Does Ellie get Alec Scottish treats to try and make him eat/drink? Does she keep tunnocks on hand (I know chocolate has caffeine in it but humour me) for that reason? Does she keep an 8 pack of irn bru in the bottom drawer alongside a pack of caramel logs for those all nighters in the office when he needs his something sugary to wake him up? I cannot physically pass up a teacake, is Alec the same? Does he subconsciously pick it up and scran it in one without hesitation? Does he scoff a pack of shortbread like it’s his last supper? Is Ellie elated that he’ll eat something even if it’s shite that’s likely bad for him and has almost no nutritional value? Probably

I remember investigating this when it first aired in 2015 as a teenager.

1) It’s not the angel of the north they drive past, it looks like the willow man off the M5 which heads towards Bristol (I think). That makes them South West England, at least for some of the journey which makes sense considering where Dorset is. Newcastle is the very North East of England and the A1(M) goes past it. You absolutely would go that way to go North from Dorset though, you’d probably stick on the M5 until Birmingham then turn off to head up North depending on where we’re talking, so it’s possible but I doubt it. Also, Daisy grew up there, she’d sound northern.

2) West Mercia Police is very real, it’s in Worcestershire. So geographically it’d be somewhere around the midlands.

3) For some reason when we saw more of Sandbrook and the size of it seemed like it was within commuting distance of London based on vibes alone. Think Reading or Milton Keynes. Large towns/small cities built purposely for people to get transport links to bigger cities like Manchester or Birmingham. They’ve got a bit of everything but they’re not especially inspiring.

My assumption has always been somewhere around Northampton, probably just south.

Hopefully that helps narrow it down a bit but then again I could be talking oot me arse
