When you say people can write canonical characters present within the setting, does that mean like just taking a character from their home series and throwing them into this setting?

And would it be alright to join if I don't know many specifics about Genshin?

Apologies for the extremely belated response, but yes! You're more than welcome to just take a character from their original series as is and place them into the world of Teyvat! Plenty of our members have chosen this route when it comes to apping for a character within the group! :]

And it's more than alright if you haven't played Genshin whatsoever! Knowledge of the series doesn't matter whatsoever in this group as what matters is for our members to have fun. Though we've created a Genshin FAQ for members who haven't played the series to be aware with the very bare basics of the series, should they be interested in knowing more!
