Aesthetic: Sudden Collapse

Give me sudden collapses.  Please.

Give me stumbling and wavering and vision going blurry before going black.

Give me running and stopping and crumpling like a ragdoll.

Give me standing up mid-argument and words trailing off and eyes rolling back.

Give me slamming into things on the way down.  Give me frantic, scrambling catches by the unprepared.  Give me the soft sound of a thud and heads turning back in unison.

Give me curses, give me worry, give me eyes that close and do not open.

Give me a fight that’s over, give me looking up at the sky in relief, give me letting go.

Give me the sight of legs that no longer work, of eyes that flutter shut, of a body dropping to the floor.

there's the 'knock them out with a hit to the back of the head' trope, but what about 'beat the shit out of them so they're barely able to fight back before they're weak enough to get knocked unconscious with a hit to the face and that being the last thing they see as a result' trope

you know what I reallyyyyy love??

when the caretaker or team leader is putting on a brave face, saying everything will be okay. the whumpee still looks worried, so the caretaker pulls them in for a hug.

then, over the whumpee’s shoulder, the caretaker’s brave expression falters and they show how hard they’re trying to keep it together (jaw clench, closing their eyes, lips pressed tight so they don’t cry), but only while the whumpee can’t see them.

as soon as they pull apart from the hug, the caretaker has their brave mask back on again.

bonus: the whumpee tries to smile, saying something like ‘thanks Caretaker, I feel a lot better’ and walks away. caretaker watches them leave, their shoulders slumped from the pressure, suddenly looking very very tired.

- They’re not sure what’s wrong, but they’re swaying on their feet. Their eyes are unfocusing, they can’t quite hear the conversation they’re a part of.

- “Are you okay?”

- “Yeah, I’m fine. I think I just need to… need to lay down for a bit.”

- They reach for a chair, a couch, a bed, a wall, anything. It doesn’t matter what because they never reach it anyways.

- They’re on the ground, and the world swirls above them. Time slows down, they can hear their heartbeat in their ears. They hear people talking but can’t understand, can see people’s faces but can’t make them out.

- The world dissolves into a blur of colors and muffled words.

I'm 3 away from 900 followers and I'm just like. how did this even happen? what blood magic occured here to make this happen?

When the magic user overexerts themself so much that they don’t even actually realize how bad it is. One of their friends has to point out to them that there’s blood trickling from their nose, and Whumpee can only smear it with two fingers and look at the blood in dazed surprise. “Oh…” they say faintly. Then their legs turn to jello and they crumple.

is there anything more satisfying than fainting whump? it’s so simple but every part of it is perfect.

the whumpee falls behind while walking with their group, and suddenly they kinda stagger, and then their eyes roll back into their skull and they slump to the ground. the drama of it. it never gets old.
