The dress
Version 2

Really quite happy with how this one came out!
I have enough of this thrifted satin fabric to make one more of this dress for any doll measurements.

Another attempt at pattern drafting. Used my bodice block pattern as a reference to draft this corset top and circle skirt

And here she is! Honestly too not bad, I will adjust a little less fabric on the upper chest but otherwise it's ok in my opinion! I have bought some metal snaps but didn't want to waste them on a prototype, so I did lace up with ribbon

Learning to pattern draft a doll boddice block
So I have learned the Valentina software. This way, I can make a pattern one time, and by inputting the measurements of different dolls the pattern becomes instantly resized. Very cool!
This is mostly from following Natalie Bray boddice block tutorials. So I have printed it out in monster high and bjd size. Here are the results!
I mean, I'm not saying that it is really good, but I am trying to be patent with myself as a beginner sewist. I think there are a lot of things that are going right about this boddice block, so we should overlook the flaws for now. (but that asymetrical collar is killing me yes) And yes, one pattern instantly resises for both dolls, despite them having different proprtions! I can be produ of myself for that. These are both attatched with velcro in the back.
Next project ideas:
Black pleated skirt for this hatsune miku type look
blue hair also lol
I also have this pink satiny fabric that I thrifted, I am thinking of a dress with a corset style boddice and circle skirt.

I have made a yarn wig and underwear set. Putting on the trim is a lot more work than you might realize!

Not perfect, but I am reasonably happy with it!

I will show a couple of the layers where I applied top coat in between

And my supplies as well
