after all it had been your fault. He took them and gave you half. "Could I have two coffee?" he asked the cashier while wiping himself dry. "That is really not necessary." you protested. His smile widened. "But I want to." he said. He shook his head. "If you really want to repay me you could join me to sit down." You hesitantly accepted. Together you waited for your drinks before picking out a table by the window. "My name's Y/n." you decided to introduce yourself when you sat down. You might as well could give the man you were drinking coffee with your name. He seemed nice after all. "Y/n Y/l/n." "Dick Grayson." he gave his name in return, a grin forming on his face. He studied you, not being able to shake the feeling that he should know you for some reason. "Well, technically Richard, but everyone calls me Dick." "I would ask how you came from Richard to Dick, but I feel like there are a lot of jokes about that." you teased. He laughed. "Um, yeah..." Dick looked away, making a face. "There are. But I swear it has nothing to do with that." Shrugging he looked back at you. "I actually don't know where it came from." Changing the tropic you talked for a long time. You told him of your life, and he told you about his work as officer -he had just come from work- and his brothers. As you talked you forgot time, leading you to jump a little as your eyes fell on the clock. It was nearly time for patrol. "I have to go." you realized. Looking at Dick, you made a bit of a face. "I'm sorry, but I have to get to work." Following your glance, Dick got up as well. "No worries." he said. "I have a appointment, too. Didn't realize it was this late already." Nodding in agreement you took out your phone. "Is it okay if I give you my number?" you turned back to him. You hated leaving already, Dick was a really fun guy. "We should really met up again one these days." "Defiantly." Dick agreed. "Here. I give you my number too. Call any time!" After exchanging numbers and slowly leaving each other you went home with a good feeling in your stomach. You would call him tomorrow right away. Switching into your costume at home you had to run to get to the meeting place in time. To your luck Nightwing was late that night as well. Neither of you really brought it up, but you noticed that Nightwing was in a good mood all through patrol. Like you were one to talk, on the other side.
The last henchmen hit the ground and all was silent. In the silence a door swung open. Nightwing spun around, ready for an attack, but relaxed when he saw it was you. You looked around the unconscious enemies on the ground and crossed you arms. "Didn't I tell you to not always hug all the fun?" you asked with a pout. Coming closer you looked over him for injuries. Finding nothing but some bruises you allowed yourself to relax. "Don't worry, there are more." he said with a small smile. He glanced at the vault door blocking the way to the rest of the gang, including their leader, then turned back to you. Nightwing know you could hold your own, but that didn't mean he liked that you had had to split up earlier. Dick was glad you weren't hurt. "You got it?" You nodded, holding up a sample of the antidote. "I dropped the other sample up at the hospital." you told him. "That way they will be able to help the victims faster." Turning to the vault door you frowned. "They are hiding out in there?" It was a rhetorical question, but Nightwing still nodded. "Together with a bio-bomb that could infect everyone in Blüdhaven." he frowned. "The door can only opened from the inside." He started looking around for another way in, not noticing the determinated look on your face. "What are you gonna bet?" you said, glaring at the door. If you had to use that, then you would. Stepping in front of the door you calmed yourself. Looking at Nightwing, you saw him watch you confused. "You once asked me why I picked 'Flamebird'." Taking a deep breath, you turned back to the door and laid a hand flat against the metal. It started to heat, before flames shot out of your hand. While you tried to keep them focused on the door, some flames escaped and licked on the wall, floor and ceiling, but not at the point where it was dangerous. Dick starred at you. He hadn't known that you had powers, this was the first time you used them in front of him. And he was memorized. The way the flames surrounded you, the light reflecting off your hair. You looked beautiful. Feeling the metal melt down you called your powers back. It took a few tries till the flames died down and you could breath in relief. Nightwing stepped next to you, putting a hand on your shoulder when he saw your face as if to ask if you were okay. You smiled a little. He raised an eyebrow. "So... how come you didn't tell me you were hot in more than one way?" Despite rolling your eyes on his comment, it still made you grin. "I don't like using my powers." you admitted, looking down at your hands. "They are hard to control. And rather aggressive. It's hard to find ways to use them without running the risk of accidentally killing someone." Taking one of your hands, Nightwing kissed it. "You are doing amazing." he insured you, looking at you as if he could see through your domino mask into your eyes. Under his glance you felt your doubts about your powers melt away. "Alright, let's go. We have a city to save." You pointed at the opening. "Get your cute ass in there." "Are you looking at my ass?" Nightwing asked with fake shock, glancing over his shoulder as he walked through the door. "It would be a sin not to." you gave back, following him.
Dick grinned. It had been a busy week and he had looked forward to this the entire week. The door opened and his grin turned into a smile. Your face lid up when you saw him. "You made it."you grinned, letting him in. "It's good to see you." "Nothing could have kept me away." he winked at you. Truth was he felt terrible about all the times he had to cancel due to an emercency, even if you often had cancelled on him out the same reason. It had one of the hints that had lead the detective to discover your secret identity and end up falling even more in love with you. He knew you understood, given the fact that you were Flamebird, but he cherished the time you two spent together off duty a lot. "So what are we watching?" you asked as the two of you moved to the living room. Snacks were spread out on the table. Dick held up the movie he had brought along and you grinned at his choice. It was a movie you had heard was good, but had not yet have had the chance to watch. Movie on, the two of you got comfortable on the couch. You had to remind yourself that this wasn't a date-date, you doubted Dick saw you as more than a friend. Trying not to let him notice, you looked at him. It was about a week since you had realized that you were in love with him. And Nightwing. They were both really alike, so much you would nearly say they were the same person, but didn't believe it was that easy. As it was you had no idea how to tell Dick you were Flamebird or what Nightwing's real name was. In short it was a mess. Shaking you head you focused back at the movie, trying forgot those thoughts for now. As you turned away you didn't notice, Dick turned to you. He grinned, having been fully aware that had been watching you. Maybe now was the right time to tell you how he felt. "Y/n." he gathered your attention. You turned to him, looking at him expectingly. Suddenly Dick's throat felt dry. He tried to come up with the words to tell you how much he cared for you, but he came up empty. Biting his lip he looked up to you waiting patiently. "I,um..." Nothing, he had nothing. All the plans he had come up with when trying to come up with a idea how to confess to you were gone. Dick opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again. "Where were the drinks again?" he finally gave up. "Oh" you said confused. You did forget to put the drinks out, but it sounded more like a excuse to you. Still you decided not to push it, whatever it was he wanted to tell you, you felt sure he would in time. "My bad, I go get them." "No, I go." Dick insisted. "Just tell me where they are." You told him and he quickly made his escape to the kitchen. Leaning against the counter he fought back the urge to scream. He was acting worse than a teenager. What was wrong with him? "Great, just great." he mumbled to himself. "They must be thinking I'm a idiot."
High over the city Nightwing and Flamebird stopped on the roof of a skyscraper. It stood tall over the building it was surrounded by. The two of you liked coming here after easy nights. Since there were no cameras or audio security it was the perfect spot to relax and just talk. Besides the view was amazing. From here you could see almost all of Blüdhaven. The city was alight in a sea of colors, while above the full moon shone the stars. It was breath-taking. But Dick paid it no mind. His attention laid solely on you. The way the moonlight reflected off your face as you looked down at the city you loved made you beautiful beyond compare. "I love you." He only realized he had said that out loud when you turned to him. "What did you say?" you asked, not sure if you had heard him right. Dick smiled. All at once it was easy. "I said I love you." he repeated himself. Coming closer he took your hands. His eyes were training on your face to gauged your reaction. "I have for a while." You were speechless. The idea that Nightwing was interested in you was one your mind could only wrap itself slowly around. But despite the mask covering his eyes you could see the sincerity in his face. He loved you. Your heart beat like crazy and your cheek turned pink. A frown appeared on your face. "I love you, too." you admitted, looking away. "I really do. But you are not the only one I love." His hold on your hands flattered. It hurt, but you didn't blame. Nightwing shook his head, his face confused. "What do you mean?" Dick had been so sure... Jealousy flared within him. "Who?" he demanded, his hands closing around yours when you didn't answer. "Please! I have to know!" Looking up to him you hesitated. You didn't want Nightwing to go after Dick, but you also knew you had hurt him. If this was what he needed, you were willen to trust him to do nothing drastic. "Dick Grayson."you admitted in a whisper. As soon as you said it his face became unreadable. Avoiding his glance you looked away. You were sure he wouldn't want anything to do with you anymore after you broke his heart, so you turned to leave. Grabbing your hand Nightwing spun you back around. Before you could react his lips met yours. When pulled back from you he gave you a huge grin that confused you. "I'm sorry, Y/n." he said. "I thought you knew." Reaching up he took off his mask. Your eyes scanned his face, not believing it. "Dick ..." you said slowly. Suddenly you felt stupid for not realizing it prior to this point. Even through you had at times suspected it, you had never believed it because of how the chances were. Watching the confusion and disbelieve on your face melt into love and wonder Dick pulled you close and wrapped his arms around you. He felt stupid for not having cleared up this whole identity situation earlier. "We have to work on our communication." he told you. A smile hushed over your face. You couldn't agree more. "Let's start with the most important thing." you said and took your mask off. Smiling you looked into his eyes. "I love you, Dick." Hearing these words from you was wonderful. "I love you, too." Dick smiled and leaned in to kiss you once more.

Home - Dick Grayson
Request: ‘something fluffy with Dick’ (x)
A/N: Please enjoy!
You looked over at Dick and frowned. The two of you had been watching a movie at his place. Or at least you had been kinda watching one. But your attention kept on returning to your boyfriend, who sat next to you on the couch. He was starring in front of himself as he played with your hair absentminded, not really seeing what happened on the TV. He looked up when you shifted to face him. "What's is wrong?" you asked. He had been quiet ever since you got here. Dick blushed a little at being caught. The look in your eyes changed, but he could see that you wouldn't give in. "It's nothing." he insured you, trying not to look in your eyes. Shaking his head he smiled at you. "Just thinking." The two of you had been dating for about a year and you knew about his double life as Nightwing. After being together that long he was ready to take your relationship a step further. If you were interested in that of course. But everytime he had tried bringing it up, he had been suddenly lost for words. He looked at you. Laying your head to the side your eyes silently encouraged him to go on, making Dick relax a little. "Would you like to move in with me?" he asked hesitantly. "I mean you spend more time here than at your place anyways." And he loved the idea to come home to you every night, but he choose not to say that. Your eyes widened and a huge smile spread over your face. You were about answer, when you stopped and thought. Moving in together was huge, you didn't want to rush it. But after some thinking you found that you were ready. Dick sat nervously as he waited for your answer. Doubt began to set in the longer it took you to answer. Turning to him with a grin on your face made those worries disappear. "I would love to." you told him. Dick mirrored your grin and gathered you up in his arms. There were no words to say how happy your answer made him, so instead he kissed you.
In the following week you cleared things with your landlord, who wished you good luck in your new home. Dick came over and helped you pack. You smiled when you let him in the morning of the move. "You ready?" he greeting you with a kiss. He looked around seeing some of the boxes you had started to work on. "I got the van standing downstairs." "Let's do this. I got the stuff in the bedroom. Can you start getting the books, while I grab what is in the bedroom?" you asked. You had gotten up early today, to excited to sleep. Dick's face lit up at your excitement you were finally doing this. For the next few hours you spent time packing. It started to rain outside, but neither of you were worried. It seemed like it would clear up soon enough and you wouldn't have to carry the boxes outside till then. Dick turned the radio on, the rain became only soft background noise to the music. Stopping in clearing out a cabinet you turned and pulled Dick close. His confusion at your actions quickly turned into a softer expression and he leaned down till your lips met. Kissing deeply you only hesitantly separated, giving each other smaller peaks as you did.
Still half asleep, Dick rolled over in bed. Eyes closed he reached out for you to pull you close so he could go back to sleep, but his hand only found empty sheets. Confused he blinked his eyes open. You weren't there. He frowned slowly he sat up and looked around. His and your clothes were spread out on the floor from last night. The memory made him smile a little. But there was no sign of you. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes Dick gets up and grabs a pair of pants. His shirt seemed missing through. Dressed in only his pants Dick left the bedroom to look for you. Most of the stuff was already packed out, but there were still boxes standing here and there from your recent move into the apartment. It didn't take Dick long to find you. The smell lead him right to where you were in the kitchen, making pancakes. A lazy smile spread on his face. He watched you for a moment before he sneaked up behind you. You jumped as arms appeared out of nowhere to pull you in a hug, but relaxed when you realized who it was. Your boyfriend laughed and kissed your neck. "Good morning." he whispered into your ear. You smiled. "Good morning." Turning in his grasp you leaned in and kissed him. Dick hummed into the kiss, his arms tightened around you.

Only One - Bruce Wayne
Request: ‘jealous BruceXBatmom’ (x)
A/N: Hope you like it!
It was your tenth anniversary. Bruce and you had originally planned a quiet evening just the two of you. Your sons had respected that, but still had all come to the manor for breakfast so they could at least celebrate a little with you. However your friends had had an other idea. One by one they had shown up with presents. Neither Bruce nor you had the heart to kick them out, so instead you cancelled and stayed home. Currently you were all sitting around dinner table. Dick grinned at you from the other side of the table, he had been hesitant when you had changed your plans since he knew what today meant for you, but also secretly glad to spend time with you. His brothers had reacted the same way, Jason had even offered to kick everyone out if you didn't want to do it. But now he was sitting between Dick and Tim, having a good-humored banter with the younger one. Damian sat on your side, talking with Jon. "Ten years is quiet the accomplishment." Diana commented. Bruce and you shared a smile. It was, and you still loved him like the first day. There was a lot you went through together, but you didn't regretted one second of it. You loved your husband and the life you had build with him. "Hard to believe it has been this long." Clark stated. He laughed to himself. "I can still remember telling Pa that I missed my chance with you." Bruce's head suddenly snapped up, his eyes registering shock. But as quickly as he could, he made his expression to a passive expression, though his eyes were aimed directly at Clark as if shooting invisible daggers. This was new to him. Your other guests froze and Tim's mouth fell open. Damian supply moved closer to you, glaring at Clark. Next to him Jon looked up shocked at his own mother, who only rolled their eyes and shook their head with a smile. They oblivious knew the story. The rest of the table looked as if they were waiting for something as they shifted their gazes from Bruce to you to Clark and back again. To those it came a bit of a shock when you laughed. "That was a long time ago." you said, for once not noticing the tension as you were caught up in memories. "I think my mom was pouting, too." The glances of your family snapped to you. You rose an eyebrow before you realized that you had never told them the story. No because you were keeping secrets, but because it simply never came up. You looked at Bruce and took his hand, giving him a smile. Before you could say anything, he got up. "If you excuse me." he said getting up. You frowned as he left the room. "I'll be right back." you excused yourself to go after him, knowing you had to clear this up right. Bruce had always been rather jealous. Nobody uttered a word until the footsteps faded along the corridor. After a while Damian jumped up and sneaked after his parents, Tim right behind him. Jason and Dick exchanged a glance and followed them. None of them planned to let you see them, but they had to know what was going on. Then it was quiet. "I thought we would never see you get out of that alive, Clark.” Hal joked with his lopsided smile. Jon's mom nodded and agreed. They turned and kissed Clark on his lips, which the latter returned with enthusiasm. "Be a bit more careful when teasing your friend." they said, cupped his face with her hand. Clark gave a laugh, giving you an innocent shrug. "Were would be the fun in that?" he asked. Noticing everyone else's confused looks he grinned. "It isn't what you think." he explained and started telling the others the story.
Bruce let out a deep breath and worked out his emotion by punching the sand bag in front of him. It had been the bag or Clark's face. Currently he was regretting his choice. He trusted you and knew that you would never do anything to hurt said trust. That didn't mean that he had to like the idea of you having been with someone before you knew each other. Especially his best friend. His thoughts were racing and his fist balled. Tearing his gaze from the walls of the gym he looked at his hands. There was no telling how many punches he had thrown at that bag. It was silly, he knew that. Whatever happened back then, didn't change a thing. His head snapped up when he heard a sudden movement a few feet behind him. He turned to look and surprised to find you standing there, worry and a bit of humor mixing in your eyes. Closing the door behind you, you came in. "Bruce, there is no reason to be jealous." you told him. He frowned, he knew that. "I wasn't." he said, looking away. You laughed at him. Narrowing his eyes he turned back to you. His eyes softened at your smile. Reaching up, you pulled him into a kiss. Bruce was returned it, pouring all his love into it. Because you were with him, choose to be with him. Not anyone else. You only separated due to needing air. Bruce took pride in your slightly swollen lips and lazy smile. He could see your love for him in your eyes. Leaning his forehead against yours he relaxed, realizing just how stupid he had been for allowing any doubts about your feelings for him in his mind. Recognizing the change in him, your smile grew. "It's cute when you're jealous." you teased. You laughed when he drew you an glare. The small pout on his lips ruined it. "Besides there is really no reason too." "Y/n..." Bruce began. He pulled you closer in his embrace and looked into your eyes. "You don’t have to explain anything." he said, stopping you when you tried to say something. "I'm sorry for the way I acted." Laughing a little you gave him a peak on the lips. "I sure you are." you said. "By the way, I never dated Clark." You grinned at his confused expression. "Remember how I used to be his neighbor till I was about ten? He was my best friend and our parents used to joke about how we would end up together when we would be older. I don't think they believed it themselves, but they liked to tease us about it." Blinking Bruce starred at you. "Are you telling me I nearly punched my best friend over a running joke?" he finally asked. When you nodded, he sighed. "I ran into that one." He didn't want to think about how Clark could tease him with that. "Don't worry, we get him back." you promised him, earning a smile from your husband.

Glad you liked it! Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Paws - Jason Todd
Prompt: “ Dick Grayson / Jason Todd (your choice!) x reader where reader just got an alaskan mamaluke puppy and all of the reader’s attention is on the puppy? how you choose to write is really up to you! x” (x) requested by @tgwltw
A/N: I decided to go with Jason. Hope you like it!
Jason sighed in relief when home came into sight. He had been away on a mission with his brothers for the past week and was glad to get home to you. It was late and the window of your shared apartment were dark, he didn’t expect you to be still awake. So he was as quiet as he could be when he opened the window next to the fire escape and climbed in. Loud barking made him jump. His guns appeared in his hands before he even registered that there was a dog. Or more of a puppy. It stood a few feet away from him, barking as loud as it could. Jason starred at it, his mind failing to come up with a reason as to why there was a dog in his home. Lured out by the barking you entered the room, holding a baseball bat ready to strike at whoever the intruder was. Seeing it was Jason you quickly dropped your weapon and rushed forward to greet your boyfriend. “You scared me.” you admitted. The puppy, seeing your reaction to the stranger, stopped barking and watched you carefully. Putting his guns away Jason took his helmet off. Turning to you he rose an eyebrow at you and shot the puppy a glance before shaking his head. You laughed when you saw him pout. His eyes returned to you, drinking in the sight of you. He had missed you. Reaching out he pulled you in for a kiss, earning a smile from you as you drew your arms around his neck. The puppy, not understanding what you were doing, barked. At first Jason only rolled his eyes, but then you turned away without giving him a kiss and bend down, calling your dog. Crossing his arms, the vigilante glared at the canine. Well, wasn’t that just great. Hesitant because of the stranger the puppy shambled over into your waiting arms. “Such a good boy. You’re watching out for me, aren’t you?” you cooed to your four-legged friend, rubbing his ear. Wild tail-wagging was your answer. “Yeah you are. But Jason isn’t going to hurt us, he is living with us.” you explained to the puppy. You were unaware of how Jason was watching you. He would admit, it was cute how your entire face lit up when you were looking at the puppy. Even if he didn’t like the animal and would have it rather that he would have been the one you were looking at like that. Looking up you signed for Jason to kneel next to you. it wasn’t hard to guess what you wanted and really he didn’t want to, but one look into your face and he just couldn’t say no. With a sigh he crouched down and held out a hand for the puppy to sniff. "Max, this is Jason.“ you told the dog. Still petting him you turned to Jason. “Max is a alaskan mamaluke. I found him abandoned on the streets one day on the way back from buying groceries. And we did talk about getting a dog.” He studied the dog as the latter did the same with him. Finally Max barked and Jason sighed. “We did talk about it.” he admitted. Mainly because he just hadn’t been comfortable about leaving you alone at home each time he had to on patrol or a longer mission. “But I thought we would pick out one together.” Understanding you nodded. “I know.” you agreed, turning back to Max. “But he was all alone and needed a home.” You picked up your puppy and sat him in your lap, facing Jason. “Besides, can you really say no to this face?” How you would react if he did was the real question here. For Jason could say no to the the dog, no question. A laugh ran from your lips as you tried to avoid getting licked by the affectionate puppy and he felt his resistance break down. You clearly loved your new pet and he wouldn’t hurt you by telling you to give it away. “We see how it works out.” he said and reached out to scratch Max’s ear. This earned him the brightest smile from you.

Paws - Jason Todd
Prompt: “ Dick Grayson / Jason Todd (your choice!) x reader where reader just got an alaskan mamaluke puppy and all of the reader's attention is on the puppy? how you choose to write is really up to you! x” (x) requested by @tgwltw
A/N: I decided to go with Jason. Hope you like it!
Jason sighed in relief when home came into sight. He had been away on a mission with his brothers for the past week and was glad to get home to you. It was late and the window of your shared apartment were dark, he didn't expect you to be still awake. "You scared me." you admitted. Well, wasn't that just great. Hesitant because of the stranger the puppy shambled over into your waiting arms. "Such a good boy. You're watching out for me, aren't you?" you cooed to your four-legged friend, rubbing his ear. Wild tail-wagging was your answer. "Yeah you are. But Jason isn't going to hurt us, he is living with us." you explained to the puppy. You were unaware of how Jason was watching you. He would admit, it was cute how your entire face lit up when you were looking at the puppy. Even if he didn't like the animal and would have it rather that he would have been the one you were looking at like that. Looking up you signed for Jason to kneel next to you. it wasn't hard to guess what you wanted and really he didn't want to, but one look into your face and he just couldn't say no. With a sigh he crouched down and held out a hand for the puppy to sniff. "Max, this is Jason." you told the dog. Still petting him you turned to Jason. "Max is a alaskan mamaluke. I found him abandoned on the streets one day on the way back from buying groceries. And we did talk about getting a dog." He studied the dog as the latter did the same with him. Finally Max barked and Jason sighed. "We did talk about it." he admitted. Mainly because he just hadn't been comfortable about leaving you alone at home each time he had to on patrol or a longer mission. "But I thought we would pick out one together." Understanding you nodded. "I know." you agreed, turning back to Max. "But he was all alone and needed a home." You picked up your puppy and sat him in your lap, facing Jason. "Besides, can you really say no to this face?" How you would react if he did was the real question here. For Jason could say no to the the dog, no question. A laugh ran from your lips as you tried to avoid getting licked by the affectionate puppy and he felt his resistance break down. You clearly loved your new pet and he wouldn't hurt you by telling you to give it away. "We see how it works out." he said and reached out to scratch Max's ear. This earned him the brightest smile from you.
A few days later Jason relaxed with you on the couch. He had his arm around you and you were cuddling into him. On the tv was a action movie playing. He enjoyed moments like this, content to have you next to him. Max ran up to you and jumped at the couch, making both of you jerk up a bit. With playful eyes he tried to squeeze between you. "On no, you don't." Jason said, pushing him down. There were some rules that simple had to be. The puppy turned to you with a whine. You shook your head, petted his head. "He does have a point." you agreed with Jason. Those big, brown eyes starred at you and you couldn't help giving in. Much to the displeasure of your boyfriend, you started to get up. "Alright, where is your ball?" Beaming Max ran off to get the toy. "We were watching a movie." Jason complained. Stubborn he pulled you back down to him. It was always like this lately. The two of you were doing something and that dog had to bug in. "He is a puppy." you reminded Jason. "They are like that. Always wanting lots and lots of attention." You raised an eyebrow when you saw your boyfriend pouting. It was cute that he was jealous about Max of all things. Leaning forward you gave him a kiss. Max had returned and saw you. Excited to join the new game he dropped the ball and jumped back on the couch, starting to give both of you 'big kisses' with his big, wet dog-tongue. In reaction Jason and you jumped away from each other and the puppy. You were unable to stay mad at the dog's innocent happiness, but still scolded him. Meanwhile Jason wiped off the wet spot on his cheek, sending the dog a disgusted glare. Sometimes he really hated having a dog.
Opening the fridge Jason looked inside for something to eat. After a short decision he picked out some ham, cheese and what else he needed. A sandwich sounded right just about now. He started making one, when he heard something behind himself. Turning he found Max sitting there. The puppy looked at him, then to where Jason was making his sandwich. "Keep dreaming." he laughed. Ignoring the little guy he finished his food and put what he didn't need back in the fridge. Max whined, earning a glance. Jason wondered where the puppy had picked up this kind of behavior. "No." he said. "That is my sandwich. You're not getting any of it." The dog barked, making Jason his eyes. Shaking his head he left the kitchen followed by Max and sat down in the living room. The puppy wasn't stupid and sat down across from him, making sure his human could see him. Then he waited. He tried. Jason really tried to ignore the puppy and eat his sandwich. But just as he was about to bite in it, a whine sounded next to him. Stopping he looked down. Max laid his head on his leg and looked up. Jason sighed. "You aren't going to let me eat this in peace, aren't you?" he asked. In response the alaskan mamaluke sat up and licked his mouth. Big, brown eyes looked up expectingly. The vigilante hung his head. Looking around he checked that nobody saw what he was doing, before he broke off a piece of his sandwich. Max wagged his tail as Jason gave it to him. Watching the dog eat, he smiled and turned to eat himself. "He'll never stop begging if you keep slipping him food under the table." your voice sounded. Shocked he looked up. You were standing in the door frame of the bedroom, watching the two. Making an innocent face, Jason shrugged. "I have no idea what you are talking about." he said. Next to him Max swallowed the last part of his snack and looked up at you. He barked once as if to agree with Jason and you couldn't help but laugh.

Sounds fun!
@tgwltw @batmagines @battybe-my-writing @dc-imagine-central @roxiera @yukihime713
I had an idea for like a DC Fanfic writers awards type of thing? Where stories get nominated in categories? Like Best Fluff or Best Angst? And there's other categories maybe like "Best Tim" or something? And people would nominate stories and your mods would read and judge them? And maybe pick a winner and a runner up?
That is such a cool idea, is anyone up for it?

Another Way- Bruce Wayne
Prompt: Requested by anon - “ I noticed youre taking requests, so can I request one where Batmom is a criminal (Before she was batmom) and Bruce encourages her to drop the criminal life and do good or something like that?” (x)
A/N: At first I wanted to pull the Gotham Sirens into this, but they didn’t form until later, so yeah. Enjoy!
Exiting the skylight you landed on all fours. The alarm went off and a look of annoyance hushed over your face. It was quickly masked by a grin. Breaking into a run you jumped off the building, shooting your grappling hook mid-air. Adrenaline shot through your veins as you flew over the heads of pedestrians and back up. Laughter ran from your lips. Flipping in mid-air you landed on the next roof. This was what you loved about your job, the rush. Hearing someone land behind you, you turned. Of course the chase was always fun, too. Taking in the hero that had decided to come after you a hum sounded from the back of your throat. Batman was a rare hunter in Blüdhaven, which had yet to gain it's own masked protector. That did not mean you hadn't met the bat-vigilante before. He did find his way in this city from time to time, just as you visited Gotham on occasions. "Coming to play again?" you asked, wondering what had made him leave his territory this time. "I'm afraid I don't have time to play with boys. Not even handsome bats." "Breaking the law and robbing a museum is hardly a game." Batman narrowed his eyes at you, taking a step forward. You immediately took a step back, not at all interested in getting in a fist fight with the man in front of you. He stopped. His eyes went to your back bag. The one that had to contain the stolen jade figure. Teasingly you made a step backwards and grinned at him. His attention snapped back to your domino-mask-covered eyes. "Come and get me." you told him. Giving him no time to stop you, you ran. Out the corner of your eye you saw him following hot on your tail. In the night he chased you over the rooftops. A few times he nearly got you, but you managed to slip away last second each time. Then a biting scent reached Batman and the sound of sirens coming from fire trucks made him stop. From where he was he could see the burning building at the end of the street. Batman quickly realized that there were still people inside. The firefighters were trying to get to them, but the flames were shooting sky-high and blocking their way. He didn't hesitate. Chasing you was not nearly as important than saving the lives of those people. It didn't take him long to get there. Using his cape to shield his face from the flames he entered through a window on one of the upper floors. The fire was halfway through the walls and he didn't trust the floor he was standing on. But down the hall someone called for help, so he rushed forward. Rounding in the room Batman was faced with a man and a small child. The man was stuck under a beam, while the kid was sitting next to him crying, refusing to leave. Looking up the man saw him and started begging the hero to save his son. Ignoring the calls, Batman stroke forward. "I'm getting both of you out of here." he said, making the kid stand back and starting to throw the debris that was blocking the beam to the side. Using all his strength he pushed against the beam, but it didn't budged. Unnoticed by anyone the fire was eating itself through the ceiling. The crack warned him to late. Spinning around Batman knew he wouldn't be in time to save the kid as the ceiling collapsed above them. Out of nowhere you appeared, throwing at the child. Pushing them out of the way just in time. Pulling the three-year-old close you twisted in the air as to take the impact of the fall. You came up with them in your arms, the kid starring at you wide-eyed as it was too shocked to cry. Holding them close you patted their hair and got up. There was no time. Looking up you saw Batman watching you with an unreadable expression. Giving the situation you were in he didn't dwell on his thoughts and turned back to the stuck man. Once more he steamed against the beam with no success. Frowning you stepped next to him. Together you were able to move the beam. Dropping it, Batman shouldered the man while you went back to the kid. Picking up a blanket from the from the fire still untouched couch you wrapped it around the them, before picking them up. The vigilante shared a nod with you, before you started running. Batman threw a batarang, shattering the window in front of you and doing so clearing the way for you so that it was safer for the civilians. Jumping out of the window the two of you used your grappling hooks to get safely to the ground. Some of the medics present rushed to meet you when they saw you. One of them took the child from you. Your eyes stayed focused on the kid as they brought it over to the ambulance and checked over it. You might be a villain, but you hated seeing kids getting hurt and were glad this one was safe. Without you realizing it Batman was watching you again. Till today he had always seen you as a thief up and foremost. One that didn't kill, but still a criminal. Now he saw that there was more to you, something worth saving. For a moment he took his eyes off you as the medical workers took the man off his back. When he turned back, you were gone.
Months passed. Your life continued as before. For some time a rumor had come up that you had gone soft, but you were able to establish that you simply had principles and could take down anyone thinking you weak. Afterwards the underworld left you alone, and with a new series of daring robberies you convinced the police that nothing had changed. Only one wasn't convinced. Swinging on one of the metal crossbeams of the unfinished skyscraper you spun around and threw darts at your pursuer. Batman easily dodged them. You growled. "Shouldn't you be in Gotham?" you asked. Despite you loving the chase, the hero had really been putting the heat on you. It was unnerving that he would come this much to Blüdhaven, and since he only ever came after you when he was here, some of your clients had started to worry and gone to other sources. Being the best in the city you still meant that you were getting enough jobs, but you knew he had to stop before that changed. "What? Arkham updated their security?" Batman ignored your comment, knowing the reasons for them. As soon as he started after you again you were fleeing again, but he overtook you. Landing in front of you he made you stop in your tracts. Your eyes narrowed. The two of you were miles up, to high to jump. He had you cornered. The lights of the city filled the night and played on Batman's face as he moved closer. "You don't have to be this." he said, his voice sincere. He truly believed you could change. Despite wearing a mask and a black suit and committing crime, you weren't a sociopath or a cold-hearted killer. At that fire he had caught a glimpse of the good deep down in you, the person you could be and he refused to let that go. "Give up on a life of crime. We both know that you are better than this." "There you go again." you rolled your eyes, not letting your guard down. The worst about his visits was that he wasn't even trying to capture you, he was trying to reform you. "Listen, I don't know how often I have to tell you this, but your talks aren't going to work any time soon. I'm not going to change it just because you say so." "I'm not telling you to change because I am telling you so." the bat disagreed, stopping right in front of you. His eyes searched yours and he saw you set your chin. "It would be worthless if that would be the only reason. No, I'm asking you break free from this type of life and be who you really are." Subtly you make sure your bag with tonight's loot was outside his direct reach, hiding it behind you. "You are really stubborn." you stated, leaving out how you were starting to respect that in him. It was weird having someone so set on seeing the good in you. Your entire life you had been a thief, it had been always been your way of surviving and you took pride in your skill. Having someone tell you that this wasn't who you were was both confusing and absurd. "Just because I didn't want a kid burn to death doesn't make me any less of a villain. Has it come to your mind that this is who I am, detective?" White lenses narrowed at you. "I don't believe that. You had no way of knowing that it was a child who was in that fire." Batman reminded you. "It could have just as well someone in his thirties or elderly. The only thing you could have concluded before you went in there was that there was someone in there, regardless of age. Besides the child wasn't the only one you saved." While that was true, you didn't want to admit it and encourage him to come after you even more. For a moment you actually thought about what it would be like to play on the other side of the law, but you banished that idea from your mind, not letting it take any form. You were who you were. You had to get out of here. "Stop acting like you know me all the time!" you growled, swinging at him. "What happened at that fire doesn't change who I am! And neither do you!" Your anger didn't surprise him as he knew it steamed from you being afraid. Because a life of crime had been all you knew. "No, it shows who you really are." he said, defending himself from your attacks. He didn't attack himself, but he didn't let you get away either. "There are other ways to make money .Ways that don't require you to break the law. You can build yourself a new life were you don't have to look over your shoulder every second. One were you can be anything you want." A humorless laugh came from you. "You don't have to do it alone." Batman insured you. If you really wanted out, he would help you. He held your glance as you studied him from the corner of your eyes. Finally you straightened up and looked at him with an unreadable expression. Suddenly you kicked him. Batman stumbled backwards. Normally he would have easily taken this kind of hit, but he slipped on a cord laying over the beam behind him. "No!" you screamed when you saw him fall off the beam. Without thinking you shoot your grappling hook at his hand, catching him. His weight pulled you down, but you managed to hold on long enough so that he could swing safely to another beam. After his narrow escape Batman looked up to you. You might have been the reason he had fallen, but you had also saved him. He could see the fear and shock on your face, telling him you hadn't expected him to fall. You sighed in relief, willing your beating heart to calm down. Then realization hit you like a ton of bricks. It wasn't that you had saved him, it was how relieved you had been that he was okay. As if you cared about him. With horror you starred down to the hero. That wasn't right, you weren't supposed to care for him. The two of you played on different sides, were enemies. Biting your lip you stood frozen for a moment before you fled.
Coming here had been a mistake. Leaning back in the window frame you looked out the open window to the city. You had moved, thinking a change of place would help. In hindsight you could have picked a better city, this one wasn't helping at all. Were someone to ask you why you had come here of all places, you would make up a lie since you couldn't even answer it yourself. Pulling your legs close you wrapped your arms around them. "Thinking again?" Looking up you saw it was Selina. She had been friends with you for years, you had met back when you were still kids and had become like a sister to you. When you had moved to Gotham she had offered you a place till you figured out what you wanted to do. Harley and Ivy visited often. Maybe they had sensed the state you were in. In any case you were thankful for how they put up with you and supported you. Trying you give her a smile you shrugged. "It is getting bad, isn't it?" you asked. No matter what you attempted, Batman's words echoed through your mind. The idea that you could be something else. It was absurd. A thought you avoided. Yet it kept on popping up. When you narrowly escape police, when you dealt with clients, or when you had to fight off rivals. Even when you were alone or trying to go to sleep. That was not counting the times he was actually coming after you. "No, it isn't." Selina said, leaning on the other side of the window. She gave you a reassuring smile. "We all need time to think sometimes. There is nothing wrong with that." Looking outside she was quiet for a moment. "You want to talk about it?" You thought about it, but shook your head. It felt weird to think about it, you were sure it would feel even weirder to talk about it. "I'm fine." you said. The look on Selina's face told you she didn't believe you, but she let it slid. Even if you didn't talk about it she could tell you had a lot on your mind. She would be there when you were ready to talk. Getting up you stretched yourself. If you sat here, your mind would just keep on running in circles around the same old absurd idea. "I'm going to go out." you declared. "Want to tag along?" "Thanks, but I have work later." she shook her head. You nodded and went to change. Before long you were running over the rooftops, trying to clear you're head. It was getting warmer during the day, but at night it still cooled down a lot. Coming to a stop you looked around. It wasn't working. Across the street was a jeweler. A grin formed on your face. Switching roofs, it was easy to take down the security system and slid in through the back door. At nights all the pretty stones were locked up in a safe in the back. But that only translated to you knowing were you had to go. Three minutes and the heavy iron door was open. Taking out one of the boxes, you opened it and looked at a beautiful set of diamond earrings and the matching necklace. Smiling you traced them. Then you stopped. A frown appeared on your face. Once more you studied the gems, but they no longer held the same beauty. Shaking your head you closed the box and put it back, closing the safe. You stood in front of it for a moment before turning and leaving, setting off the alarm as you went. More confused than ever you fled over the rooftops. There were no cops behind you, but they weren't what you were running from. It made no sense leaving without the loot, and you were made at yourself for doing so. Yet even if you could go back and get them, something inside you were stopping you. You ran till you couldn't run anymore. Out of breath you came to a stop, toppling over. Once you caught yourself straightened up and ran a hand through your hair. This was crazy. "What the hell am I doing?" you wondered out loud. This wasn't like you at all. "Waking up." Not having expected an answer as you had thought you were alone you spun around. Batman was not far behind you. He was standing still, only his cape moving in the wind as he studied you. Of course it was him. "You didn't take anything." he noted, sounded a bit amazed. Suddenly you were mad at him. "Rub it in, will you?" you huffed crossing your arms and glared. "After all that is what you wanted." You were so confused, it was giving you a headache. Shaking your head you turned away. All your life you had known exactly what you wanted and how to get there. But then he had to show up with his bright ideas about living another way and now ... You sighed, feeling the anger drain from you. Now you just didn't know anymore. "It would never work." you finally said slowly. "Why is that?" Batman asked, stepping next to you. He was looking out at the city, waiting patiently for your answer. He had watched you, he knew about how you had been protecting the street children. You had also started to not take clients anymore, just some odd jobs here and there. Working to have money to live, not because your heart was in it. "How could it?" you asked back. "You think they would just let me off the hook? I'm not going to jail." Frowning you looked out at the cities' skyline. "And it is unlikely that they are just going to misplace the warrant for me." "Well, they misplaced the one for me." Batman offered, making you look up surprised. He turned to you. "You don't have to go to court, not if you stop committing crime. But this is a choice you have to make. Not anyone else." "You would let me go?" you asked, not at all expecting this. Nobody got away from the Bat. It wouldn't go in your head that he would make such an huge exception for you. Part of you wanted nothing more than believe in the chance he was offering, but it seemed nearly unreal. He turned to you. "As long as you don't make me regret it." he said. You studied him trying to figure where the catch was, but he seemed sincere. Batman always had, which was most likely how he had gotten past your defenses. With knitted brow you looked out to the city. Maybe crime wasn't for you anymore. But it wouldn't be easy. Nobody had ever learned your identity aside from Selina and a few friends, but you had no idea where to go from here. A job would be hard to find with the gap in your resume. Heck, you didn't even knew what you wanted to do. "Do you really think I could make it?" you asked Batman. "Yes." he said, glad he had finally gotten through to you. You had called him stubborn on more than one occasion, and maybe he was. Fact was however that he had started to care for you, more than he wanted to admit. "You're strong. Stronger than you think."
"And then Wally..." Dick grinned as he continued telling you about the latest prank his best friend had played at another friend named Roy. You were sitting at your desk in WE, waiting for your boss Bruce Wayne to come out of his meeting. A smile was on your face as you listened to the boy. Years had passed since you had left your old life behind you. It happened not right away after making the decision, you had hesitated at first still. But then you had gotten a job at a dinner and worked from there. Selina had supported your choice, but had broken down contact with you so that you wouldn't get pulled into anything while building your new life. It had hurt. What had pulled you through had been your regular customer Bruce Wayne. Despite being rich as he was he had come each day for a coffee and talked with you. Not even a half year later he had offered you a job at Wayne Enterprise, as his secretary no less. Of course you had agreed. The hours were long, but you loved your job. Mr. Wayne was great to work with and during your breaks you often sat together and talked, and so Mr. Wayne soon became Bruce. You wouldn't lie, you had more than a crush for the man. Only later you found out that he was aware of your past and was in fact Batman. When he had taken in Dick, you started spending lots of time with the boy and came to love him. You laughed as Dick's story ended with Roy covered in honey and feathers and Wally running for his life. The boy's grin widened at your reaction, proud that he had made you laugh. He looked up a the sound of the ding and smiled at Bruce who stepped out of the elevator, but stayed where he was. The nine-year-old didn't want to leave yet. Bruce smiled at the sight of the two of you together. His feelings for you had only grown over the years. You had grown into a amazing person since leaving crime and he loved every second he got to spent with you. Seeing you now with Dick and how well you got along made him the happiest man alive. Noticing your boss was here you tried to calm yourself. He grinned at you and you shook your head good-humored. What were you supposed to do with those two? "How was the meeting?" you asked to get back on track. He rolled his eyes a little. "Boring, but we actually got things done." he answered, handing you the file. His smile returned. "Can you make a reservation at the Ocelot for me, Y/n? Let's say Saturday at eight?" Your heart fell a little, but you tried not to let it show. "You have a date?" you asked nonchalant as you took the file. Bruce had not been seeing anyone in a while and you had thought that he had dropped hints that he liked you, but maybe you had been only getting your hopes up. "Yes. That is unless you don't have time." You could have sworn Dick had whispered 'Finally!' under his breath, however your focus was on Bruce. He was waiting for your answer, his eyes shining with not only with love, but also nervosity. "I love to." you answered. A blush worked itself on your face, together with a huge smile. One Bruce returned as his face lit up. You would have never expected life to land you here back when you had first met. But at the same time you wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Batmom Origin Part 3: The Word
A/N: This is the last installment in this series and was requested by anon. I have no idea how it had gotten this long, I did rewrite it a few times, but I had fun writing it. Hope you like it.

Part 1 Part 2
Light tickled your nose. Rolling around you faced the warm next to you in bed. You cuddled into it as you tried going back to sleep, but you were already too awake to do so. Making a face you blinked your eyes open. Your eyes focused and you looked up from the bare chest right in front of you to the man's face. Bruce's eyes were closed, his face was relaxed. His arms were around you, holding you close while still leaving you a tiny bit of space to move. You smiled as you watched his face. Studying his face you soaked in the moment, feeling like you could stay here in this bed with him forever. A sigh escaped you and you closed your eyes in content. When you opened them again he was grinning, his eyes closed all the while. "How long have you been up?" you asked as you laid your head on the pillow next to his. His grin twitched and Bruce opened one eye. "Did I wake you?" he asked. You shook your head and he hummed in return. He pulled you close, tugging your head under his chin. One of his hands reached up to move through your hair. Shaking your head at his antics you raised your head and kissed him. Bruce was all to eager to return it, deepening it as he rolled over to hover over you. Your hands came up to cup his face, but he caught you right hand before it could do so. Stopping he separated from your lips to look at it with something akin to wonder and love. At your finger was a silver ring with a diamond engraved in it. He kissed it, looking in your eyes. "I still can't believe you said yes." he admitted. "I can't believe you were worried I would ever leave you." you said, a huge smile on your face. Nearly a week had passed, but it was still a bit surreal. Bruce had asked you in the garden. You didn't believe there had been a moment in your life where you had been happier. The feeling had lingered ever since and you couldn't believe your luck. Your smile was returned by your fiance. Only slowly you two got up, mainly because Bruce kept on pulling you back into bed and ask for five more minutes. Neither of you really wanted to get up, but you had to. It was nearly noon when you finally got dressed. Sure enough you met Alfred in the hallway, having been on his way to retire you. "Good afternoon." he greeted you with a knowing smile. "Glad to see you back under the living." He reminded you of the charity gala later tonight and left you give you some alone time. Shaking your heads, Bruce and you headed down in the kitchen. You were no longer surprised to find breakfast plates waiting like you had been at the beginning of your relationship with Bruce. Later you went to the library. Sitting together you in the large armchair you read a while till Dick came home. The boy, now thirteen years old, had grinned when you asked how his day had been, soaking up your attention as he gave you a detailed answer about the happenings at Gotham Academy. Alfred watched the three of you with a smile, feeling his heart melt on the sight of how happy this family had become. Yet before long it was time, and Alfred send you up to change for the gala. You didn't look forward to interacting with the 'high society' and you weren't the only one to do so. Bruce didn't say a word but rolled his eyes a bit, which he got a stern glance from Alfred from. Dick tried a bit harder. "So, I don't really have to show up there, right?" he turned to you with an innocent look on his face. "We can just say I'm sick. Then I could stay here. Please? Batmom, please?" Laughing a little you shook your head. "Except that we already did that last time." you reminded him. He made face and laid an arm around him. "Besides what am I supposed to do without you there?" you added conspiratorial. "You know I would be completely lost." Dick raised an eyebrow at you. He knew you would be fine on your own. Then he grinned. "Are we going to make a big escape after right the met and greet." he leaned in to ask. You couldn't deny it would be tempting. Unfortunately Alfred heard him and started scolling both of you on how important connections were.
Boring. This about summed up this gala. Only the thought that this was for charity made the fake smile remain on you face as you and Bruce talked to several other millionaires. Dick stayed glued to your side, throwing you pleading looks whenever he thought nobody was looking. There were are lot of congratulations for your engagement and every second person you met wanted to know when the wedding was. All you could think of was how you did not want to invite them. At one point some of the ladies had dragged you off you had lost your boys in the crowd. It took a while till you found an opening allowing you to excuse yourself without seeming rude. Maneuvering through the room you kept on being interrupted by different people. Finally you decided you needed a break. The second the coast was clear you slipped into the gardens. Away from all those people you were able to breath. Here the gardens were mostly deserted. A cold breeze was blowing through the night and felt nice against your skin. Leaving the sound of the gala behind you wandered a bit. You knew you would have to return soon, but for now you allowed yourself a few moments of quiet. Suddenly a figure threw themselves at you. Catwoman took you by surprise, pinning you to a tree. Her hand held your throat, her claws digging painfully into your skin, but not breaking it. You starred at her shocked by her appearance but at the same time understanding that she didn't want to hurt you. If she would have wanted that she would already done so. Frowning you scowled yourself for having let your guard down enough that she had been able to caught you off-guard in the first place. "Too easy." Selina commented on top of that. She studied your face for a moment then gave you a playful grin. "You aren't getting soft on me, are you?" Her voice was mocking, but her eyes were serious. They searched your eyes, before turning to your surroundings and finally back to you. You realized that she was expecting someone to show up. And in the first place you didn't expect her to show up for small talk. Not here, not in full costume. Straightening up you gave her a cold glare. Dick once called it your bat-glare, but you pushed the thought from your mind at the moment. Selina smiled at your reaction and let go of you. "Good to know." she mocked as took a few steps back and crossed her arms. "You'll need it. Now more than ever." "And why would that be?" you questioned. You didn't trust the Catwoman, you had never really gotten along. She was a thief, you a cop, so you had been off to a bad start from the beginning. Then she fell for Batman and you would lie if you were to say you didn't got jealous from time to time. But she wasn’t all bad and you respected that in her. "Oh, I don't know." Selina inspected her claws. "Maybe two-million dollars." Her eyes focused on you. "Two-million, put up for your head." Subconsciously she checked her surroundings. It was part of why you believed her claim. The other was the look in her eyes. "The underworld would be all over a job like that." you brought up your only doubt. That amount would any wanna-be try to get a piece of you, and most of the underworld didn't like you in the first place. Word would be all over the city. Yet in the last few weeks there hadn't been a whisper of it on the streets. "Believe me, they are." the other woman rolled her eyes. "News arrived only a few hours ago." She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. Her posture was relaxed, unless you counted that her eyes were always moving you wouldn't guess how she really felt. "Of course this is spreading like a wild fire. Can't be long now." "Who is the client?" you asked. Suddenly being out here didn't seem like such a smart idea anymore. You could hold your own, but you had no weapons on you and that gave you a limited defense. Your mind flashed to Bruce and Dick, knowing you had to warn them and leave the gala immediately, both to prepare and to not lure any idiots here. And you had to call Gordon to sent out a warning, you didn't want any of your female colleges shot because they were mistaken for you simple for wearing the same uniform. Selina rose an eyebrow. "Who did you piss off that has that much money?" she asked. That alone didn't give you an answer, but then she looked at the ring on your hand and your eyes widened. "Officially the job came from the League of Shadows." "Thalia Al Ghul." you realized. You never met the woman, but you knew about her. Bruce had told you about the assassin that had declared that she loved him. "The League of Shadows doesn't need help assassinating people." If Thalia was crazy enough to put a prize on your head over your engagement, you couldn't imagine her leaving it to street gangs. No, she would sent her own people to be sure the job got done. "It's a distraction. To keep Batman busy and out of the way." "That woman is crazy, if you ask me." Catwoman agreed. Now that she had delivered her warning she turned to leave. "You better watch your step from here on. It's not my problem." "Wait." you stopped her. She turned to look over her shoulder at you and raised an eyebrow. "Why warn me?" you asked, narrowing your eyes at her. "You had no reason to do so." And she clearly didn't want to be mixed up in this. She sighed. "You mean because we want the same man?" she asked back. Selina would never admit how over the years of fighting you she came to respect in a way. "If he chooses me in the end I don't want it to be because you are dead." she said instead, knowing full well how unlikely that was to happen. Walking away from you she didn't look back to see your reaction. Just in front of the wall she stopped. "Y/n." she hesitated, not turning around. "Be good to him." Jumped over the wall she disappeared. You looked after her for a second, before you sprang into action. On the way back to the Gala you called Alfred, telling him to pick up up right away. Finding Bruce, you made up a excuse that you had to go home right away. Confused your fiance looked at you, knowing it was a lie. He must have caught something in your eyes as his eyes sharpened. Together you quickly found Dick and went outside where Alfred was waiting in the car. "Y/n, what's wrong?" Bruce demanded as soon as you were inside. He was worried. You had hid it well from the others, but he knew the look in your eye. The one that said something real bad just happened. Meanwhile you were already on the phone. You looked at him as you talked both to him and Gordon on the other side of the line. "I just had a run-in with Catwoman." you explained. "The League of Shadows has put a prize on my head." Color drained from Bruce's face before the Batman took over. Dick whispered a small 'no' and starred at you. In the rear mirror you could see Alfred's eyes widening as he froze for a second. Grimly you nodded.
In the next days you were never alone. "I'm starting to crawl up the walls." you told Gordon over the phone. He was on loudspeaker in the cave. This allowed you to keep typing away on the bat-computer. You were searching the city virtually for any signs of the League-Assassins, working from what you found in the file Bruce had about them. So far you had no luck. It drove you crazy knowing that Batman and Robin were out there right now, searching themselves for the same thing. This was other than the other times, this time they were in danger because of you. "I'm not putting you back on duty." Gordon sighed over the loudspeaker. "That would presenting you on a silver tray and I'm not doing it. Listen, I know you hate doing nothing, but right now the best thing you can do is to stay put. We are working as fast as we can, and we got the Bat on the case." You sighed, you knew that. "Ellen is in the hospital because a druggie thought I was her." you reminded him, glaring at the display. It had been just as you had feared. "They are after me. Jim, you can't just keep me out of this. I have a right to be on this case. When they put a target on my head they not only put it on me but also on all those close to me. My friends, my family." "Y/n..." Jim sounded tired. You knew he was pulling over time on this case, you had noticed the bags under his eyes when he come over to the manor to check on you. "I know it is hard. But please just try to stay safe. What does Bruce say to you wanting back on the case?" He didn't like. Sitting back in the chair you ran a hand through your hair. Bruce was overprotective at the moment. And while he had all the reason to, you hated just sitting here. Your eyes went to the girl sitting on the table next to you. Batgirl hadn't said anything as she didn't want her father recognize her voice, but she was watching you closely. You tried to give her a reassuring smile but you weren't feeling it at the moment. Jim took your silence as an answer. "See?" he asked. "Y/n, think about your family and stay safe. I'm going to do everything I can to get this off your back, but you have to be patient. Stay put." It was your family you were thinking about. But that was something you couldn't tell Gordon. You nodded you head in defeat. "Alright..." you gave in, hating doing so. A relived sigh came over the loudspeaker and you shot them a short glare. "But you better watch your back while you are out there." Gordon chuckled and insured you he would before hanging up. You looked at Barbara. Deep down you knew Jim would kill you would he know his little girl was involved in this. Having seen her in action you knew she could handle herself, but this was big and you hated getting her involved. She crossed her arms at first, then her face softened and she put her hands back on her side. "We are doing to catch them soon." she tried, not sure what would be the right thing to say. Nodding you smiled. "We will." you agreed. But in reality you weren't that sure. All you knew was that it had to end soon or you would go crazy. Engine sounds made you look up and see Batwoman come through the entrance on her motorcycle. Kate and you meet some years back and had been close ever since. She had gotten word of the bounty on your head and had come here right away. Throwing you a smile she got off and joined you. "Anything yet?" she asked. Giving you an once over, she raised an eyebrow and gave your shoulder a light punch. "Ease up, we're nothing going to let them get past us." "Quiet right." Alfred appeared out of nowhere. He was carrying a tray of his famous sandwiches and some drinks. Kate's eyes lit up at the sight of food and Barbara snatched herself one of the drinks right away. Looking at you with a knowing glint in his eyes the butler handed you an cup of coffee. "The masters have faced dangerous odds in the past. They are capable of protecting themselves, you wouldn't need to worry. Everyone here is." Taking the cup you gave him a thankful smile. You knew he worried himself, but he was also right. Bruce and Dick faced the League of Shadows before. Looking down at your coffee you told yourself that you had to believe your fiance and son would be safe. They had to. The hours ticked by. Kate and Barbara stayed with you and helped your virtual city search. Finally the batcar arrived. Jumping out Batman immediately called for Alfred. Feeling the blood in your veins freeze you ran to the car, where Bruce was carefully gathering Dick up in his arms. You starred at your bird, who hissed under his breath as he was moved. "I can walk." he complained weakly. His voice was barely more than a whisper. "No." Bruce disagreed, his voice masked. "You're still weak from the poison." He looked up when you stepped next to them, then looked away from your painted eyes. The boy had been stabbed. Of course Bruce had been able to stop the bleeding and as well as give him the anti-poison, but there had been a moment he had been scared he would have lost him. You didn't stop him when he took Dick to the medical bay, laying him on the table there. Alfred went to work right away. Sitting next your bird you took his hand, making him look at you. "I'm going to be fine, Batmom." he told you. You nodded and did your best to smile since you didn't want him to worry. While Alfred worked you kept your eyes on Dick. Bruce stood behind you, watching his old friend patch up his son. With one hand he reached out and squeezed your shoulder. Dick grinned at you but winced a little when Alfred touched his wound. Batman told everyone how they had found Thalia's hideout and how her men had surprised them. When Robin got hurt they had to retreat, all they had was a phone they had found previous to the battle. By now they could be anywhere. Kate started demanding why they hadn't called for back-up, Barbara agreeing wholeheartedly with her. You frowned as you listened to them, squeezing Dick's hand. This was your fault. Thalia was after you and your family was getting hurt trying to protect you. Because of you. "Batmom?" your bird called out for you, but you didn't react. Frowning he bit his lips. "Mom?" Surprised you looked at him. This was the first time he had called you Mom. A smile, a real one, appeared on your face. "Yes, bird?" you asked. "Don’t worry so much." he told you. "I had worse. We are going to be fine. Big B and I got a plan. This is going to be over soon. You'll be safe." He wouldn't lose you. Dick didn't think that he could handle losing his mother a second time, he was going to do anything to keep you safe and he knew that Bruce was feeling the same. "We're getting through this." Bruce agreed, turning to you. There was so much love in his eyes. He brushed a tear away you hadn't known you had been crying and kissed your cheek. His eyes searched yours, trying to reassure you. Not saying anything you didn't disagree as you held his glance. But you knew Thalia wouldn't stop. You stayed with Dick as Alfred finished. He told you the boy was out of danger and only needed rest. Yet that wasn't true, as long as that woman wanted you dead your family would continue being in danger. Slowly Kate and Alfred left to run scans on the mobile phone Batman and Robin had brought with them. Bruce stayed with you, watching over both of you, till Barbara came back telling him that they had found something. He kissed your forehead before leaving, letting Batgirl stay behind. By that time Dick was sleeping. You were still holding his hand. Your eyes hardened when you made a decision. It might be stupid, but you refused to do nothing as your family got hurt. "Barbara, would you mind staying with him?" you asked getting a blanket out of the cabinet. Gentle you tucked your bird in. You looked at the girl next to you. "I have to talk with Bruce for a moment and don't want him to be alone when he wakes up." She nodded and you went to the front of the batcave. Bruce and Kate were comparing the information they had downloaded from the phone on the big screen. You glanced at it as you came up behind them. Then you turned to Bruce. "Dick said you had a plan." you started. Looking up Bruce nodded. "Not much of one, but it could be a way to stop this all and I am willen to try it." he said. "We found proof that Ra's doesn't approve his daughter's action. If we can convince him that it wouldn't be a good idea to wag war against me he will order her back." "But he didn't stop her till now." You moved next to him and looked into his face. "There was no guarantee that he would strike a deal with you -or what he would have asked in return. It can even be that he would call Thalia back but let the bounty up." Bruce frowned. It was a possibility. "No, Ra's doesn't do things half-assed." he said. "We convince him and he will take the bounty down. The only question is how to convince him." He glared at the file pictures of Ra's and Thalia on his screen trying to come up with a way to do so. "The Al Ghuls have to respect strength." you thought slowly, an idea beginning to form. "It is how both their reputation and their position in their League is build. If they were to fail and another to succeed on the same job it would result in possible clients and their subordinate questioning their abilities to get future jobs done or lead a group of assassin. That means if we defeat their best in a way that everybody knows it they can't afford continuing painting an target on my head." "Which means all we have to is to find them." Kate concluded crossing her arms. "Some nice reports on the news as they are on their way to jail should do the trick." Of course that would be the hard part. Bruce pursed his lips in thought. Looking up at the screen you hesitated. "There would be one way that would be sure to lure her out." you started. Taking a deep breath you told them your plan. While there were many risk to it you were sure it would work. Shocked at your plan Bruce jumped out of his chair and grabbed your arms. His eyes were pleading with you. Kate's eyes widened and her hands fell to her side. As she ran over what you had said in her again her face became unreadable. "You can't mean that." Alfred came up from behind you. "It is simply too-" You cut him off with a stern glance. "Yes, I do mean it. Else I wouldn't have come up with this." Turning to Bruce you held his glance. "This was the one sure method to lure her out. Even you could need weeks to find her. Bruce, they nearly killed Dick tonight. We don't have weeks, and I refuse to let what happened tonight be repeated the next time you meet. While you might not like this plan, it does allow us to find her -and meet her on our terms." "Don't." he asked. "Don't ask this of me. Not this." Bruce couldn't do this, he couldn't risk losing you like this. Shaken he pulled you into a hug. "We figure something else out. There are other ways. Just let me protect you." Your plan was crazy. "Stop." you told him. "Don't ask me to sit at home and do nothing while you get hurt." You moved back a bit so you could look into his eyes. "There is no way I could let any of you die for me."
Thalia was given out orders to set up the new base when one of her men approached her with his ringing phone. The reason he did so was because the caller ID showed her number. Thing was batman had her phone. Smiling she shooed the man away as she took the phone from him. "Beloved, so nice of you to call." she picked up. "Wrong." a female voice stated. Thalia could hear the smirk in your voice. Her face darkened as she realized it had to bee you. "You went through a lot of trouble to send a stranger a message, so I thought I say hello." Thalia laughed at you. "Is that so?" she asked leaning back in her chair. "I put money on your head and you decide to say hello? You are either very brave or very stupid, and I'm afraid it is more of the later. It is beyond me to understand why Beloved fanicies someone like you." "Well, what can I say? I guess there is a reason why I'm the one with the ring." She didn't answer you, so you continued. "That irks you, doesn't it? But what I don't understand is why spend money to get me killed. Weren't you the heir of an large assassin group?" You paused. "Don't tell me you are scared of little old me?" "If that is what you really think you are ignorant." the assassin said. She could smell the bait. But you were wrong if you thought you could get away with it. Thalia happened to know for a fact that her Beloved would never let you go through with your plan. And meant you were on your own. "You are just dying to meet me, hmm? Alright, I think I can make some place in my schedule." She stopped for a moment. "Where?" "Under one condition." you interrupted her eagerness. It amused her to think that you believed you could set the rules for your meeting, but she decided to humor you. After all she had no reason to keep to them. "Should I win you will take the bounty down and stay away from my family." "I will always stay just as far away from Beloved as he stays away from me." Thalia chuckled self-assured. "But I can promise you that after tonight the bounty comes down. And don't worry I come alone." There was no way a little cop like you could survive a confrontation with her. So there would be no reason to have the bounty up afterwards anymore. You were quiet for a long time. Thalia started thinking you were backing out and she wouldn't have been surprised if you did. Even you should be aware of what would happen to you when you meet. "The White Apple." you finally said and hung up right away. Looking at the phone the assassin laughed. She had known hurting Robin would draw you out.
White Apple was the name of an old hotel. Once it had been one of the most glamours ones in Gotham. Today it stood abandoned. The wallpaper was peeling off and the roof had given way in some places. The building was scheduled to be torn down in the morning, but right now it was given you exactly what you needed. Light fell through the hole in the roof over the lobby and the windows, enough for you to see everything as you hid in the shadows. It was a good thing you did as you saw Thalia enter through the second floor. She seemed surprised that you weren't waiting in the plain open. You kept an eye on her as you looked around to see if she had brought some of your henchmen. Just because you didn't see any didn't mean they wouldn't be around and you gave no worth to her word. Sure of herself as she was Thalia moved into the middle of the room. "Come out." she called, crossing her arms. "Or were you to scared to show up." Taking a deep breath you closed your eyes for a second before letting your plan set in motion. Jumping from your perch you let yourself drop a few feet in front of her. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw what you were wearing and you couldn't help but smile. Your outfit had been a joke-present from Dick and Alfred for your and Bruce's anniversary years ago, not so long after the Batmom-name had come up. You had been never been meant to wear it, but they hadn't been ones for a half-baked job, so it was fully functional. It was a duplicate of the Batman-costume, identical save for the adjustment for your measures. Even the intercom had been online. Raising to stand straight you faced your opponent. Thalia saw your smile and her shock turned into anger. "You dare step in front of me, wearing my Beloved's colors?!" she growled. Good, you wanted her angry. "I will teach you for your impertinence! For that alone I shall make your death painful, wench!" You watched her, your muscle tense under your cape to react in a moment's notice. Making her mad gave you an advantage, but it was also dangerous. "It is Batmom." you said. Your message stood clear in the room and it was like a red flag for the other woman. "Don't worry. I don't expect you to get it." She ground her teeth in anger and attacked. Yanking one arm up you shot your grappling hook while throwing a batarang at the wall. Hitting the switch electricity shot to the metal net between debris on the ground. It would have barely shocked her but she didn't know that and jumped back. You flung yourself at her, punching her in the face. Unfortunately she recovered quickly, kicking your legs from under you. You managed to flip around and back to your feet. But Thalia was right on you. The fact that she was angry and made mistakes was the only reason you were able to keep up with her. She was unable to lay a hit on you, but so were you. Suddenly Thalia jumped back. Sensing her move you ran behind a pillar. Taking cover just in time you escaped her bullets. You couldn't fight a gun head on. Removing your explosive you threw them at the inside balcony for second floor over your head. As the stone collapsed you ran forward into the door diagonal across from you while Thalia was forced to halt her fire to avoid getting hid. In the settling dust she glared at the door you had disappeared through. Two men stepped next to her. One being Deadshot and the other being the Hook. "She's a slippery thing." Deadshot commented, leaning his unsheathed blade over his shoulders. "You sure you don't want any help?" "Nothing I could not handle." Thalia waved off, moving forward with her gun at the ready. The other two assassin said nothing, they did what they were paid to do. They had come just in case the Batman showed up, but sent the rest of the man home. Meanwhile Thalia was moving through an opening in the wall of the room you had escaped in and entered a hallway. She smiled when she saw a trail of red spots on the floor and started following them. They lead her to a dark room with barred windows. In it's center a figure was crouching on the floor, their back to the door and the cape unmistakable. Her grin widened and she carefully snuck closer. "Seems your luck ran out." she mocked pointing the gun at the back of their head. Spinning around the figure got a grip on her gun and in on fluent motion broke her wrist and kicked her in the stomach. She fell to the ground. Rolling back to her feet Thalia looked up. Shook spread on her face when she realized who this really was. Batman glared at her, his fists clenching. "Beloved?" she asked confused. A tip on the shoulder made her turn around. You punched her straight into the face before round-kicking her into the wall. That nickname was really starting to piss you off. Satisfied you looked her over and nodded. She would stay knocked out for a while. Turning you faced your fiance. Anger was rolling off him in waves. "I still don't like this." he let you know as he checked over you for any sigh of injury. It had been hard to stay hidden when he had heard the gunfire and explosion. Smiling you kissed him. "Thanks for trusting me." you said. It meant a lot that he had agreed to this plan and let you face Thalia on your own, knowing it had been the last thing he had wanted. But you were a team and you would protect your family together. Not taking his eyes off you Bruce nodded. Over the intercom he called Batwoman who reported that Hook and Deadshot had separated. Deadshot had gone in one of rooms on second floor, while Hook had stayed downstairs and was at the moment making a little nap after making acquaintance with her fist. "I'm going after Deadshot." Bruce told you. "Stay safe." you warned him and took a step back. You didn't like letting him go alone, but you know that it was something he had to so. It was part of the man you had fallen in love with and you wouldn't change him. Bruce grinned and leaned close to kiss your forehead before he left. In the silence after you pulled your cowl back and looked at Thalia. "You know what?" you told the unconscious woman as you handcuffed her. "I hate your guts." Quickly you took off the cape, belt and gloves and stuffed them in the bag you had laying next to the tubes of fake blood you had used for your blood trail earlier. Exchanging your top for your uniform blouse your transformation was complete. The belt was great, but you preferred the badge on your chest over the cape any day. It was also easier to explain to the squad team Batgirl just lead through the door. "I should be taking that badge from you." Gordon glared at you. "I ordered you to not go after them." When you had called saying you were heading for a rendezvous with the woman that had put that bounty on your head he had nearly a heart attack. You were like a sister to him, why did have to do that to him? His eyes studied you for a moment. "You alright?" "Batman says he has Deadshot." Batgirl gave the new she had gotten over the intercom. Her job had been to get the police safely passed the assassins when they arrived. Dick was at home, recovering with Alfred giving watch that he didn't come after them. He had hated being left behind, even if he could barely stand. Getting the news that the last present member of the League of Shadows was down, you relaxed. This meant you won and your family was safe. "Never better." you answered Gordon's question. He shook his head at you, wondering what he was supposed to do with you. A few days later you got the news that the bounty on your head had been dropped.
It was the big day. Bruce Wayne was standing in front of the mirror trying to make his tie, but that thing didn't want like he wanted. Alfred chuckled and stepped next to him. "Let me help you, Bruce." he said and took the tie from him. When he managed get it right at first try, the groom pouted at him. Dick laughed at him. He had fully recovered and was now sitting on the bed in the room, dressed in a tuxedo. "Someone seems nervous." he commented with a grin. Bruce shot him a soft glare, but the boy's grin only widened. Rolling his eyes the Wayne tried to ignore him and pulled his tuxedo on and turned back to the mirror to make sure it sat right. "You look fine." Alfred insured you, laying an hand on his shoulder. He looked at their reflection feeling his heart swell with joy. Bruce had grown up to a fine man. "Your parents would be proud if they could see you now." he said, for he knew he was. Bruce looked at him with glittering eyes. Nodding he smiled. "Thank you, Alfred." he proud out. Looking at the clock he saw it was time. Dick ran ahead as the three left the room. Alfred left to join you as the other two headed in the garden. The wedding for the media was later this week, this ceremony was only for the close circle of your friends. The garden was decorated in white roses and ribbons. A white rug lead between the chairs where their friends sat up to a pavilion where the priest was waiting. Clark, who Bruce had asked to be his best man, was standing next to him and grinned at the groom as the later got closer. On the other side of the priest stood Ellen, your bridesmaid. Most of the Justice League and the GCPD were here. Dick joined Jim and Barbara in the first row as Bruce continued his way to stand between the priest and Clark. Part of him couldn't believe this was really happening. You had been dating for five years, you had seen the worst and the best of him and still stayed by his side. He couldn't help but think he would have never guessed that it would come this far when he had saved you all those years ago. But he wouldn't change a thing. Bruce had never been this happy. Music started to play. Your guests rose as Bruce looked over to you. You looked breath-taking. A wide smile was on your face and your eyes glittered in joy. Slowly Alfred guided you up to the pavilion, the trail of your dress moving behind you. Reaching your groom, Alfred shed a tear as he handed you to Bruce. At the priests word the guest sat down, but the two of you had only eyes for each other. "Today we came together bear witness to seeing these two people join hands and set out on the path of marriage." the priest started. "To face life together, no matter what the future brings, good and bad times alike." He turned to the groom. "Bruce Wayne, do you take the here present Y/n Y/l/n as your wife? Do you swear to love them, today and forevermore? To live together and honor them, to keep them close in sickness and health, to never sway from their side till the end of your days?" "I do." Bruce said. You could see his love for you burning in his eyes. "And do you, Y/n Y/l/n, take the here present Bruce Wayne as your husband? Do you swear to love them, today and forevermore? To live together and honor him, to keep him close in sickness and health, to never sway from their side till the end of your days?" "I do." you answered, holding his hands tight. "Since you are both willen you may exchange your vows." the priest said and Clark handed Bruce the ring. "I promise to be there when you need me, to fill your days with sunshine." Bruce swore as he put his ring on your finger. "To comfort you and encourage you, to help you reach your goals. To be your best friend ever and to love you all my life with all my heart." He smiled at the ring on your hand and the meaning behind it. Looking back up in your eyes his heart seemed to burst in joy. You weren't doing any better. Taking the ring Ellen handed you, you looked back at him, your eyes shining with joy and love. "I promise to be there when you need me, to fill your days with sunshine." you said your vow. "To comfort you and encourage you, to help you reach your goals. To be your best friend ever and to love you all my life with all my heart." The priest smiled at the pair of you. "I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Bruce and you hadn't to be told twice. This was the happiest day of your life.
